ਅਤਿ ਗਿਆਨਵੰਤ ਕਰਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ॥
at giaanavant karaman prabeen |
ਅਨ ਆਸ ਗਾਤ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਅਧੀਨ ॥
an aas gaat har ko adheen |He was extremely learned, expert in actions, beyond the desires and obedient to the Lord
ਛਬਿ ਦਿਪਤ ਕੋਟ ਸੂਰਜ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ॥
chhab dipat kott sooraj pramaan |
ਚਕ ਰਹਾ ਚੰਦ ਲਖਿ ਆਸਮਾਨ ॥੬੦॥
chak rahaa chand lakh aasamaan |60|His elegance was like the crores of suns and the moon was also wonder-struck on seeing him.60.
ਉਪਜਿਯਾ ਆਪ ਇਕ ਜੋਗ ਰੂਪ ॥
aupajiyaa aap ik jog roop |
ਪੁਨਿ ਲਗੋ ਜੋਗ ਸਾਧਨ ਅਨੂਪ ॥
pun lago jog saadhan anoop |He had manifested as the apparent form of yoga and then had been absorbed in the practice of Yoga
ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਛਾਡਿ ਉਠਿ ਚਲਾ ਦਤ ॥
grih pritham chhaadd utth chalaa dat |
ਪਰਮੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਿਰਮਲੀ ਮਤਿ ॥੬੧॥
paraman pavitr niramalee mat |61|That immaculate Dutt of pure intellect did the first thing of leaving his home.61.
ਜਬ ਕੀਨ ਜੋਗ ਬਹੁ ਦਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ॥
jab keen jog bahu din pramaan |
ਤਬ ਕਾਲ ਦੇਵ ਰੀਝੇ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥
tab kaal dev reejhe nidaan |When he practiced Yoga for a long time, Kaldev (the Lord) was pleased with him
ਇਮਿ ਭਈ ਬਿਓਮ ਬਾਨੀ ਬਨਾਇ ॥
eim bhee biom baanee banaae |
ਤੁਮ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਬੈਨ ਸੰਨ੍ਯਾਸ ਰਾਇ ॥੬੨॥
tum sunahu bain sanayaas raae |62|At that time, there was a heavenly voice “O king of Yogis! Listen to what I say.”62.
ਆਕਾਸ ਬਾਨੀ ਬਾਚਿ ਦਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ॥
aakaas baanee baach dat prat |Voice from heaven addressed to Dutt :
ਪਾਧੜੀ ਛੰਦ ॥

ਗੁਰ ਹੀਣ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਤ ਦਤ ॥
gur heen mukat nahee hot dat |
ਤੁਹਿ ਕਹੋ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨਿ ਬਿਮਲ ਮਤ ॥
tuhi kaho baat sun bimal mat |“O Dutt! Listen to me with pure intellect
ਗੁਰ ਕਰਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਤਬ ਹੋਗਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ॥
gur kareh pritham tab hog mukat |
ਕਹਿ ਦੀਨ ਕਾਲ ਤਿਹ ਜੋਗ ਜੁਗਤ ॥੬੩॥
keh deen kaal tih jog jugat |63|I say unto you that there can be no salvation without the Guru first of all, adopt a Guru, then you will be redeemed, in this way, KAL told the method of Yoga to Dutt.63.
ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤਿ ਦਤ ਦੰਡਵਤ ਕੀਨ ॥
bahu bhaat dat danddavat keen |
ਆਸਾ ਬਿਰਹਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਅਧੀਨ ॥
aasaa birahat har ko adheen |Obedient to the Lord and abiding beyond the desires, Dutt prostrated before the Lord in various ways
ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤ ਜੋਗ ਸਾਧਨਾ ਸਾਧਿ ॥
bahu bhaat jog saadhanaa saadh |
ਆਦਗ ਜੋਗ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਅਗਾਧ ॥੬੪॥
aadag jog mahimaa agaadh |64|He practiced Yoga in different ways and spread the exaltation of Yoga.64.
ਤਬ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਿ ਦਤ ਦੇਵ ॥
tab namasakaar kar dat dev |
ਉਚਰੰਤ ਪਰਮ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਅਭੇਵ ॥
aucharant param usatat abhev |Then Dutt, bowing before the Lord, eulogized the Unmanifested Brahman who is the Sovereign of Sovereigns,
ਜੋਗੀਨ ਜੋਗ ਰਾਜਾਨ ਰਾਜ ॥
jogeen jog raajaan raaj |
ਅਨਭੂਤ ਅੰਗ ਜਹ ਤਹ ਬਿਰਾਜ ॥੬੫॥
anabhoot ang jah tah biraaj |65|The supreme Yogi and with unique limbs pervades everywhere.65
ਜਲ ਥਲ ਬਿਯਾਪ ਜਿਹ ਤੇਜ ਏਕ ॥
jal thal biyaap jih tej ek |
ਗਾਵੰਤ ਜਾਸੁ ਮੁਨਿ ਗਨ ਅਨੇਕ ॥
gaavant jaas mun gan anek |The splendour of that Lord Pervades in after an on plain and many sages sing His Praises
ਜਿਹ ਨੇਤਿ ਨੇਤਿ ਭਾਖੰਤ ਨਿਗਮ ॥
jih net net bhaakhant nigam |
ਤੇ ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤ ਮਧਹ ਅਗਮ ॥੬੬॥
te aad ant madhah agam |66|He, whom the Vedas etc. call “Neti, neti” (not this, not this), that Lord is eternal and Pervades in beginning, in the middle and at the end.66.
ਜਿਹ ਏਕ ਰੂਪ ਕਿਨੇ ਅਨੇਕ ॥
jih ek roop kine anek |
ਪੁਹਮੀ ਅਕਾਸ ਕਿਨੇ ਬਿਬੇਕ ॥
puhamee akaas kine bibek |He who created many beings from one and with His Power of wisdom, created the earth and the sky
ਜਲ ਬਾ ਥਲੇਸ ਸਬ ਠੌਰ ਜਾਨ ॥
jal baa thales sab tthauar jaan |
ਅਨਭੈ ਅਜੋਨਿ ਅਨਿ ਆਸ ਮਾਨ ॥੬੭॥
anabhai ajon an aas maan |67|That fearless, birthless and beyond desires is there at all the places in water and on plain.67.
ਪਾਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਸਿਧ ਪਰਮੰ ਪੁਨੀਤ ॥
paavan prasidh paraman puneet |
ਆਜਾਨ ਬਾਹ ਅਨਭਉ ਅਜੀਤ ॥
aajaan baah anbhau ajeet |He is supremely immaculate, sacred, pure, long-armed, fearless and unconquerable
ਪਰਮੰ ਪ੍ਰਸਿਧ ਪੂਰਣ ਪੁਰਾਣ ॥
paraman prasidh pooran puraan |
ਰਾਜਾਨ ਰਾਜ ਭੋਗੀ ਮਹਾਣ ॥੬੮॥
raajaan raaj bhogee mahaan |68|He is the supremely eminent Purusha, the Sovereign of Sovereign and the great enjoyer.68.
ਅਨਛਿਜ ਤੇਜ ਅਨਭੈ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ ॥
anachhij tej anabhai prakaas |
ਖੜਗਨ ਸਪੰਨ ਪਰਮੰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਸ ॥
kharragan sapan paraman prabhaas |That Lord has indestructible Lustre, Light-incarnation, Dagger-wielder and is eminent glorious
ਆਭਾ ਅਨੰਤ ਬਰਨੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
aabhaa anant baranee na jaae |
ਫਿਰ ਫਿਰੇ ਸਰਬ ਮਤਿ ਕੋ ਚਲਾਇ ॥੬੯॥
fir fire sarab mat ko chalaae |69|His infinite glory is indescribable He Pervades in all the religions.69.
ਸਬਹੂ ਬਖਾਨ ਜਿਹ ਨੇਤਿ ਨੇਤਿ ॥
sabahoo bakhaan jih net net |
ਅਕਲੰਕ ਰੂਪ ਆਭਾ ਅਮੇਤ ॥
akalank roop aabhaa amet |Whom all call “Neti, neti” (not this, not this), the powers of all kinds abide at the feet of that Blemishless and Beauty-incarnate Lord
ਸਰਬੰ ਸਮ੍ਰਿਧ ਜਿਹ ਪਾਨ ਲਾਗ ॥
saraban samridh jih paan laag |
ਜਿਹ ਨਾਮ ਲੇਤ ਸਬ ਪਾਪ ਭਾਗ ॥੭੦॥
jih naam let sab paap bhaag |70|And all the sins fly away with the remembrance of His Name.70.
ਗੁਨ ਸੀਲ ਸਾਧੁ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
gun seel saadh taa ke subhaae |
ਬਿਨੁ ਤਾਸ ਸਰਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਊ ਉਪਾਇ ॥
bin taas saran nahee koaoo upaae |He has the temperament, qualities and gentleness like the saints and there is no other measure of achieving salvation without going under His shelter
