chuttaae |742|The warriors were discharged, endured and the warriors were made fearful.742.
ਇਤਿ ਲਵ ਬਾਧਵੋ ਸਤ੍ਰੁਘਣ ਬਧਹਿ ਸਮਾਪਤ ॥
eit lav baadhavo satrughan badheh samaapat |Here Love's abandonment of the horse and the ending of Shatrughan's Badh Parsang.
ਅਥ ਲਛਮਨ ਜੁਧ ਕਥਨੰ ॥
ath lachhaman judh kathanan |Now the narrative of the battle of Lachman
ਅਣਕਾ ਛੰਦ ॥

ਜਬ ਸਰ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
jab sar laage |(of Love and Kush) when the arrows hit,
ਤਬ ਸਭ ਭਾਗੇ ॥
tab sabh bhaage |Then all the warriors (of Rama) ran away.
ਦਲਪਤਿ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
dalapat maare |(Their) generals were killed
ਭਟ ਭਟਕਾਰੇ ॥੭੪੩॥
bhatt bhattakaare |743|When the arrows struck, then all ran away the generals were killed and the warriors ran hither and thither.743.
ਹਯ ਤਜ ਭਾਗੇ ॥
hay taj bhaage |(Many warriors) left the horses and fled
ਰਘੁਬਰ ਆਗੇ ॥
raghubar aage |And Sri Ram went ahead
ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧ ਰੋਵੈਂ ॥
bahu bidh rovain |Started crying profusely.
ਸਮੁਹਿ ਨ ਜੋਵੈਂ ॥੭੪੪॥
samuhi na jovain |744|Leaving their horses, they ran towards Ram and lamenting in various ways, they had no courage to come face to face.744.
ਲਵ ਅਰ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
lav ar maare |(O Rama!) Love has killed enemies,
ਤਵ ਦਲ ਹਾਰੇ ॥
tav dal haare |(The soldiers said to Ram :) “Lava, killing the enemies, has defeated your army
ਦ੍ਵੈ ਸਿਸ ਜੀਤੇ ॥
dvai sis jeete |Two children have won.
ਨਹ ਭਯ ਭੀਤੇ ॥੭੪੫॥
nah bhay bheete |745|Those two boys are fearlessly waging the war and have gained victory,”745.
ਲਛਮਨ ਭੇਜਾ ॥
lachhaman bhejaa |(Sri Rama) sent Lachmana,
ਬਹੁ ਦਲ ਲੇਜਾ ॥
bahu dal lejaa |Ram asked Lakshman to take a huge army and sent him
ਜਿਨ ਸਿਸ ਮਾਰੂ ॥
jin sis maaroo |But not killing children.
ਮੋਹਿ ਦਿਖਾਰੂ ॥੭੪੬॥
mohi dikhaaroo |746|He said to him, “Do not kill those boys, but catch hold of them and show them to me.”746.
ਸੁਣ ਲਹੁ ਭ੍ਰਾਤੰ ॥

ਸਜਿ ਦਲ ਚਲਯੋ ॥
saj dal chalayo |So the army marched on.
ਜਲ ਥਲ ਹਲਯੋ ॥੭੪੭॥
jal thal halayo |747|Hearing the words of Raghuvir, Lakshman started, decorating his forces and sharing the waters and the planes.747.
ਉਠ ਦਲ ਧੂਰੰ ॥
autth dal dhooran |The noise raised by the movement of the parties spread in the sky
ਨਭ ਝੜ ਪੂਰੰ ॥
nabh jharr pooran |The condition has become cloudy.
ਚਹੂ ਦਿਸ ਢੂਕੇ ॥
chahoo dis dtooke |Warriors have come from both sides
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੂਕੇ ॥੭੪੮॥
har har kooke |748|The sky was filled with dust because of the movement of army, all the soldiers rushed forth from all the four directions and began to remember the name of the Lord.748.
ਬਰਖਤ ਬਾਣੰ ॥
barakhat baanan |Arrows indicate
ਥਿਰਕਤ ਜੁਆਣੰ ॥
thirakat juaanan |(those who are struck by) the young tremble.
ਲਹ ਲਹ ਧੁਜਣੰ ॥
lah lah dhujanan |Flags are flying
ਖਹਖਹ ਭੁਜਣੰ ॥੭੪੯॥
khahakhah bhujanan |749|The staggering soldiers began to shower arrows, the banners waved and the arms fought with one another.749.
ਹਸਿ ਹਸਿ ਢੂਕੇ ॥
has has dtooke |Laughing and laughing (the warriors) approach,
ਕਸਿ ਕਸਿ ਕੂਕੇ ॥

ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਬਾਲੰ ॥

ਹਠਿ ਤਜ ਉਤਾਲੰ ॥੭੫੦॥
hatth taj utaalan |750|Coming near smilingly they shouted loudly, “O boys! forsake your persistence quickly.”750.

ਹਮ ਨਹੀ ਤਯਾਗਤ ਬਾਜ ਬਰ ਸੁਣਿ ਲਛਮਨਾ ਕੁਮਾਰ ॥
ham nahee tayaagat baaj bar sun lachhamanaa kumaar |(Love and Kush replied-) Hey Lachman Kumar! Listen, we won't leave this beautiful horse,
ਅਪਨੋ ਭਰ ਬਲ ਜੁਧ ਕਰ ਅਬ ਹੀ ਸੰਕ ਬਿਸਾਰ ॥੭੫੧॥
apano bhar bal judh kar ab hee sank bisaar |751|The boys said, “O Lakshman! we shall not unfasten the horse, abandoning all your doubts you come forward to fight with all your might.”751.

ਲਛਮਨ ਗਜਯੋ ॥
lachhaman gajayo |(Hearing this) Lachman roared
ਬਡ ਧਨ ਸਜਯੋ ॥
badd dhan sajayo |And held (in hand) a large bow.
ਬਹੁ ਸਰ ਛੋਰੇ ॥
bahu sar chhore |many arrows left,
ਜਣੁ ਘਣ ਓਰੇ ॥੭੫੨॥
jan ghan ore |752|Catching hold of his very huge bow Lakshman thundering like clouds, showered a volley of arrows.752.
