ਸੰਨਯਾਸ ਦੇਵ ॥
sanayaas dev |(He) Sanyas Dev group of qualities
ਗੁਨ ਗਨ ਅਭੇਵ ॥
gun gan abhev |And is without distinction.
ਅਬਿਯਕਤ ਰੂਪ ॥
abiyakat roop |His form is inexpressible.
ਮਹਿਮਾ ਅਨੂਪ ॥੨੧੭॥
mahimaa anoop |217|He was a god for Sannyasis and for the virtuous people he was mysterious, unmanifested and of unparalleled greatness.217.
ਸਭ ਸੁਭ ਸੁਭਾਵ ॥
sabh subh subhaav |All (his) qualities are auspicious,
ਅਤਿਭੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ॥
atibhut prabhaav |The effect is amazing.
ਮਹਿਮਾ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
mahimaa apaar |Immensely glorious,
ਗੁਨ ਗਨ ਉਦਾਰ ॥੨੧੮॥
gun gan udaar |218|His temperament was auspicious, the impact marvelous and the greatness unlimited.218.
ਤਹ ਸੁਰਥ ਰਾਜ ॥
tah surath raaj |There was a king named Suratha,
ਸੰਪਤਿ ਸਮਾਜ ॥
sanpat samaaj |(Who) was of property and society
ਪੂਜੰਤ ਚੰਡਿ ॥
poojant chandd |And worshiped Chandi
ਨਿਸਿ ਦਿਨ ਅਖੰਡ ॥੨੧੯॥
nis din akhandd |219|There was a king name Surath there who was attached with his assets and society who worshipped Chandi uninterruptedly.219.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਅਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ॥
nrip at prachandd |(He was) an extremely powerful (brilliant) king.
ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਅਖੰਡ ॥
sabh bidh akhandd |(His) form was intact in all ways.
ਸਿਲਸਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ॥
silasit prabeen |Shastra was brilliant in learning
ਦੇਵੀ ਅਧੀਨ ॥੨੨੦॥
devee adheen |220|The king, who was extremely powerful and had complete control of his kingdom, was skilful in all the sciences and was under the submission of the goddess.220.
ਨਿਸਦਿਨ ਭਵਾਨਿ ॥
nisadin bhavaan |Day and night great form
ਸੇਵਤ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
sevat nidhaan |Used to serve Chandi.
ਕਰਿ ਏਕ ਆਸ ॥
kar ek aas |(He was hoping for that) one
ਨਿਸਿ ਦਿਨ ਉਦਾਸ ॥੨੨੧॥
nis din udaas |221|He served the goddess Bhavani night and day and remained unattached with only one desire in his mind.221.
ਦੁਰਗਾ ਪੁਜੰਤ ॥
duragaa pujant |(He) daily like the best priest
ਨਿਤਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਮਹੰਤ ॥
nitaprat mahant |He worshiped Durga.
ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ॥
bahu bidh prakaar |Very much so
ਸੇਵਤ ਸਵਾਰ ॥੨੨੨॥
sevat savaar |222|He used to worship Durga always in various ways and made offerings.222.
ਅਤਿ ਗੁਨ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
at gun nidhaan |He was a treasure of many virtues,
ਮਹਿਮਾ ਮਹਾਨ ॥
mahimaa mahaan |(He had) great glory.
ਅਤਿ ਬਿਮਲ ਅੰਗ ॥
at bimal ang |(His) body was very pure.
ਲਖਿ ਲਜਤ ਗੰਗ ॥੨੨੩॥
lakh lajat gang |223|That king was enromusly praiseworthy, treasure of virtues and had such a pure body that on seeing him, even the ganges felt shy.223.
ਤਿਹ ਨਿਰਖ ਦਤ ॥
tih nirakh dat |Dutt saw him
ਅਤਿ ਬਿਮਲ ਮਤਿ ॥
at bimal mat |(Who) was of very pure intellect.
ਅਨਖੰਡ ਜੋਤਿ ॥
anakhandd jot |(His) flame was unbroken,
ਜਨੁ ਭਿਓ ਉਦੋਤ ॥੨੨੪॥
jan bhio udot |224|Seeing him, Dutt became extremely pure in intellect and completely lustrous.224.
ਝਮਕੰਤ ਅੰਗ ॥
jhamakant ang |(His) limbs shone
ਲਖਿ ਲਜਤ ਗੰਗ ॥
lakh lajat gang |(Seeing the brightness of which) the Ganges used to blush.
ਅਤਿ ਗੁਨ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
at gun nidhaan |(He) the treasure of qualities
ਮਹਿਮਾ ਮਹਾਨ ॥੨੨੫॥
mahimaa mahaan |225|Seeing his limbs, even Ganges became shy, because he was enormously praiseworthy and a treasure of virtues.225.
ਅਨਭਵ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ ॥
anabhav prakaas |(He had) the light of experience,
ਨਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਉਦਾਸ ॥
nis din udaas |He used to be sad (Virkat) day and night.
ਅਤਿਭੁਤ ਸੁਭਾਵ ॥
atibhut subhaav |He had a wonderful nature,
ਸੰਨ੍ਯਾਸ ਰਾਵ ॥੨੨੬॥
sanayaas raav |226|The sage saw that he was bright like light, ever unattached and a king of Sannyasis with marvelous temperament.226.
ਲਖਿ ਤਾਸੁ ਸੇਵ ॥
lakh taas sev |Seeing his service, Sannyas Dev (Datta)
ਸੰਨ੍ਯਾਸ ਦੇਵ ॥
sanayaas dev |Very upset in mind
ਅਤਿ ਚਿਤ ਰੀਝ ॥
at chit reejh |And (seeing his devotion to service)
ਤਿਹ ਫਾਸਿ ਬੀਝ ॥੨੨੭॥
tih faas beejh |227|Dutt saw his serving nature and he was extremely pleased in his mind.227.

ਕਿ ਦਿਖਿਓਤ ਦਤੰ ॥

ki paramant matan |That (that king) is of supreme purity.
