One day after killing a deer (in hunting), Dhole thought like this in his mind

bais bitee bas baaman ke abibek bibek kachhoo na bichaariyo |

The beautiful jewels were shining on all the parts and now the joy could not be contained in the heart.

(His) form was glowing with great beauty and the splendor of the nainas could not be described.

chaar chhake chhab her charaachar dev adev rahai urajhaaee |16|

All the senses, the gods and demons have become confused (i.e. have become intoxicated) after seeing (her) beauty well. 16.

twenty four:

that the son of the Bir Sen king has come,

lok agamanai adhik patthaae |

(Then) many people were sent for guidance

aadar sau grih mai tih layaae |17|

Who brought them home with great respect. 17.

tab raanee samas sun paayo |

Then Shams Rani heard

dtolaa des hamaare aayo |

That Dhola has come to our country.

foolat adhik hridai meh bhee |

(She) was very happy in her heart

durabal hutee pusatt hvai gee |18|

And she who was weak (in the absence of her husband) got strength (with the advent of the drum). 18.

bhettat peey piyaveh bhee |

She met her lover dear

chhaileh chhail na chhoriyo jaavai |19|

And Banka (husband) was not being divorced from that young woman. 19.

doharaa |

dual:

piy paatar pataree triyaa param preet upajaae |

Pritam was thin and Preetama was also thin. By creating a lot of love

geh geh parai prajank par pal pal bal bal jaae |20|

(He) used to lay down on the bed by holding her and would turn away from her moment by moment. 20.

chauapee |

twenty four:

samas sang na kas rat karai |

(He) was not playing with Shams.

chit mai ihai bichaar bicharai |

That's what he was thinking in Chit.

aaich haath taa ko na chalaavai |

(Therefore) the stretched hand did not move

jin katt ttoott priyaa kee jaavai |21|

May Priya's (thin) waist be broken. 21.

doharaa |

dual:

tab samas aaise kahiyo suniho dtolan meet |

Then Shams said thus, O drummer friend! listen

rat kas kas mo sau karau hvai kai hridai nicheet |22|

Be confident in your heart and play with me tightly. 22.

dtolaa naravar kott ko basau neh ke gaav |

Dhola of Narwar Kot settled in the town of Prem.

taa te sabh triy piyan ko dtolaa ucharat naav |23|

That is why all women began to pronounce the name of Dhole for (their) loved ones. 23.

niddar hoe tum muhi bhajo sankaa karau na ek |

(So Shams said) You should fear me and do not entertain a single doubt in your mind.

jayon resam ttootte nahee kasisai karo anek |24|

(Because) just as silk does not break after being squeezed many times (in the same way, my body is not affected). 24.

arril |

adamant:

sunat piyaravaa bain taeh bhogat bhayo |

Hearing this, Pritam indulged her

chauaraasee aasan samas ke kas layo |

And took eighty-four seats with Shams.

chunban le anek ang lapattaae kai |

He hugged his limbs and took many kisses

ho chimatt chimatt tih bhajiyo harakh upajaae kai |25|

And joyfully pinched the tweezers and played with him. 25.

chatur chaturiyaa chimatt chimatt rat maanahee |

Clever men and clever women were celebrating Rati by tinkering.
