ਸੁਨੁ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਪਰੀ ਜੁ ਹਮ ਜਿਹ ਹਿਤ ਅਤਿ ਸ੍ਰਮ ਕੀਨ ॥
sun saradaar paree ju ham jih hit at sram keen |(Sakhi Pari began to say to Shah Pari.) Hey Shah Pari! listen For which I have worked hard,
ਅਬ ਤੈ ਯਾਹਿ ਬਰਿਯੋ ਚਹਤ ਮਿਲਨ ਨ ਤਾ ਕਹ ਦੀਨ ॥੪੪॥
ab tai yaeh bariyo chahat milan na taa kah deen |44|Now you want to divorce her and do not even allow her to meet (with Raj Kumari). 44.

ਸਖਿ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਪਰੀ ਕ੍ਯਾ ਕਰੈ ॥
sakh saradaar paree kayaa karai |O Sakhi! What should Shah Pari also do?
ਬਿਰਹ ਤਾਪ ਤਨ ਛਤਿਯਾ ਜਰੈ ॥
birah taap tan chhatiyaa jarai |In (its) disuse (my) body and breast are burning.
ਜਬ ਮੈ ਯਾ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
jab mai yaa ko roop nihaariyo |When I have seen its form,
ਸ੍ਵਰਗ ਬਿਖੈ ਕੋ ਬਾਸ ਬਿਸਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੪੫॥
svarag bikhai ko baas bisaariyo |45|So the thought of living in heaven has been abandoned. 45.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਕਹਾ ਕਰੋ ਮੈ ਜਾਉ ਕਤ ਲਗੈ ਨਿਗੋਡੇ ਨੈਨ ॥
kahaa karo mai jaau kat lagai nigodde nain |What should I do, where should I go? (I have) bad moles.
ਬਿਨੁ ਹੇਰੇ ਕਲ ਨ ਪਰੈ ਨਿਰਖਤ ਲਾਗਤ ਚੈਨ ॥੪੬॥
bin here kal na parai nirakhat laagat chain |46|There is no peace without seeing (him) and by seeing one experiences happiness. 46.
ਬਿਨ ਦੇਖੇ ਮਹਬੂਬ ਕੇ ਪਲਕ ਲਗਤ ਹੈ ਜਾਮ ॥
bin dekhe mahaboob ke palak lagat hai jaam |Without seeing Mehboob, even a blink of an eye seems like a watch.
ਤਬ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਪਰੀ ਹੁਤੀ ਅਬ ਇਹ ਭਈ ਗੁਲਾਮ ॥੪੭॥
tab saradaar paree hutee ab ih bhee gulaam |47|Then it was Shah Pari, now it has become a slave. 47.
ਕਹਾ ਕਰੌ ਕਾ ਸੌ ਕਹੌ ਕਹੇ ਨ ਆਵਤ ਬੈਨ ॥
kahaa karau kaa sau kahau kahe na aavat bain |What should (I) do, whom should I tell? (I am) not being talked to.
ਬਿਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ਮਹਬੂਬ ਕੇ ਭਏ ਜਹਮਤੀ ਨੈਨ ॥੪੮॥
bin dekhe mahaboob ke bhe jahamatee nain |48|Without seeing Mahbub, Nayan has become sick ('Jahmati'). 48.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |adamant:
ਪਲਕ ਨ ਇਤ ਉਤ ਜਾਇ ਨੈਨ ਐਸੇ ਲਗੇ ॥
palak na it ut jaae nain aaise lage |The eyes are such that they do not move here and there even for a moment (meaning see).
ਪਿਯ ਦੇਖਨ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੋਊ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਪਗੇ ॥
piy dekhan ke prem doaoo ih bidh page |Both of them are engrossed in their love to see the Beloved.
ਲਗਨ ਲਾਗਿ ਮੁਰਿ ਗਈ ਨਿਗੋਡਿ ਨ ਛੂਟਈ ॥
lagan laag mur gee nigodd na chhoottee |I have become (such) persistent that the evil one does not escape.
ਹੋ ਨੈਕੁ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਨਿਖੂਟਈ ॥੪੯॥
ho naik nihaare bin sakh praan nikhoottee |49|O Sakhi! Without even seeing him, (my) life is going out. 49.
ਛੁਟਤ ਛੁਟਾਏ ਨਾਹਿ ਨਿਗੋਡੇ ਜਹ ਲਗੇ ॥
chhuttat chhuttaae naeh nigodde jah lage |There are bad ones that cannot be removed.
ਪਲਕ ਨ ਇਤ ਉਤ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਯ ਕੇ ਪਗੇ ॥
palak na it ut hoe prem piy ke page |Being engrossed in the love of the beloved, even the blink of an eye does not move here and there.
ਜਹਾ ਲਗੇ ਏ ਨੈਨ ਤਹੀ ਕੈ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਰਹੇ ॥
jahaa lage e nain tahee kai hvai rahe |Wherever these stones have been planted, they have remained there.
ਹੋ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਨ ਕੇ ਨਾਹਿ ਕਬਿਨ ਐਸੇ ਕਹੇ ॥੫੦॥
ho fir aavan ke naeh kabin aaise kahe |50|The poets have said like this (that where they go) they do not return from there. 50.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਥਰਹਰਾਇ ਥਿਰ ਨ ਰਹਹਿ ਪਲਕ ਨਹੀ ਠਹਰਾਹਿ ॥
tharaharaae thir na raheh palak nahee tthaharaeh |They are oscillating, unsteady, unsteady even for a moment.
ਜਹ ਲਾਗੇ ਏ ਲੋਇਨਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਨ ਕੇ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੫੧॥
jah laage e loeinaa fir aavan ke naeh |51|Where these pearls are now planted, they will not return (from there). 51.
ਨਿਰਖਿ ਨੈਨ ਮਹਬੂਬ ਕੇ ਨੈਨ ਗਡੇ ਤਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
nirakh nain mahaboob ke nain gadde tin maeh |Seeing the lover's eyes, (my) eyes have sunk into them.
ਉਡੈ ਅਘਾਨੇ ਬਾਜ ਜ੍ਯੋ ਫਿਰ ਆਵਨ ਕੇ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੫੨॥
auddai aghaane baaj jayo fir aavan ke naeh |52|They have flown like hawks, they are not going to return. 52.
ਜਹਾ ਲਗੇ ਏ ਲੋਇਨਾ ਤਹ ਹੀ ਕੇ ਸੁ ਭਏ ॥
jahaa lage e loeinaa tah hee ke su bhe |Where these pearls were planted, (then) they became there.
ਬਹਰੀ ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਕਹਰੀ ਦੋਊ ਗਏ ਸੁ ਗਏ ਗਏ ॥੫੩॥
baharee jayon kaharee doaoo ge su ge ge |53|Like a deer (bird of prey), both of them are furious, (once) they are gone, then they are gone forever. 53.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |adamant:
ਜਿਤ ਲਾਗੇ ਏ ਨੈਨ ਸੁ ਤਿਤਹੀ ਕੇ ਭਏ ॥
jit laage e nain su titahee ke bhe |Where these pearls were planted, (then) they remained there.
ਕਰਿ ਹਾਰੀ ਹੌ ਜਤਨ ਨ ਭੂਲਿ ਇਤੈ ਅਏ ॥
kar haaree hau jatan na bhool itai ae |I am tired of trying so hard, I did not come here even after forgetting (this).
ਛੁਟੀ ਬਾਤ ਮੁਰਿ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਕਹੋ ਹੌ ਕ੍ਯਾ ਕਰੌ ॥
chhuttee baat mur kar te kaho hau kayaa karau |The word has gone out of my hand (meaning there is nothing left in me anymore) tell me, what should I do?
ਹੋ ਮਦਨ ਤਾਪ ਤਨ ਤਈ ਸਦਾ ਜਿਯ ਮੈ ਜਰੌ ॥੫੪॥
ho madan taap tan tee sadaa jiy mai jarau |54|Burnt with lust (I) am always burning in the heart. 54.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਕੋਟਿ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਿ ਰਹੀ ਸਖੀ ਸਬ ॥
kott jatan kar rahee sakhee sab |All the sakhis are tired of trying so hard,
ਲਗਨ ਨਿਗੌਡੀ ਲਾਗਿ ਗਈ ਜਬ ॥
lagan nigauaddee laag gee jab |But when the bad love started.
ਤਬ ਤਿਨ ਪਰੀ ਉਪਾਇ ਬਿਚਾਰੋ ॥
tab tin paree upaae bichaaro |Then those fairies thought of a plan
ਰਾਜ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਸੌ ਜਾਇ ਉਚਾਰੋ ॥੫੫॥
raaj putr sau jaae uchaaro |55|And went to Raj Kumar and said.55.
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰ ਤੈ ਜਿਹ ਬਰ ਲਾਇਕ ॥
raaj kuar tai jih bar laaeik |Hey Raj Kumar! Whom you are worthy of,
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਪਰੀ ਲਗਹਿ ਸਭ ਪਾਇਕ ॥
jaa kee paree lageh sabh paaeik |All angels fall at his feet.
ਅਬ ਤੁਹਿ ਬਰਿਯੋ ਚਹਤ ਹਮਰੀ ਪਤਿ ॥
ab tuhi bariyo chahat hamaree pat |Now our Sardarani (Princess Fairy) wants to visit you.
ਕਹਾ ਤਿਹਾਰੇ ਆਵਤ ਹੈ ਮਤਿ ॥੫੬॥
kahaa tihaare aavat hai mat |56|What comes to your mind (tell us) 56.
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੁਨਾ ਜਬ ॥
raaj kuar ih bhaat sunaa jab |When Raj Kumar heard this,
ਬਚਨ ਪਰੀ ਸੋ ਕਹੇ ਬਿਹਸਿ ਤਬ ॥
bachan paree so kahe bihas tab |Then the fairy laughed and said,
ਮੈ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਪਰਿਹਿ ਨਹਿ ਬਰਿ ਹੌਂ ॥
mai saradaar parihi neh bar hauan |I will not marry Shah Pari
ਲਾਗਿ ਬਿਰਹ ਸੁ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਕੇ ਮਰਿ ਹੌਂ ॥੫੭॥
laag birah su kuar ke mar hauan |57|And I will die in the absence of that Raj Kumari. 57.
