ਚਤੁਰਥ ਭਨ ਧਾਤ ਸਿਤੰ ਰੁਕਮੰ ॥
chaturath bhan dhaat sitan rukaman |First of tall I reckon iron, lead and gold alongwith the fourth white metal silver
ਬਹੁਰੋ ਕਥਿ ਤਾਬਰ ਕਲੀ ਪਿਤਰੰ ॥
bahuro kath taabar kalee pitaran |Then I say copper, copper and brass.
ਕਥਿ ਅਸਟਮ ਜਿਸਤੁ ਹੈ ਧਾਤ ਧਰੰ ॥੯॥
kath asattam jisat hai dhaat dharan |9|Then mentioning copper, tin and brass, I consider the eighth metal as zinc, which is found within the earth.9.

chaturath tih sinbalakhaar bhanan |Now I describe the minor metals they are : antimony, cinnabar, yellow orpiment, bombax,
ਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸੰਖ ਮਨਾਸਿਲ ਅਭ੍ਰਕਯੰ ॥
mrit sankh manaasil abhrakayan |Murda Sankh, Munshil, Abhrak
ਭਨਿ ਅਸਟਮ ਲੋਣ ਰਸੰ ਲਵਣੰ ॥੧੦॥
bhan asattam lon rasan lavanan |10|Potash, conchshell, mica, artemesia and calomel.10.

ਧਾਤੁ ਉਪਧਾਤ ਜਥਾ ਸਕਤਿ ਸੋਹੂੰ ਕਹੀ ਬਨਾਇ ॥
dhaat upadhaat jathaa sakat sohoon kahee banaae |These metals, minor metals have been described by me according to my own understanding.
ਖਾਨਨ ਮਹਿ ਭੀ ਹੋਤ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਕਹੂੰ ਕਮਾਇ ॥੧੧॥
khaanan meh bhee hot hai koee kahoon kamaae |11|He, who desires to have them, can get them.11.

ਰਤਨ ਉਪਰਤਨ ਨਿਕਾਸੇ ਤਬਹੀ ॥
ratan uparatan nikaase tabahee |Ratna and Upartan (when) came out, then only
ਧਾਤ ਉਪਧਾਤ ਦਿਰਬ ਮੋ ਸਬ ਹੀ ॥
dhaat upadhaat dirab mo sab hee |As the major and minor jewels, the major and minor metals came out
ਤਿਹ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਬਿਸਨਹਿ ਹਿਰ ਲਯੋ ॥
tih tab hee bisaneh hir layo |Only then did Vishnu take them all.
ਅਵਰਨਿ ਬਾਟ ਅਵਰ ਨਹਿ ਦਯੋ ॥੧੨॥
avaran baatt avar neh dayo |12|They were taken away by Vishnu and distributed the remaining things amongst all.12.
ਸਾਰੰਗ ਸਰ ਅਸਿ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਗਦਾ ਲੀਅ ॥
saarang sar as chakr gadaa leea |(Saranga) bow, arrow, (nandaga) kharag, (sudarshan) chakra and mace (Vishnu kept himself).
ਪਾਚਾਮਰ ਲੈ ਨਾਦ ਅਧਿਕ ਕੀਅ ॥
paachaamar lai naad adhik keea |He took away himself the bow and arrows, the sword, the discus, the mace and the (Panchjanay) conch etc.
ਸੂਲ ਪਿਨਾਕ ਬਿਸਹ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
sool pinaak bisah kar leenaa |Then he laughed and held the trident called Pinak in his hand
ਸੋ ਲੈ ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਕਉ ਦੀਨਾ ॥੧੩॥
so lai mahaadev kau deenaa |13|And taking the trident, the cow named Pinak and Poison in his hands, gave them to Shva.13.
ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang prayaat chhand |BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA
ਦੀਯੋ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਐਰਾਵਤੰ ਬਾਜ ਸੂਰੰ ॥
deeyo indr aairaavatan baaj sooran |Gave Indra the Aravat elephant and Surya the Chalasrava horse.
ਉਠੇ ਦੀਹ ਦਾਨੋ ਜੁਧੰ ਲੋਹ ਪੂਰੰ ॥
autthe deeh daano judhan loh pooran |The elephants named Airavat was given to Indra and the horse to the sun seeing which the demons, in great fury,Marched to wage war.
ਅਨੀ ਦਾਨਵੀ ਦੇਖਿ ਉਠੀ ਅਪਾਰੰ ॥
anee daanavee dekh utthee apaaran |Seeing (them stood up) the vast army of demons also stood up.
ਤਬੈ ਬਿਸਨ ਜੂ ਚਿਤਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਬਿਚਾਰੰ ॥੧੪॥
tabai bisan joo chit keenee bichaaran |14|Seeing the advancing army of the demons, Vishnu thought in his mind.14.
ਅਥ ਨਰ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਕਥਨੰ ॥
ath nar naaraaein avataar kathanan |Here begins the description of the incarnations named Nar and Narayan:
ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang prayaat chhand |BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA
ਨਰੰ ਅਉਰ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੰ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
naran aaur naaraaeinan roop dhaaree |(Vishnu) in male and Narayan forms
ਭਯੋ ਸਾਮੁਹੇ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਸਤ੍ਰੰ ਸੰਭਾਰੀ ॥
bhayo saamuhe sasatr asatran sanbhaaree |Manifesting himself as Nar and Narayan, Vishnu, managing his weapons and arms, came in front of the demon-forces.
ਭਟੰ ਐਠਿ ਫੈਂਟੇ ਭੁਜੰ ਠੋਕਿ ਭੂਪੰ ॥
bhattan aaitth faintte bhujan tthok bhoopan |The warriors tied their garments tightly and the kings beat their arms
ਬਜੇ ਸੂਲ ਸੇਲੰ ਭਏ ਆਪ ਰੂਪੰ ॥੧੫॥
baje sool selan bhe aap roopan |15|It, that war, the tridents and the spears began to collide with each other.15.
ਪਰਿਯੋ ਆਪ ਮੋ ਲੋਹ ਕ੍ਰੋਹੰ ਅਪਾਰੰ ॥
pariyo aap mo loh krohan apaaran |There was a war with weapons among themselves with great anger.
ਧਰਿਯੋ ਐਸ ਕੈ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਵਤਾਰੰ ॥
dhariyo aais kai bisan triteeaavataaran |In great anger. The blows of the steel-arms began to rain and at this juncture Vishnu manifested his third incarnation.
ਨਰੰ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੰ ਦੁਐ ਸਰੂਪੰ ॥
naran ek naaraaeinan duaai saroopan |One was a male form and the other was a Narayan form.
ਦਿਪੈ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਉਦਰ ਜੁ ਧਾਰੇ ਅਨੂਪੰ ॥੧੬॥
dipai jot saudar ju dhaare anoopan |16|Nar and Narayan both had similar forms and their effulgence assumed unparalleled Lustre.16.
ਉਠੈ ਟੂਕ ਕੋਪੰ ਗੁਰਜੰ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ॥
autthai ttook kopan gurajan prahaare |(The warriors) got up and were smashing the (iron heads) helmets with the blows of the spears.
ਜੁਟੇ ਜੰਗ ਕੋ ਜੰਗ ਜੋਧਾ ਜੁਝਾਰੇ ॥
jutte jang ko jang jodhaa jujhaare |Wearing their helmets the warriors are striking their blows with maces and the mighty heroes are engrossed in the war.
ਉਡੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਪੂਰੰ ਛੁਹੀ ਐਨ ਗੈਨੰ ॥
auddee dhoor pooran chhuhee aain gainan |(During their war) the dust that flew up covered the entire sky.
ਡਿਗੇ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਦੈਤ ਕੰਪਿਯੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਨੈਨੰ ॥੧੭॥
ddige devataa dait kanpiyo trinainan |17|The dust hath both the gods and demons, having gone astray, were falling and even the three-eyed god Shiva trembled.17.
ਗਿਰੇ ਬੀਰ ਏਕੰ ਅਨੇਕੰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰੰ ॥
gire beer ekan anekan prakaaran |One by one, the war heroes were falling in many ways.
ਸੁਭੈ ਜੰਗ ਮੋ ਜੰਗ ਜੋਧਾ ਜੁਝਾਰੰ ॥
subhai jang mo jang jodhaa jujhaaran |Many types of warriors fell in the field and the great fighters looked impressive in the war.
ਪਰੀ ਤਛ ਮੁਛੰ ਸਭੈ ਅੰਗ ਭੰਗੰ ॥
paree tachh muchhan sabhai ang bhangan |(The corpses of the warriors) lay mutilated and mutilated.
ਮਨੋ ਪਾਨ ਕੈ ਭੰਗ ਪੌਢੇ ਮਲੰਗੰ ॥੧੮॥
mano paan kai bhang pauadte malangan |18|The brave fighters, being chopped into bits, began to fall and it appeared that the wrestlers are lying intoxicated after drinking hemp.18.
ਦਿਸਾ ਮਉ ਨ ਆਈ ਅਨੀ ਦੈਤ ਰਾਜੰ ॥
disaa mau na aaee anee dait raajan |The demon king's army did not appear (i.e. fled).
ਭਜੈ ਸਰਬ ਦੇਵੰ ਤਜੇ ਸਰਬ ਸਾਜੰ ॥
bhajai sarab devan taje sarab saajan |More forces of demons came from another direction, seeing which the gods, leaving all their paraphernalia, ran away.
ਗਿਰੇ ਸੰਜ ਪੁੰਜ ਸਿਰੰ ਬਾਹੁ ਬੀਰੰ ॥
gire sanj punj siran baahu beeran |(Many in the battlefield) the heads, arms and shields of the warriors had fallen.
ਸੁਭੈ ਬਾਨ ਜਿਉ ਚੇਤਿ ਪੁਹਪੰ ਕਰੀਰੰ ॥੧੯॥
subhai baan jiau chet puhapan kareeran |19|The limbs began to fall in great numbers and the arrows looked auspicious in the manner of the flowers of capparis in the month of the Chaitra.19.
