ਸੁਨੋ ਭੂਪ ਇਕ ਕਹੋਂ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥
suno bhoop ik kahon kahaanee |

O Rajan! Listen, let's have a conversation.

ਏਕ ਪੁਰਖ ਉਪਜ੍ਯੋ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ॥
ek purakh upajayo abhimaanee |

“O king! Listen, we tell you an episode

ਜਿਹ ਸਮ ਰੂਪ ਜਗਤ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ॥
jih sam roop jagat nahee koee |

There is no one like him in the world.

ਏਕੈ ਘੜਾ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ਸੋਈ ॥੫॥
ekai gharraa bidhaataa soee |5|

A very proud person has been born and there is none so beautiful like him it seems that the Lord (Providence) Himself had created him.5.

ਕੈ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਜਛ ਕੋਈ ਅਹਾ ॥
kai gandhrab jachh koee ahaa |

(He) is either a Gandharva or a Yaksha.

ਜਾਨੁਕ ਦੂਸਰ ਭਾਨੁ ਚੜ ਰਹਾ ॥
jaanuk doosar bhaan charr rahaa |

“Either he is a Yaksha or Gandharva it appears that a second sun has arisen

ਅਤਿ ਜੋਬਨ ਝਮਕਤ ਤਿਹ ਅੰਗਾ ॥
at joban jhamakat tih angaa |

A lot of joy is shining from his body,

ਨਿਰਖਤ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਲਜਤ ਅਨੰਗਾ ॥੬॥
nirakhat jaa ke lajat anangaa |6|

His body is gleaming with youth and seeing him, even the god of love is feeling shy.”6.

ਭੂਪਤਿ ਦੇਖਨ ਕਾਜ ਬੁਲਾਵਾ ॥
bhoopat dekhan kaaj bulaavaa |

The king called to see (him).

ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦ੍ਯੋਸ ਸਾਥ ਚਲ ਆਵਾ ॥
pahile dayos saath chal aavaa |

The king called him in order to see him and he (Parasnath) came on the very first day with the messengers

ਹਰਖ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਧਰ ਕੇ ਜਟਧਾਰੀ ॥
harakh hridai dhar ke jattadhaaree |

(Seeing him) the Jatadharis were happy (but with inward fear their) hearts began to beat.

ਜਾਨੁਕ ਦੁਤੀ ਦਤ ਅਵਤਾਰੀ ॥੭॥
jaanuk dutee dat avataaree |7|

The king was pleased in his heart on seeing him wearing matted locks and it appeared to him that he was the second incarnation of Dutt.7.

ਨਿਰਖ ਰੂਪ ਕਾਪੇ ਜਟਧਾਰੀ ॥
nirakh roop kaape jattadhaaree |

Seeing his form, Jatadhari began to tremble

ਯਹ ਕੋਊ ਭਯੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਵਤਾਰੀ ॥
yah koaoo bhayo purakh avataaree |

Seeing his figure the sages wearing matted locks trembled and thought he was some incarnation,

ਯਹ ਮਤ ਦੂਰ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਕੈ ਹੈ ॥
yah mat door hamaaraa kai hai |

It will take away our opinion

ਜਟਾਧਾਰ ਕੋਈ ਰਹੈ ਨ ਪੈ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
jattaadhaar koee rahai na pai hai |8|

who will finish their religion and no person with matted locks will survive.8.

ਤੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਤਬ ਰਾਜਾ ॥
tej prabhaav nirakh tab raajaa |

Then the king seeing the effect of (his) brilliance

ਅਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਿ ਪੁਲਕਤ ਚਿਤ ਗਾਜਾ ॥
at prasan pulakat chit gaajaa |

The king, seeing the impact of his glory, was extremely pleased

ਜਿਹ ਜਿਹਾ ਲਖਾ ਰਹੇ ਬਿਸਮਾਈ ॥
jih jihaa lakhaa rahe bisamaaee |

Whoever saw it, fell into awe.

ਜਾਨੁਕ ਰੰਕ ਨਵੋ ਨਿਧ ਪਾਈ ॥੯॥
jaanuk rank navo nidh paaee |9|

Whosoever saw him, he was pleased like one pauper obtaining nine treasures.9.

ਮੋਹਨ ਜਾਲ ਸਭਨ ਸਿਰ ਡਾਰਾ ॥
mohan jaal sabhan sir ddaaraa |

(That man) put a bewitching net over everyone's head,

ਚੇਟਕ ਬਾਨ ਚਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਮਾਰਾ ॥
chettak baan chakrit hvai maaraa |

He put his net of allurement on all and all were getting succumbed in wonder

ਜਹ ਤਹ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਕਲ ਨਰ ਗਿਰੇ ॥
jah tah mohi sakal nar gire |

Where all the men fell in love.

ਜਾਨ ਸੁਭਟ ਸਾਮੁਹਿ ਰਣ ਭਿਰੇ ॥੧੦॥
jaan subhatt saamuhi ran bhire |10|

All the people getting fascinated fell down here and there like the warriors falling in battle.10.

ਨਰ ਨਾਰੀ ਜਿਹ ਜਿਹ ਤਿਹ ਪੇਖਾ ॥
nar naaree jih jih tih pekhaa |

Every man and woman who saw him,

ਤਿਹ ਤਿਹ ਮਦਨ ਰੂਪ ਅਵਿਰੇਖਾ ॥
tih tih madan roop avirekhaa |

The man or woman, who saw him, considered him s the god of love

ਸਾਧਨ ਸਰਬ ਸਿਧਿ ਕਰ ਜਾਨਾ ॥
saadhan sarab sidh kar jaanaa |

The Sadhs knew all the Siddhis as such

ਜੋਗਨ ਜੋਗ ਰੂਪ ਅਨੁਮਾਨਾ ॥੧੧॥
jogan jog roop anumaanaa |11|

The hermits considered him as an adept and the Yogis as a great Yogi.11.

ਨਿਰਖਿ ਰੂਪ ਰਨਵਾਸ ਲੁਭਾਨਾ ॥
nirakh roop ranavaas lubhaanaa |

Seeing (His) form, the entire Ranvas became enamored.

ਦੇ ਤਿਹ ਸੁਤਾ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਮਾਨਾ ॥
de tih sutaa nripat man maanaa |

The group of queens was allured on seeing him and the king also decided to marry his daughter with him

ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੋ ਭਯੋ ਜਬੈ ਜਾਮਾਤਾ ॥
nrip ko bhayo jabai jaamaataa |

When he became the king's son-in-law

ਮਹਾ ਧਨੁਖਧਰ ਬੀਰ ਬਿਖ੍ਯਾਤਾ ॥੧੨॥
mahaa dhanukhadhar beer bikhayaataa |12|

When he became the son-in-law of the king, then he became famous as a great archer.12.

ਮਹਾ ਰੂਪ ਅਰੁ ਅਮਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪੂ ॥
mahaa roop ar amit prataapoo |

(He) was of great form and amiable splendor.

ਜਾਨੁ ਜਪੈ ਹੈ ਆਪਨ ਜਾਪੂ ॥
jaan japai hai aapan jaapoo |

That extremely beautiful and infinitely glorious persons was absorbed within himself

ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਬੇਤਾ ਸੁਰਿ ਗ੍ਯਾਨਾ ॥
sasatr saasatr betaa sur gayaanaa |

He was well versed in weapons and armor

ਜਾ ਸਮ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਜਗਤਿ ਨ ਆਨਾ ॥੧੩॥
jaa sam panddit jagat na aanaa |13|

He was expert in the knowledge of Shastras and weapons and there was no Pandit like him in the world.13.

ਥੋਰਿ ਬਹਿਕ੍ਰਮ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਸੇਖਾ ॥
thor bahikram budh bisekhaa |

Ayu may be short but intelligence is special.

ਜਾਨੁਕ ਧਰਾ ਬਿਤਨ ਯਹਿ ਭੇਖਾ ॥
jaanuk dharaa bitan yeh bhekhaa |

He was like a Yaksha in human garb, not being troubled by the outer afflictions

ਜਿਹ ਜਿਹ ਰੂਪ ਤਵਨ ਕਾ ਲਹਾ ॥
jih jih roop tavan kaa lahaa |

Whoever saw his form,

ਸੋ ਸੋ ਚਮਕ ਚਕ੍ਰਿ ਹੁਐ ਰਹਾ ॥੧੪॥
so so chamak chakr huaai rahaa |14|

Whosoever saw his beauty, he was wonder-struck and duped.14.

ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

SWAYYA

ਮਾਨ ਭਰੇ ਸਰ ਸਾਨ ਧਰੇ ਮਠ ਸਾਨ ਚੜੇ ਅਸਿ ਸ੍ਰੋਣਤਿ ਸਾਏ ॥
maan bhare sar saan dhare matth saan charre as sronat saae |

He was glorious like the sword saturated with marrow

ਲੇਤ ਹਰੇ ਜਿਹ ਡੀਠ ਪਰੇ ਨਹੀ ਫੇਰਿ ਫਿਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਜਾਨ ਨ ਪਾਏ ॥
let hare jih ddeetth pare nahee fer fire grih jaan na paae |

Whomsoever he saw, he could not go back to his home

ਝੀਮ ਝਰੇ ਜਨ ਸੇਲ ਹਰੇ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਗਿਰੇ ਜਨੁ ਦੇਖਨ ਆਏ ॥
jheem jhare jan sel hare ih bhaat gire jan dekhan aae |

He, who came to see him he fell down swinging on the earth, whomsoever he saw, he was inflicted with the arrows of the god of love,

ਜਾਸੁ ਹਿਰੇ ਸੋਊ ਮੈਨ ਘਿਰੇ ਗਿਰ ਭੂਮਿ ਪਰੇ ਨ ਉਠੰਤ ਉਠਾਏ ॥੧੫॥
jaas hire soaoo main ghire gir bhoom pare na utthant utthaae |15|

He fell down there and writhed and could not get up to go.1.15.

ਸੋਭਤ ਜਾਨੁ ਸੁਧਾਸਰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕਾਮ ਕੇ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਕੂਪ ਸੁ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
sobhat jaan sudhaasar sundar kaam ke maanahu koop su dhaare |

It seemed that the store of lust had been opened and Parasnath looked splendid like the moon

ਲਾਜਿ ਕੇ ਜਾਨ ਜਹਾਜ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ਹੇਰਤ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਲੇਤ ਹਕਾਰੇ ॥
laaj ke jaan jahaaj biraajat herat hee har let hakaare |

Even if there were ships stored with shyness and he allured everyone only on seeing

ਹਉ ਚਹੁ ਕੁੰਟ ਭ੍ਰਮ੍ਯੋ ਖਗ ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਇਨ ਕੇ ਸਮ ਰੂਪ ਨ ਨੈਕੁ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥
hau chahu kuntt bhramayo khag jayon in ke sam roop na naik nihaare |

In all the four directions, the persons like wandering birds were saying this that they had seen none so beautiful like him
