ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਾਨ ਕੋ ਦਾਨ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੧੫॥
mahaaraaj praanaan ko daan deejai |15|O Maharaj! (to me today) give the gift of souls. 15.
ਰਚੀ ਬਾਲ ਲਾਲਾ ਸਭੈ ਰੂਪ ਤੇਰੇ ॥
rachee baal laalaa sabhai roop tere |Oh dear! All women are fascinated by your appearance.
ਮਿਲੌ ਆਜੁ ਮੋ ਕੌ ਸੁਨੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
milau aaj mo kau suno praan mere |O dear soul! Come and meet me today.
ਕਹਾ ਮਾਨ ਮਾਤੇ ਫਿਰੌ ਐਂਠ ਐਂਠੇ ॥
kahaa maan maate firau aaintth aaintthe |Oh, there are resolutions in honor! Why do you walk around stiffly?
ਲਯੋ ਚੋਰਿ ਮੇਰੋ ਕਹਾ ਚਿਤ ਬੈਠੇ ॥੧੬॥
layo chor mero kahaa chit baitthe |16|(You) have stolen my mind and where are you sitting. 16.
ਕਰੋ ਹਾਰ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਬਾਗੌ ਬਨਾਵੌ ॥
karo haar singaar baagau banaavau |Decorate the necklace, decorate the beautiful armor
ਕੀਏ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਚੌਪਿ ਬੀਰੀ ਚਬਾਵੌ ॥
kee chit mai chauap beeree chabaavau |And happily chew the paan beera in chit.
ਉਠੋ ਬੇਗਿ ਬੈਠੇ ਕਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
auttho beg baitthe kahaa praan mere |Arise quickly, my beloved soul! where are you sitting
ਚਲੋ ਕੁੰਜ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਗੈ ਨੈਨ ਤੇਰੇ ॥੧੭॥
chalo kunj mere lagai nain tere |17|My pearls are attached to you, go and settle in (their) corners ('kunj') ॥17॥
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਬਚਨ ਬਿਕਾਨੇ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਕੇ ਕਹੈ ਕੁਅਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ॥
bachan bikaane kuar ke kahai kuar ke sang |Kumari's (this) selling words were said to Kumari.
ਏਕ ਨ ਮਾਨੀ ਮੰਦ ਮਤਿ ਰਸ ਕੇ ਉਮਗਿ ਤਰੰਗ ॥੧੮॥
ek na maanee mand mat ras ke umag tarang |18|But that fool did not accept one (even though) the waves of juice were rising. 18.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਨਾਹਿ ਨਾਹਿ ਮਤਿ ਮੰਦ ਉਚਾਰੀ ॥
naeh naeh mat mand uchaaree |That fool just said 'no no'.
ਭਲੀ ਬੁਰੀ ਜੜ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥
bhalee buree jarr kachh na bichaaree |(That) unintelligent thought nothing of good or bad.
ਬਚਨ ਮਾਨਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਤਾਹਿ ਨ ਗਯੋ ॥
bachan maan grih taeh na gayo |He did not go to his house
ਸਾਹੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਕਹੁ ਭਜਤ ਨ ਭਯੋ ॥੧੯॥
saahu sutaa kahu bhajat na bhayo |19|And did not combine with Shah's daughter. 19.
ਕਬਿਯੋ ਬਾਚ ॥
kabiyo baach |The poet says:
ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |adamant:
ਕਾਮਾਤੁਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਜੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਪੁਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਆਵਈ ॥
kaamaatur hvai ju triy purakh prat aavee |The woman who comes to the man eager with lust,
ਘੋਰ ਨਰਕ ਮਹਿ ਪਰੈ ਜੁ ਤਾਹਿ ਨ ਰਾਵਈ ॥
ghor narak meh parai ju taeh na raavee |He who does not give Rati charity to him, he (the man) falls into the terrible hells.
ਜੋ ਪਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਪਰ ਸੇਜ ਭਜਤ ਹੈ ਜਾਇ ਕਰਿ ॥
jo par triy par sej bhajat hai jaae kar |He who goes to the (house) of a foreign woman and eats on a foreign sage,
ਹੋ ਪਾਪ ਕੁੰਡ ਕੇ ਮਾਹਿ ਪਰਤ ਸੋ ਧਾਇ ਕਰਿ ॥੨੦॥
ho paap kundd ke maeh parat so dhaae kar |20|He also falls into the pit of sin. 20.
ਨਾਹਿ ਨਾਹਿ ਪੁਨਿ ਕੁਅਰ ਐਸ ਉਚਰਤ ਭਯੋ ॥
naeh naeh pun kuar aais ucharat bhayo |Still that virgin kept saying 'no no no'.
ਬਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਸਜਿਨ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਗਯੋ ॥
ban tan sajin singaar tarun ke grih gayo |But after getting dressed and beautified, he went to (that) lady's house.
ਬਾਲ ਅਧਿਕ ਰਿਸ ਭਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
baal adhik ris bharee charitr bichaariyo |So the angry woman thought of a character
ਹੋ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੋ ਸਹਿਤ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਹਨਿ ਡਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੨੧॥
ho maat pitaa ko sahit mitr han ddaariyo |21|And killed the friend along with the parents. 21.
ਕਬਿਯੋ ਬਾਚ ॥
kabiyo baach |The poet says:
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਕਾਮਾਤੁਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਜੋ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਭਜਿ ਕਹੈ ਬਨਾਇ ॥
kaamaatur hvai jo tarun muhi bhaj kahai banaae |Lust is eager for the woman to say 'Enjoy me'.
ਤਾਹਿ ਭਜੈ ਜੋ ਨਾਹਿ ਜਨ ਨਰਕ ਪਰੈ ਪੁਨਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੨੨॥
taeh bhajai jo naeh jan narak parai pun jaae |22|So the person who does not give him alms, he again falls into hell. 22.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |adamant:
ਕੁਅਰਿ ਕਟਾਰੀ ਕਾਢਿ ਸੁ ਕਰ ਭੀਤਰ ਲਈ ॥
kuar kattaaree kaadt su kar bheetar lee |Kumari took out the knife and took it in her hand
ਪਿਤੁ ਕੇ ਉਰ ਹਨਿ ਕਢਿ ਮਾਤ ਕੇ ਉਰ ਦਈ ॥
pit ke ur han kadt maat ke ur dee |And hit the father in the chest. (Then from there) took it out and hit it in the mother's chest
ਖੰਡ ਖੰਡ ਨਿਜ ਪਾਨ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੇ ਕੋਟਿ ਕਰਿ ॥
khandd khandd nij paan pitaa ke kott kar |And with his own hand he broke many of his father's wounds.
ਹੋ ਭੀਤਿ ਕੁਅਰ ਕੇ ਤੀਰ ਜਾਤ ਭੀ ਗਾਡ ਕਰਿ ॥੨੩॥
ho bheet kuar ke teer jaat bhee gaadd kar |23|She passed them under the wall and then went to Kumar. 23.
ਪਹਿਰ ਭਗੌਹੇ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਜਾਤ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਪੈ ਭਈ ॥
pahir bhagauahe basatr jaat nrip pai bhee |She dressed in saffron and went to the king.
ਸੁਤ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਭਾਖ ਬਾਤ ਤਿਹ ਤਿਤੁ ਦਈ ॥
sut kee ih bidh bhaakh baat tih tith dee |He told him about his son in this way.
ਰਾਇ ਪੂਤ ਤਵ ਮੋਰਿ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਛਬਿ ਲੁਭਧਿਯੋ ॥
raae poot tav mor nirakh chhab lubhadhiyo |O Rajan! Seeing my form, your son has been tempted.
ਹੋ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੋ ਤਾਤ ਬਾਧਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਧਿ ਕਿਯੋ ॥੨੪॥
ho taa te mero taat baadh kar badh kiyo |24|That is why my father has been tied and killed. 24.
ਖੰਡ ਖੰਡ ਕਰਿ ਗਾਡਿ ਭੀਤਿ ਤਰ ਰਾਖਿਯੋ ॥
khandd khandd kar gaadd bheet tar raakhiyo |It has been cut into pieces and placed under the wall.
ਬਚਨ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੌ ਭਾਖਿਯੋ ॥
bachan achaanak ih bidh nrip sau bhaakhiyo |(Then) said the king suddenly in this manner,
ਰਾਇ ਨ੍ਯਾਇ ਕਰਿ ਚਲਿ ਕੈ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੈ ॥
raae nayaae kar chal kai aap nihaariyai |O Rajan! Judge, go and see for yourself.
ਹੋ ਨਿਕਸੇ ਹਨਿਯੈ ਯਾਹਿ ਨ ਮੋਹਿ ਸੰਘਾਰਿਯੈ ॥੨੫॥
ho nikase haniyai yaeh na mohi sanghaariyai |25|If (the father's body) comes out, then kill him, otherwise kill me. 25.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਪਤਿ ਮਾਰੇ ਕੀ ਜਬ ਸੁਨੀ ਮੋਰਿ ਮਾਤ ਧੁਨਿ ਕਾਨ ॥
pat maare kee jab sunee mor maat dhun kaan |When my mother heard about her husband's death,
ਮਾਰਿ ਮਰੀ ਜਮਧਰ ਤਬੈ ਸੁਰਪੁਰ ਕੀਅਸਿ ਪਯਾਨ ॥੨੬॥
maar maree jamadhar tabai surapur keeas payaan |26|So at that moment she froze and died and went to heaven. 26.
ਸੁਨਿ ਰਾਜਾ ਐਸੋ ਬਚਨ ਬ੍ਯਾਕੁਲ ਉਠਿਯੋ ਰਿਸਾਇ ॥
sun raajaa aaiso bachan bayaakul utthiyo risaae |The king was distraught after hearing these words and got up in anger
