Meanwhile, Rukmi thought of gambling
Rukmi thought of gambling and he invited Balram for it.2163.
SWAYYA
Poet Shyam (says) Then Rukmi made a gambling game with Balaram.
Rukmi began to play gambling with Balram and many of the kings who were standing there, placed their infinite wealth on stake
All the stakes were for Balaram, (but Sri Krishna) said thus saying that Rukmi's stakes were staked.
When Rukmi made use of his bet, talking from the side of Balram, all of them giggled, Krishna was pleased, but Balram got infuriated.2164.
CHAUPAI
Thus teased many times,
In this way, being irritated for several times, Balram was highly enraged
(He) got up and held a mace in his hand
He took his mace in his mace in his hand and beat all the kings.2165.
The kings have been knocked down with great enthusiasm.
He killed many kings and they fell unconscious on the earth
They are lying down soaked in blood.
Being saturated with blood, they appeared roaming and intoxicated in spring.2166.
Balram roams in them as a ghost
Amongst all of them Balram was roaming like a ghost like Kali on the doomsday
(or else) as Yamaraj comes with a rod,
He appeared like Yama carrying his staff.2167.
(From the other side) Rukmi also stood holding the mace.
Rukmi took his mace and stood up and became dreadfully angry
(He) did not run away, but came forward and stood firm.
He did not run away and coming in front of Balram began to fight with him.2168.
Then Balaram struck him (Rukmi) with a mace.
When Balram struck a blow of his mace on him, he also in great fury struck his mace on Balram
(Both) blood began to flow and both became red (with blood).
Both became red with the flow of blood and appeared like the manifestations of anger.2169.
DOHRA
A warrior was laughing on seeing it, while grinning
Leaving his fighting with Rukmi, Balram challenged him and fell upon him.2170.
SWAYYA
Balram, with his mace, broke all his teeth
He uprooted both of his whiskers and the blood oozed out of them
Then Balram kill many warriors
He again began to fight with Rukmi, saying, “I shall kill you.”2171.
Poet Shyam says, Balaram fell down on Rukmi with increasing anger in his heart.
In great fury, and his hair standing, on their ends, and taking his powerful mace in his hand, Balram fell upon Rukmi
Another warrior also came forward from the other side and a dreadful fight ensued amongst them
Both the warriors fell down unconscious and wounded amongst the other wounded.2172.
CHAUPAI
They fought a two-hour war.
The battle was fought there for about half the day and none of them could kill the other one
Both fell down on the ground in panic.
Being greatly agitated, both the warriors fell down upon the earth like the living dead.2173.
