ਏਕ ਗਏ ਕੁਮਲਾਇ ਪਰਾਇ ਕੈ ਏਕਨ ਕੋ ਧਰਕਿਓ ਤਨਿ ਹੀਆ ॥
ek ge kumalaae paraae kai ekan ko dharakio tan heea |Seeing this and shriveling, some of the demons, being perturbed, have run away, with great heart-beat.,
ਚੰਡ ਕੇ ਬਾਨ ਕਿਧੋ ਕਰ ਭਾਨਹਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਕੈ ਦੈਤ ਗਈ ਦੁਤਿ ਦੀਆ ॥੧੫੦॥
chandd ke baan kidho kar bhaaneh dekh kai dait gee dut deea |150|Are the arrow of Chadi like the rays of the sun?, seeing which the light of the demon-lamp hath become dim.150.,
ਲੈ ਕਰ ਮੈ ਅਸਿ ਕੋਪ ਭਈ ਅਤਿ ਧਾਰ ਮਹਾ ਬਲ ਕੋ ਰਨ ਪਾਰਿਓ ॥
lai kar mai as kop bhee at dhaar mahaa bal ko ran paario |Holding her sword in her hand, she grew furious and with great force, waged a terrible war.,
ਦਉਰ ਕੈ ਠਉਰ ਹਤੇ ਬਹੁ ਦਾਨਵ ਏਕ ਗਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਬਡੋ ਰਨਿ ਮਾਰਿਓ ॥
daur kai tthaur hate bahu daanav ek geindr baddo ran maario |Moving swiftly from her place, she killed many demons and destroyed a very big elephant in the battlefield.,
ਕਉਤਕਿ ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੋ ਰਨ ਪੇਖਿ ਤਬੈ ਕਬਿ ਇਉ ਮਨ ਮਧਿ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਓ ॥
kautak taa chhab ko ran pekh tabai kab iau man madh bichaario |Seeing that elegant in the battlefield, the poet imagines,
ਸਾਗਰ ਬਾਧਨ ਕੇ ਸਮਏ ਨਲ ਮਾਨੋ ਪਹਾਰ ਉਖਾਰ ਕੇ ਡਾਰਿਓ ॥੧੫੧॥
saagar baadhan ke same nal maano pahaar ukhaar ke ddaario |151|That in order to construct the bridge on the sea, Nal and Neel have thrown the mountain after uprooting it. 151.,

ਮਾਰ ਜਬੈ ਸੈਨਾ ਲਈ ਤਬੈ ਦੈਤ ਇਹ ਕੀਨ ॥
maar jabai sainaa lee tabai dait ih keen |When his army was killed by Chandi, Raktavija did this:,
ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰ ਕਰਿ ਚੰਡਿ ਕੇ ਬਧਿਬੇ ਕੋ ਮਨ ਦੀਨ ॥੧੫੨॥
sasatr dhaar kar chandd ke badhibe ko man deen |152|He equipped himself with his weapons and thought of killing the goddess in his mind.152.,
ਸ੍ਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਬਾਹਨਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਭਇਆਨਕ ਰੂਪ ਲਖਿਓ ਸਭ ਦੈਤ ਮਹਾ ਡਰ ਪਾਇਓ ॥
baahan singh bheaanak roop lakhio sabh dait mahaa ddar paaeio |Seeing the dreadful form of Chandi (whose vehicle is the lion). All the demons were filled with awe.,
ਸੰਖ ਲੀਏ ਕਰਿ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਅਉ ਬਕ੍ਰ ਸਰਾਸਨ ਪਤ੍ਰ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਨਾਇਓ ॥
sankh lee kar chakr aau bakr saraasan patr bachitr banaaeio |She manifested herself in queer form, holding the conch, disc and bow in her hand.,
ਧਾਇ ਭੁਜਾ ਬਲ ਆਪਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਤਿਨ ਯੌ ਅਤਿ ਜੁਧੁ ਮਚਾਇਓ ॥
dhaae bhujaa bal aapan hvai ham so tin yau at judh machaaeio |Rasktavija moved forward and knowing his superb strength, he challenged the goddess for a fight.,
ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੈ ਸ੍ਰਉਣਤ ਬਿੰਦ ਕਹੈ ਰਨਿ ਇਆਹੀ ਤੇ ਚੰਡਿਕਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਾਇਓ ॥੧੫੩॥
krodh kai sraunat bind kahai ran eaahee te chanddikaa naam kahaaeio |153|And said, “Thou has named thyself as Chandika come forward to fight with me.”153.,
ਮਾਰਿ ਲਇਓ ਦਲਿ ਅਉਰ ਭਜਿਓ ਤਬ ਕੋਪ ਕੇ ਆਪਨ ਹੀ ਸੁ ਭਿਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
maar leio dal aaur bhajio tab kop ke aapan hee su bhirio hai |When the army of Raktavija was was destroyed or ran away, then in great fury, he himself came forward to fight.,
ਚੰਡਿ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਿ ਸੋ ਜੁਧੁ ਕਰਿਓ ਅਸਿ ਹਾਥਿ ਛੁਟਿਓ ਮਨ ਨਾਹਿ ਗਿਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
chandd prachandd so judh kario as haath chhuttio man naeh girio hai |He fought a very fierce battle with Chandika and (while fighting) his sword fell down from his hand, but he did not lose heart.,
ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕੁਵੰਡ ਕਰੰ ਬਲ ਧਾਰ ਕੈ ਸ੍ਰੋਨ ਸਮੂਹ ਮੈ ਐਸੇ ਤਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
lai ke kuvandd karan bal dhaar kai sron samooh mai aaise tario hai |Taking the bow in hand and recouping his strength, he is swimming in the ocean of blood like this,
ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰ ਮਥਿਓ ਮਾਨੋ ਮੇਰ ਕੋ ਮਧਿ ਧਰਿਓ ਸੁ ਫਿਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥੧੫੪॥
dev adev samundr mathio maano mer ko madh dhario su firio hai |154|As though he wass the Sumeru mountain like the one used at the time of churning of ocean by the gods and demons.154.,
ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਕੈ ਜੁਧ ਕੇ ਦੈਤ ਬਲੀ ਨਦ ਸ੍ਰੋਨ ਕੋ ਤੈਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਰ ਪਧਾਰਿਓ ॥
krudh kai judh ke dait balee nad sron ko tair ke paar padhaario |The powerful demon waged the war with great anger and swam over and crossed the ocean of blood.,
ਲੈ ਕਰਵਾਰ ਅਉ ਢਾਰ ਸੰਭਾਰ ਕੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੋ ਦਉਰ ਕੈ ਜਾਇ ਹਕਾਰਿਓ ॥
lai karavaar aau dtaar sanbhaar kai singh ko daur kai jaae hakaario |Holding his sword and controlling his shield, he ran forward and challenged the lion.,
ਆਵਤ ਪੇਖ ਕੈ ਚੰਡਿ ਕੁਵੰਡ ਤੇ ਬਾਨ ਲਗਿਓ ਤਨ ਮੂਰਛ ਪਾਰਿਓ ॥
aavat pekh kai chandd kuvandd te baan lagio tan moorachh paario |Seeing his coming, Chandi shot an arrow from her bow, which caused the demon to become unconscious and fall down.,
ਰਾਮ ਕੇ ਭ੍ਰਾਤਨ ਜਿਉ ਹਨੂਮਾਨ ਕੋ ਸੈਲ ਸਮੇਤ ਧਰਾ ਪਰ ਡਾਰਿਓ ॥੧੫੫॥
raam ke bhraatan jiau hanoomaan ko sail samet dharaa par ddaario |155|It seemed that the brother of Rama (Bharat) had caused Hanuman to fall down with he mountain.155.,
ਫੇਰ ਉਠਿਓ ਕਰਿ ਲੈ ਕਰਵਾਰ ਕੋ ਚੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਸਿਉ ਜੁਧ ਕਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
fer utthio kar lai karavaar ko chandd prachandd siau judh kario hai |The demon got up again and holding the sword in his hand he waged the war with powerful Chandi.,
ਘਾਇਲ ਕੈ ਤਨ ਕੇਹਰ ਤੇ ਬਹਿ ਸ੍ਰਉਨ ਸਮੂਹ ਧਰਾਨਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
ghaaeil kai tan kehar te beh sraun samooh dharaan pario hai |He wounded the lion, whose blood flowed enormously and fell upon the earth.,
