namo anbikaa janbhahaa kaaratakrayaanee |O Ambika! Thou art the killer of the demon Jambh, the power of Kartikeya
ਮ੍ਰਿੜਾਲੀ ਕਪਰਦੀ ਨਮੋ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਵਾਨੀ ॥੨੬॥੨੪੫॥
mrirraalee kaparadee namo sree bhavaanee |26|245|And the crusher of the dead, O Bhavani! I salute Thee.26.245.
ਨਮੋ ਦੇਵ ਅਰਦ੍ਰਯਾਰਦਨੀ ਦੁਸਟ ਹੰਤੀ ॥
namo dev aradrayaaradanee dusatt hantee |O the destroyer of the enemies of the gods,
ਸਿਤਾ ਅਸਿਤਾ ਰਾਜ ਕ੍ਰਾਤੀ ਅਨੰਤੀ ॥
sitaa asitaa raaj kraatee anantee |White-black and red-coloured.
ਜੁਆਲਾ ਜਯੰਤੀ ਅਲਾਸੀ ਅਨੰਦੀ ॥
juaalaa jayantee alaasee anandee |O fire! the enchancer of bliss by conquering illusion.
ਨਮੋ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੀ ਹਰੀ ਸੀ ਮੁਕੰਦੀ ॥੨੭॥੨੪੬॥
namo paarabrahamee haree see mukandee |27|246|Thou art the maya of Unmanifested Brahman and the Shakti of Shiva! I salute Thee.27.246.
ਜਯੰਤੀ ਨਮੋ ਮੰਗਲਾ ਕਾਲਕਾਯੰ ॥
jayantee namo mangalaa kaalakaayan |Thou art the bestower of cheerfulness to all, the conqueror of all and the manifestation of Kal (death).
ਕਪਾਲੀ ਨਮੋ ਭਦ੍ਰਕਾਲੀ ਸਿਵਾਯੰ ॥
kapaalee namo bhadrakaalee sivaayan |O Kapali! (the goddess carrying begging bowl), Shiva-Shakti! (the power of Shiva) and Bhadrakali!
ਦੁਗਾਯੰ ਛਿਮਾਯੰ ਨਮੋ ਧਾਤ੍ਰੀਏਯੰ ॥
dugaayan chhimaayan namo dhaatreeyan |Thou obtainest satisfaction by piercing Durga.
ਸੁਆਹਾ ਸੁਧਾਯੰ ਨਮੋ ਸੀਤਲੇਯੰ ॥੨੮॥੨੪੭॥
suaahaa sudhaayan namo seetaleyan |28|247|Thou art pure fire-manifestation and also cold-incarnate, I salute Thee.28.247.
ਨਮੋ ਚਰਬਣੀ ਸਰਬ ਧਰਮੰ ਧੁਜਾਯੰ ॥
namo charabanee sarab dharaman dhujaayan |O the masticator of the demons, the manifestation of the banners of all religions
ਨਮੋ ਹਿੰਗੁਲਾ ਪਿੰਗੁਲਾ ਅੰਬਿਕਾਯੰ ॥
namo hingulaa pingulaa anbikaayan |The source of the power of Hinglaj and Pinglaj, I salute Thee.
ਨਮੋ ਦੀਰਘ ਦਾੜਾ ਨਮੋ ਸਿਆਮ ਬਰਣੀ ॥
namo deeragh daarraa namo siaam baranee |O the one of the dreadful teeth, the black complexioned,
ਨਮੋ ਅੰਜਨੀ ਗੰਜਨੀ ਦੈਤ ਦਰਣੀ ॥੨੯॥੨੪੮॥
namo anjanee ganjanee dait daranee |29|248|Anjani, the masher of demons! Salute Thee. 29.248.
ਨਮੋ ਅਰਧ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਾਇਣੀ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਚੂੜੰ ॥
namo aradh chandraaeinee chandrachoorran |O the adopter of half-moon and wearer of the moon as an ornament
ਨਮੋ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਊਰਧਾ ਨਮੋ ਦਾੜ ਗੂੜੰ ॥
namo indr aooradhaa namo daarr goorran |Thou hast the power of clouds and hast dreadful jaws.
ਸਸੰ ਸੇਖਰੀ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਾਲਾ ਭਵਾਨੀ ॥
sasan sekharee chandrabhaalaa bhavaanee |Thy forehead is like the moon, O Bhavani!
ਭਵੀ ਭੈਹਰੀ ਭੂਤਰਾਟੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨੀ ॥੩੦॥੨੪੯॥
bhavee bhaiharee bhootaraattee kripaanee |30|249|Thou art also Bhairavi and Bhutani, Thou art the wielder of the sword, I salute Thee.30.249.
ਕਲੀ ਕਾਰਣੀ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਮਛ੍ਰਯਾ ॥
kalee kaaranee karam karataa kamachhrayaa |O Kamakhya and Durga! Thou art the cause and deed of Kaliyuga (the iron age).
ਪਰੀ ਪਦਮਿਨੀ ਪੂਰਣੀ ਸਰਬ ਇਛ੍ਯਾ ॥
paree padaminee pooranee sarab ichhayaa |Like Apsara (heavenly damsels) and the Padmini women, Thou art the fulfiller of all desires.
ਜਯਾ ਜੋਗਣੀ ਜਗ ਕਰਤਾ ਜਯੰਤੀ ॥
jayaa joganee jag karataa jayantee |Thou art the conqueror Yogini of all and performer of Yajnas (sacrifices).
ਸੁਭਾ ਸੁਆਮਣੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਜਾ ਸਤ੍ਰੂਹੰਤੀ ॥੩੧॥੨੫੦॥
subhaa suaamanee srisattajaa satraoohantee |31|250|Thou art the nature of all substances, Thou art the creator of the world and the destroyer of the enemies.31.250.
ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੀ ਪੁਨੀਤਾ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਪਰੇਯੰ ॥
pavitree puneetaa puraanee pareyan |Thou art pure, holy, ancient, great
ਪ੍ਰਭੀ ਪੂਰਣੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੀ ਅਜੈਯੰ ॥
prabhee pooranee paarabrahamee ajaiyan |Perfect, maya and unconquerable.
ਅਰੂਪੰ ਅਨੂਪੰ ਅਨਾਮੰ ਅਠਾਮੰ ॥
aroopan anoopan anaaman atthaaman |Thou art formless, unique, nameless and abodeless.
ਅਭੀਅੰ ਅਜੀਤੰ ਮਹਾ ਧਰਮ ਧਾਮੰ ॥੩੨॥੨੫੧॥
abheean ajeetan mahaa dharam dhaaman |32|251|Thou art fearless, unconquerable and treasure of the great Dharma.32.251.
ਅਛੇਦੰ ਅਭੇਦੰ ਅਕਰਮੰ ਸੁ ਧਰਮੰ ॥
achhedan abhedan akaraman su dharaman |Thou art indestructible, indistinguishable, deedless and Dhrma-incarnate.
ਨਮੋ ਬਾਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਧਰੇ ਚਰਮ ਬਰਮੰ ॥
namo baan paanee dhare charam baraman |O the holder of the arrow in Thy hand and wearer of the armour, I salute Thee.
ਅਜੇਯੰ ਅਭੇਯੰ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਨਿਤ੍ਰਯੰ ॥
ajeyan abheyan nirankaar nitrayan |Thou art unconquerable, indistinguishable, formless, eternal
ਨਿਰੂਪੰ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੰ ਨਮਿਤ੍ਰਯੰ ਅਕ੍ਰਿਤ੍ਰਯੰ ॥੩੩॥੨੫੨॥
niroopan nirabaanan namitrayan akritrayan |33|252|Shapeless and the cause of nirvana (salvation) and all the works.33.252.
ਗੁਰੀ ਗਉਰਜਾ ਕਾਮਗਾਮੀ ਗੁਪਾਲੀ ॥
guree gaurajaa kaamagaamee gupaalee |Thou art Parbati, fulfiller of the wishes, the power of Krishna
ਬਲੀ ਬੀਰਣੀ ਬਾਵਨਾ ਜਗ੍ਰਯਾ ਜੁਆਲੀ ॥
balee beeranee baavanaa jagrayaa juaalee |Most powerful, the power of Vamana and art like the fire of the Yajna (sacrifice).
ਨਮੋ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਚਰਬਾਇਣੀ ਗਰਬ ਹਰਣੀ ॥
namo satru charabaaeinee garab haranee |O the chewer of the enemies and masher of their pride
ਨਮੋ ਤੋਖਣੀ ਸੋਖਣੀ ਸਰਬ ਭਰਣੀ ॥੩੪॥੨੫੩॥
namo tokhanee sokhanee sarab bharanee |34|253|Sustainer and destroyer in Thy pleasure, I salute Thee.34.253.
ਪਿਲੰਗੀ ਪਵੰਗੀ ਨਮੋ ਚਰਚਿਤੰਗੀ ॥
pilangee pavangee namo charachitangee |O the rider of the steed-like lion
ਨਮੋ ਭਾਵਨੀ ਭੂਤ ਹੰਤਾ ਭੜਿੰਗੀ ॥
namo bhaavanee bhoot hantaa bharringee |O Bhavani of beautiful limbs! Thou art the destroyer of all engaged in the war.
ਨਮੋ ਭੀਮਿ ਸਰੂਪਾ ਨਮੋ ਲੋਕ ਮਾਤਾ ॥
namo bheem saroopaa namo lok maataa |O the mother of the universe having large body!
ਭਵੀ ਭਾਵਨੀ ਭਵਿਖ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥੩੫॥੨੫੪॥
bhavee bhaavanee bhavikhrayaat bidhaataa |35|254|Thou art the power of Yama, the giver of the fruit of actions performed in the world, Thou art also the power of Brahma! I salute Thee.35.254.
ਪ੍ਰਭੀ ਪੂਰਣੀ ਪਰਮ ਰੂਪੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
prabhee pooranee param roopan pavitree |O the most pure power of God!
ਪਰੀ ਪੋਖਣੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੀ ਗਇਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
paree pokhanee paarabrahamee geitree |Thou art the maya and Gayatri, sustaining all.
ਜਟੀ ਜੁਆਲ ਪਰਚੰਡ ਮੁੰਡੀ ਚਮੁੰਡੀ ॥
jattee juaal parachandd munddee chamunddee |Thou art Chamunda, the wearer of the necklace of head, Thou art also the fire of the matted locks of Shiva
ਬਰੰਦਾਇਣੀ ਦੁਸਟ ਖੰਡੀ ਅਖੰਡੀ ॥੩੬॥੨੫੫॥
barandaaeinee dusatt khanddee akhanddee |36|255|Thou art the donor of boons and destroyer of tyrants, but Thou Thyself ever remain indivisible.36.255.
ਸਬੈ ਸੰਤ ਉਬਾਰੀ ਬਰੰ ਬ੍ਰਯੂਹ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
sabai sant ubaaree baran brayooh daataa |O the Saviour of all the saints and the donor of boons to all
ਨਮੋ ਤਾਰਣੀ ਕਾਰਣੀ ਲੋਕ ਮਾਤਾ ॥
namo taaranee kaaranee lok maataa |The one who ferries across all over the terrible sea of life, the primary cause of all causes, O Bhavani! The mother of the universe.
ਨਮਸਤ੍ਯੰ ਨਮਸਤ੍ਯੰ ਨਮਸਤ੍ਯੰ ਭਵਾਨੀ ॥
namasatayan namasatayan namasatayan bhavaanee |I salute Thee again and again, O the manifestation of the sword!
ਸਦਾ ਰਾਖ ਲੈ ਮੁਹਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨੀ ॥੩੭॥੨੫੬॥
sadaa raakh lai muhi kripaa kai kripaanee |37|256|Protect me ever with Thy Grace.37.256.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕੇ ਚੰਡੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਦੇਵੀ ਜੂ ਕੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਬਰਨਨੰ ਨਾਮ ਸਪਤਮੋ ਧਿਆਯ ਸੰਪੂਰਨਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੭॥
eit sree bachitr naattake chanddee charitre devee joo kee usatat barananan naam sapatamo dhiaay sanpooranam sat subham sat |7|Here ends the Seventh Chapter entitled ‘The Eulogy of the Goddess’ of Chandi of Chandi Charitra in BACHITTAR NATAK.7.
ਅਥ ਚੰਡੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਉਸਤਤ ਬਰਨਨੰ ॥

ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang prayaat chhand |BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA
ਭਰੈ ਜੋਗਣੀ ਪਤ੍ਰ ਚਉਸਠ ਚਾਰੰ ॥
bharai joganee patr chausatth chaaran |The Yoginis have filled their beautiful vessels (with blood),
ਚਲੀ ਠਾਮ ਠਾਮੰ ਡਕਾਰੰ ਡਕਾਰੰ ॥
chalee tthaam tthaaman ddakaaran ddakaaran |And are moving at various places here and there belching thereby.
ਭਰੇ ਨੇਹ ਗੇਹੰ ਗਏ ਕੰਕ ਬੰਕੰ ॥
bhare neh gehan ge kank bankan |The comely crows and vultures having liking for that place have also departed for their homes,
ਰੁਲੇ ਸੂਰਬੀਰੰ ਅਹਾੜੰ ਨ੍ਰਿਸੰਕੰ ॥੧॥੨੫੭॥
rule soorabeeran ahaarran nrisankan |1|257|And the warriors have been left to decay in the battlefield undoubtedly.1.257.
ਚਲੇ ਨਾਰਦਉ ਹਾਥਿ ਬੀਨਾ ਸੁਹਾਏ ॥
chale naardau haath beenaa suhaae |Narada is moving with vina in his hand,
ਬਨੇ ਬਾਰਦੀ ਡੰਕ ਡਉਰੂ ਬਜਾਏ ॥
bane baaradee ddank ddauroo bajaae |And Shiva, the rider of the Bull, playing his tabor, is looking elegant.
ਗਿਰੇ ਬਾਜਿ ਗਾਜੀ ਗਜੀ ਬੀਰ ਖੇਤੰ ॥
gire baaj gaajee gajee beer khetan |In the battlefield, the thundering heroes have fallen alongwith the elephants and horses
ਰੁਲੇ ਤਛ ਮੁਛੰ ਨਚੇ ਭੂਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤੰ ॥੨॥੨੫੮॥
rule tachh muchhan nache bhoot pretan |2|258|And seeing the chopped heroes rolling in dust, the ghosts and goblins are dancing.2.258.
ਨਚੇ ਬੀਰ ਬੈਤਾਲ ਅਧੰ ਕਮਧੰ ॥
nache beer baitaal adhan kamadhan |The blind trunks and brave Batital are dancing and the fighting warriors alongwith the dancers,
ਬਧੇ ਬਧ ਗੋਪਾ ਗੁਲਿਤ੍ਰਾਣ ਬਧੰ ॥
badhe badh gopaa gulitraan badhan |With the small bells tied around waists have also been killed.
ਭਏ ਸਾਧੁ ਸੰਬੂਹ ਭੀਤੰ ਅਭੀਤੇ ॥
bhe saadh sanbooh bheetan abheete |All the resolute assemblies of saints have become fearless.
ਨਮੋ ਲੋਕ ਮਾਤਾ ਭਲੇ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਜੀਤੇ ॥੩॥੨੫੯॥
namo lok maataa bhale satru jeete |3|259|O the mother of the people! Thou hast performed a nice task by conquering the enemies, I salute Thee.3.259.
ਪੜੇ ਮੂੜ ਯਾ ਕੋ ਧਨੰ ਧਾਮ ਬਾਢੇ ॥
parre moorr yaa ko dhanan dhaam baadte |If any foolish person recites this (poem), his wealth and property will increase here.
ਸੁਨੈ ਸੂਮ ਸੋਫੀ ਲਰੈ ਜੁਧ ਗਾਢੈ ॥
sunai soom sofee larai judh gaadtai |If anyone, not participating in the war, listens to it, he will be bestowed with the power of fighting. (in battle).
ਜਗੈ ਰੈਣਿ ਜੋਗੀ ਜਪੈ ਜਾਪ ਯਾ ਕੋ ॥
jagai rain jogee japai jaap yaa ko |And that Yogi, who repeats it, keeping awake throughout the night,
ਧਰੈ ਪਰਮ ਜੋਗੰ ਲਹੈ ਸਿਧਤਾ ਕੋ ॥੪॥੨੬੦॥
dharai param jogan lahai sidhataa ko |4|260|He will attain supreme Yoga and miraculous powers.4.260.
ਪੜੈ ਯਾਹਿ ਬਿਦ੍ਯਾਰਥੀ ਬਿਦ੍ਯਾ ਹੇਤੰ ॥
parrai yaeh bidayaarathee bidayaa hetan |Any student, who reads it for the attainment of knowledge,
ਲਹੈ ਸਰਬ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਨ ਕੋ ਮਦ ਚੇਤੰ ॥
lahai sarab saasatraan ko mad chetan |He will become knowledgeable of all the Shastras.
ਜਪੈ ਜੋਗ ਸੰਨ੍ਯਾਸ ਬੈਰਾਗ ਕੋਈ ॥
japai jog sanayaas bairaag koee |Anyone either a Yogi or a Sanyasi or a Vairagi, whosoever reads it.
ਤਿਸੈ ਸਰਬ ਪੁੰਨ੍ਰਯਾਨ ਕੋ ਪੁੰਨਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੫॥੨੬੧॥
tisai sarab punrayaan ko pun hoee |5|261|He will be blessed with all the virtues.5.261.

ਜੇ ਜੇ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਕੋ ਨਿਤ ਉਠਿ ਧਿਐਹੈ ਸੰਤ ॥
je je tumare dhiaan ko nit utth dhiaaihai sant |All those saints, who will ever meditate on Thee
ਅੰਤ ਲਹੈਗੇ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵਹਿਗੇ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥੬॥੨੬੨॥
ant lahaige mukat fal paavahige bhagavant |6|262|They will attain salvation at the end and will realize the Lord.6.262.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕੇ ਚੰਡੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਚੰਡੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਬਰਨਨੰ ਨਾਮ ਅਸਟਮੋ ਧਿਆਯ ਸੰਪੂਰਨਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੮॥

ik oankaar vaahiguroo jee kee fatah |The Lord is One and the Victory is of the True Guru.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਭਗੌਤੀ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਕੈ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਈਂ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
pritham bhagauatee simar kai gur naanak leen dhiaae |In the beginning I remember Bhagauti, the Lord (Whose symbol is the sword and then I remember Guru Nanak.
ਫਿਰ ਅੰਗਦ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਅਮਰਦਾਸੁ ਰਾਮਦਾਸੈ ਹੋਈਂ ਸਹਾਇ ॥
fir angad gur te amaradaas raamadaasai hoeen sahaae |Then I remember Guru Arjan, Guru Amar Das and Guru Ram Das, may they be helpful to me.
ਅਰਜਨ ਹਰਿਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨੋ ਸਿਮਰੌ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿਰਾਇ ॥
arajan harigobind no simarau sree hariraae |Then I remember Guru Arjan, Guru Hargobind and Guru Har Rai.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਜਿਸ ਡਿਠੇ ਸਭਿ ਦੁਖਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
sree harikrisan dhiaaeeai jis dditthe sabh dukh jaae |(After them) I remember Guru Har Kishan, by whose sight all the sufferings vanish.
ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸਿਮਰਿਐ ਘਰ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਆਵੈ ਧਾਇ ॥
teg bahaadar simariaai ghar nau nidh aavai dhaae |Then I do remember Guru Tegh Bahadur, though whose Grace the nine treasures come running to my house.
ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਹੋਇ ਸਹਾਇ ॥੧॥
sabh thaaeen hoe sahaae |1|May they be helpful to me everywhere.1.

ਖੰਡਾ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੈ ਸਾਜ ਕੈ ਜਿਨ ਸਭ ਸੈਸਾਰੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
khanddaa prithamai saaj kai jin sabh saisaar upaaeaa |At first the Lord created the double-edged sword and then He created the whole world.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹੇਸ ਸਾਜਿ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਦਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਰਚਾਇ ਬਣਾਇਆ ॥

ਤੈ ਹੀ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਾਜਿ ਕੈ ਦੈਤਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਸੁ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥

ਤੈਥੋਂ ਹੀ ਬਲੁ ਰਾਮ ਲੈ ਨਾਲ ਬਾਣਾ ਦਹਸਿਰੁ ਘਾਇਆ ॥

ਤੈਥੋਂ ਹੀ ਬਲੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਲੈ ਕੰਸੁ ਕੇਸੀ ਪਕੜਿ ਗਿਰਾਇਆ ॥

ਬਡੇ ਬਡੇ ਮੁਨਿ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਕਈ ਜੁਗ ਤਿਨੀ ਤਨੁ ਤਾਇਆ ॥
badde badde mun devate kee jug tinee tan taaeaa |The great sages and gods, even practising great austerities for several ages
ਕਿਨੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
kinee teraa ant na paaeaa |2|None could know Thy end.2.
ਸਾਧੂ ਸਤਜੁਗੁ ਬੀਤਿਆ ਅਧ ਸੀਲੀ ਤ੍ਰੇਤਾ ਆਇਆ ॥
