ਕਰਿਯੋ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਜੁਧ ਭਾਤੰ ਅਨੇਕੰ ॥੪੫॥
kariyo kop kai judh bhaatan anekan |45|On the other side Daksha was alone on this side, Rudra was also alone both of them highly infuriated, waged the war in many ways.45.
ਗਿਰਿਯੋ ਜਾਨੁ ਕੂਟਸਥਲੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਮੂਲੰ ॥
giriyo jaan koottasathalee brichh moolan |Just as a broken branch falls from the top of a mountain,
ਗਿਰਿਯੋ ਦਛ ਤੈਸੇ ਕਟਿਯੋ ਸੀਸ ਸੂਲੰ ॥
giriyo dachh taise kattiyo sees soolan |Rudra chopped the head Daksha with his trident and he fell down like an uprooted tree.
ਪਰਿਯੋ ਰਾਜ ਰਾਜੰ ਭਯੋ ਦੇਹ ਘਾਤੰ ॥
pariyo raaj raajan bhayo deh ghaatan |When Daksha, the king of kings, was slain, his lying body (appeared to be)
ਹਨਿਯੋ ਜਾਨ ਬਜ੍ਰੰ ਭਯੋ ਪਬ ਪਾਤੰ ॥੪੬॥
haniyo jaan bajran bhayo pab paatan |46|Daksha, the king of kings, fell down after his head was cut and he looked like the fallen mountain, whose wings had been cut by Indra with his weapon Vajra.46.
ਗਯੋ ਗਰਬ ਸਰਬੰ ਭਜੋ ਸੂਰਬੀਰੰ ॥
gayo garab saraban bhajo soorabeeran |Everyone's pride ended, Surveer ran away
ਚਲਿਯੋ ਭਾਜ ਅੰਤਹਪੁਰ ਹੁਐ ਅਧੀਰੰ ॥
chaliyo bhaaj antahapur huaai adheeran |All the pride of Daksha was shattered and the mighty Rudra destroyed him completely.
ਗਰੇ ਡਾਰ ਅੰਚਰ ਪਰੈ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
gare ddaar anchar parai rudr paayo |Put palu in the mouth and fell at the feet of Shiva
ਅਹੋ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕੀਜੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕੈ ਸਹਾਯੰ ॥੪੭॥
aho rudr keejai kripaa kai sahaayan |47|Then Rudra, getting impatient, speedily came to Antaipura, where everyone came with the cloth around his neck and falling at his feet said, “O Rudra be merciful to us, protect and help us”.47.

ਹਮ ਤੁਮਰੋ ਹਰਿ ਓਜ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ॥
ham tumaro har oj na jaanaa |O Shiva! We have not known your strength,
ਤੁਮ ਹੋ ਮਹਾ ਤਪੀ ਬਲਵਾਨਾ ॥
tum ho mahaa tapee balavaanaa |“O Shiva we have not recognized thee, you are supremely mighty and an ascetic.”
ਸੁਨਤ ਬਚਨ ਭਏ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਾ ॥
sunat bachan bhe rudr kripaalaa |As soon as he heard (this) word, Shiva became kripalu
ਅਜਾ ਸੀਸ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਜੋਰਿ ਉਤਾਲਾ ॥੪੮॥
ajaa sees nrip jor utaalaa |48|Hearing these words, Rudra become gracious and he caused Daksha to become alive again and get up.48.
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕਾਲ ਕੋ ਧਰਾ ਧਿਆਨਾ ॥
rudr kaal ko dharaa dhiaanaa |Shiva noticed the 'Kal Purakh'
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਜੀਯਾਇ ਨਰੇਸ ਉਠਾਨਾ ॥
bahur jeeyaae nares utthaanaa |Then Rudra meditated upon the Lord and restored the life of all other kings.
ਰਾਜ ਸੁਤਾ ਪਤਿ ਸਕਲ ਜੀਯਾਏ ॥
raaj sutaa pat sakal jeeyaae |Then Daksha killed all the husbands of the king's daughters.
ਕਉਤਕ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਸੰਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਏ ॥੪੯॥
kautak nirakh sant tripataae |49|He restored the life of the husband of all the princesses and seeing this wonderful performance, all the saints were extremely peeased.49.
ਨਾਰਿ ਹੀਨ ਸਿਵ ਕਾਮ ਖਿਝਾਯੋ ॥
naar heen siv kaam khijhaayo |(After the passing away of Sati) Shiva, destitute of a woman, was greatly vexed by lust,
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਸੁੰਭ ਘਨੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
taa te sunbh ghano dukh paayo |The god of love troubled greatly the god Shiva, who was without his consort, with which Shiva remained in great agony.
ਅਧਿਕ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਕਾਮ ਜਰਾਯਸ ॥
adhik kop kai kaam jaraayas |(But in the end) very angry Shiva burnt Kama.
ਬਿਤਨ ਨਾਮ ਤਿਹ ਤਦਿਨ ਕਹਾਯਸ ॥੫੦॥
bitan naam tih tadin kahaayas |50|Being extremely vexed, once in great fury, Shiva reduced Kamdev (the god of love) to ashes and from that day this god was called Anang (body-less).50.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੇ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਦਛ ਬਧਹੀ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਮਹਾਤਮੇ ਗਉਰ ਬਧਹ ਗਿਆਰਵੋ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸੰਪੂਰਣਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੧੧॥
eit sree bachitr naattak granthe rudr prabandh dachh badhahee rudr mahaatame gaur badhah giaaravo avataar sanpooranam sat subham sat |11|End of the description of the Killing of Daksha, the greatness of rudra and the Killing of Gauri (Parvati) in the Rudra incarnation.11.
ਅਥ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਕਥਨੰ ॥
ath jalandhar avataar kathanan |Now begins the description of Jalandhar incarnation:
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਉਤੀ ਜੀ ਸਹਾਇ ॥
sree bhgautee jee sahaae |Let Sri Bhagauti Ji (The Primal Lord) be helpful.

ਵਹੁ ਜੋ ਜਰੀ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕੀ ਦਾਰਾ ॥
vahu jo jaree rudr kee daaraa |She who was burnt in Shiva's wife (havan-kund),
ਤਿਨਿ ਹਿਮ ਗਿਰਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਲਿਯ ਅਵਤਾਰਾ ॥
tin him gir grihi liy avataaraa |After having been burnt and died, the wife of Rudra was born in the house of Himalaya.
ਛੁਟੀ ਬਾਲਤਾ ਜਬ ਸੁਧਿ ਆਈ ॥
chhuttee baalataa jab sudh aaee |When (his) childhood ended and youth came
ਬਹੁਰੋ ਮਿਲੀ ਨਾਥ ਕਹੁ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
bahuro milee naath kahu jaaee |1|After the end of her childhood, when she attained the age of puberty, she was again united with her Lord Shiva.1.
ਜਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲੀ ਰਾਮ ਸੋ ਸੀਤਾ ॥
jih bidh milee raam so seetaa |As Rama and Sita met,
ਜੈਸਕ ਚਤੁਰ ਬੇਦ ਤਨ ਗੀਤਾ ॥
jaisak chatur bed tan geetaa |Just as Sita, on meeting Rama, became one with him just as Gita and Vedic ideology are one
ਜੈਸੇ ਮਿਲਤ ਸਿੰਧ ਤਨ ਗੰਗਾ ॥
jaise milat sindh tan gangaa |As the sea meets the Ganges,
ਤਿਯੋ ਮਿਲਿ ਗਈ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਾ ॥੨॥
tiyo mil gee rudr kai sangaa |2|Just as, on meeting the sea, the Ganges becomes one with the sea, in the same manner, Parvati and Shiva became one.2.
ਜਬ ਤਿਹ ਬ੍ਯਾਹਿ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਘਰਿ ਆਨਾ ॥
jab tih bayaeh rudr ghar aanaa |When she got married, Shiva brought her home
ਨਿਰਖਿ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਤਾਹਿ ਲੁਭਾਨਾ ॥
nirakh jalandhar taeh lubhaanaa |When, after wedding, Rudra brought her to his home, the demon Jalandhar was allured on seeing her
ਦੂਤ ਏਕ ਤਹ ਦੀਯ ਪਠਾਈ ॥
doot ek tah deey patthaaee |He sent an angel
ਲਿਆਉ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਨਾਰਿ ਛਿਨਾਈ ॥੩॥
liaau rudr te naar chhinaaee |3|He sent a messenger , saying this: “Go and bring that women, after seizing her from Rudra.”3.

ਜਲੰਧੁਰ ਬਾਚ ॥
jalandhur baach |Jalandhar said :
ਕੈ ਸਿਵ ਨਾਰਿ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਕੈ ਮਮ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਦੇਹ ਪਠਾਇ ॥
kai siv naar seegaar kai mam grih deh patthaae |"O Shiva! Either adorn your wife and send her to my house,
ਨਾਤਰ ਸੂਲ ਸੰਭਾਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਰਹੁ ਮੁਰਿ ਆਇ ॥੪॥
naatar sool sanbhaar ke sang larahu mur aae |4|Jalandhar told his messenger to say this to Shiva : “O Shiva, either send your bedecked wife to me, or hold up your trident and wage war with me.”4.

ਕਥਾ ਭਈ ਇਹ ਦਿਸ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਾ ॥
kathaa bhee ih dis ih bhaataa |story like this happened here,
ਅਬ ਕਹੋ ਬਿਸਨ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਕੀ ਬਾਤਾ ॥
ab kaho bisan treeyaa kee baataa |How this story occurred? In this context, I relate the story of the wife of Vishnu :
ਬ੍ਰਿੰਦਾਰਿਕ ਦਿਨ ਏਕ ਪਕਾਏ ॥
brindaarik din ek pakaae |Lachhmi had cooked brinjal one day,
ਦੈਤ ਸਭਾ ਤੇ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਬੁਲਾਏ ॥੫॥
dait sabhaa te bisan bulaae |5|One day, he cooked the brinjals in her home and at the same time, Vishnu was called by the assembly of demons, where he went.5.
ਆਇ ਗਯੋ ਤਹ ਨਾਰਦ ਰਿਖਿ ਬਰ ॥
aae gayo tah naarad rikh bar |The great sage Narada satya with hunger
