ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਕੇ ਆਸਨ ਕਰਹਿ ਬਨਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
bhaat bhaat ke aasan kareh banaae kai |They used to do different postures
ਹੋ ਲਪਟਿ ਲਪਟਿ ਦੋਊ ਜਾਹਿ ਪਰਮ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇ ਕੈ ॥੧੫॥
ho lapatt lapatt doaoo jaeh param sukh paae kai |15|And both of them used to get a lot of happiness by hugging each other. 15.
ਕੇਲ ਕਰਤ ਸ੍ਵੈ ਜਾਹਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਉਠਿ ਰਤਿ ਕਰੈ ॥
kel karat svai jaeh bahur utth rat karai |He used to sleep while working and then get up and start doing Rati.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਚਾਤੁਰਤਾ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਉਚਰੈ ॥
bhaat bhaat chaaturataa mukh te ucharai |They used to talk cleverly about each other.
ਤਰੁਨ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਜਬ ਮਿਲੈ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਹਾਰਹੀ ॥
tarun tarun jab milai na koaoo haarahee |When young men and women meet, neither of them loses.
ਹੋ ਬੇਦ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਹੀ ॥੧੬॥
ho bed saasatr sinmrit ih bhaat uchaarahee |16|This kind of thing has been pronounced in Vedas, Shastras and Smritis. 16.
ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਬਾਚ ॥

ਮੈ ਨ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੁਤ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਜੈ ਹੌ ॥
mai na nrip sut ke sang jai hau |I will not go with the king's son.
ਬਿਨ ਦਾਮਨ ਇਹ ਹਾਥ ਬਿਕੈ ਹੌ ॥
bin daaman ih haath bikai hau |I have been sold in his hands without value.
ਧਾਇ ਸੁਤਾ ਤਬ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਹਕਾਰੀ ॥
dhaae sutaa tab kuar hakaaree |Then the Kumari called the daughter of the midwife ('Dhai').
ਤਵਨ ਪਾਲਕੀ ਭੀਤਰ ਡਾਰੀ ॥੧੭॥
tavan paalakee bheetar ddaaree |17|Made him sit in the palanquin. 17.
ਦਿਵਸਰਾਜ ਅਸਤਾਚਲ ਗਯੋ ॥
divasaraaj asataachal gayo |The sun went down
ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀ ਦਿਸਿ ਤੇ ਸਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਯੋ ॥
praachee dis te sas pragattayo |And the moon rose from the east.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੁਤ ਭੇਦ ਪਛਾਨ੍ਯੋ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
nrip sut bhed pachhaanayo naahee |The king's son did not understand the secret
ਤਾਰਨ ਕੀ ਸਮਝੀ ਪਰਛਾਹੀ ॥੧੮॥
taaran kee samajhee parachhaahee |18|And considered (the light) only the shadow of the stars (i.e. it was given only during the night). 18.
ਅਨਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਕੌ ਲੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਗਯੋ ॥
anat triyaa kau lai grih gayo |He went home with the other woman
ਭੇਦ ਨ ਪਸੁ ਪਾਵਤ ਕਛੁ ਭਯੋ ॥
bhed na pas paavat kachh bhayo |And that fool could not discern anything.
ਧਾਇ ਭੇਦ ਸੁਨਿਅਤਿ ਹਰਖਾਨੀ ॥
dhaae bhed suniat harakhaanee |When the midwife found out (this), she was very happy
ਮੋਰੀ ਸੁਤਾ ਕਰੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਰਾਨੀ ॥੧੯॥
moree sutaa karee bidh raanee |19|That my daughter has been made a queen by the bridegroom. 19.

ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਸੁਤ ਸਾਹ ਕੇ ਸਦਨ ਰਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇ ॥
raaj kuar sut saah ke sadan rahee sukh paae |Raj Kumari lived happily in the house of Shah's son
ਘਾਲ ਪਾਲਕੀ ਧਾਇ ਕੀ ਦੁਹਿਤਾ ਦਈ ਪਠਾਇ ॥੨੦॥
ghaal paalakee dhaae kee duhitaa dee patthaae |20|And sent the midwife's daughter in the palanquin. 20.

nadee narabadaa ko rahai nripat chitrarath naam |There lived a king named Chitraratha near Narbatta river
ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਕੇ ਏਸ ਜਿਹ ਜਪਤ ਆਠਹੂੰ ਜਾਮ ॥੧॥
des des ke es jih japat aatthahoon jaam |1|To whom the kings of the country used to pay eight o'clock (i.e. accept submission).1.

ਜਾਨੁਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਦਿਪਤਿ ਕਿਰਣਾਧਰ ॥
jaanuk prabhaa dipat kiranaadhar |Whose beauty is like the sun.
ਚਾਰਿ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਅਤਿ ॥
chaar putr taa ke sundar at |He had four beautiful sons.
ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਬਿਕਟ ਮਤਿ ॥੨॥
soorabeer balavaan bikatt mat |2|He was very strong, brave and hard-witted. 2.

chitr ket bachitr dhuj sas dhuj rav dhuj soor |Chitra Ketu, Bachitra Dhuj, Sasi Dhuj and Ravi Dhuj (named)
ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਧਨੁਖ ਟੰਕੋਰ ਧੁਨਿ ਰਹਤ ਜਗਤ ਮੈ ਪੂਰ ॥੩॥
jin ke dhanukh ttankor dhun rahat jagat mai poor |3|The sound of the tinkling of the bows of the warriors was full in the world. 3.

ਸਸਿ ਆਭਾ ਵਤਿ ਦੁਹਿਤਾ ਘਰ ਜਿਹ ॥
sas aabhaa vat duhitaa ghar jih |In his house there was a girl like the beauty of the moon.
ਅਮਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਜਾਨਿਯਤ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਜਗ ॥
amit prabhaa jaaniyat jaa kee jag |Her incalculable beauty was known in the world.
ਸੁਰ ਆਸੁਰ ਥਕਿ ਰਹਤ ਨਿਰਖ ਮਗ ॥੪॥
sur aasur thak rahat nirakh mag |4|Gods and giants used to get tired of his way. 4.

ਚਾਰਿ ਪੁਤ ਜੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਕੇ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ॥
chaar put je nripat ke taa kee prabhaa nihaar |The four sons of the king saw her beauty
ਰੀਝਿ ਰਹਤ ਭੇ ਚਿਤ ਬਿਖੈ ਮਨ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਬਚ ਨਿਰਧਾਰ ॥੫॥
reejh rahat bhe chit bikhai man kram bach niradhaar |5|They used to live in Chit by doing mind, escape and deeds. 5.

ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੁਤ ਦੂਤਿਕ ਤਹਾ ਪਠਾਇਸਿ ॥
nrip sut dootik tahaa patthaaeis |The king's sons sent a messenger there.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਤਿਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਹਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਸਿ ॥
bhaat bhaat tih triyeh bhulaaeis |He made the (Shah's) daughter forget in every way.
ਇਹੀ ਭਾਤਿ ਚਾਰੌ ਉਠਿ ਧਾਏ ॥
eihee bhaat chaarau utth dhaae |In this way the four got up and ran away
ਚਾਰੋ ਚਲਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਆਏ ॥੬॥
chaaro chal taa ke grih aae |6|And the four went and came to his house. 6.
