ਭਯੋ ਏਕ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੰ ਤਹਾ ਜਾਨਕੀ ਤੈ ॥
bhayo ek putran tahaa jaanakee tai |
ਮਨੋ ਰਾਮ ਕੀਨੋ ਦੁਤੀ ਰਾਮ ਤੇ ਲੈ ॥
mano raam keeno dutee raam te lai |Sita bore a son there who was just a replica of Ram
ਵਹੈ ਚਾਰ ਚਿਹਨੰ ਵਹੈ ਉਗ੍ਰ ਤੇਜੰ ॥
vahai chaar chihanan vahai ugr tejan |
ਮਨੋ ਅਪ ਅੰਸੰ ਦੁਤੀ ਕਾਢਿ ਭੇਜੰ ॥੭੨੫॥
mano ap ansan dutee kaadt bhejan |725|He had the same colour, mask and splendour and it seemed that Ram had taken out his part and given to him.725.
ਦੀਯੋ ਏਕ ਪਾਲੰ ਸੁ ਬਾਲੰ ਰਿਖੀਸੰ ॥
deeyo ek paalan su baalan rikheesan |
ਲਸੈ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਰੂਪੰ ਕਿਧੋ ਦਯੋਸ ਈਸੰ ॥
lasai chandr roopan kidho dayos eesan |The great sage brought up that boy who was moonlike and lookede like the sun during the day.
ਗਯੋ ਏਕ ਦਿਵਸੰ ਰਿਖੀ ਸੰਧਿਯਾਨੰ ॥
gayo ek divasan rikhee sandhiyaanan |
ਲਯੋ ਬਾਲ ਸੰਗੰ ਗਈ ਸੀਅ ਨਾਨੰ ॥੭੨੬॥
layo baal sangan gee seea naanan |726|One day the sage went for Sandhya-worship and Sita taking the boy with her went to take a bath.726.
ਰਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਸੀਤਾ ਮਹਾ ਮੋਨ ਜਾਗੇ ॥
rahee jaat seetaa mahaa mon jaage |
ਬਿਨਾ ਬਾਲ ਪਾਲੰ ਲਖਯੋ ਸੋਕੁ ਪਾਗੇ ॥
binaa baal paalan lakhayo sok paage |When the sage came out of his contemplation after the departure of Sita, he became anxious on not seeing the boy
ਕੁਸਾ ਹਾਥ ਲੈ ਕੈ ਰਚਯੋ ਏਕ ਬਾਲੰ ॥
kusaa haath lai kai rachayo ek baalan |
ਤਿਸੀ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗੰ ਅਨੂਪੰ ਉਤਾਲੰ ॥੭੨੭॥
tisee roop rangan anoopan utaalan |727|He created another boy quickly of the same colour and form like the first boy out of the Kusha grass held by him in his hand.727.
ਫਿਰੀ ਨਾਇ ਸੀਤਾ ਕਹਾ ਆਨ ਦੇਖਯੋ ॥
firee naae seetaa kahaa aan dekhayo |
ਉਹੀ ਰੂਪ ਬਾਲੰ ਸੁਪਾਲੰ ਬਸੇਖਯੋ ॥
auhee roop baalan supaalan basekhayo |When Sita came back, she saw another boy of the same form seated there Sita said :
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਮੋਨ ਰਾਜੰ ਘਨੀ ਜਾਨ ਕੀਨੋ ॥
kripaa mon raajan ghanee jaan keeno |
ਦੁਤੀ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਜਾਨ ਦੀਨੋ ॥੭੨੮॥
dutee putr taa te kripaa jaan deeno |728|“O great sage, you had been highly graceful towards me and given me she gift of two sons gracefully.”728.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕੇ ਰਾਮਵਤਾਰ ਦੁਇ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਉਤਪੰਨੇ ਧਯਾਇ ਧਯਾਇ ਸਮਾਪਤੰ ॥੨੧॥

ਅਥ ਜਗ੍ਰਯ੍ਰਯਾਰੰਭ ਕਥਨੰ ॥
ath jagrayrayaaranbh kathanan |
ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥

ਉਤੈ ਬਾਲ ਪਾਲੈ ਇਤੈ ਅਉਧ ਰਾਜੰ ॥
autai baal paalai itai aaudh raajan |
ਬੁਲੇ ਬਿਪ ਜਗਯੰ ਤਜਯੋ ਏਕ ਬਾਜੰ ॥
bule bip jagayan tajayo ek baajan |On that side the boys were brought up and on this side Ram, the king of Avadh called the Brahmins and performed a Yajna
ਰਿਪੰ ਨਾਸ ਹੰਤਾ ਦਯੋ ਸੰਗ ਤਾ ਕੈ ॥
ripan naas hantaa dayo sang taa kai |
ਬਡੀ ਫਉਜ ਲੀਨੇ ਚਲਯੋ ਸੰਗ ਵਾ ਕੈ ॥੭੨੯॥
baddee fauj leene chalayo sang vaa kai |729|And for this purpose he let off a horse, Shatrughan went with that horse with a huge army.729.
ਫਿਰਯੋ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸੰ ਨਰੇਸਾਣ ਬਾਜੰ ॥
firayo des desan naresaan baajan |
ਕਿਨੀ ਨਾਹਿ ਬਾਧਯੋ ਮਿਲੇ ਆਨ ਰਾਜੰ ॥
kinee naeh baadhayo mile aan raajan |That horse reached in the territories of various kings, but none of them tied it
ਮਹਾ ਉਗ੍ਰ ਧਨਿਯਾ ਬਡੀ ਫਉਜ ਲੈ ਕੈ ॥
mahaa ugr dhaniyaa baddee fauj lai kai |
ਪਰੇ ਆਨ ਪਾਯੰ ਬਡੀ ਭੇਟ ਦੈ ਕੈ ॥੭੩੦॥
pare aan paayan baddee bhett dai kai |730|The great kings alongwith their great forces fell at the feet of Shatrughan with presence.730.
ਦਿਸਾ ਚਾਰ ਜੀਤੀ ਫਿਰਯੋ ਫੇਰਿ ਬਾਜੀ ॥
disaa chaar jeetee firayo fer baajee |
ਗਯੋ ਬਾਲਮੀਕੰ ਰਿਖਿਸਥਾਨ ਤਾਜੀ ॥
gayo baalameekan rikhisathaan taajee |Wandering in the four direction the horse also reached the hermitage of the sage Valmiki
ਜਬੈ ਭਾਲ ਪਤ੍ਰੰ ਲਵੰ ਛੋਰ ਬਾਚਯੋ ॥
jabai bhaal patran lavan chhor baachayo |
ਬਡੋ ਉਗ੍ਰਧੰਨਯਾ ਰਸੰ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਰਾਚਯੋ ॥੭੩੧॥
baddo ugradhanayaa rasan rudr raachayo |731|Where Lava and his companions read the letter written on the head of the horse, they in great fury looked like Rudra.731.
ਬ੍ਰਿਛੰ ਬਾਜ ਬਾਧਯੋ ਲਖਯੋ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
brichhan baaj baadhayo lakhayo sasatr dhaaree |
ਬਡੋ ਨਾਦ ਕੈ ਸਰਬ ਸੈਨਾ ਪੁਕਾਰੀ ॥
baddo naad kai sarab sainaa pukaaree |They tied the horse with a tree and the whole army of Shatrughan saw it, the warriors of the army shouted :
ਕਹਾ ਜਾਤ ਰੇ ਬਾਲ ਲੀਨੇ ਤੁਰੰਗੰ ॥
kahaa jaat re baal leene turangan |
ਤਜੋ ਨਾਹਿ ਯਾ ਕੋ ਸਜੋ ਆਨ ਜੰਗੰ ॥੭੩੨॥
tajo naeh yaa ko sajo aan jangan |732|“O boy! where are you taking this horse? Either leave it or wage a war with us. “732.
ਸੁਣਯੋ ਨਾਮ ਜੁਧੰ ਜਬੈ ਸ੍ਰਉਣ ਸੂਰੰ ॥
sunayo naam judhan jabai sraun sooran |
ਮਹਾ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਉਡੀ ਮਹਾ ਲੋਹ ਪੂਰੰ ॥
mahaa sasatr sauddee mahaa loh pooran |When those weapon-wielders heard the name of war, they showered arrows extensively
ਹਠੇ ਬੀਰ ਹਾਠੈ ਸਭੈ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਕੈ ॥
hatthe beer haatthai sabhai sasatr lai kai |
ਪਰਯੋ ਮਧਿ ਸੈਣੰ ਬਡੋ ਨਾਦਿ ਕੈ ਕੈ ॥੭੩੩॥
parayo madh sainan baddo naad kai kai |733|All the warriors began to fight with persistence, holding their weapons, and here Lava jumped into the army raising a frightening thundering sound.733.
ਭਲੀ ਭਾਤ ਮਾਰੈ ਪਚਾਰੇ ਸੁ ਸੂਰੰ ॥
bhalee bhaat maarai pachaare su sooran |
ਗਿਰੇ ਜੁਧ ਜੋਧਾ ਰਹੀ ਧੂਰ ਪੂਰੰ ॥
gire judh jodhaa rahee dhoor pooran |Many warriors were killed, they fell down on the earth and the dust arose on all the four sides
ਉਠੀ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਝਾਰੰ ਅਪਾਰੰਤ ਵੀਰੰ ॥
autthee sasatr jhaaran apaarant veeran |
ਭ੍ਰਮੇ ਰੁੰਡ ਮੁੰਡ ਤਨੰ ਤਛ ਤੀਰੰ ॥੭੩੪॥
bhrame rundd mundd tanan tachh teeran |734|The warriors began to shower blows of their weapons and the trunks and heads of the warriors began to fly hither and thither.734.
ਗਿਰੇ ਲੁਥ ਪਥੰ ਸੁ ਜੁਥਤ ਬਾਜੀ ॥
gire luth pathan su juthat baajee |
ਭ੍ਰਮੈ ਛੂਛ ਹਾਥੀ ਬਿਨਾ ਸੁਆਰ ਤਾਜੀ ॥
bhramai chhoochh haathee binaa suaar taajee |The path was filled with the corpses of the horses and the elephants,
ਗਿਰੇ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਹੀਣੰ ਬਿਅਸਤ੍ਰੰਤ ਸੂਰੰ ॥
gire sasatr heenan biasatrant sooran |
ਹਸੇ ਭੂਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤੰ ਭ੍ਰਮੀ ਗੈਣ ਹੂਰੰ ॥੭੩੫॥
hase bhoot pretan bhramee gain hooran |735|And horses began to run without drivers, the warriors fell being deprived of weapons and the ghosts, fiends and the heavenly damsels began to wander smilingly.735.
ਘਣੰ ਘੋਰ ਨੀਸਾਣ ਬਜੇ ਅਪਾਰੰ ॥
