ਰਹੇ ਏਕ ਚਿਤੰ ਨ ਚਿਤੰ ਚਲਾਵੈ ॥
rahe ek chitan na chitan chalaavai |

He did not allow his mind to become mercurial even on being afflicted by hunger and thirst

ਕਰੈ ਜੋਗ ਨ੍ਯਾਸੰ ਨਿਰਾਸੰ ਉਦਾਸੀ ॥
karai jog nayaasan niraasan udaasee |

(He) observes the method of yoga and remains hopeless and depressed (nirlipta).

ਧਰੇ ਮੇਖਲਾ ਪਰਮ ਤਤੰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸੀ ॥੧੨੩॥
dhare mekhalaa param tatan prakaasee |123|

He, remaining supremely unattached, and wearing the patched cloak, practiced Yoga, for the realization of the light of the Supreme Essence.123.

ਮਹਾ ਆਤਮ ਦਰਸੀ ਮਹਾ ਤਤ ਬੇਤਾ ॥
mahaa aatam darasee mahaa tat betaa |

(He is) a great seer and a great Tattva-veta.

ਥਿਰੰ ਆਸਣੇਕੰ ਮਹਾ ਊਰਧਰੇਤਾ ॥
thiran aasanekan mahaa aooradharetaa |

He was a great self-knowing, essence-knowing, stable Yogi performing austerities in upside down posture

ਕਰੈ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਮੰ ਕੁਕਰਮੰ ਪ੍ਰਨਾਸੰ ॥
karai sat karaman kukaraman pranaasan |

(Sada) performs good deeds and thoroughly destroys bad deeds.

ਰਹੈ ਏਕ ਚਿਤੰ ਮੁਨੀਸੰ ਉਦਾਸੰ ॥੧੨੪॥
rahai ek chitan muneesan udaasan |124|

He was the destroyer of evil actions through good actions and was ever and unattached ascetic of stable mind.124.

ਸੁਭੰ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਗੰਤਾ ਕੁਕਰਮੰ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਸੀ ॥
subhan saasatragantaa kukaraman pranaasee |

(He has) access to the auspicious scriptures and is the destroyer of misdeeds.

ਬਸੈ ਕਾਨਨੇਸੰ ਸੁਪਾਤ੍ਰੰ ਉਦਾਸੀ ॥
basai kaananesan supaatran udaasee |

He used to live in the forest, studying all Shastras, destroying evil actions as a worthy traveler on the path of detachment

ਤਜ੍ਯੋ ਕਾਮ ਕਰੋਧੰ ਸਬੈ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹੰ ॥
tajayo kaam karodhan sabai lobh mohan |

(He) has given up all the vices of lust, anger, greed, attachment (etc.).

ਮਹਾ ਜੋਗ ਜ੍ਵਾਲਾ ਮਹਾ ਮੋਨਿ ਸੋਹੰ ॥੧੨੫॥
mahaa jog jvaalaa mahaa mon sohan |125|

He had forsaken lust, anger, greed and attachment and was a supreme silence-observer and the adopter of the fire of Yoga.125.

ਕਰੈ ਨ੍ਯਾਸ ਏਕੰ ਅਨੇਕੰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰੀ ॥
karai nayaas ekan anekan prakaaree |

One (yoga) he practices in many ways.

ਮਹਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਰਜੰ ਸੁ ਧਰਮਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ॥
mahaa brahamacharajan su dharamaadhikaaree |

He was the practiser of various kinds, a great celibate and an authority on Dharma

ਮਹਾ ਤਤ ਬੇਤਾ ਸੁ ਸੰਨ੍ਯਾਸ ਜੋਗੰ ॥
mahaa tat betaa su sanayaas jogan |

He was a great knower of essence, knower of the secrets of Yoga and Sannyas and

ਅਨਾਸੰ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਸੁ ਬਾਸੰ ਅਰੋਗੰ ॥੧੨੬॥
anaasan udaasee su baasan arogan |126|

A detached ascetic he always remained in good health.126.

ਅਨਾਸ ਮਹਾ ਊਰਧਰੇਤਾ ਸੰਨ੍ਯਾਸੀ ॥
anaas mahaa aooradharetaa sanayaasee |

(He is) destitute of hope, great celibate and ascetic.

ਮਹਾ ਤਤ ਬੇਤਾ ਅਨਾਸੰ ਉਦਾਸੀ ॥
mahaa tat betaa anaasan udaasee |

He was without expectations, practiser of austerities in upside-down posture, a great knower of essence and an unattached Sannyasi

ਸਬੈ ਜੋਗ ਸਾਧੈ ਰਹੈ ਏਕ ਚਿਤੰ ॥
sabai jog saadhai rahai ek chitan |

He practiced all kinds of Yogic postures with concentration

ਤਜੈ ਅਉਰ ਸਰਬੰ ਗਹ੍ਰਯੋ ਏਕ ਹਿਤੰ ॥੧੨੭॥
tajai aaur saraban gahrayo ek hitan |127|

Forsaking all other desire, he meditated only on the one Lord.127.

ਤਰੇ ਤਾਪ ਧੂਮੰ ਕਰੈ ਪਾਨ ਉਚੰ ॥
tare taap dhooman karai paan uchan |

He stands with his feet up in the smoke.

ਝੁਲੈ ਮਧਿ ਅਗਨੰ ਤਉ ਧਿਆਨ ਮੁਚੰ ॥
jhulai madh aganan tau dhiaan muchan |

While seated near the fire and smoke, he had raised his hand and while meditating, burning the fires in all the four directions, he was internally scorching it

ਮਹਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਰਜੰ ਮਹਾ ਧਰਮ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
mahaa brahamacharajan mahaa dharam dhaaree |

He is a great celibate and a great pious person.

ਭਏ ਦਤ ਕੇ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਪੂਰਣ ਵਤਾਰੀ ॥੧੨੮॥
bhe dat ke rudr pooran vataaree |128|

He was the celibate adopting a great religion and also the perfect incarnation of Rudra.128.

ਹਠੀ ਤਾਪਸੀ ਮੋਨ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਮਹਾਨੰ ॥
hatthee taapasee mon mantr mahaanan |

Mahan is stubborn, ascetic, mondhari and mantradhari.

ਪਰੰ ਪੂਰਣੰ ਦਤ ਪ੍ਰਗ੍ਰਯਾ ਨਿਧਾਨੰ ॥
paran pooranan dat pragrayaa nidhaanan |

He was persistent silence-observer performing austerities, a great knower of mantras and the treasure of generosity

ਕਰੈ ਜੋਗ ਨ੍ਯਾਸੰ ਤਜੇ ਰਾਜ ਭੋਗੰ ॥
karai jog nayaasan taje raaj bhogan |

Legislates yoga and renounces state indulgence.

ਚਕੇ ਸਰਬ ਦੇਵੰ ਜਕੇ ਸਰਬ ਲੋਗੰ ॥੧੨੯॥
chake sarab devan jake sarab logan |129|

While abandoning the royal enjoyments, he was practising Yoga and seeing him, all the men and hods were wonder-struck.129.

ਜਕੇ ਜਛ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਨਿਧਾਨੰ ॥
jake jachh gandhrab bidiaa nidhaanan |

Yaksha and Gandharva, the treasures of learning, are amazed.

ਚਕੇ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਚੰਦ ਸੂਰੰ ਸੁਰਾਨੰ ॥
chake devataa chand sooran suraanan |

Seeing him, the Gandharvas, who were the treasure of science, and Chandra, Surya, the king of gods and other gods full of astonishment

ਛਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਜੰਤ੍ਰੰ ਲਖੇ ਪਰਮ ਰੂਪੰ ॥
chhake jeev jantran lakhe param roopan |

They are surprised to see the supreme form as a machine.

ਤਜ੍ਯੋ ਗਰਬ ਸਰਬੰ ਲਗੇ ਪਾਨ ਭੂਪੰ ॥੧੩੦॥
tajayo garab saraban lage paan bhoopan |130|

All the creatures were pleased to see his comely figure and all the kings, abandoning their pride, had fallen on his feet.130.

ਜਟੀ ਦੰਡ ਮੁੰਡੀ ਤਪੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀ ॥
jattee dandd munddee tapee brahamachaaree |

Jatavas, Dandaharis, Bairagi ('Mundi'), ascetics, celibates,

ਜਤੀ ਜੰਗਮੀ ਜਾਮਨੀ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
jatee jangamee jaamanee jantr dhaaree |

There were also there mighty warriors living on mountains and other countries

ਪਰੀ ਪਾਰਬਤੀ ਪਰਮ ਦੇਸੀ ਪਛੇਲੇ ॥
paree paarabatee param desee pachhele |

Beyond the mountains, the extreme country, the hills,

ਬਲੀ ਬਾਲਖੀ ਬੰਗ ਰੂਮੀ ਰੁਹੇਲੇ ॥੧੩੧॥
balee baalakhee bang roomee ruhele |131|

The mighty ones of Balkh, Bengal, Russia and Ruhekhand were also there, in his shelter.131.

ਜਟੀ ਜਾਮਨੀ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰੀ ਛਲਾਰੇ ॥
jattee jaamanee jantr dhaaree chhalaare |

Jati, purple, jeweler, trickster,

ਅਜੀ ਆਮਰੀ ਨਿਵਲਕਾ ਕਰਮ ਵਾਰੇ ॥
ajee aamaree nivalakaa karam vaare |

The saints with matted locks, the deceptors, deceiving people through Yantras and Mantras, the residents of Aj Pradesh and Aabhir Desh and the Yogis performing Neoli Karma (purging of intestines) were also there

ਅਤੇਵਾਗਨਹੋਤ੍ਰੀ ਜੂਆ ਜਗ੍ਯ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
atevaaganahotree jooaa jagay dhaaree |

And the Agnihotri, the gamblers, the sacrificers,

ਅਧੰ ਉਰਧਰੇਤੇ ਬਰੰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀ ॥੧੩੨॥
adhan uradharete baran brahamachaaree |132|

All Atev Agnihotris, controlling the world and the perfect celibates adopting celibacy at all levels were also in his refuge.132.

ਜਿਤੇ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸੰ ਹੁਤੇ ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ ॥
jite des desan hute chhatradhaaree |

In whatever countries there were chhatradharis (kings-maharajas),

ਸਬੈ ਪਾਨ ਲਗੇ ਤਜ੍ਯੋ ਗਰਬ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
sabai paan lage tajayo garab bhaaree |

All the canopied kings of far and near, they all fell at his feet, leaving their pride

ਕਰੈ ਲਾਗ ਸਰਬੰ ਸੁ ਸੰਨ੍ਯਾਸ ਜੋਗੰ ॥
karai laag saraban su sanayaas jogan |

(They) have all started practicing sannyas yoga.

ਇਹੀ ਪੰਥ ਲਾਗੇ ਸੁਭੰ ਸਰਬ ਲੋਗੰ ॥੧੩੩॥
eihee panth laage subhan sarab logan |133|

They all practiced Sannyas and Yoga and al of them became followers of this path.133.

ਸਬੇ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸਾਨ ਤੇ ਲੋਗ ਆਏ ॥
sabe des desaan te log aae |

People have come from all over the country

ਕਰੰ ਦਤ ਕੇ ਆਨਿ ਮੂੰਡੰ ਮੁੰਡਾਏ ॥
karan dat ke aan moonddan munddaae |

The people of various countries from far and near, came and got performed the tonsure ceremony from the hands of Dutt,

ਧਰੇ ਸੀਸ ਪੈ ਪਰਮ ਜੂਟੇ ਜਟਾਨੰ ॥
dhare sees pai param jootte jattaanan |

He has worn heavy bundles of jatas on his head.

ਕਰੈ ਲਾਗਿ ਸੰਨ੍ਯਾਸ ਜੋਗ ਅਪ੍ਰਮਾਨੰ ॥੧੩੪॥
karai laag sanayaas jog apramaanan |134|

And many people wearing matted locks on their head, practiced Yoga and Sannyas.134.
