ਲੋਥ ਪੈ ਲੋਥ ਗਈ ਪਰ ਇਉ ਸੁ ਮਨੋ ਸੁਰ ਲੋਗ ਕੀ ਸੀਢੀ ਬਨਾਈ ॥੨੧੫॥
loth pai loth gee par iau su mano sur log kee seedtee banaaee |215|The corpses falling on one another seem like a ladder of heaven made by the warriors in the war.215.,
ਸੁੰਭ ਚਮੂੰ ਸੰਗ ਚੰਡਿਕਾ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਕੈ ਜੁਧ ਅਨੇਕਨਿ ਵਾਰਿ ਮਚਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
sunbh chamoon sang chanddikaa krudh kai judh anekan vaar machio hai |Chandi, with great rage, hath waged war several times with the forces of Sumbh.,
ਜੰਬੁਕ ਜੁਗਨਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਝ ਮਜੂਰ ਰਕਤ੍ਰ ਕੀ ਕੀਚ ਮੈ ਈਸ ਨਚਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
janbuk jugan grijh majoor rakatr kee keech mai ees nachio hai |The jackals, vamps and vultures are like laborers and the dancer standing in the mud of flesh and blood is Shiva himself.,
ਲੁਥ ਪੈ ਲੁਥ ਸੁ ਭੀਤੈ ਭਈ ਸਿਤ ਗੂਦ ਅਉ ਮੇਦ ਲੈ ਤਾਹਿ ਗਚਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
luth pai luth su bheetai bhee sit good aau med lai taeh gachio hai |The corpses upon corpses have become a wall and the fat and marrow are the plaster (on that wall).,
ਭਉਨ ਰੰਗੀਨ ਬਨਾਇ ਮਨੋ ਕਰਿਮਾਵਿਸੁ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਰਚਿਓ ਹੈ ॥੨੧੬॥
bhaun rangeen banaae mano karimaavis chitr bachitr rachio hai |216|(This is not the battlefield) it appears that Vishwakarma, the builder of beautiful mansions, hath created this wonderful portrait. 216.,

ਦੁੰਦ ਸੁ ਜੁਧ ਭਇਓ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਉਤ ਸੁੰਭ ਇਤੈ ਬਰ ਚੰਡਿ ਸੰਭਾਰੀ ॥
dund su judh bheio ran mai ut sunbh itai bar chandd sanbhaaree |Ultimately there was battle only between the two, Sumbh from that side and Chandi from this side, sustained their power.,
ਘਾਇ ਅਨੇਕ ਭਏ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਕੈ ਤਨਿ ਪਉਰਖ ਗਯੋ ਸਭ ਦੈਤ ਕੋ ਹਾਰੀ ॥
ghaae anek bhe duhoon kai tan paurakh gayo sabh dait ko haaree |Several wounds were infected on the bodies of bodies of both, but the demon lost all his power.,
ਹੀਨ ਭਈ ਬਲ ਤੇ ਭੁਜ ਕਾਪਤ ਸੋ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਵਿ ਐਸਿ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥
heen bhee bal te bhuj kaapat so upamaa kav aais bichaaree |The arms of the powerless demon tremble for which the poet hath imagined this comparison.,
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਗਾਰੜੂ ਕੇ ਬਲ ਤੇ ਲਈ ਪੰਚ ਮੁਖੀ ਜੁਗ ਸਾਪਨਿ ਕਾਰੀ ॥੨੧੭॥
maanahu gaararroo ke bal te lee panch mukhee jug saapan kaaree |217|It seemed that they are the black serpents of five mouths, which are hanging unconsciously with the power of snake-spell.217.,
ਕੋਪ ਭਈ ਬਰ ਚੰਡਿ ਮਹਾ ਬਹੁ ਜੁਧੁ ਕਰਿਓ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਬਲ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
kop bhee bar chandd mahaa bahu judh kario ran mai bal dhaaree |Very powerful Chandi became furious in the battlefield and with great force she fought the battle.,
ਲੈ ਕੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਮਹਾ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਪਚਾਰ ਕੈ ਸੁੰਭ ਕੇ ਊਪਰ ਝਾਰੀ ॥
lai kai kripaan mahaa balavaan pachaar kai sunbh ke aoopar jhaaree |Very powerful Chandi, taking her sword and shouting loudly, she struck it on Sumbh.,
ਸਾਰ ਸੋ ਸਾਰ ਕੀ ਸਾਰ ਬਜੀ ਝਨਕਾਰ ਉਠੀ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਚਿਨਗਾਰੀ ॥
saar so saar kee saar bajee jhanakaar utthee tih te chinagaaree |The sword’s edge collided with the sword’s edge, from which there arose tinkling sound and sparks.,
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਭਾਦਵ ਮਾਸ ਕੀ ਰੈਨਿ ਲਸੈ ਪਟਬੀਜਨ ਕੀ ਚਮਕਾਰੀ ॥੨੧੮॥
maanahu bhaadav maas kee rain lasai pattabeejan kee chamakaaree |218|It seemed that during the right of Bhandon (month), there is the glow of glow-worns.218.,
ਘਾਇਨ ਤੇ ਬਹੁ ਸ੍ਰਉਨ ਪਰਿਓ ਬਲ ਛੀਨ ਭਇਓ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੁੰਭ ਕੋ ਕੈਸੇ ॥
ghaaein te bahu sraun pario bal chheen bheio nrip sunbh ko kaise |Much blood flowed out of the would of the wounds of Sumbh, therefore he lost his power, how doth he look like?,
ਜੋਤਿ ਘਟੀ ਮੁਖ ਕੀ ਤਨ ਕੀ ਮਨੋ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾ ਸਸਿ ਜੈਸੇ ॥
jot ghattee mukh kee tan kee mano pooran te parivaa sas jaise |The glory of his face and the power of his body have depleted like the decrease in the light of the moon from full moon to the new moon.,
ਚੰਡਿ ਲਇਓ ਕਰਿ ਸੁੰਭ ਉਠਾਇ ਕਹਿਓ ਕਵਿ ਨੇ ਮੁਖਿ ਤੇ ਜਸੁ ਐਸੇ ॥
chandd leio kar sunbh utthaae kahio kav ne mukh te jas aaise |Chandi picked up Sumbh in her hand, the poet hath imahined the comparison of this scene like this:,
ਰਛਕ ਗੋਧਨ ਕੇ ਹਿਤ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਉਠਾਇ ਲਇਓ ਗਿਰਿ ਗੋਧਨੁ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੨੧੯॥
rachhak godhan ke hit kaanrah utthaae leio gir godhan jaise |219|It seemed that in order to protect the flock of cows, Krishna had lifted the Govardhana mountain.219.,

ਕਰ ਤੇ ਗਿਰਿ ਧਰਨੀ ਪਰਿਓ ਧਰਿ ਤੇ ਗਇਓ ਅਕਾਸਿ ॥
kar te gir dharanee pario dhar te geio akaas |Sumbh fell from the hand or Chandi on the earth and from the earth it flew to the sky.,
ਸੁੰਭ ਸੰਘਾਰਨ ਕੇ ਨਮਿਤ ਗਈ ਚੰਡਿ ਤਿਹ ਪਾਸ ॥੨੨੦॥
sunbh sanghaaran ke namit gee chandd tih paas |220|In order to kill Sumbh, Chandi approached him.220.,

ਬੀਚ ਤਬੈ ਨਭ ਮੰਡਲ ਚੰਡਿਕਾ ਜੁਧ ਕਰਿਓ ਜਿਮ ਆਗੇ ਨ ਹੋਊ ॥
beech tabai nabh manddal chanddikaa judh kario jim aage na hoaoo |Such a war was waged by Chandi in the sky, as had never been waged before.,
ਸੂਰਜ ਚੰਦੁ ਨਿਛਤ੍ਰ ਸਚੀਪਤਿ ਅਉਰ ਸਭੈ ਸੁਰ ਪੇਖਤ ਸੋਊ ॥
sooraj chand nichhatr sacheepat aaur sabhai sur pekhat soaoo |The sun, moon, stars, Indra and all other gods saw that war.,
