ਉਹਿ ਰਾਜਾ ਤਨ ਭੇਟ ਹੁਈ ॥
auhi raajaa tan bhett huee |And she met the king.
ਨਿਰਖਤ ਰੂਪ ਉਰਝਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਰਹਿਯੋ ॥
nirakhat roop urajh nrip rahiyo |Seeing her form, the king was enthralled.
ਨਰੀ ਨਾਗਨੀ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਯੋ ॥੮॥
naree naaganee ko ih kahiyo |8|It started to say that who is this male or female? 8
ਕਵਨ ਰੂਪ ਰਾਨੀ ਤੁਮ ਹੋ ਜੂ ॥
kavan roop raanee tum ho joo |(began to ask) O Rani! Whose form are you?
ਕਿਧੋ ਅਪਛਰਾ ਸਾਚ ਕਹੋ ਜੂ ॥
kidho apachharaa saach kaho joo |Are you a coward, tell the truth.
ਕੈ ਤੁਮ ਹੋ ਰਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਕੀ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
kai tum ho rat pat kee naaree |Or you are a woman of lust.
ਕੈ ਨਿਸਿ ਪਤਿ ਕੀ ਅਹਹੁ ਕੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੯॥
kai nis pat kee ahahu kumaaree |9|Or is the virgin of the moon. 9.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਤਨ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰੀ ॥
bhaat bhaat tan charachaa karee |Discussed various things with him
ਬੇਦ ਬ੍ਯਾਕਰਨ ਕੋਕ ਉਚਰੀ ॥
bed bayaakaran kok ucharee |and recited the Vedas, Grammar and Kok Shastra.
ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਤ੍ਯੋਂ ਚਿਤ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
jayon tayon chit taa ko har leenaa |Like how (the queen) won the king's heart
ਬਿਨਾ ਘਾਇ ਘਾਯਲ ਪਤਿ ਕੀਨਾ ॥੧੦॥
binaa ghaae ghaayal pat keenaa |10|And wounded her husband without injury (with the arrows of love). 10.
ਮਗਨ ਭਯੋ ਚਿਤ ਭੀਤਰ ਭੂਪਾ ॥
magan bhayo chit bheetar bhoopaa |Seeing the unique form of (that) woman
ਨਿਰਖਿ ਨਾਰਿ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਅਨੂਪਾ ॥
nirakh naar ko roop anoopaa |The king became engrossed in his mind.
ਏਕ ਬਾਰ ਕਹ ਜੌ ਇਹ ਪਾਊਾਂ ॥
ek baar kah jau ih paaooaan |(thought that) if once I get it
ਜਨਮ ਅਨੇਕ ਲਗੇ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਊਾਂ ॥੧੧॥
janam anek lage bal jaaooaan |11|So I will be free from it for many births. 11.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਹੁ ਨਾਰਿ ਕਹ ਅਧਿਕ ਰਿਝਾਯੋ ॥
nripahu naar kah adhik rijhaayo |The king pleased the lady very much
ਭਾਤਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਸੇਤੀ ਉਰਝਾਯੋ ॥
bhaat anik setee urajhaayo |And confused him in many ways.
ਭਜੌ ਯਾਹਿ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
bhajau yaeh man maeh bichaariyo |(He) thought in his mind that I should rejoice with him.
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਬਚਨ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੨॥
eih bidh taa sau bachan uchaariyo |12|(Therefore he) said thus to the queen. 12.
ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਆਉ ਰਮੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਦੋਊ ॥
ham tum aau ramai mil doaoo |Come on! Let me and you both rejoice together.
ਔਰ ਨ ਲਖਤ ਹਮੈ ਹ੍ਯਾਂ ਕੋਊ ॥
aauar na lakhat hamai hayaan koaoo |No one else is watching us here.
ਕ੍ਯੋ ਤਰੁਨਾਪਨ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਗਵਾਵਤ ॥
kayo tarunaapan brithaa gavaavat |Why are you wasting your youth?
ਰਾਨੀ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕ੍ਯੋ ਨ ਸੇਜ ਸੁਹਾਵਤ ॥੧੩॥
raanee hvai kayo na sej suhaavat |13|Why don't you beautify (my) sage by becoming a queen. 13.
ਅਸ ਤਨ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਧੂਰਿ ਨ ਲਾਵਹੁ ॥
as tan sundar dhoor na laavahu |Do not roll such a beautiful body in the dirt
ਜੋਬਨ ਜਾਲ ਨ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਗਵਾਵਹੁ ॥
joban jaal na brithaa gavaavahu |And don't lose your job net in vain.
ਬਿਰਧਾਪਨੋ ਆਇ ਜਬ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥
biradhaapano aae jab jai hai |When old age comes,
ਇਹ ਜ੍ਵਾਨੀ ਕਹ ਤਬ ਪਛਤੈ ਹੈ ॥੧੪॥
eih jvaanee kah tab pachhatai hai |14|Then you will regret for this youth. 14.
ਇਹ ਜੋਬਨ ਕੇ ਕਹਾ ਗੁਮਾਨਾ ॥
eih joban ke kahaa gumaanaa |What is the suspicion of this job?
ਜੋ ਕਾਹੂ ਪਰ ਥਿਰ ਨ ਰਹਾਨਾ ॥
jo kaahoo par thir na rahaanaa |Which is not permanent on anyone.
ਆਉ ਕਰੈ ਦੋਊ ਭੋਗ ਬਿਲਾਸਾ ॥
aau karai doaoo bhog bilaasaa |Come, let us enjoy both.
ਕਹਾ ਕਰਤ ਯਾ ਕੋ ਭਰਵਾਸਾ ॥੧੫॥
kahaa karat yaa ko bharavaasaa |15|What to trust in this (youth). 15.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |adamant:
ਧਨ ਜੋਬਨ ਕੋ ਕਹਾ ਗੁਮਾਨ ਨ ਕੀਜਿਯੈ ॥
dhan joban ko kahaa gumaan na keejiyai |Money and job should never be taken for granted.
ਸੁਖ ਹਮ ਕੌ ਦੈ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਲੀਜਿਯੈ ॥
sukh ham kau dai tarun aap sukh leejiyai |O young lady! Give me happiness and take happiness too.
ਬਿਰਧਾਪਨੁ ਐ ਹੈ ਤਰਨਾਪਨ ਜਾਇ ਹੈ ॥
biradhaapan aai hai taranaapan jaae hai |Youth will pass and old age will come.
ਹੋ ਤਬ ਇਹ ਸਮੈ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਪਛੁਤਾਇ ਹੈ ॥੧੬॥
ho tab ih samai sanbhaar adhik pachhutaae hai |16|(You) remembering this time, (after the time) you will regret a lot. 16.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਕਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੋ ਕਰੈ ॥
pratham kahee meree jo karai |(said the queen) if (you) first obey what I say,
ਤਿਹ ਪਾਛੈ ਮੁਹਿ ਸਾਥ ਬਿਹਰੈ ॥
tih paachhai muhi saath biharai |After that have fun with me.
ਬਚਨ ਦੀਜਿਐ ਮੇਰੋ ਹਾਥਾ ॥
bachan deejiaai mero haathaa |First give me the word by hand.
ਤੌ ਮੈ ਮਾਨੌ ਬਚ ਤੌ ਨਾਥਾ ॥੧੭॥
tau mai maanau bach tau naathaa |17|O Nath! Then I will obey your word. 17.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |adamant:
ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਕੋ ਦੋਖ ਛਿਮਾਪਨ ਕੀਜਿਯੈ ॥
pritham triyaa ko dokh chhimaapan keejiyai |First forgive (your) wife.
ਤਿਹ ਪਾਛੇ ਮੋਰਾ ਮਨ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਬਰ ਲੀਜਿਯੈ ॥
tih paachhe moraa man nrip bar leejiyai |O great king! Take my mind after that.
ਦੋਖ ਛਿਮਾਪਨ ਕੀਨ ਬਚਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੋ ਤਬੈ ॥
dokh chhimaapan keen bachan triy ko tabai |(The king) then promised to forgive the woman's guilt.
ਹੋ ਸੁਨੇ ਸੰਨ੍ਯਾਸਿਨਿ ਬੈਨ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਜਬੈ ॥੧੮॥
ho sune sanayaasin bain sravan bheetar jabai |18|When Sannyasana heard with his ears. 18.

ਏਕ ਦਿਵਸ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਆਵੈ ॥
ek divas triy ke grih aavai |(Now the king) came to the (first) queen's house one day
