ਜੁਆਨ ਆਨ ਕੇ ਪਰੇ ਸੁ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਠਾਢਿਬੋ ਜਹਾ ॥
juaan aan ke pare su rudr tthaadtibo jahaa |

Holding their swords in their hands and galloping their horses, the mighty youthful warriors stopped there, where Rudra was standing.

ਬਿਅੰਤ ਬਾਣ ਸੈਹਥੀ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਆਨ ਕੇ ਕਰੈ ॥
biant baan saihathee prahaar aan ke karai |

(They came) and shot endlessly with arrows and spears.

ਧਕੇਲਿ ਰੇਲਿ ਲੈ ਚਲੈ ਪਛੇਲ ਪਾਵ ਨ ਟਰੈ ॥੪੦॥
dhakel rel lai chalai pachhel paav na ttarai |40|

The brave fighters began to inflict blows with many types of arrows and weapons and forcibly moved forward, without retracing their steps.40.

ਸੜਕ ਸੂਲ ਸੈਹਥੀ ਤੜਕ ਤੇਗ ਤੀਰਯੰ ॥
sarrak sool saihathee tarrak teg teerayan |

The swords and swords used to make the road, and the arrows on the tegs went fast.

ਬਬਕ ਬਾਘ ਜਿਯੋ ਬਲੀ ਭਭਕ ਘਾਇ ਬੀਰਯੰ ॥
babak baagh jiyo balee bhabhak ghaae beerayan |

The clattering of daggers and sword is being heard the warriors are wounding one another, roaring like lions.

ਅਘਾਇ ਘਾਇ ਕੇ ਗਿਰੇ ਪਛੇਲ ਪਾਵ ਨ ਟਰੇ ॥
aghaae ghaae ke gire pachhel paav na ttare |

The warriors, fed up with their wounds (in war deeds), were falling down but did not step back.

ਸੁ ਬੀਨ ਬੀਨ ਅਛਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਦੀਨ ਹੁਐ ਬਰੇ ॥੪੧॥
su been been achharai prabeen deen huaai bare |41|

On getting wounded the warriors are falling down, but are not retracing their steps.41.

CHAUPAI

ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਜੂਝਿ ਗਿਰਿਯੋ ਸਭ ਸਾਥਾ ॥
eih bidh joojh giriyo sabh saathaa |

In this way the whole party fell down fighting,

ਰਹਿ ਗਯੋ ਦਛ ਅਕੇਲ ਅਨਾਥਾ ॥
reh gayo dachh akel anaathaa |

In this way, all his companions fell down and Daksha was only left behind.

ਬਚੇ ਬੀਰ ਤੇ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬੁਲਾਇਸੁ ॥
bache beer te bahur bulaaeis |

The soldiers who had survived, called them again

ਪਹਰਿ ਕਵਚ ਦੁੰਦਭੀ ਬਜਾਇਸੁ ॥੪੨॥
pahar kavach dundabhee bajaaeis |42|

He called again his remaining fighters and wearing his armour, he caused the resounding of the musical instrument.42.

ਆਪਨ ਚਲਾ ਜੁਧ ਕਹੁ ਰਾਜਾ ॥
aapan chalaa judh kahu raajaa |

The king himself went to war,

ਜੋਰ ਕਰੋਰ ਅਯੋਧਨ ਸਾਜਾ ॥
jor karor ayodhan saajaa |

The king Daksha, moved forward, with the strength of the innumerable warriors.

ਛੂਟਤ ਬਾਣ ਕਮਾਣ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
chhoottat baan kamaan apaaraa |

Arrows shot from immense bows.

ਜਨੁ ਦਿਨ ਤੇ ਹੁਐ ਗਯੋ ਅੰਧਾਰਾ ॥੪੩॥
jan din te huaai gayo andhaaraa |43|

Innumerable arrows were discharged from his bow and such a scene was crated that there was darkness during the day.43.

ਭੂਤ ਪਰੇਤ ਮਸਾਣ ਹਕਾਰੇ ॥
bhoot paret masaan hakaare |

Ghosts, ghosts and ghosts were speaking.

ਦੁਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਡਉਰੂ ਡਮਕਾਰੇ ॥
duhoon or ddauroo ddamakaare |

The ghosts and friends began to shout and the tabors resounded from both the sides.

ਮਹਾ ਘੋਰ ਮਚਿਯੋ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਾਮਾ ॥
mahaa ghor machiyo sangraamaa |

There was a big terrible war

ਜੈਸਕ ਲੰਕਿ ਰਾਵਣ ਅਰੁ ਰਾਮਾ ॥੪੪॥
jaisak lank raavan ar raamaa |44|

A fierce fighting ensued and it appeared that the war was going on between Rama and Ravana in Sri Lanka.44.

ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang prayaat chhand |

BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA

ਭਯੋ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕੋਪੰ ਧਰਿਯੋ ਸੂਲ ਪਾਣੰ ॥
bhayo rudr kopan dhariyo sool paanan |

Shiva became enraged and held the trident in his hand.

ਕਰੇ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਸਰਬ ਖਾਲੀ ਪਲਾਣੰ ॥
kare sooramaa sarab khaalee palaanan |

In great ire, Rudra held his trident in his hand and vacating the saddles of many horses, he killed many warriors.

ਉਤੇ ਏਕ ਦਛੰ ਇਤੈ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਏਕੰ ॥
aute ek dachhan itai rudr ekan |

There was a Darsha and here a Rudra;
