ਹਣੇ ਭੂਮ ਮਾਥੰ ॥੪੪੦॥
hane bhoom maathan |440|

Heard this news, he, in great anguish, threw his head on the earth.440.

ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕੇ ਰਾਮਵਤਾਰ ਕੁੰਭਕਰਨ ਬਧਹਿ ਧਯਾਇ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ॥

End on the chapter entitled ‘The Killing of Kumbhkaran’ in Ramavtar in BACHHITTAR NATAK

ਅਥ ਤ੍ਰਿਮੁੰਡ ਜੁਧ ਕਥਨੰ ॥

Now begins the description of the war with Trimund :

ਰਸਾਵਲ ਛੰਦ ॥

RASAAVAL STANZA

ਪਠਯੋ ਤੀਨ ਮੁੰਡੰ ॥
patthayo teen munddan |

ਚਲਯੋ ਸੈਨ ਝੁੰਡੰ ॥
chalayo sain jhunddan |

Now Ravana sent the demon Trimund who marched at the head of the army

ਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੋਧੀ ॥
kritee chitr jodhee |

ਮੰਡੇ ਪਰਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੀ ॥੪੪੧॥
mandde param krodhee |441|

That warriors was unique like a portrait and a demon of supreme fury.441.

ਬਕੈਂ ਮਾਰ ਮਾਰੰ ॥
bakain maar maaran |

ਤਜੈ ਬਾਣ ਧਾਰੰ ॥
tajai baan dhaaran |

He shouted “Kill, Kill” and discharged a current of arrows,

ਹਨੂਮੰਤ ਕੋਪੇ ॥
hanoomant kope |

ਰਣੰ ਪਾਇ ਰੋਪੇ ॥੪੪੨॥
ranan paae rope |442|

With great rage Hanuman stood with a firm foot in the battlefield.442.

ਅਸੰ ਛੀਨ ਲੀਨੋ ॥
asan chheen leeno |

ਤਿਸੀ ਕੰਠਿ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
tisee kantth deeno |

Hanuman seized the sword of that demon and with the same he gave a blow on his neck.

ਹਨਯੋ ਖਸਟ ਨੈਣੰ ॥
hanayo khasatt nainan |

ਹਸੇ ਦੇਵ ਗੈਣੰ ॥੪੪੩॥
hase dev gainan |443|

That six-eyed demon was killed, seeing whom the gods smiled in the sky.443.

Now begin the description of the war with the minister Mahodar :

RASAAVAL STANZA

ਸੁਣਯੋ ਲੰਕ ਨਾਥੰ ॥
sunayo lank naathan |

ਧੁਣੇ ਸਰਬ ਮਾਥੰ ॥
dhune sarab maathan |

When Ravana heard the news about the destruction of his warriors he held his forehead in extreme anguish.

ਕਰਯੋ ਮਦ ਪਾਣੰ ॥
karayo mad paanan |

ਭਰੇ ਬੀਰ ਮਾਣੰ ॥੪੪੪॥
bhare beer maanan |444|

(In order to forget his agony), he in his pride drank wine.444.

ਮਹਿਖੁਆਸ ਕਰਖੈਂ ॥
mahikhuaas karakhain |

ਸਰੰਧਾਰ ਬਰਖੈਂ ॥
sarandhaar barakhain |

There was sound of the pulling of bows and the arrows were being showered,

ਮਹੋਦ੍ਰਾਦਿ ਵੀਰੰ ॥
mahodraad veeran |

ਹਠੇ ਖਗ ਧੀਰੰ ॥੪੪੫॥
hatthe khag dheeran |445|

The persistent warriors like Mahodar held their swords and stood firmly with forbearance.445.

ਮੋਹਣੀ ਛੰਦ ॥
mohanee chhand |

MOHINI STANZA

ਢਲ ਹਲ ਸੁਢਲੀ ਢੋਲਾਣੰ ॥
dtal hal sudtalee dtolaanan |

ਰਣ ਰੰਗ ਅਭੰਗ ਕਲੋਲਾਣੰ ॥
ran rang abhang kalolaanan |

The shields sounded like drums and there was being heard the agitated atmosphere of the war

ਭਰਣੰਕ ਸੁ ਨਦੰ ਨਾਫੀਰੰ ॥
bharanank su nadan naafeeran |

ਬਰਣੰਕਸੁ ਬਜੇ ਮਜੀਰੰ ॥੪੪੬॥
baranankas baje majeeran |446|

The sound of fifes filled a all the four directions and small cymbals of different colors rang.446.

ਭਰਣੰਕਸੁ ਭੇਰੀ ਘੋਰਾਣੰ ॥
bharanankas bheree ghoraanan |

ਜਣੁ ਸਾਵਣ ਭਾਦੋ ਮੋਰਾਣੰ ॥
jan saavan bhaado moraanan |

The kettledrums sounded like the resonance of the group of peacocks on seeing the clouds in the month of Sawan

ਉਛਲੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਖਰੇ ਪਾਵੰਗੰ ॥
auchhalee prakhare paavangan |

ਮਚੇ ਜੁਝਾਰੇ ਜੋਧੰਗੰ ॥੪੪੭॥
mache jujhaare jodhangan |447|

The armoured horse jumped and the warriors were absorbed in war.447.

ਸਿੰਧੁਰੀਏ ਸੁੰਡੀ ਦੰਤਾਲੇ ॥
sindhuree sunddee dantaale |

ਨਚੇ ਪਖਰੀਏ ਮੁਛਾਲੇ ॥
nache pakharee muchhaale |

The elephants having trunks and tusks got intoxicated and the warriors of frightful whiskers danced

ਓਰੜੀਏ ਸਰਬੰ ਸੈਣਾਯੰ ॥
orarree saraban sainaayan |

ਦੇਖੰਤ ਸੁ ਦੇਵੰ ਗੈਣਾਯੰ ॥੪੪੮॥
dekhant su devan gainaayan |448|

There was movement of all the forces and the gobs saw them from the sky.448.

ਝਲੈ ਅਵਝੜੀਯੰ ਉਝਾੜੰ ॥
jhalai avajharreeyan ujhaarran |

ਰਣ ਉਠੈ ਬੈਹੈਂ ਬਬਾੜੰ ॥
ran utthai baihain babaarran |

The blows of very stern warriors are being endured the fighters are falling in the battlefield and are flowing in the stream of blood

ਘੈ ਘੁਮੇ ਘਾਯੰ ਅਘਾਯੰ ॥
ghai ghume ghaayan aghaayan |

ਭੂਅ ਡਿਗੇ ਅਧੋ ਅਧਾਯੰ ॥੪੪੯॥
bhooa ddige adho adhaayan |449|

The wounded warriors are wandering circularly and are falling on the earth with downward faces.449.

ਰਿਸ ਮੰਡੈ ਛੰਡੈ ਅਉ ਛੰਡੈ ॥
ris manddai chhanddai aau chhanddai |

ਹਠਿ ਹਸੈ ਕਸੈ ਕੋ ਅੰਡੈ ॥
hatth hasai kasai ko anddai |

In great fury they are killing others and are going on killing the persistent warriors are tightening their weapons smilingly

ਰਿਸ ਬਾਹੈਂ ਗਾਹੈਂ ਜੋਧਾਣੰ ॥
ris baahain gaahain jodhaanan |

ਰਣ ਹੋਹੈਂ ਜੋਹੈਂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਾਣੰ ॥੪੫੦॥
ran hohain johain krodhaanan |450|

And being enraged are churning the fighters and are raising the ire of others.450.
