ਹਰਿ ਆਵਤ ਅਗ੍ਰ ਮਿਲੀ ਕੁਬਿਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਤਿਨਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਰੂਪ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

At the time of coming, Krishna met Kubja standing in front

ਗੰਧ ਲਏ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਲਾਵਨ ਕੋ ਸੁ ਲਗਾਊ ਹਉ ਯਾ ਮਨ ਬੀਚ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

Kubja saw Krishna’s charming form, she was taking away the balm for the king, she thought in her mind that it would be very good if she gets an opportunity for applying that balm on the body of K

ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਖੀ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗ ਲਗੀ ਹਮਰੇ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

When Krishna visualised her love, he said himself, “Bring it and apply it to me

ਲ੍ਯਾਵਹੁ ਲਾਵਹੁ ਰੀ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਕਬਿ ਨੈ ਜਸੁ ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੋ ਇਮ ਸਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੮੨੮॥

’ The poet has described that spectacle.828.

ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਕੋ ਆਇਸੁ ਮਾਨ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਚੰਦਨ ਦੇਹ ਲਗਾਯੋ ॥

Obeying the words of the king of Yadavas, that woman applied that balm on his body

ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕੋ ਰੂਪੁ ਨਿਹਾਰਤ ਹੀ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਮਨੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥

Seeing the beauty of Krishna, the poet Shyam has attained extreme happiness

ਜਾ ਕੋ ਨ ਅੰਤ ਲਖਿਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਈ ਦਿਨ ਗਾਯੋ ॥

He is the same Lord, even Brahma eulogizing him could not know his mystery

ਭਾਗ ਬਡੋ ਇਹ ਮਾਲਿਨ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਤਨ ਕੋ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਾਥ ਛੁਹਾਯੋ ॥੮੨੯॥

This servant is very fortunate, who has touched the body of Krishna with her own hands.829.

ਹਰਿ ਏਕ ਧਰਿਯੋ ਪਗ ਪਾਇਨ ਪੈ ਅਰੁ ਹਾਥ ਸੋ ਹਾਥ ਗਹਿਯੋ ਕੁਬਜਾ ਕੋ ॥

Krishna put his foot on the foot of Kubja and caught her hand in his hand

ਸੀਧੀ ਕਰੀ ਕੁਬਰੀ ਤੇ ਸੋਊ ਇਤਨੋ ਬਲੁ ਹੈ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਕਹੁ ਕਾ ਕੋ ॥

He straightened that hump-backed and the power of doing this is not with any other in the world

ਜਾਹਿ ਮਰਿਯੋ ਬਕ ਬੀਰ ਅਬੈ ਕਰਿ ਹੈ ਬਧ ਸੋ ਪਤਿ ਪੈ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਕੋ ॥

He who killed Bakasura, he will now kill Kansa, the king of Mathura

ਭਾਗ ਬਡੇ ਇਹ ਕੇ ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਉਪਚਾਰ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਬੈਦ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਤਾ ਕੋ ॥੮੩੦॥

The fate of this jump-backed is appreciable, who was treated as a doctor by the Lord himself.830.

SWAYYA

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਾਮਿ ਅਬੈ ਚਲੀਯੈ ਹਮਰੇ ਇਹ ਭਾਤ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਕੁਬਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ॥

ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਮੁਖੁ ਦੇਖ ਕੈ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੀ ਸੁ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਬਿਨ ਹੀ ਡਰ ਸੋ ॥

Kubja asked the Lord to go with her to her home, she was fascinated on seeing the face of Krishna, but she was also afraid of the king

ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨ੍ਯੋ ਕਿ ਮੋ ਮੈ ਰਹੀ ਬਸ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਸੋ ਛਰ ਸੋ ॥

ਕਰਿਹੌ ਤੁਮਰੋ ਸੁ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰਨ ਕੰਸ ਕੋ ਕੈ ਬਧ ਹਉ ਬਰ ਸੋ ॥੮੩੧॥

Krishna thought that she was allured on seeing him, but keeping her in illusion, the Lord (Krishan) said, “After killing Kansa, I shall fulfil your desire.”831.

ਕੁਬਜਾ ਕੋ ਸੁਵਾਰ ਕੈ ਕਾਜ ਤਬੈ ਪੁਨਿ ਦੇਖਨ ਕੇ ਰਸ ਮੈ ਅਨੁਰਾਗਿਯੋ ॥

After finishing the task of Kubja, Krishna was absorbed in seeing the city

ਧਾਇ ਗਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਧਨੁ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕੋ ਸੋ ਦੇਖਨ ਲਾਗਿਯੋ ॥

The place where the women were standing, he went there to see them

ਭ੍ਰਿਤਨ ਕੇ ਕਰਤੇ ਸੁ ਮਨੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਕੁਪਿ ਜਾਗਿਯੋ ॥

The spies of the king forbade Krishna, but he was filled with rage

ਗਾੜੀ ਕਸੀਸ ਦਈ ਧਨ ਕੋ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਕੈ ਜਿਹ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੋ ਧਨੁ ਭਾਗਿਯੋ ॥੮੩੨॥

He pulled his bow with force and with its twang, the women of the king awoke with fear.832.

ਗਾੜੀ ਕਸੀਸ ਦਈ ਕੁਪਿ ਕੈ ਰੁਪਿ ਠਾਢ ਭਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਬਿਖੈ ॥

Getting enraged, Krishna created fear and stood on the same place

ਬਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਨੋ ਦ੍ਰਿਗ ਕਾਢ ਕੈ ਠਾਢੋ ਹੈ ਪੇਖੈ ਜੋਊ ਗਿਰੈ ਭੂਮਿ ਬਿਖੈ ॥

He was standing like a lion gaping wide his eyes in wrath, whosoever saw him, fell on the ground

ਦੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਡਰਪਿਯੋ ਮਘਵਾ ਡਰਪਿਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਜੋਊ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖੈ ॥

Seeing this scene even Brahma and Indra were filled with fear

ਧਨੁ ਕੇ ਟੁਕਰੇ ਸੰਗ ਜੋਧਨ ਮਾਰਤ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਸੁ ਤਿਖੈ ॥੮੩੩॥

Breaking his bow, Krishna began to kill with its sharp bits.833.

ਕਬਿਯੋ ਬਾਚ ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਧਨੁਖ ਤੇਜ ਮੈ ਬਰਨਿਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਕਥਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਜ ॥

For the sake of the story of Krishna, I have mentioned the strength of the bow

ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਚੂਕ ਮੋ ਤੇ ਭਈ ਛਿਮੀਯੈ ਸੋ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ॥੮੩੪॥

O Lord! I have greatly and extremely erred, forgive me for this.834.

ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

SWAYYA

ਧਨੁ ਕੋ ਟੁਕਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਬਰ ਬੀਰਨ ਕੋ ਸੋਊ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਾਗਿਯੋ ॥

Taking the bit of the bow in his hand Krishna began to kill there the great heroes

ਧਾਇ ਪਰੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਬੀਰ ਤਬੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਕੁਪਿ ਜਾਗਿਯੋ ॥

There those heroes also fell upon Krishna in great rage

ਫੇਰਿ ਲਗਿਯੋ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਨ ਜੁਧਹ ਕੇ ਰਸ ਮੋ ਅਨੁਰਾਗਿਯੋ ॥

Krishna also absorbed in fighting also began to kill them

ਸੋਰ ਭਯੋ ਅਤਿ ਠਉਰ ਤਹਾ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਸਿਵ ਜੂ ਉਠਿ ਭਾਗਿਯੋ ॥੮੩੫॥

There was such a great noise there that on hearing the same even Shiva arose and fled.835.

ਕਬਿਤੁ ॥

KABIT

ਤੀਨੋ ਲੋਕ ਪਤਿ ਅਤਿ ਜੁਧੁ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪਿ ਭਰੇ ਤਊਨੇ ਠਉਰ ਜਹਾ ਬਰਬੀਰ ਅਤਿ ਸ੍ਵੈ ਰਹੇ ॥

Where great warriors are standing firmly, there Krishna is fighting greatly enraged’

ਐਸੇ ਬੀਰ ਗਿਰੇ ਜੈਸੇ ਬਾਢੀ ਕੇ ਕਟੇ ਤੇ ਰੂਖ ਗਿਰੇ ਬਿਸੰਭਾਰੁ ਅਸਿ ਹਾਥਨ ਨਹੀ ਗਹੇ ॥

The warriors are falling like the trees being cut by the carpenter

ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਤਰੰਗਨੀ ਉਠੀ ਹੈ ਤਹਾ ਜੋਧਨ ਤੈ ਸੀਸ ਸਮ ਬਟੇ ਅਸਿ ਨਕ੍ਰ ਭਾਤਿ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਬਹੇ ॥

There is a flood of warriors and the heads and swords are flowing the blood

ਗੋਰੇ ਪੈ ਬਰਦ ਚੜਿ ਆਇ ਥੇ ਬਰਦ ਪਤਿ ਗੋਰੀ ਗਉਰਾ ਗੋਰੇ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਰਾਤੇ ਰਾਤੇ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਰਹੇ ॥੮੩੬॥

Shiva and Gauri had come riding on the white bull, but here they were dyed in red.836.

ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਭਰੇ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਬਲਭਦ੍ਰ ਜੂ ਨੈ ਕੀਨੋ ਰਨ ਭਾਗ ਗਏ ਭਟ ਨ ਸੁਭਟ ਠਾਢ ਕੁਇ ਰਹਿਯੋ ॥

Krishna and Balram fought the battle in great ire, which caused all the warriors to run away

ਐਸੇ ਝੂਮਿ ਪਰੇ ਬੀਰ ਮਾਰੇ ਧਨ ਟੂਕਨ ਕੇ ਮਾਨੋ ਕੰਸ ਰਾਜਾ ਜੂ ਕੋ ਸਾਰੋ ਦਲੁ ਸ੍ਵੈ ਰਹਿਯੋ ॥

The warriors fell on being struck by the bits of the bow and it seemed that the whole army of king Kansa fell on the earth

ਕੇਤੇ ਉਠਿ ਭਾਗੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਜੁਧ ਹੀ ਕੋ ਫੇਰਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਸੋਊ ਸਮ ਬਨ ਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਤਾਤੋ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕਹਿਯੋ ॥

Many warriors got up and ran away and many were again absorbed in fighting

ਗਜਨ ਕੇ ਸੁੰਡਨ ਤੇ ਐਸੇ ਛੀਟੈ ਛੂਟੀ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਅੰਬਰ ਅਨੂਪ ਲਾਲ ਛੀਟ ਛਬਿ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਰਹਿਯੋ ॥੮੩੭॥

The Lord Krishna also began to burn with anger like the hot water in the forest, there is splash of blood from the trunks of the elephants and the whole sky is looking reddish like the red splash.837

ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

DOHRA

ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਹਲੀ ਧਨੁ ਟੂਕ ਸੋ ਘਨ ਦਲ ਦਯੋ ਨਿਘਾਇ ॥

Krishna and Balram destroyed the whole army of the enemy with the bits of the bow

ਤਿਨ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਬਧ ਸ੍ਰਉਨਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਅਉ ਪੁਨਿ ਦਯੋ ਪਠਾਇ ॥੮੩੮॥

Hearing about the killing of his army, Kansa sent more warriors there again.838.

SWAYYA

ਬੀਚ ਚਮੂੰ ਧਸਿ ਬੀਰਨ ਕੀ ਧਨ ਟੂਕਨ ਸੋ ਬਹੁ ਬੀਰ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥

Krishna killed the four fold army with the bits of the bow
