ਦਾਨਵ ਗੀਧ ਕੇਤੁ ਕੋ ਭ੍ਰਾਤਾ ॥
daanav geedh ket ko bhraataa |Brother of the vulture Ketu demon
ਕਾਕ ਕੇਤੁ ਤਿਹੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਬਿਖ੍ਯਾਤਾ ॥
kaak ket tihoon lok bikhayaataa |Kak Ketu was famous among the three people.
ਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਕੇਤੁ ਦਾਨਵ ਇਕ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
kraoor ket daanav ik dhaayo |A cruel demon named Ketu with him
ਲੀਨੇ ਅਮਿਤ ਦੈਤ ਦਲ ਆਯੋ ॥੬੫॥
leene amit dait dal aayo |65|Permission to take an unaccountable party. 65.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |Self:
ਕਾਕ ਧੁਜਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਤਹੀ ਛਿਨ ਆਨਿ ਪਰਿਯੋ ਕਰਵਾਰ ਨਿਕਾਰੇ ॥
kaak dhujaa kar kop tahee chhin aan pariyo karavaar nikaare |Kak Dhuj got angry and immediately drew his sword.
ਸਿੰਘ ਸਲਾ ਸਰਦੂਲ ਸਿਲੀਮੁਖ ਸਾਲ ਤਮਾਲ ਹਨੇ ਅਹਿ ਕਾਰੇ ॥
singh salaa saradool sileemukh saal tamaal hane eh kaare |(He) killed the lion, the rock, the shardul, the arrow-mouthed, the sal and the tamal and the black serpent.
ਸ੍ਵਾਨ ਸ੍ਰਿੰਗਾਲ ਸੁਰਾਤਕ ਸੀਸ ਧੁਜਾ ਰਥ ਨਾਗ ਧਰਾਧਰ ਭਾਰੇ ॥
svaan sringaal suraatak sees dhujaa rath naag dharaadhar bhaare |Dogs, jackals, giants ('surantakas') heads, dhujas, chariots, serpents and great heavy mountains.
ਯੌ ਬਰਖੇ ਨਭ ਤੇ ਹਰਖੇ ਰਿਪੁ ਆਨਿ ਦਸੋ ਦਿਸਿ ਤੇ ਭਭਕਾਰੇ ॥੬੬॥
yau barakhe nabh te harakhe rip aan daso dis te bhabhakaare |66|It was raining from the sky and the enemies came from the four directions shouting happily. 66.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਮਾਯਾ ਦੈਤ ਪਸਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਪੁਨਿ ਬੋਲਾ ਇਮਿ ਬੈਨ ॥
maayaa dait pasaar kai pun bolaa im bain |The demon radiated illusory power and then spoke like this
ਜੁਧੁ ਸੁਯੰਬਰ ਜੀਤਿ ਤੁਹਿ ਲੈ ਜੈਹੌ ਨਿਜੁ ਐਨ ॥੬੭॥
judh suyanbar jeet tuhi lai jaihau nij aain |67|That (I) will take you to my home after winning the battle. 67.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |Self:
ਰਾਜ ਸੁਤਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਤਿਹੀ ਛਿਨ ਸਾਮੁਹਿ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹਥਿਯਾਰ ਗਹੇ ॥
raaj sutaa kar kop tihee chhin saamuhi hvai hathiyaar gahe |Raj Kumari immediately came forward with a weapon in her hand.
ਬਲਵਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਕੋ ਤਾਨਿ ਹਨੇ ਕਬਿ ਰਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਜੁ ਚਹੇ ॥
balavaan kamaan ko taan hane kab raam bhanai chit mai ju chahe |Poet Ram says that (Raj Kumari) drew a strong bow and killed whomever he desired.
ਸਰ ਸੂਰ ਦਇੰਤਨ ਕੇ ਤਨ ਮੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਲਗੇ ਨਹਿ ਜਾਤ ਕਹੇ ॥
sar soor deintan ke tan mai ih bhaat lage neh jaat kahe |Arrows pierced the bodies of heroes and giants like this, which cannot be described.
ਮਨੋ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਬਾਗ ਅਸੋਕ ਬਿਖੈ ਫੁਲਵਾਰਿਨ ਕੇ ਫਲ ਫੂਲ ਰਹੇ ॥੬੮॥
mano indr ke baag asok bikhai fulavaarin ke fal fool rahe |68|(It appears like this) as if flowers and fruits were planted in the flower gardens of Ashoka Bagh of Indra. 68.
ਕਾਢਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਮਹਾ ਕੁਪਿ ਕੈ ਭਟ ਕੂਦਿ ਪਰੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਕਰੋਰੇ ॥
kaadt kripaan mahaa kup kai bhatt kood pare saradaar karore |With swords drawn and enraged, the chieftains of crores of soldiers rushed into battle.
ਬਾਲ ਹਨੇ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਘਨੇ ਇਕ ਫਾਸਿਨ ਸੌ ਗਹਿ ਕੈ ਝਕਝੋਰੇ ॥
baal hane balavaan ghane ik faasin sau geh kai jhakajhore |(That) Raj Kumari caught many strong warriors with a noose and thrashed them.
ਸਾਜ ਪਰੇ ਕਹੂੰ ਤਾਜ ਗਿਰੇ ਗਜਰਾਜ ਗਿਰੇ ਛਿਤ ਪੈ ਸਿਰ ਤੋਰੇ ॥
saaj pare kahoon taaj gire gajaraaj gire chhit pai sir tore |Somewhere the ornaments are lying, somewhere the crowns are fallen, somewhere the elephants are scratching their heads on the ground.
ਲੁਟੇ ਰਥੀ ਰਥ ਫੂਟੇ ਕਹੂੰ ਬਿਨੁ ਸ੍ਵਾਰ ਫਿਰੈ ਹਿਨਨਾਵਤ ਘੋਰੇ ॥੬੯॥
lutte rathee rath footte kahoon bin svaar firai hinanaavat ghore |69|Somewhere the charioteers are lying down, somewhere the chariots are broken and somewhere the horses without riders are walking around. 69.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਜੇ ਭਟ ਅਮਿਤ ਕੋਪ ਕਰਿ ਧਾਏ ॥
je bhatt amit kop kar dhaae |As many warriors came with great anger,
ਤੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਤਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਸੁਰਗ ਸਿਧਾਏ ॥
te bin tan hvai surag sidhaae |They all went to heaven without body.
ਚਟਪਟ ਬਿਕਟ ਪਲਟਿ ਜੇ ਲਰੇ ॥
chattapatt bikatt palatt je lare |The fierce warriors who quickly turned and fought,
ਕਟਿ ਕਟਿ ਮਰੇ ਬਰੰਗਨਿਨ ਬਰੇ ॥੭੦॥
katt katt mare baranganin bare |70|They were cut down and killed by the Apachharas. 70.
ਜੇ ਭਟ ਬਿਮੁਖਾਹਵ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਮੂਏ ॥
je bhatt bimukhaahav hvai mooe |The warriors who died faceless on the battlefield,
ਇਤ ਕੇ ਭਏ ਨ ਉਤ ਕੇ ਹੂਏ ॥
eit ke bhe na ut ke hooe |They will not give from here nor will they give from there (hereafter).
ਗਰਜਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਬੀਰਨ ਜਿਨ ਦਏ ॥
garaj praan beeran jin de |Those who gave their lives like heroes by ringing the bell,
ਦੈ ਦੁੰਦਭੀ ਸ੍ਵਰਗ ਜਨੁ ਗਏ ॥੭੧॥
dai dundabhee svarag jan ge |71|They went to heaven as if they were shouting. 71.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਜਿਨ ਇਸਤ੍ਰਿਨ ਜਰਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਆਪਨੇ ਦੀਨ ॥
jin isatrin jar agan mai praan aapane deen |Women who have given their lives by burning in the fire (i.e. by becoming sati),
ਝਗਰਿ ਬਰੰਗਨਿਨ ਤੇ ਤਹਾ ਛੀਨਿ ਪਤਿਨ ਕਹ ਲੀਨ ॥੭੨॥
jhagar baranganin te tahaa chheen patin kah leen |72|They have taken away their husbands after quarreling with the Apachharas there. 72.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਐਸੇ ਬਾਲ ਬੀਰ ਬਹੁ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
aaise baal beer bahu maare |Thus (that) Raj Kumari killed many warriors
ਸੁਮਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਦਿਕ ਹਨਿ ਡਾਰੇ ॥
sumat singh aadik han ddaare |And also killed Sumati Singh etc.
ਸਮਰ ਸੈਨ ਰਾਜਾ ਪੁਨਿ ਹਯੋ ॥
samar sain raajaa pun hayo |Then Samar San killed the king
ਤਾਲ ਕੇਤੁ ਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਲੋਕ ਪਠਯੋ ॥੭੩॥
taal ket mrit lok patthayo |73|And sent Tal Ketu to the world of the dead. 73.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੇਤੁ ਕਹ ਪੁਨਿ ਹਨਿ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
braham ket kah pun han deeno |Then (he) took the life of the divine Ketu
ਕਾਰਤਿਕੇਯ ਧੁਜ ਕੋ ਬਧ ਕੀਨੋ ॥
kaaratikey dhuj ko badh keeno |And Kartikeya extinguished the light.
ਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਕੇਤੁ ਦਾਨਵ ਤਬ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
kraoor ket daanav tab dhaayo |Then the cruel Ketu demon arrived
ਤੁਮਲ ਜੁਧ ਤਿਹ ਠੌਰ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥੭੪॥
tumal judh tih tthauar machaayo |74|And in that place, the Ghamsan war was created. 74.
ਕੌਲ ਕੇਤੁ ਦਾਨਵ ਉਠਿ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
kaual ket daanav utth dhaayo |(Then) the giant Kaul Ketu rose up and came
ਕਮਠ ਕੇਤੁ ਚਿਤ ਅਧਿਕ ਰਿਸਾਯੋ ॥
kamatth ket chit adhik risaayo |And Kamath Ketu became very angry in (his) mind.
ਕੇਤੁ ਉਲੂਕ ਚਲਾ ਦਲ ਲੈ ਕੈ ॥
ket ulook chalaa dal lai kai |(Then) Uluk went with Ketu's party
ਕੁਤਿਸਿਤ ਕੇਤੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਤਨ ਤੈ ਕੈ ॥੭੫॥
kutisit ket krodh tan tai kai |75|And Kutisit Ketu became angry (walked) ॥75॥
ਕੌਲ ਕੇਤੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਤਬੈ ਸੰਘਾਰਾ ॥
kaual ket triy tabai sanghaaraa |Kaul Ketu was killed by the woman (Raj Kumari).
ਕੁਤਿਸਿਤ ਕੇਤੁ ਮਾਰ ਹੀ ਡਾਰਾ ॥
kutisit ket maar hee ddaaraa |And also killed Kutisit Ketu.
