ਪੰਡੁ ਕੇ ਪੁਤ੍ਰਨ ਕੋ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਦਈਯਤ ਹੈ ਸੁਖ ਕੈ ਦੁਖ ਦਈਯੈ ॥੧੦੦੭॥
pandd ke putran ko tih tthaur deeyat hai sukh kai dukh deeyai |1007|They are all giving sufferings instead of comforts to the sons of Pandava.”1007.
ਯੌ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਅਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਪ੍ਰਨਾਮ ਸਿਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
yau sun kai tih kee bateeyaa kar kai akraoor pranaam sidhaariyo |Hearing him speak like this, Akrur bowed and left.
ਪੰਥ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਗਨਉ ਕਹਿ ਲਉ ਪਗ ਬੀਚ ਗਜਾਪੁਰ ਕੇ ਤਿਨਿ ਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
panth kee baat gnau keh lau pag beech gajaapur ke tin dhaariyo |Hearing these words, Akrur bowed and started and reached Hastinapur, what mention should I make about the way?
ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਭਏ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਬੀਚ ਸਭਾ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
praat bhe nrip beech sabhaa kab sayaam kahai ih bhaat uchaariyo |Poet Shyam says, in the morning he went to the king's assembly and said thus.
ਭੂਪ ਕਹੀ ਕਹੁ ਮੋ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਦੁਬੀਰਹਿ ਜਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੰਸ ਪਛਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੦੦੮॥
bhoop kahee kahu mo birathaa jadubeereh jaa bidh kans pachhaariyo |1008|In the morning, he went to the court of the king, where the king said, “O Akrur! tell me in what way Krishna overthrew Kansa?”1008.
ਬਤੀਯਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਉਤਰ ਦੇਤ ਭਯੋ ਰਿਪੁ ਸੋ ਸਭ ਜਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਲਰਿਯੋ ॥
bateeyaa sun utar det bhayo rip so sabh jaa bidh sayaam lariyo |Hearing these words, Akrur told all those devices, which were used by Krishna in fighting against his enemies
ਗਜ ਮਾਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਕੈ ਮਲਨ ਕੋ ਦਲ ਫਾਰ ਕੈ ਕੰਸ ਸੋ ਜਾਇ ਅਰਿਯੋ ॥
gaj maar prahaar kai malan ko dal faar kai kans so jaae ariyo |He also told this how Krishna killing the elephant and overthrowing the group of wrestlers withstood against Kansa
ਤਬ ਕੰਸ ਨਿਕਾਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਕਰੈ ਅਰੁ ਢਾਲ ਸਮ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਜੁਧੁ ਕਰਿਯੋ ॥
tab kans nikaar kripaan karai ar dtaal samrahaar ke judh kariyo |Then Kansa fought with sword and shield in hand.
ਤਬ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਗਹਿ ਕੇਸਨ ਤੇ ਪਟਕਿਓ ਧਰਨੀ ਪਰ ਮਾਰਿ ਡਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੦੦੯॥
tab hee har joo geh kesan te pattakio dharanee par maar ddariyo |1009|Then Kansa fought, holding his sward and shield and at the same instant Krishna, catching hold of Kansa by his hair, knocked him down on the ground.1009.
ਭੀਖਮ ਦ੍ਰੋਣ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਰੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪੀਸੁਤ ਔਰ ਦੁਸਾਸਨ ਬੀਰ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
bheekham dron kripaar kripeesut aauar dusaasan beer nihaariyo |(Akrur saw in the Rajya Sabha) Bhishma Pitama, Dronacharya, Kripacharya, Asvasthama and Dushasana Surama.
ਸੂਰਜ ਕੋ ਸੁਤ ਭੂਰਿਸ੍ਰਵਾ ਜਿਨ ਪਾਰਥ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਸੋ ਬੈਰ ਉਤਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
sooraj ko sut bhoorisravaa jin paarath bhraat so bair utaariyo |Akrur saw Bhishma, Drona, Kripacharya, Ashvathama and also Bhurshrava, the son of Sun-god, who avenged Arjuna
ਰਾਜ ਦੁਰਜੋਧਨ ਮਾਤਲ ਸੋ ਇਹ ਪੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
raaj durajodhan maatal so ih pekhat hee ih bhaat uchaariyo |The king Duryodhana, on seeing Akrur, his maternal uncle asked him about the whereabouts of Krishna and Vasudev
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹਾ ਬਸੁਦੇਵ ਕਹਾ ਕਹਿ ਅੰਗਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਮਨ ਕੋ ਦੁਖ ਟਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੦੧੦॥
sayaam kahaa basudev kahaa keh ang mile man ko dukh ttaariyo |1010|With these words, being pleased, he met Akrur.1010.
ਰੰਚਕ ਬੈਠਿ ਸਭਾ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੀ ਉਠ ਕੈ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਫੁਫੀ ਪਹਿ ਆਯੋ ॥
ranchak baitth sabhaa nrip kee utth kai jadubeer fufee peh aayo |After sitting for a short while in the royal court, Akrur came to the aunt
ਕੁੰਤੀ ਕਉ ਦੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਨ ਸੀਸ ਝੁਕਾਯੋ ॥
kuntee kau dekhat hee kab sayaam kahai tin paaein sees jhukaayo |On seeing Kunti, he bowed down his head
ਪੂਛਤ ਭੀ ਕੁਸਲੈ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਹੈ ਜਾ ਜਸੁ ਬੀਚ ਸਭੈ ਧਰਿ ਛਾਯੋ ॥
poochhat bhee kusalai jadubeer hai jaa jas beech sabhai dhar chhaayo |(Kunti) began to ask, Krishna is happy, whose success is spread over the whole earth.
ਨੀਕੇ ਹੈ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਸਨੈ ਬਸੁਦੇਵ ਸੁ ਦੇਵਕੀ ਨੀਕੀ ਸੁਨੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੧੦੧੧॥
neeke hai sayaam sanai basudev su devakee neekee sunee sukh paayo |1011|She asked about the health of Krishna and was pleased to know about the welfare of Vasudev, Devaki and also Krishna, whose approbation had spread throughout the world.1011.
ਇਤਨੇ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਦੁਰ ਆਇ ਗਯੋ ਸੋਊ ਪਾਰਥ ਮਾਇ ਕੈ ਪਾਇਨ ਲਾਗਿਯੋ ॥
eitane meh bidur aae gayo soaoo paarath maae kai paaein laagiyo |In the meantime Vidura had come
ਪੂਛਤ ਭਯੋ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਸੁਖੀ ਅਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਕਉ ਤਾ ਰਸ ਮੋ ਅਨੁਰਾਗਿਯੋ ॥
poochhat bhayo jadubeer sukhee akraoor kau taa ras mo anuraagiyo |On coming he had touched the feet of the mother of Arjan, he also asked Akrur about Krishna with affection
ਅਉਰ ਗਈ ਸੁਧਿ ਭੂਲ ਸਭੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਇਹੀ ਰਸ ਭੀਤਰ ਪਾਗਿਯੋ ॥
aaur gee sudh bhool sabhai kab sayaam ihee ras bheetar paagiyo |Vidura was absorbed so much in the affectionate talk about Krishna that he forgot about any other matter
ਵਾਹ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਸੁਖੀ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਸੁਖ ਭਯੋ ਦੁਖ ਭਾਗਿਯੋ ॥੧੦੧੨॥
vaah kahiyo sabh hee hai sukhee sun kai bateeyaa sukh bhayo dukh bhaagiyo |1012|Knowing about the welfare of all, he blessed them, he obtained great comfort ending his anxiety.1012.

ਕੇਲ ਕਰੈ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਮੈ ਸੋਊ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹਉ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥਿ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ॥
kel karai mathuraa mai soaoo man te kahiyo hau brijanaath bisaaree |He (Krishna) is mourning in Mathura, why has Krishna forgotten me?
ਦੁਖਿਤ ਭਈ ਇਨ ਲੋਗਨ ਤੇ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਘਨਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਪੁਕਾਰੀ ॥
dukhit bhee in logan te at hee keh kai ghan sayaam pukaaree |“Krishna is absorbed in his plays in Mathura and has forgotten me,” Kunti said in a loud voice, “I have been greatly aggrieved by the behaviours of the people (Kaurvas) of this place
ਨਾਥ ਮਰਿਯੋ ਸੁਤ ਬਾਲ ਰਹੇ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਅਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਭਯੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
naath mariyo sut baal rahe tih te akraoor bhayo dukh bhaaree |“My husband has passed away and the children are still minor
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਹਉ ਪੂਛਤ ਹੌਂ ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਲੇਤ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧੦੧੩॥
taa te hau poochhat hauan tum ko kabahoon har jee sudh let hamaaree |1013|Therefore, O Akrur! I am in great agony and ask you whether Krishna will also communicate with us.1013.
ਦੁਖਿਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਅਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਹੀ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਅੰਧ ਰਿਸੈ ਸੇ ॥
dukhit hvai akraoor ke sang kahee bateeyaa nrip andh risai se |Saddened, (Kunti) spoke to Akrura (all those things) by which the blind king was enraged.
ਦੇਤ ਹੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਘਨੋ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਕਹਿਓ ਸੁਨਿ ਮੀਤ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਸੋ ਐਸੇ ॥
det hai dukh ghano ham kau kahio sun meet sayaam so aaise |“The blind king Dhritrashtra is angry with us,” this was told by Kunti to Akrur and said further, “O Akrur! please tell Krishna that all of them are agonising us
ਪਾਰਥ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਰੁਚੇ ਉਨ ਕੋ ਨਹਿ ਵਾਹਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਕਹੁ ਸੋ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੈਸੇ ॥
paarath bhraat ruche un ko neh vaeh kahiyo kahu so bidh kaise |“Arjuna considers all of them as brother-like, but they do not respond likewise
ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਉਤਰ ਦੇਤ ਭਈ ਸੋਊ ਆਂਖ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਪਰੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਣ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੧੦੧੪॥
yau sun utar det bhee soaoo aankh ke beech pare trin jaise |1014|How should I describe my anguish?” And saying thus, the tears rolled down from the eyes of Kunti as if some straw was troubling her eye.1014.
ਕਹਿ ਯੌ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਹਮਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਅਤਿ ਸੋਕ ਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰ ਮੈ ਬੂਡਿ ਗਈ ਹਉ ॥
keh yau binatee hamaree har so at sok samundr mai boodd gee hau |Please say my request to Krishna that I have drowned in the ocean of great sorrow.
ਜੀਵਤ ਹੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਤੁਹਿ ਆਇਸ ਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਈ ਹਉ ॥
jeevat ho kab sayaam kahai tuhi aaeis paae kai naam kee hau |“O Akrur! tell Krishna that I have been drowned in the ocean of sorrow and am living only on your name and best wishes
ਮਾਰਨ ਮੋ ਸੁਤ ਕੌ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਸੁਤ ਕੋਟਿ ਉਪਾਵਨ ਸੋ ਕਢਈ ਹਉ ॥
maaran mo sut kau nrip ke sut kott upaavan so kadtee hau |“The sons of the king are making great efforts to kill my sons
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਸੋ ਇਉ ਕਹੀਯੋ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਥ ਅਨਾਥ ਭਈ ਹਉ ॥੧੦੧੫॥
sayaam so iau kaheeyo bateeyaa tumare bin naath anaath bhee hau |1015|O Akrur! tell Krishna that without him we are all helpless.”1015.
ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਤਿਹ ਸੋ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਦੁਖ ਸ੍ਵਾਸ ਉਸਾਸ ਸੁ ਲੀਨੋ ॥
yau keh kai tih so bateeyaa at hee dukh svaas usaas su leeno |Saying such things, he sighed with great pain.
ਜੋ ਦੁਖ ਮੋਰੇ ਰਿਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਥੋ ਸੋਊ ਮੈ ਤੁਮ ਪੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਕਹਿ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
jo dukh more ride meh tho soaoo mai tum pai sabh hee keh deeno |Saying this, Kunti heaved a long and sorrowful sigh and said further, “Whatever anguish I had in my heart, I have disclosed that
ਸੋ ਸੁਨੀਐ ਹਮਰੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕਹੀਯੋ ਦੁਖ ਕੀ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਹਠੀ ਨੋ ॥
so suneeai hamaree birathaa kaheeyo dukh kee jadubeer hatthee no |He will listen to my grief-stricken vithya, (go) and tell Sri Krishna Hatile.
ਹੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਅਨਾਥਨ ਨਾਥ ਸਹਾਇ ਕਰੋ ਕਹਿ ਰੋਦਨ ਕੀਨੋ ॥੧੦੧੬॥
he brijanaath anaathan naath sahaae karo keh rodan keeno |1016|“O Akrur! the hero of the Yadavas! you may please tell all my painful story to Krishna,” and again lamenting she said, ‘O the Lord of Braja! kindly help the poor creatures like us.’ “1016.

ਦੇਖਿ ਦੁਖਾਤੁਰ ਪਾਰਥ ਮਾਤ ਕੋ ਯੌਂ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਤ੍ਵੈ ਸੁਤ ਹੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹੈ ॥
dekh dukhaatur paarath maat ko yauan kahiyo tvai sut hee nrip hvai hai |Seeing the mother of Arjun in agony, Akrur said, “Krishna has great love for you
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਘਨੀ ਤੁਮ ਸੋਂ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਦੈ ਹੈ ॥
sayaam kee preet ghanee tum son tih te tum ko at hee sukh dai hai |Your son will become the king and you will be in great comfort
ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਓਰਿ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹੈ ਸੁਭ ਲਛਨ ਤੁਇ ਸੁਤ ਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਕੋ ਦੁਖ ਦੈ ਹੈ ॥
teree hee or hvai hai subh lachhan tue sut satran ko dukh dai hai |“All the good omens will be on your side and your sons will agonise the enemies
ਰਾਜ ਸਭੈ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਲਹਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਕੋ ਜਮਲੋਕਿ ਪਠੈ ਹੈ ॥੧੦੧੭॥
raaj sabhai uh hee leh hai har satran ko jamalok patthai hai |1017|They will obtain the kingdom and send the enemies to the abode of Yama.”1017.
ਯੌ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਅਕ੍ਰੂਰਹਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

ਕੈ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਨਾਮ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪੁ ਤ੍ਵੈ ਸੁਤ ਹੋ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
kai kai pranaam chaliyo tab hee nrip tvai sut ho ih bhaat uchaariyo |He bowed and left, in order to know the affection of people,
ਕਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੋਗਨ ਕੋ ਹਿਤ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਚਿੰਤ ਕਰੀ ਪੁਰ ਮੈ ਪਗ ਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
