ਨਭ ਅਉਰ ਧਰਾ ਦੋਊ ਛਾਇ ਰਹੇ ॥੧੭॥
nabh aaur dharaa doaoo chhaae rahe |17|The arrows were showered so intensely from both the sides, that there was shade on the earth and over the sky.17.
ਗਿਰਗੇ ਤਹ ਟੋਪਨ ਟੂਕ ਘਨੇ ॥
girage tah ttopan ttook ghane |Many pieces of helmets were lying there
ਰਹਗੇ ਜਨੁ ਕਿੰਸਕ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਸਨੇ ॥
rahage jan kinsak sron sane |The helmets broke and fell in eh battlefield like the flowers saturated with blood.
ਰਣ ਹੇਰਿ ਅਗੰਮ ਅਨੂਪ ਹਰੰ ॥
ran her agam anoop haran |Seeing such an incredible and unforeseeable war,
ਜੀਯ ਮੋ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਕਰੰ ॥੧੮॥
jeey mo ih bhaat bichaar karan |18|The unapproachable and unique Shiva thought over in this way in his mind.18.
ਜੀਯ ਮੋ ਸਿਵ ਦੇਖਿ ਰਹਾ ਚਕ ਕੈ ॥
jeey mo siv dekh rahaa chak kai |Shiva was shocked at the sight of the war
ਦਲ ਦੈਤਨ ਮਧਿ ਪਰਾ ਹਕ ਕੈ ॥
dal daitan madh paraa hak kai |And perplexed in his heart, Shiva, shouting loudly, jumped into the forces of the demons.
ਰਣਿ ਸੂਲ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਕਰੰ ॥
ran sool sanbhaar prahaar karan |Holding the trident (he) was fighting in the Rann.
ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਧੁਨਿ ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਡਰੰ ॥੧੯॥
sun ke dhun dev adev ddaran |19|Holding his trident, he began to strike blows and hearing the sound of his blows, both the gods and demons were all filled with fear.19.
ਜੀਯ ਮੋ ਸਿਵ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਧਰਾ ਜਬ ਹੀ ॥
jeey mo siv dhayaan dharaa jab hee |When Shiva noticed 'time' in his mind,
ਕਲਿ ਕਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਿ ਭਏ ਤਬ ਹੀ ॥
kal kaal prasan bhe tab hee |When Shiva meditated in his mind on the non-temporal Lord, the Lord was pleased at the same time.
ਕਹਿਯੋ ਬਿਸਨ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਰੂਪ ਧਰੋ ॥
kahiyo bisan jalandhar roop dharo |(They) said to Vishnu, "(Go) and assume the form of Jalandhar
ਪੁਨਿ ਜਾਇ ਰਿਪੇਸ ਕੋ ਨਾਸ ਕਰੋ ॥੨੦॥
pun jaae ripes ko naas karo |20|Vishnu was ordered to manifest himself as Jalndhar and in this way destroy the king of enemies.20.
ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang prayaat chhand |BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA
ਦਈ ਕਾਲ ਆਗਿਆ ਧਰਿਯੋ ਬਿਸਨ ਰੂਪੰ ॥
dee kaal aagiaa dhariyo bisan roopan |When time allowed, Vishnu assumed the form of Jalandhar.
ਸਜੇ ਸਾਜ ਸਰਬੰ ਬਨਿਯੋ ਜਾਨ ਭੂਪੰ ॥
saje saaj saraban baniyo jaan bhoopan |The Destroyer Lord commanded and Vishnu manifested himself in the form of Jalandhar, and bedecked in all manner, he appeared as a kiing.
ਕਰਿਯੋ ਨਾਥ ਯੋ ਆਪ ਨਾਰੰ ਉਧਾਰੰ ॥
kariyo naath yo aap naaran udhaaran |Lord (Vishnu) thus lent his wife.
ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਰਾਜ ਬ੍ਰਿੰਦਾ ਸਤੀ ਸਤ ਟਾਰੰ ॥੨੧॥
triyaa raaj brindaa satee sat ttaaran |21|Vishnu manifested himself in this form in order to protect his wife, and in this way, he defiled the chastity of the extremely chaste Varinda.21.
ਤਜਿਯੋ ਦੇਹਿ ਦੈਤੰ ਭਈ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਨਾਰੰ ॥
tajiyo dehi daitan bhee bisan naaran |Brinda left the demonic body immediately and became Lachmi.
ਧਰਿਯੋ ਦੁਆਦਸਮੋ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਦਈਤਾਵਤਾਰੰ ॥
dhariyo duaadasamo bisan deetaavataaran |Abandoning the body of demoness, Varinda again manifested herself as Lakshmi, the wife of Vishnu and in this way Vishnu assumed the twelfth incarnation in the form of a demon.
ਪੁਨਰ ਜੁਧੁ ਸਜਿਯੋ ਗਹੇ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਪਾਣੰ ॥
punar judh sajiyo gahe sasatr paanan |Again the war started and the heroes took weapons in their hands.
ਗਿਰੇ ਭੂਮਿ ਮੋ ਸੂਰ ਸੋਭੇ ਬਿਮਾਣੰ ॥੨੨॥
gire bhoom mo soor sobhe bimaanan |22|The war continued again and the warriors held their weapons in their hands the brave fighters began to fall in the battlefield and also the air-vehicles came down in order to take away the dead warriors from the battlefield.22.
ਮਿਟਿਯੋ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਰੰ ਕਟਿਯੋ ਸੈਨ ਸਰਬੰ ॥
mittiyo sat naaran kattiyo sain saraban |(Here) the seven of the women were destroyed, (there) the whole army was cut off
ਮਿਟਿਯੋ ਭੂਪ ਜਾਲੰਧਰੰ ਦੇਹ ਗਰਬੰ ॥
mittiyo bhoop jaalandharan deh garaban |On this side, the chastity of woman was defiled and on that side all the army was chopped. By this the pride of Jalandhar was shattered.
