Never (any) grief or turmoil could shake him.
In his house there was a woman named Gurh Mati.
Her beautiful beauty cannot be described.1.
There used to be a happy king
Who was very personable, polite and affectionate.
He had a daughter named Sukach Mati.
(It seemed like this) as if the art of the moon had appeared. 2.
There (one day) came a merchant.
(He had) untold wealth, which cannot be counted.
(He) had camels loaded with mace, nutmeg, cloves, cardamom,
Who can describe (whom) well. 3.
He landed at his house
And went to meet Shah.
Sukach Mati reprimanded that occasion
And stole all the money. 4.
(Then) by taking all the wealth of the house
Later the house was set on fire.
The daughter came to her father crying.
Told him that the house is burnt. 5.
Hearing that girl's words, both the Shahs ran away (there).
And arrived to take out the goods of the house.
What did they see when they came forward?
That there (the whole house) is a pile of ashes. 6.
Then the daughter said thus,
Oh father! I have this pain in my heart.
I do not grieve the loss of my (property).
But I am very sorry for these (losses). 7.
Then the Shah said this to the son
That what was written in our sections has happened.
Don't take any pain from it.
(The Lord Himself) will give them all the burnt money.8.
That fool did not understand the difference
And returned home again deceived.
(He) considered it as his karmic line
And did not understand the custom of a woman's character. 9.

Even his father could not understand this secret.
Even being wise, he could not understand the difference
And shaved his head without applying water (i.e. badly cheated).10.
