ਸਮਰ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਜਹਾ ਠਾਢੋ ਹੈ ਸਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਰੂਪ ਪਾਵਕ ਸੇ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਏ ॥
samar ke beech jahaa tthaadto hai samar singh taahee ko nihaar roop paavak se hvai ge |On seeing Samar Singh, standing in the battlefield, they blazed like fire
ਆਯੁਧ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਜੁਧ ਮੈ ਸਬੈ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨੇ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਕੇ ਬੀਰ ਚਾਰੋ ਓਰ ਹੂੰ ਤੇ ਆ ਖਏ ॥
aayudh sanbhaar leene judh mai sabai prabeene sayaam joo ke beer chaaro or hoon te aa khe |
ਤਾਹੀ ਸਮੇ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਤਾਨ ਕੇ ਕਮਾਨ ਬਾਨ ਚਾਰੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਕੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਲਏ ॥੧੨੯੬॥
taahee same balavaan taan ke kamaan baan chaaro nrip har joo ke maar chhin mai le |1296|Holding their weapons, these skillful warriors of Krishna fell upon Samar Singh from all the four sides, at the same time, that mighty warrior pulled his bow and knocked down all the four warrior (kings) of Krishna in an instant.1296.

ਜਬ ਚਾਰੋ ਈ ਬੀਰ ਹਨੇ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਤਬ ਅਉਰਨ ਸਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਯੌ ਉਚਰੈ ॥
jab chaaro ee beer hane ran mai tab aauran siau har yau ucharai |
ਅਬ ਕੋ ਭਟ ਹੈ ਹਮਰੇ ਦਲ ਮੈ ਇਹ ਸਾਮੁਹੇ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਜੁਧ ਕਰੈ ॥
ab ko bhatt hai hamare dal mai ih saamuhe jaae kai judh karai |When all the four warriors were killed in the war, then Krishna said to the other warriors, “Who is now so powerful to confront the enemy,
ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਸੋ ਧਾਇ ਕੈ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਘਾਇ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਲਰੈ ਨ ਡਰੈ ॥
at hee balavaan so dhaae kai jaae kai ghaae karai su larai na ddarai |
ਸਬ ਸਿਉ ਇਮ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਕੋਊ ਹੈ ਅਰਿ ਕੋ ਬਿਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਕਰੈ ॥੧੨੯੭॥
sab siau im sayaam pukaar kahiyo koaoo hai ar ko bin praan karai |1297|“And falling upon this extremely mighty warrior Samar Sigh and kill him while fighting fearlessly with him?” Krishna said to all of them loudly, “Is there anyone who can make the enemy lifeless?”1297.
ਰਾਛਸ ਥੋ ਇਕ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕੀ ਓਰ ਸੋਊ ਚਲ ਕੈ ਅਰਿ ਓਰ ਪਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
raachhas tho ik sayaam kee or soaoo chal kai ar or padhaariyo |There was one demon in the army of Krishna, who marched forward towards the enemy
ਕ੍ਰੂਰਧੁਜਾ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਜਗ ਸੋ ਤਿਹ ਸੋ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
kraooradhujaa tih naam kahai jag so tih so ih bhaat uchaariyo |His name was Karurdhvaja, he said to Samar Singh on going near him,
ਮਾਰਤ ਹੋ ਰੇ ਸੰਭਾਰੁ ਅਬੈ ਕਹਿ ਯਾ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਧਨੁ ਬਾਨ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
maarat ho re sanbhaar abai keh yaa bateeyaa dhan baan sanbhaariyo |“I am going to kill you, therefore save yourself
ਤਾ ਸਮਰੇਸ ਕੋ ਬਾਨ ਹਨਿਯੋ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਠਉਰ ਮਨੋ ਕਈ ਦਿਵਸ ਕੋ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੨੯੮॥
taa samares ko baan haniyo rahiyo tthaur mano kee divas ko maariyo |1298|” Saying this, he held out his bow and arrows and knocked down Samar Singh, who seemed to have lain dead for several days.1298.

ਕ੍ਰੂਰਧੁਜਾ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਹਨ੍ਯੋ ਸਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੋ ਕੋਪਿ ॥

ਸਕਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੇ ਬਧਨ ਕੋ ਬਹੁਰ ਰਹਿਓ ਪਗੁ ਰੋਪਿ ॥੧੨੯੯॥
sakat singh ke badhan ko bahur rahio pag rop |1299|In this way, Karurdhvaja killed Samar Singh in his fury in the battlefield and now he stabilized himself to kill Shakti Singh.1299.

ਗਿਰਿ ਸੋ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦੇਤ ਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਧੁਜ ਆਹਵ ਮੈ ਕਹੈ ਕਬਿ ਰਾਮ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਬਧ ਕੋ ਚਹਤ ਹੈ ॥
gir so dikhaaee det kraoor dhuj aahav mai kahai kab raam satr badh ko chahat hai |Karurdhvaja seems like a mountain in the battlefield
ਸੁਨਿ ਰੇ ਸਕਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ਜਿਉ ਸਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੈਸੇ ਹਉ ਹਨਿ ਹੋ ਤੂ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਖਹਤ ਹੈ ॥
sun re sakat singh maariyo jiau samar singh taise hau han ho too ham so khahat hai |The poet Ram says that he is ready to kill the enemies and is saying, "O Shakti Singh! The manner in which I have killed Samar Singh, I shall kill you in the same manner, because you are fighting with me
ਐਸੇ ਕਹਿ ਗਦਾ ਗਹਿ ਬੜੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਕੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਲੀਨ ਅਸਿ ਪਾਨਿ ਅਉਰ ਸਸਤ੍ਰਨਿ ਸਹਤ ਹੈ ॥
aaise keh gadaa geh barre brichh ke samaan leen as paan aaur sasatran sahat hai |Saying thus, taking his mace and sword in his hand, he is enduring the blows of the enemy like a tree
ਬਹੁਰੋ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ਦੈਤ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹੈ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਤੋ ਮੈ ਕੋਊ ਘਰੀ ਪਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਹਤ ਹੈ ॥੧੩੦੦॥
bahuro pukaar dait kahiyo hai nihaar nrip to mai koaoo gharee pal jeevan rahat hai |1300|The demon Karurdhvaja is again saying loudly to the king Shakti singh, “O King! the life-force is now within you for a very short time.”1300

ਸਕਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੁਨਿ ਅਰਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਬੋਲਿਯੋ ਕੋਪੁ ਬਢਾਇ ॥

ਜਾਨਤ ਹੋ ਘਨ ਕ੍ਵਾਰ ਕੋ ਗਰਜਤ ਬਰਸਿ ਨ ਆਇ ॥੧੩੦੧॥
jaanat ho ghan kvaar ko garajat baras na aae |1301|On listening to the words of the enemy, Shakti Singh said in anger, “I know that the clouds of the month of Kavar thunder, but do not cause rain.”1301.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਤਿਹ ਬਾਤ ਨਿਸਾਚਰ ਜੀ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਅਤਿ ਕੋਪ ਭਰਿਓ ॥
yau sun kai tih baat nisaachar jee apune at kop bhario |
ਅਸਿ ਲੈ ਤਿਹ ਸਾਮੁਹੇ ਆਇ ਅਰਿਯੋ ਸਕਤੇਸ ਬਲੀ ਨਹੀ ਨੈਕੁ ਡਰਿਓ ॥
as lai tih saamuhe aae ariyo sakates balee nahee naik ddario |Hearing this, the demon got highly infuriated and on this side Shakti Singh, also taking up his sword stood fearlessly and firmly before him
ਬਹੁ ਜੁਧ ਕੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਧਿਆਨ ਭਯੋ ਨਭਿ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਯੋ ਤੇ ਉਚਰਿਓ ॥
bahu judh kai antar dhiaan bhayo nabh mai pragattiyo te uchario |After a great deal of fighting, that demon disappeared and manifesting himself in the sky, said this,
ਅਬ ਤੋਹਿ ਸੰਘਾਰਿਤ ਹੋ ਪਲ ਮੈ ਧਨੁ ਬਾਨ ਸੰਭਾਰ ਕੈ ਪਾਨਿ ਧਰਿਓ ॥੧੩੦੨॥
ab tohi sanghaarit ho pal mai dhan baan sanbhaar kai paan dhario |1302|“O Shakti Singh! now I am going to kill you” saying thus, he held up his bow and arrows.1302.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਬਾਨਨ ਕੀ ਬਰਖਾ ਕਰਤ ਨਭ ਤੇ ਉਤਰਿਯੋ ਕ੍ਰੂਰ ॥
baanan kee barakhaa karat nabh te utariyo kraoor |
ਪੁਨਿ ਆਯੋ ਰਨ ਭੂਮਿ ਮੈ ਅਧਿਕ ਲਰਿਯੋ ਬਰ ਸੂਰ ॥੧੩੦੩॥
pun aayo ran bhoom mai adhik lariyo bar soor |1303|Showering his arrows, Karurdhvaja descended from the sky and entering the battlefield again that mighty warrior fought more terribly.1303.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਬੀਰਨ ਮਾਰ ਕੈ ਦੈਤ ਬਲੀ ਅਪਨੇ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਹਰਖਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
beeran maar kai dait balee apane chit mai at hee harakhio hai |
ਹੀ ਤਜਿ ਸੰਕ ਨਿਸੰਕ ਭਯੋ ਸਕਤੇਸ ਸੰਘਾਰਬੇ ਕੋ ਸਰਖਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
hee taj sank nisank bhayo sakates sanghaarabe ko sarakhio hai |Killing the warriors that powerful demon was extremely pleased and with a firm mind marched forward in order to kill Shakti Singh
ਜਿਉ ਚਪਲਾ ਚਮਕੈ ਦਮਕੈ ਬਰਿ ਚਾਪ ਲੀਯੋ ਕਰ ਮੈ ਕਰਖਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
jiau chapalaa chamakai damakai bar chaap leeyo kar mai karakhio hai |Like the flash of lightning, the bow in his hand became mercurial and its twang was audible
ਮੇਘ ਪਰੇ ਬਰ ਬੂੰਦਨ ਜਿਉ ਸਰ ਜਾਲ ਕਰਾਲਨਿ ਤਿਉ ਬਰਖਿਓ ਹੈ ॥੧੩੦੩॥
megh pare bar boondan jiau sar jaal karaalan tiau barakhio hai |1303|Just as the rain-drops come from the clouds, in the same manner there was shower of arrows.1304.
ਸੋਰਠਾ ॥

ਪਗ ਨ ਟਰਿਓ ਬਰ ਬੀਰ ਸਕਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਧੁਜ ਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਤੇ ॥

ਅਚਲ ਰਹਿਓ ਰਨ ਧੀਰ ਜਿਉ ਅੰਗਦ ਰਾਵਨ ਸਭਾ ॥੧੩੦੫॥
achal rahio ran dheer jiau angad raavan sabhaa |1305|Shakti Singh did not retrace even one step in his fight with Karurdhvaja and the manner in which Angad stood firmly in the court of Ravana, in the same manner, he also remained firm.1305.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਭਾਜਤ ਨਾਹਿਨ ਆਹਵ ਤੇ ਸਕਤੇਸ ਮਹਾ ਬਲਵੰਤ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਓ ॥
bhaajat naahin aahav te sakates mahaa balavant sanbhaario |
ਜਾਲ ਜਿਤੋ ਅਰਿ ਕੇ ਸਰ ਕੋ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਅਗਨਾਯੁਧ ਸਾਥ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
jaal jito ar ke sar ko tab hee aganaayudh saath prajaariyo |The mighty warrior Shakti Singh did not run away from the battlefield and the snare of the arrows created by the enemy was intercepted by him with his fire-shafts
ਪਾਨਿ ਲਯੋ ਧਨੁ ਬਾਨ ਰਿਸਾਇ ਕੈ ਕ੍ਰੂਰਧੁਜਾ ਸਿਰ ਕਾਟਿ ਉਤਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
paan layo dhan baan risaae kai kraooradhujaa sir kaatt utaariyo |In his rage, he took up his bow and arrows and knocked down the head of Karurdhvaja
ਐਸੇ ਹਨ੍ਯੋ ਰਿਪੁ ਜਿਉ ਮਘਵਾ ਬਲ ਕੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਤਰਾਸੁਰ ਦੈਤ ਸੰਘਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੩੦੬॥
aaise hanayo rip jiau maghavaa bal kai britaraasur dait sanghaariyo |1306|He killed the demon like the killing of Vritasura by Indra.1306.
