ਦੁਹਿਤਾ ਸਹਿਤ ਰਾਜ ਹਰ ਲਿਯੋ ॥੧੫॥
duhitaa sahit raaj har liyo |15|And took his kingdom along with his son. 15.
ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਸੁਤਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੀ ਹਰੀ ॥
pratham sutaa raajaa kee haree |First beat the king's daughter.
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨਾਸ ਤਿਹ ਤਨ ਕੀ ਕਰੀ ॥
bahur naas tih tan kee karee |Then destroyed his body.
ਬਹੁਰੌ ਛੀਨਿ ਰਾਜ ਤਿਨ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
bahurau chheen raaj tin leenaa |Then took away his kingdom
ਬਰਿ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਦੇਈ ਕਹ ਕੀਨਾ ॥੧੬॥
bar bilaas deee kah keenaa |16|And married Bilas Dei. 16.

ਸੁਨੁ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕਥਾ ਬਖਾਨੈ ਔਰੈ ॥
sun nrip kathaa bakhaanai aauarai |Rajan! Listen, (I tell another) story
ਜੋ ਭਈ ਏਕ ਰਾਜ ਕੀ ਠੌਰੈ ॥
jo bhee ek raaj kee tthauarai |Which happened in the house of a king.
ਸਹਿਰ ਸੁ ਨਾਰ ਗਾਵ ਹੈ ਜਹਾ ॥
sahir su naar gaav hai jahaa |Where there is a town called 'Nar Gaon',
ਸਬਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਜਾ ਇਕ ਤਹਾ ॥੧॥
sabal singh raajaa ik tahaa |1|There was a king named Sabal Singh. 1.
ਦਲ ਥੰਭਨ ਦੇਈ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਰਿ ॥
dal thanbhan deee tih naar |He had a wife named Dal Thambhan Dei
ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਜਿਹ ਪੜੇ ਸੁਧਾਰਿ ॥
jantr mantr jih parre sudhaar |Who had studied (all) Jantra Mantras well.
ਜੋਗੀ ਇਕ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਤਹ ਆਯੋ ॥
jogee ik sundar tah aayo |There came a handsome jogi
ਜਿਹ ਸਮ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਿਧ ਨ ਬਨਾਯੋ ॥੨॥
jih sam sundar bidh na banaayo |2|(No one else) has been created by Sundar Vidhata. 2.
ਰਾਨੀ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਰੀਝਿ ਤਿਹ ਰਹੀ ॥
raanee nirakh reejh tih rahee |Seeing him, the queen was enthralled.
ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਐਸੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਹੀ ॥
man bach kram aaisee bidh kahee |By doing mind, word and deed, he started saying like this
ਜਿਹ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੁਗਿਯਾ ਕਹ ਪੈਯੈ ॥
jih charitr jugiyaa kah paiyai |That the character with which the Jogi can be attained,
ਉਸੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੌ ਆਜੁ ਬਨੈਯੈ ॥੩॥
ausee charitr kau aaj banaiyai |3|The same character should be played today. 3.
ਬ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਬਿਨਾ ਬਦਰਾ ਗਰਜਾਏ ॥
brisatt binaa badaraa garajaae |With the power of mantras he thundered the alters without rain
ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਸਕਤਿ ਅੰਗਰਾ ਬਰਖਾਏ ॥
mantr sakat angaraa barakhaae |And got rid of the embers.
ਸ੍ਰੋਨ ਅਸਥਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੀ ਪਰ ਪਰੈ ॥
sron asath prithamee par parai |Blood and bones started falling on the earth.
ਨਿਰਖਿ ਲੋਗ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਿਯ ਡਰੈ ॥੪॥
nirakh log sabh hee jiy ddarai |4|Seeing this, all the people were very afraid. 4.
ਭੂਪ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਿਯਨ ਬੋਲਿ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥
bhoop mantriyan bol patthaayo |The king called the ministers
ਬੋਲਿ ਬਿਪ੍ਰ ਪੁਸਤਕਨ ਦਿਖਾਯੋ ॥
bol bipr pusatakan dikhaayo |And told the Brahmins to sell the books.
ਇਨ ਬਿਘਨਨ ਕੋ ਕਹ ਉਪਚਾਰਾ ॥
ein bighanan ko kah upachaaraa |(The king addressed them and said) All of you think together
ਤੁਮ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੫॥
tum sabh hee mil karahu bichaaraa |5|(And say that) what is the remedy for these disturbances. 5.
ਤਬ ਲਗਿ ਬੀਰ ਹਾਕਿ ਤਿਹ ਰਾਨੀ ॥
tab lag beer haak tih raanee |Until then, the Queen called one Bir (out of fifty-two Birs).
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੌ ਕਹਵਾਈ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
eih bidh sau kahavaaee baanee |And (from him) made this kind of sky verse
ਏਕ ਕਾਜ ਉਬਰੇ ਜੋ ਕਰੈ ॥
ek kaaj ubare jo karai |That if (the king) does one thing, then (this crisis) can be avoided,
ਨਾਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਸਹਿਤ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਮਰੈ ॥੬॥
naatar prajaa sahit nrip marai |6|Otherwise, the king will die along with the people. 6.
ਸਭਹਿਨ ਲਖੀ ਗਗਨ ਕੀ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
sabhahin lakhee gagan kee baanee |Everyone considered him to be a sky man
ਬੀਰ ਬਾਕ੍ਰਯ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਨ ਪਛਾਨੀ ॥
beer baakray kinahoon na pachhaanee |And no one recognized it as the words of 'Bir'.
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬੀਰ ਤਿਨ ਐਸ ਉਚਾਰੋ ॥
bahur beer tin aais uchaaro |Then Bir spoke to them thus.
ਸੁ ਮੈ ਕਹਤ ਹੌ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਪ੍ਯਾਰੋ ॥੭॥
su mai kahat hau sunahu payaaro |7|That I say, O dear! Listen to him.
ਜੌ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਪਨੀ ਲੈ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
jau raajaa apanee lai naaree |If this king his queen
ਜੁਗਿਯਨ ਦੈ ਧਨ ਸਹਿਤ ਸੁਧਾਰੀ ॥
jugiyan dai dhan sahit sudhaaree |Give it to the Jogi along with the money,
ਤਬ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਸਹਿਤ ਨਹਿ ਮਰੈ ॥
tab ih prajaa sahit neh marai |So it will not die with the people
ਅਬਿਚਲ ਰਾਜ ਪ੍ਰਿਥੀ ਪਰ ਕਰੈ ॥੮॥
abichal raaj prithee par karai |8|And will reign firmly on the earth. 8.
ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਲੋਕ ਸੁਨਿ ਬਚ ਅਕੁਲਾਏ ॥
prajaa lok sun bach akulaae |The people of Praja were very disturbed after hearing this.
ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਤ੍ਯੋਂ ਤਹਾ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਹਿ ਲੈ ਆਏ ॥
jayon tayon tahaa nripeh lai aae |Like how the king was brought there.
ਜੁਗਿਯਹਿ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਰਬੁ ਜੁਤ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
jugiyeh dehi darab jut naaree |(The king) handed over the rich woman to Jogi.
ਭੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਨ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥੯॥
bhed abhed kee gat na bichaaree |9|But he did not recognize the speed of separation. 9.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਸਹਿਤ ਰਾਜਾ ਛਲਾ ਗਈ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਰਿ ॥
prajaa sahit raajaa chhalaa gee mitr ke naar |Having deceived the king along with the subjects (the queen) went with Mitra.
ਭੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਭਲਾ ਬੁਰਾ ਸਕਾ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ॥੧੦॥
bhed abhed bhalaa buraa sakaa na koee bichaar |10|No one could think of difference or good or bad. 10.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਤੀਨ ਸੌ ਛਪਨ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੩੫੬॥੬੫੪੧॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥
