ਹਮ ਕੋ ਸ੍ਰਾਪ ਏਕ ਰਿਖ ਦਿਯਾ ॥
ham ko sraap ek rikh diyaa |We were cursed by a sage,
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਜਨਮ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਹ੍ਯਾਂ ਲਿਯਾ ॥੭॥
taa te janam duhoon hayaan liyaa |7|Because of which (we) came here and took birth. 7.
ਪੁਨਿ ਹਮ ਸੌ ਰਿਖਿ ਐਸ ਉਚਾਰਾ ॥
pun ham sau rikh aais uchaaraa |Then Rikhi told us thus,
ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹੈ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਉਧਾਰ ਤੁਹਾਰਾ ॥
hvai hai bahur udhaar tuhaaraa |Both of you will have a loan again.
ਮਾਤ ਲੋਕ ਬਹੁ ਬਰਿਸ ਬਿਤੈਹੌ ॥
maat lok bahu baris bitaihau |(You) will spend many years in Mat Lok
ਬਹੁਰੌ ਦੋਊ ਸ੍ਵਰਗ ਮਹਿ ਐਹੌ ॥੮॥
bahurau doaoo svarag meh aaihau |8|And then both will come to heaven.8.
ਹਮ ਤੁਮਰੋ ਘਰ ਬਸ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
ham tumaro ghar bas sukh paayo |have attained (much) happiness by living in your house,
ਅਬ ਰਿਖਿ ਸ੍ਰਾਪ ਅਵਧਿ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਆਯੋ ॥
ab rikh sraap avadh hvai aayo |Now the period of Rikhi's curse has come to an end.
ਏ ਬਚ ਭਾਖਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਹਿ ਘਰ ਆਈ ॥
e bach bhaakh nripeh ghar aaee |After saying this, she came to the palace
ਸਾਹ ਪਰੀ ਜੁਤ ਲਿਯਾ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥੯॥
saah paree jut liyaa bulaaee |9|And called the Shah along with Pari. 9.

ਗਈ ਇਹ ਗਈ ਧੁੰਨਿ ਤੁਮ ਕਰਿਯਹੁ ॥
gee ih gee dhun tum kariyahu |(The queen explained well to the fairy that) to make the tune (sound) of 'Gai Gayi',
ਭੂਪ ਸੁਨਤ ਨਭ ਬਿਖੈ ਉਚਰਿਯਹੁ ॥
bhoop sunat nabh bikhai uchariyahu |Going to the sky, so that the king heard.
ਜਬ ਤਿਨ ਬਾਤ ਭੇਦ ਕੀ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
jab tin baat bhed kee jaanee |When the fairy understood the secret,
ਭਲਾ ਕਹੌਗੀ ਪਰੀ ਬਖਾਨੀ ॥੧੦॥
bhalaa kahauagee paree bakhaanee |10|So the fairy said that I will say (the same) well. 10.
ਸਾਹ ਸਹਿਤ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
saah sahit bhoopat peh jaae |The queen along with Shah went to the king and said,
ਕਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਹੈ ਰਾਨੀ ਰਾਇ ॥
kahee jaat hai raanee raae |Rajan! Rani is leaving.
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਭਾਖਿ ਲੋਪ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਈ ॥
eih bidh bhaakh lop hvai gee |Having said this, (the queen) disappeared
ਗਈ ਗਈ ਬਾਨੀ ਨਭ ਭਈ ॥੧੧॥
gee gee baanee nabh bhee |11|And 'Gai Gayi' became the sky of heaven. 11.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥

ਗਈ ਇਹ ਗਈ ਚਿਰ ਲੌ ਨਭ ਬਾਨੀ ਭਈ ॥
gee ih gee chir lau nabh baanee bhee |Aakash Bani of 'Gone Gay' was sung for a long time
ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਸਹਿਤ ਤਿਨ ਭੂਪ ਯਹੈ ਜਿਯ ਮੈ ਠਈ ॥
prajaa sahit tin bhoop yahai jiy mai tthee |And the king along with the people understood this in his mind
ਰਾਨੀ ਸੁਰ ਪੁਰ ਗਈ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਕੋ ਸਾਥ ਲੈ ॥
raanee sur pur gee bhraat ko saath lai |That the queen has gone to heaven with her brother.
ਹੋ ਮੂਰਖ ਭੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਨ ਸਕਾ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ਕੈ ॥੧੨॥
ho moorakh bhed abhed na sakaa bichaar kai |12|(No one) could think of the foolish Bhed Abhed. 12.

ਮਿਲਿ ਸਭਹਿਨ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰੀ ॥
mil sabhahin ih bhaat uchaaree |All together said thus,
ਗਈ ਸੁਰਗ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਨਾਰਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥
gee surag nrip naar tumaaree |O Rajan! Your wife has gone to heaven.
ਤੁਮ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਨਹਿ ਕਰੋ ॥
tum chintaa chit mai neh karo |Do not worry in your mind.
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੁਘਰ ਅਵਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਬਰੋ ॥੧੩॥
sundar sughar avar triy baro |13|Get married to another beautiful beautiful woman. 13.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਤੀਨ ਸੌ ਇਕਹਤਰਿ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੩੭੧॥੬੭੩੧॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥

ਸੁਨੁ ਰਾਜਾ ਇਕ ਅਵਰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗਾ ॥
sun raajaa ik avar prasangaa |O Rajan! Listen to another context (character).
ਜਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਿਯਾ ਨਾਰਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੰਗਾ ॥
jih bidh kiyaa naar nrip sangaa |As a woman did to a king.
ਜਲਜ ਸੈਨ ਇਕ ਭੂਮ ਭਨਿਜੈ ॥
jalaj sain ik bhoom bhanijai |A king named Jalaj Sen used to listen.
ਸੁਛਬਿ ਮਤੀ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਰਿ ਕਹਿਜੈ ॥੧॥
suchhab matee tih naar kahijai |1|The name of his queen was called Suchbi Mati. 1.
ਸੁਛਬਿਵਤੀ ਤਿਹ ਨਗਰ ਕਹੀਜਤ ॥
suchhabivatee tih nagar kaheejat |The name of his town was called Suchbivati.
ਅਮਰ ਪੁਰੀ ਪਟਤਰ ਤਿਹ ਦੀਜਤ ॥
amar puree pattatar tih deejat |He was likened to Amar Puri.
ਰਾਜਾ ਕੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਹੁਤੀ ਨ ਪ੍ਯਾਰੀ ॥
raajaa ko triy hutee na payaaree |The king was not in love with the queen.
ਯਾ ਤੇ ਰਾਨੀ ਰਹਤ ਦੁਖਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
yaa te raanee rahat dukhaaree |2|Due to which Rani used to be sad. 2.
ਰਾਨੀ ਰੂਪ ਬੈਦ ਕੋ ਠਾਨਿ ॥
raanee roop baid ko tthaan |Taking the form of Rani Ved
ਰਾਜਾ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਕਿਯਾ ਪਯਾਨ ॥
raajaa ke ghar kiyaa payaan |She went to the king's house. (Going) said,
ਕਹਾ ਅਸਾਧ ਭਯਾ ਹੈ ਤੋਹਿ ॥
kahaa asaadh bhayaa hai tohi |You have got asadha (disease).
ਬੋਲਿ ਚਕਿਤਸਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਮੋਹਿ ॥੩॥
bol chakitasaa keejai mohi |3|Call me and get (your) treatment. 3.
ਧਾਵਤ ਤੁਮੈ ਪਸੀਨੋ ਆਵਤ ॥
dhaavat tumai paseeno aavat |You sweat from walking fast
ਰਵਿ ਦੇਖਤ ਦ੍ਰਿਗ ਧੁੰਧ ਜਨਾਵਤ ॥
rav dekhat drig dhundh janaavat |And looking at the sun, the eyes feel dim.
ਰਾਜਾ ਬਾਤ ਸਤ੍ਯ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੀ ॥
raajaa baat satay kar maanee |The king accepted his words as true
ਮੂੜ ਭੇਦ ਕੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੪॥
moorr bhed kee kriyaa na jaanee |4|And the fool did not understand the act of separation. 4.
ਮੂਰਖ ਭੂਪ ਭੇਦ ਨਹਿ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
moorakh bhoop bhed neh paayo |The foolish king did not understand the secret.
ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਤੇ ਬੋਲਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਕਰਾਯੋ ॥
triy te bol upaae karaayo |(He became a physician) called the woman and treated her.
ਤਿਨ ਬਿਖ ਡਾਰਿ ਔਖਧੀ ਬੀਚਾ ॥
tin bikh ddaar aauakhadhee beechaa |She (the woman) put poison in the medicine
ਛਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਕੀ ਮੀਚਾ ॥੫॥
chhin meh karee bhoop kee meechaa |5|And killed the king in the blink of an eye. 5.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਤੀਨ ਸੌ ਬਹਤਰ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੩੭੨॥੬੭੩੬॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥

ਸਹਿਰ ਦੌਲਤਾਬਾਦ ਬਸਤ ਜਹ ॥
sahir daualataabaad basat jah |Where Daulatabad city resides,
ਬਿਕਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਇਕ ਭੂਪ ਹੁਤੋ ਤਹ ॥
bikatt singh ik bhoop huto tah |There used to be a king named Bikat Singh.
ਭਾਨ ਮੰਜਰੀ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਦਾਰਾ ॥
bhaan manjaree taa kee daaraa |Bhan Manjari was his wife,
ਜਿਹ ਸਮ ਕਰੀ ਨ ਪੁਨਿ ਕਰਤਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
jih sam karee na pun karataaraa |1|The like of which God did not create again. 1.
ਭੀਮ ਸੈਨ ਇਕ ਤਹ ਥੋ ਸਾਹਾ ॥
bheem sain ik tah tho saahaa |There was a king named Bhima Sen. (seemed to be)
ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਯੋ ਜਨੁ ਦੂਸਰ ਮਾਹਾ ॥
pragatt bhayo jan doosar maahaa |As if a second moon had been born.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਫਤਾਬ ਦੇਇ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
sree afataab dee tih naaree |His wife's name was Aftab Dei.
ਕਨਕ ਅਵਟਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਜਨੁ ਢਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
kanak avatt saache jan dtaaree |2|(It looked like this) as if the gold had been melted and molded into a mold. 2.
ਤਿਨ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਇਹ ਬਾਤ ਬਖਾਨੀ ॥
tin man mai ih baat bakhaanee |She (the woman) thought in her mind
ਕਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੈ ਹੂਜਿਯੈ ਭਵਾਨੀ ॥
kih bidh kai hoojiyai bhavaanee |How can (I myself) become Bhavani.
ਸੋਇ ਰਹੀ ਸਭ ਜਗਹਿ ਦਿਖਾਇ ॥
soe rahee sabh jageh dikhaae |When everyone else seemed awake, she was asleep.
ਚਮਕਿ ਉਠੀ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਕਹ ਪਾਇ ॥੩॥
chamak utthee supane kah paae |3|(But at once) woke up and stood up, (as if) having seen a dream. 3.
ਕਹਾ ਦਰਸ ਮੁਹਿ ਦਿਯਾ ਭਵਾਨੀ ॥
kahaa daras muhi diyaa bhavaanee |(He) said that Bhavani has given me darshan
ਸਭਹਿਨ ਸੌ ਭਾਖੀ ਇਮਿ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
sabhahin sau bhaakhee im baanee |Told everyone like this.
ਜਿਹ ਬਰਦਾਨ ਦੇਉ ਤਿਹ ਹੋਈ ॥
jih baradaan deo tih hoee |(Now) the boon that (I) will give will be the same
ਯਾ ਮਹਿ ਪਰੈ ਫੇਰਿ ਨਹਿ ਕੋਈ ॥੪॥
yaa meh parai fer neh koee |4|And there will be no exchange in it. 4.
ਲੋਗ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਗ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
log bachan sun kar pag laage |Hearing (his) words, the people fell on their feet
ਬਰੁ ਮਾਗਨ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਅਨੁਰਾਗੇ ॥
bar maagan taa te anuraage |And started asking for blessings with love.
ਹ੍ਵੈ ਬੈਠੀ ਸਭਹਿਨ ਕੀ ਮਾਈ ॥
hvai baitthee sabhahin kee maaee |She became the 'Mai' (Mother Goddess) of all.
