ਛੀਨ ਲਯੋ ਅਲਕੇਸ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥
chheen layo alakes bhanddaaraa |They snatched the treasure of Kuber
ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਕੇ ਜੀਤਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਾਰਾ ॥
des des ke jeet nripaaraa |And conquered the kings of various countries.
ਜਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਕਰ ਦੈਤ ਪਠਾਏ ॥
jahaa tahaa kar dait patthaae |Wherever they sent their forces
ਦੇਸ ਬਿਦੇਸ ਜੀਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਆਏ ॥੭॥੪੫॥
des bides jeete fir aae |7|45|They returned after conquering many countries.7.45.

ਦੇਵ ਸਬੈ ਤ੍ਰਾਸਤਿ ਭਏ ਮਨ ਮੋ ਕੀਯੋ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
dev sabai traasat bhe man mo keeyo bichaar |All the gods were filled with fear and thought in their mind
ਸਰਨ ਭਵਾਨੀ ਕੀ ਸਬੈ ਭਾਜਿ ਪਰੇ ਨਿਰਧਾਰ ॥੮॥੪੬॥
saran bhavaanee kee sabai bhaaj pare niradhaar |8|46|Being helpless, they all ran to come under the refuge of the goddess.8.46.

naraaj chhand |NARAAJ STANZA
ਸੁ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਦੇਵ ਭਾਜੀਅੰ ॥
su traas dev bhaajeean |The gods were running away in fear.
ਬਸੇਖ ਲਾਜ ਲਾਜੀਅੰ ॥
basekh laaj laajeean |The gods ran in great fear and felt ashamed with particular self-abasment.
ਬਿਸਿਖ ਕਾਰਮੰ ਕਸੇ ॥
bisikh kaaraman kase |Poisoned arrows ('Bishikh') and bows ('Karam') are poisoned
ਸੁ ਦੇਵਿ ਲੋਕ ਮੋ ਬਸੇ ॥੯॥੪੭॥
su dev lok mo base |9|47|They had fitted poisonous shafts in their bows and in this way they went ot reside in the city of goddess.9.47.
ਤਬੈ ਪ੍ਰਕੋਪ ਦੇਬਿ ਹੁਐ ॥
tabai prakop deb huaai |Then the goddess became very angry
ਚਲੀ ਸੁ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ॥
chalee su sasatr asatr lai |Then the goddess was filled with great rage and marched towards the battlefield with her weapons and arms.
ਸੁ ਮੁਦ ਪਾਨਿ ਪਾਨ ਕੈ ॥
su mud paan paan kai |By drinking madira ('water') with joy
ਗਜੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਪਾਨਿ ਲੈ ॥੧੦॥੪੮॥
gajee kripaan paan lai |10|48|She drank the nectar in ther delight and roared wihile taking the sword in her hand.10.48.

ਸੁਨੀ ਦੇਵ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
sunee dev baanee |Hearing the words of the gods
ਚੜੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਨੀ ॥
charree singh raanee |Listening to the talk of the gods, the queen (goddess) munted the lion.
ਸੁਭੰ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
subhan sasatr dhaare |(He by all means) assumed auspicious armor
ਸਭੇ ਪਾਪ ਟਾਰੇ ॥੧੧॥੪੯॥
sabhe paap ttaare |11|49|She had worn all her auspicious weapons and she is the one who effaces all the sins.11.49.
ਕਰੋ ਨਦ ਨਾਦੰ ॥
karo nad naadan |(By the command of the goddess) made noise from the big cities
ਮਹਾ ਮਦ ਮਾਦੰ ॥
mahaa mad maadan |The goddess commanded that highly inebriating trumpets besounded.
ਭਯੋ ਸੰਖ ਸੋਰੰ ॥
bhayo sankh soran |(At that time) there was a noise of numbers
ਸੁਣਿਯੋ ਚਾਰ ਓਰੰ ॥੧੨॥੫੦॥
suniyo chaar oran |12|50|Then the conches created great noise, which was heard. In all the four directions.12.50.
ਉਤੇ ਦੈਤ ਧਾਏ ॥
aute dait dhaae |Taking a large army from there
ਬਡੀ ਸੈਨ ਲਿਆਏ ॥
baddee sain liaae |The demons marched forward and brought great forces.
ਮੁਖੰ ਰਕਤ ਨੈਣੰ ॥
mukhan rakat nainan |He with red eyes
ਬਕੇ ਬੰਕ ਬੈਣੰ ॥੧੩॥੫੧॥
bake bank bainan |13|51|Their faces and eyes were red like blood and they shouted prickig words.13.51.
ਚਵੰ ਚਾਰ ਢੂਕੇ ॥
chavan chaar dtooke |(Armies) approached from all four sides
ਮੁਖੰ ਮਾਰੁ ਕੂਕੇ ॥
mukhan maar kooke |Four types of forces rushed and shouted from their mouths: “Kill, Kill”.
ਲਏ ਬਾਣ ਪਾਣੰ ॥
le baan paanan |They have arrows in hand,
ਸੁ ਕਾਤੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣੰ ॥੧੪॥੫੨॥
su kaatee kripaanan |14|52|They took up in their hands the arrows, daggers and swords.14.52.
ਮੰਡੇ ਮਧ ਜੰਗੰ ॥
mandde madh jangan |(They) engaged in war,
ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੰ ਖਤੰਗੰ ॥
prahaaran khatangan |They are all active in warfare and shoot arrows.
ਕਰਉਤੀ ਕਟਾਰੰ ॥
krautee kattaaran |Swords ('Karuti') spears etc.
ਉਠੀ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਝਾਰੰ ॥੧੫॥੫੩॥
autthee sasatr jhaaran |15|53|The weapons like swods and daggers glisten.15.53.
ਮਹਾ ਬੀਰ ਢਾਏ ॥
mahaa beer dtaae |The mighty ones advanced.
ਸਰੋਘੰ ਚਲਾਏ ॥
saroghan chalaae |The great heroes rushed forward and many on them shot arrows.
ਕਰੈ ਬਾਰਿ ਬੈਰੀ ॥
karai baar bairee |They used to attack the enemy (with such intensity).
ਫਿਰੇ ਜ੍ਯੋ ਗੰਗੈਰੀ ॥੧੬॥੫੪॥
fire jayo gangairee |16|54|They strike blows on the enemy with much swiftness like the watter-bird.16.54.
ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang prayaat chhand |BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA
ਉਧਿਤ ਸਟਾਯੰ ਉਤੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
audhit sattaayan utai singh dhaayo |With elevated tail and full of rage the lion ran forward.
ਇਤੇ ਸੰਖ ਲੈ ਹਾਥਿ ਦੇਵੀ ਬਜਾਯੋ ॥
eite sankh lai haath devee bajaayo |There the goddess holding the conch in her hand, blew it.
ਪੁਰੀ ਚਉਦਹੂੰਯੰ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਨਾਦ ਪੂਰੰ ॥
puree chaudahoonyan rahiyo naad pooran |Its sound reverberated in all the fourteen regions.
ਚਮਕਿਯੋ ਮੁਖੰ ਜੁਧ ਕੇ ਮਧਿ ਨੂਰੰ ॥੧੭॥੫੫॥
chamakiyo mukhan judh ke madh nooran |17|55|The face of the goddess was filled with brightness in the battlefield.17.55.
ਤਬੈ ਧੂਮ੍ਰ ਨੈਣੰ ਮਚਿਯੋ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
tabai dhoomr nainan machiyo sasatr dhaaree |Then Dhumar Nain, the weapon-wielder, was greatly excited.
ਲਏ ਸੰਗ ਜੋਧਾ ਬਡੇ ਬੀਰ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
le sang jodhaa badde beer bhaaree |He took many brave warriors with him.
