ਅਪਨੇ ਜੋਰ ਅੰਗ ਸੋ ਅੰਗਾ ॥
apane jor ang so angaa |I sleep limb by limb.
ਭਲੀ ਭਲੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰਿਨ ਸਭ ਭਾਖੀ ॥
bhalee bhalee isatrin sabh bhaakhee |All the maids said (hearing the queen's words) 'Bhali Bhali'
ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਤ੍ਯੋਂ ਨਾਰਿ ਨਾਹ ਤੇ ਰਾਖੀ ॥੩੩॥
jayon tayon naar naah te raakhee |33|And like how he saved the woman (from the man) from the king. 33.
ਦਿਨ ਦੇਖਤ ਰਾਨੀ ਤਿਹ ਸੰਗਾ ॥
din dekhat raanee tih sangaa |Seeing all in the Queen's day
ਸੋਵਤ ਜੋਰ ਅੰਗ ਸੋ ਅੰਗਾ ॥
sovat jor ang so angaa |She slept with him hand to hand.
ਮੂਰਖ ਰਾਵ ਭੇਦ ਨਹਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
moorakh raav bhed neh paavai |The foolish king was not understanding the secret
ਕੋਰੋ ਅਪਨੋ ਮੂੰਡ ਮੁਡਾਵੈ ॥੩੪॥
koro apano moondd muddaavai |34|And Suka was shaving his head. 34.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਦੋਇ ਸੌ ਨਬੇ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੨੯੦॥੫੫੩੬॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥

ਪਛਿਮਾਵਤੀ ਨਗਰ ਇਕ ਸੋਹੈ ॥
pachhimaavatee nagar ik sohai |There was a town called Pachimavati.
ਪਸਚਿਮ ਸੈਨ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਤਹ ਕੋ ਹੈ ॥
pasachim sain nripat tah ko hai |The king there was Paschim San.
ਪਸਚਿਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਨੀ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਘਰ ॥
pasachim de raanee taa ke ghar |In his house there was a queen named Paschim (Dei).
ਰਹਤ ਪੰਡਿਤਾ ਸਕਲ ਲੋਭਿ ਕਰਿ ॥੧॥
rahat pandditaa sakal lobh kar |1|(Seeing whom) even the Pandits used to get jealous. 1.
ਅਧਿਕ ਰੂਪ ਰਾਨੀ ਕੋ ਰਹੈ ॥
adhik roop raanee ko rahai |The queen was very beautiful.
ਜਗ ਤਿਹ ਦੁਤਿਯ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਕਹੈ ॥
jag tih dutiy chandramaa kahai |The world used to call him the second moon.
ਤਾ ਪਰ ਰੀਝਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਕੀ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
taa par reejh nripat kee bhaaree |The king was very envious of him.
ਜਾਨਤ ਊਚ ਨੀਚਿ ਪਨਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
jaanat aooch neech panihaaree |2|Even the rich, the poor and the downtrodden knew (this thing). 2.
ਤਹ ਹੁਤੋ ਰਾਇ ਦਿਲਵਾਲੀ ॥
tah huto raae dilavaalee |There used to be a Dilwali Rai (person named).
ਜਾਨਕ ਦੂਸਰਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਮਾਲੀ ॥
jaanak doosaraas hai maalee |(Which looked) as if it were a second sun ('Anshumali').
ਸੋ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਬਖਾਨੀ ॥
so peh jaat na prabhaa bakhaanee |His radiance cannot be described (by me).
ਉਰਝਿ ਰਹੀ ਦੁਤਿ ਹੇਰਤ ਰਾਨੀ ॥੩॥
aurajh rahee dut herat raanee |3|Seeing (her) beauty, the queen was enchanted. 3.
ਤਾ ਸੌ ਅਧਿਕ ਸਨੇਹ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥
taa sau adhik saneh badtaayo |She (the queen) became very fond of him
ਏਕ ਦਿਵਸ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਬੋਲਿ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥
ek divas grih bol patthaayo |And called (him) home one day.
ਸੋ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਸੁਨਿ ਬਚ ਪਹ ਗਯੋ ॥
so tab hee sun bach pah gayo |He went (to him) after hearing the words
ਭੇਟਤ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਕਹ ਭਯੋ ॥੪॥
bhettat raaj kuar kah bhayo |4|And went and met the queen. 4.
ਪੋਸਤ ਭਾਗ ਅਫੀਮ ਮੰਗਾਈ ॥
posat bhaag afeem mangaaee |(The queen) asked for poppy seeds, hemp and opium
ਏਕ ਸੇਜ ਪਰ ਬੈਠਿ ਚੜਾਈ ॥
ek sej par baitth charraaee |And sat on the same sage and received it.
ਜਬ ਮਦ ਸੋ ਮਤਵਾਰੇ ਭਏ ॥
jab mad so matavaare bhe |When (both) became intoxicated,
ਤਬ ਹੀ ਸੋਕ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਸਭ ਗਏ ॥੫॥
tab hee sok bisar sabh ge |5|Only then all the sorrows were removed. 5.
ਏਕ ਸੇਜ ਪਰ ਬੈਠਿ ਕਲੋਲਹਿ ॥
ek sej par baitth kaloleh |Sitting on the same sedge, they started to do it
ਰਸ ਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਰਸਿਕ ਮਿਲਿ ਬੋਲਹਿ ॥
ras kee kathaa rasik mil boleh |And (both) Rasik started talking about Rasa.
ਚੁੰਬਨ ਔਰ ਅਲਿੰਗਨ ਕਰਹੀ ॥
chunban aauar alingan karahee |(They) used to kiss and hug
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਕੇ ਭੋਗਨ ਭਰਹੀ ॥੬॥
bhaat bhaat ke bhogan bharahee |6|And used to indulge in abundance of various things. 6.
ਰਾਨੀ ਰਮਤ ਅਧਿਕ ਉਰਝਾਈ ॥
raanee ramat adhik urajhaaee |The Rani became very enamored while romping (with him).
ਭੋਗ ਗਏ ਦਿਲਵਾਲੀ ਰਾਈ ॥
bhog ge dilavaalee raaee |Dilwali went away after enjoying the opinion.
ਚਿਤ ਅਪਨੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਿਚਾਰੋ ॥
chit apanai ih bhaat bichaaro |(The queen) thought thus in her mind
ਮੈ ਯਾਹੀ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਸਿਧਾਰੋ ॥੭॥
mai yaahee ke sang sidhaaro |7|That I should also go with it. 7.
ਰਾਜ ਪਾਟ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਿਹ ਕਾਜਾ ॥
raaj paatt mere kih kaajaa |(This) Raj-pat of what work of mine.
ਮੋ ਕਹ ਨਹੀ ਸੁਹਾਵਤ ਰਾਜਾ ॥
mo kah nahee suhaavat raajaa |I don't like this king either.
ਮੈ ਸਾਜਨ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ ਸਿਧੈਹੌ ॥
mai saajan ke saath sidhaihau |I will go with the gentleman
ਭਲੀ ਬੁਰੀ ਸਿਰ ਮਾਝ ਸਹੈਹੌ ॥੮॥
bhalee buree sir maajh sahaihau |8|And bad and good will bear on their heads. 8.
ਜਹਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਰਤ ਬਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
jahaa singh maarat ban maahee |Where lions used to kill in buns,
ਸੁਨਾ ਦੋਹਰਾ ਏਕ ਤਹਾ ਹੀ ॥
sunaa doharaa ek tahaa hee |There used to be a temple.
ਚੜਿ ਝੰਪਾਨ ਤਿਹ ਠੌਰ ਸਿਧਾਈ ॥
charr jhanpaan tih tthauar sidhaaee |(The queen) got into the palanquin and went there
ਮਿਤ੍ਰਹਿ ਤਹੀ ਸਹੇਟ ਬਤਾਈ ॥੯॥
mitreh tahee sahett bataaee |9|And Mitra also told the meeting place ('Shet') 9.
ਮਹਾ ਗਹਿਰ ਬਨ ਮੈ ਜਬ ਗਈ ॥
mahaa gahir ban mai jab gee |When it went into a thick bun
ਲਘੁ ਇਛਾ ਕਹ ਉਤਰਤ ਭਈ ॥
lagh ichhaa kah utarat bhee |So she got down (from the palanquin) on the pretext of urinating.
ਤਹ ਤੇ ਗਈ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਾ ॥
tah te gee mitr ke sangaa |From there she went with a friend
