ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਸੋ ਮਾਈ ਕਹਾ ਕਹੀਯੈ ਇਹ ਸਾਥ ਕਰੇ ਹਿਤਵਾ ਬਰ ਜੋਰੀ ॥
sayaam so maaee kahaa kaheeyai ih saath kare hitavaa bar joree |“O my mother, what should I say? Krishna is forcibly exhibiting his love for her and is sending us to her
ਭੇਜਤ ਹੈ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਪੈ ਇਹ ਸੀ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਪਹਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਥੋਰੀ ॥੭੨੧॥
bhejat hai ham ko ih pai ih see tih ke peh gvaaran thoree |721|Is Krishna short of gopis like her?721.
ਭੇਜਤ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਪੈ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਰੂਪ ਕੋ ਮਾਨ ਕਰੈ ॥
bhejat hai ih pai ham ko ih gvaaran roop ko maan karai |“He sends us to her and she is egoistic about her beauty
ਇਹ ਜਾਨਤ ਵੈ ਘਟ ਹੈ ਹਮ ਤੇ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਹਠ ਬਾਧਿ ਰਹੀ ਨ ਟਰੈ ॥
eih jaanat vai ghatt hai ham te tih te hatth baadh rahee na ttarai |She also knows that all other gopis do not equal her in beauty, therefore she is persistent in her attitude”
ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਪਿਖੋ ਇਹ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕੇ ਕੋਪ ਤੇ ਪੈ ਨ ਡਰੈ ॥
kab sayaam pikho ih gvaaran kee mat sayaam ke kop te pai na ddarai |Poet Shyam (says) Behold the intelligence of this gopi who is not at all afraid of Krishna's wrath.
ਤਿਹ ਸੋ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ਕਹਾ ਕਹੀਯੈ ਤਿਹ ਲ੍ਯਾਵਹੁ ਯੋ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਉਚਰੈ ॥੭੨੨॥
tih so bal jaau kahaa kaheeyai tih layaavahu yo mukh te ucharai |722|The poet Shyam says that this gopi (Radha) does not fear even slightly from Krishna, he is a sacrifice on her boldness when she says that Krishna be brought before her.722.
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਰੈ ਸਖੀ ਅਉਰ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਤਬੈ ਇਹ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਭੂਲ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥
sayaam karai sakhee aaur so preet tabai ih gvaaran bhool pachhaanai |“Krishna loves someone else, this gopi has no comprehension about it
ਵਾ ਕੇ ਕੀਏ ਬਿਨੁ ਰੀ ਸਜਨੀ ਸੁ ਰਹੀ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਨਹੀ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
vaa ke kee bin ree sajanee su rahee keh kai su kahiyo nahee maanai |Without any words from him, she continues to say this and is not submitting to his wishes
ਯਾ ਕੋ ਬਿਸਾਰ ਡਰੈ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਮਾਨਹਿ ਕੋ ਫਲੁ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
yaa ko bisaar ddarai man te tab hee ih maaneh ko fal jaanai |“When Krishna will forget her, then she will know the reward of such persistence and in the end, feeling embarrassed, she will conciliate him
ਅੰਤ ਖਿਸਾਇ ਘਨੀ ਅਕੁਲਾਇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਮਾਨੈ ਤੁ ਮਾਨੈ ॥੭੨੩॥
ant khisaae ghanee akulaae kahiyo tab hee ih maanai tu maanai |723|At that time, nothing can be said, whether he will accede to her request or not.”723.
ਯੋ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਤਿਹ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਕੋ ਇਮ ਉਤਰ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
yo sun kai brikhabhaan sutaa tih gvaaran ko im utar deeno |Hearing this, Radha answered the gopi (angel) thus
ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਸੰਗ ਤਉ ਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਅਸ ਮਾਨ ਸੁ ਕੀਨੋ ॥
preet karee har chandrabhagaa sang tau ham hoon as maan su keeno |Hearing this, Radha replied to her, “Krishna is absorbed in love with Chandarbhaga, therefore, I have shown my disrespect for him
ਤਉ ਸਜਨੀ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਰੂਠ ਰਹੀ ਅਤਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਬਢਿਯੋ ਹਮਰੇ ਜਬ ਜੀ ਨੋ ॥
tau sajanee kahiyo rootth rahee at krodh badtiyo hamare jab jee no |“On this, you have said so much, therefore my anger increased
ਤੇਰੇ ਕਹੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਆਗੇ ਹੂੰ ਮੋ ਹੂ ਸੋ ਨੇਹੁ ਬਿਦਾ ਕਰ ਦੀਨੋ ॥੭੨੪॥
tere kahe bin ree har aage hoon mo hoo so nehu bidaa kar deeno |724|On your request, I loved Krishna an now he has abandoned his love with me.”724.
ਯੋ ਕਹਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਸੋ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਐਸੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
yo keh gvaaran so bateeyaa kab sayaam kahai fir aaise kahiyo hai |Poet Shyam says, saying such things to Gopi, then said,
ਜਾਹਿ ਰੀ ਕਾਹੇ ਕੋ ਬੈਠੀ ਹੈ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਤੇਰੋ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਮੈ ਸਹਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
jaeh ree kaahe ko baitthee hai gvaaran tero kahiyo at hee mai sahiyo hai |Saying thus to the gopi, Radha added, “O gopi! you may go, I have endured your words very much
ਬਾਤ ਕਹੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਰਸ ਕੀ ਤੁਹਿ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਨ ਸੋ ਸਖੀ ਚਿਤ ਚਹਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
baat kahee at hee ras kee tuhi taa ko na so sakhee chit chahiyo hai |“You have talked many things about the love-passion and pleasure, which I did not like in my mind
ਤਾਹੀ ਤੇ ਹਉ ਨ ਚਲੋ ਸਜਨੀ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਰਸ ਕਉਨ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥੭੨੫॥
taahee te hau na chalo sajanee ham so har so ras kaun rahiyo hai |725|O friend! I therefore, shall not go to Krishna, because there is no love left now between me and Krishna.”725.
ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਉਤਰ ਦੇਤ ਭਈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਹਿਤ ਕੇਰੋ ॥
yau sun utar det bhee kab sayaam kahai har ke hit kero |The poet Shyam says, after hearing this (talk), he replied for the sake of Sri Krishna.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੇ ਭੇਜੇ ਤੇ ਯਾ ਪਹਿ ਆਇ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਮਨਾਵਨ ਕੋ ਅਤਿ ਝੇਰੋ ॥
kaanrah ke bheje te yaa peh aae kai kai kai manaavan ko at jhero |Hearing this reply of Radha, the gopi said, talking in the interest of Krishna, “It is a very great botheration to come repeatedly and persuade her at the bidding of Krishna
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਚਕੋਰ ਮਨੋ ਤ੍ਰਨ ਜੋ ਸੁਨ ਰੀ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹੈ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੋ ॥
sayaam chakor mano tran jo sun ree ih bhaat kahai man mero |So started saying, O Sakhi! Listen, my mind says like this that Shyam roop chakor then
ਤਾਹੀ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਸੁਨੋ ਸਸਿ ਸੋ ਮੁਖ ਦੇਖਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹੈ ਰੀ ਤੇਰੋ ॥੭੨੬॥
taahee nihaar nihaar suno sas so mukh dekhat hvai hai ree tero |726|“O Radha! my mind says that Krishna like a partridge is anxious to see your face like moon.”726.
ਰਾਧੇ ਬਾਚ ॥
raadhe baach |Speech of Radha:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਦੇਖਤ ਹੈ ਤੁ ਕਹਾ ਭਯੋ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਮੈ ਨ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਪਹਿ ਜੈਹੋ ॥
dekhat hai tu kahaa bhayo gvaaran mai na kahiyo tih ke peh jaiho |“What should I do, if he is anxious? I have already said that I shall not go
ਕਾਹੇ ਕੇ ਕਾਜ ਉਰਾਹਨ ਰੀ ਸਹਿ ਹੋ ਅਪਨੋ ਪਤਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਅਘੈ ਹੋ ॥
kaahe ke kaaj uraahan ree seh ho apano pat dekh aghai ho |For what I should endure the sarcasm? I shall remain pleased with my husband
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਰਚੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਅਉਰ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਇ ਕਹਾ ਜਸ ਪੈਹੋ ॥
sayaam rache sang aaur treeyaa tih ke peh jaae kahaa jas paiho |“Krishna is roaming with other women, what approbation will I attain, if I go to him?
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਪਧਾਰਹੁ ਰੀ ਸਜਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੌ ਨਹਿ ਜੀਵਤ ਰੂਪ ਦਿਖੈ ਹੋ ॥੭੨੭॥
taa te padhaarahu ree sajanee har kau neh jeevat roop dikhai ho |727|Therefore, O friend! you may go, I shall not be seen by Krishna now in my life.”727.
ਅਥ ਮੈਨਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਜੀ ਪਾਸ ਫਿਰ ਆਈ ॥
ath mainaprabhaa krisan jee paas fir aaee |Now begins the description of the return of Mainprabha to Krishna
ਦੂਤੀ ਬਾਚ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਜੂ ਸੋ ॥
dootee baach kaanrah joo so |Speech of the messenger addressed to Krishna:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਯੌ ਜਬ ਤਾਹਿ ਸੁਨੀ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਉਠ ਕੈ ਸੋਊ ਨੰਦ ਲਲਾ ਪਹਿ ਆਈ ॥
yau jab taeh sunee bateeyaa utth kai soaoo nand lalaa peh aaee |When she heard such things (from Radha), (then) she got up and came to Krishna.
ਆਇ ਕੈ ਐਸੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਨਹਿ ਮਾਨਤ ਮੂੜ ਮਨਾਈ ॥
aae kai aaise kahiyo har pai har joo neh maanat moorr manaaee |When Mainprabha heard all this talk, she got up and came to the son of Nand and said, “O Krishna! that fool was greatly persuaded, but still persists in not coming
ਕੈ ਤਜਿ ਵਾਹਿ ਰਚੌ ਇਨ ਸੋ ਨਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੂੰ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਲਿਆਉ ਮਨਾਈ ॥
kai taj vaeh rachau in so nahee aap hoon jaae kai liaau manaaee |“Now leave her and roam with these gopis, or you may go yourself and bring her after persuation
ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਬਾਤ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਤਹ ਕੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਧਾਈ ॥੭੨੮॥
yau sun baat chaliyo tah ko kab sayaam kahai har aap hee dhaaee |728|” Hearing these words, the poet Shyam says that Krishna went himself towards her.728.
ਅਉਰ ਨ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨਿ ਕੋਊ ਪਠੀ ਚਲਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਤਬ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਯੋ ॥
aaur na gvaarin koaoo patthee chal kai har joo tab aap hee aayo |Krishna did not send another gopi and came himself
ਤਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਨਿਹਾਰਤ ਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
taahee ko roop nihaarat hee brikhabhaan sutaa man mai sukh paayo |Seeing him, Radha was extremely pleased
ਪਾਇ ਘਨੋ ਸੁਖ ਪੈ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਊਪਰਿ ਮਾਨ ਸੋ ਬੋਲ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥
paae ghano sukh pai man mai at aoopar maan so bol sunaayo |Though she was greatly satisfied in her mind but still externally showing her pride,
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਹੂੰ ਸੋ ਕੇਲ ਕਰੋ ਇਹ ਠਉਰ ਕਹਾ ਤਜਿ ਲਾਜਹਿ ਆਯੋ ॥੭੨੯॥
chandrabhagaa hoon so kel karo ih tthaur kahaa taj laajeh aayo |729|She said, “You keep yourself absorbed in amorous sport with Chandarbhaga, why have you come here forsaking your shyness?”729.
ਰਾਧੇ ਬਾਚ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਜੂ ਸੋ ॥
raadhe baach kaanrah joo so |Speech of Radha addressed to Krishna:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਰਾਸਹਿ ਕਿਉ ਤਜਿ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਚਲਿ ਕੈ ਹਮਰੇ ਪਹਿ ਕਿਉ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਆਯੋ ॥
raaseh kiau taj chandrabhagaa chal kai hamare peh kiau kahiyo aayo |“O Krishna! why have you come here to me, leaving Chandarbhaga in the arena of amorous sport?
ਕਿਉ ਇਹ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਕੀ ਸਿਖ ਮਾਨ ਕੈ ਆਪਨ ਹੀ ਉਠ ਕੈ ਸਖੀ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
kiau ih gvaaran kee sikh maan kai aapan hee utth kai sakhee dhaayo |Why have you come yourself agreeing with these gopis (messengers)?
ਜਾਨਤ ਥੀ ਕਿ ਬਡੋ ਠਗੁ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਬਾਤਨ ਤੇ ਅਬ ਹੀ ਲਖਿ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
jaanat thee ki baddo tthag hai ih baatan te ab hee lakh paayo |“I knew you as a very great cheat and now it has become clear by your actions
ਕਿਉ ਹਮਰੇ ਪਹਿ ਆਏ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹਮ ਤੋ ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਬੋਲਿ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥੭੩੦॥
kiau hamare peh aae kahiyo ham to tum ko nahee bol patthaayo |730|Why are you calling me? I have not called you.”730.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਜੂ ਬਾਚ ਰਾਧੇ ਸੋ ॥
kaanrah joo baach raadhe so |Speech of Krishna addressed to Radha:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਉਤਰ ਦੇਤ ਭਯੋ ਨਹਿ ਰੀ ਤੁਹਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਬੋਲ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥
yau sun utar det bhayo neh ree tuhi gvaaran bol patthaayo |Listening to this answer, Krishna said, “All your gopi-friends are calling you there
