ਤਹੀ ਉਧਰਿ ਤਿਹ ਸੰਗ ਸਿਧਾਈ ॥੫॥
tahee udhar tih sang sidhaaee |5|And left with him from there. 5.
ਸਹਚਰਿ ਭੇਦ ਚਰਿਤ ਇਕ ਜਾਨਾ ॥
sahachar bhed charit ik jaanaa |sakhi understood (his) character
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਾਥ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨਾ ॥
eih bidh saath charitr pramaanaa |And played the character in this way.
ਰੋਇ ਰੋਇ ਧੁਨਿ ਊਚ ਪੁਕਾਰੈ ॥
roe roe dhun aooch pukaarai |(She) began to cry and call in a loud voice
ਦੈ ਦੈ ਮੂੰਡ ਧਰਨਿ ਸੌ ਮਾਰੈ ॥੬॥
dai dai moondd dharan sau maarai |6|And started hitting the ground after lifting the head. 6.
ਚੰਪਕਲਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੀ ਜਾਈ ॥
chanpakalaa raajaa kee jaaee |(It was said that) to Raj Kumari Champkala
ਰਾਛਸ ਗਹੀ ਆਨਿ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
raachhas gahee aan dukhadaaee |A sad monster has taken it away.
ਤਾਹਿ ਛੁਰੈਯੈ ਜਾਨ ਨ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
taeh chhuraiyai jaan na deejai |Get rid of him and don't let go
ਬੇਗਹਿ ਬਧ ਦਾਨਵ ਕੋ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੭॥
begeh badh daanav ko keejai |7|And quickly kill the demon.7.
ਏ ਸੁਨਿ ਬੈਨ ਲੋਗ ਸਭ ਧਾਏ ॥
e sun bain log sabh dhaae |Hearing this, all the people drew their swords
ਕਾਢੇ ਖੜਗ ਬਾਗ ਮੈ ਆਏ ॥
kaadte kharrag baag mai aae |Arrived in the garden.
ਦੈਤ ਵੈਤ ਤਹ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਨਿਹਾਰਾ ॥
dait vait tah kachh na nihaaraa |(They) did not see any giants there
ਚਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਭੇ ਜਿਯ ਮਾਝ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੮॥
chakrit bhe jiy maajh bichaaraa |8|And he started thinking in his mind in surprise. 8.
ਹਰਿ ਦਾਨਵ ਤਿਹ ਗਯੋ ਅਕਾਸਾ ॥
har daanav tih gayo akaasaa |(That) the monster has lifted him up and gone to the sky.
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਨਿਰਾਸਾ ॥
raaj kuar te bhe niraasaa |He was disappointed by Raj Kumari.
ਰੋਇ ਪੀਟ ਦੁਹਿਤਾ ਕਹ ਹਾਰੇ ॥
roe peett duhitaa kah haare |King Raj Kumari was very sad to lose
ਰਾਜਾ ਭਏ ਅਧਿਕ ਦੁਖਿਯਾਰੇ ॥੯॥
raajaa bhe adhik dukhiyaare |9|And sat crying. 9.
ਕੇਤਿਕ ਦਿਨਨ ਸਕਲ ਧਨ ਖਾਯੋ ॥
ketik dinan sakal dhan khaayo |For a few days (they) spent all the money
ਦੇਸ ਬਿਦੇਸ ਫਿਰਤ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
des bides firat dukh paayo |And traveled abroad and suffered a lot.
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਹਿ ਕੌ ਤ੍ਯਾਗੀ ॥
raaj kuar mitreh kau tayaagee |By abandoning Raj Kumari Mitra
ਆਧੀ ਰਤਿ ਦੇਸ ਕੌ ਭਾਗੀ ॥੧੦॥
aadhee rat des kau bhaagee |10|She ran away to her country in the middle of the night. 10.
ਲਿਖਿ ਪਤ੍ਰੀ ਪਿਤ ਪਾਸ ਪਠਾਈ ॥
likh patree pit paas patthaaee |He wrote a letter and sent it to his father
ਦਾਨਵ ਤੇ ਮੈ ਦੇਵ ਛੁਰਾਈ ॥
daanav te mai dev chhuraaee |That the Lord has delivered me from the monster.
ਪਠੈ ਮਨੁਛ ਅਬ ਬੋਲਿ ਪਠਾਵਹੁ ॥
patthai manuchh ab bol patthaavahu |Now send a person and invite (me).
ਮੋਹਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਅਧਿਕ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥੧੧॥
mohi milaae adhik sukh paavahu |11|And get more happiness by meeting me. 11.
ਪੜਿ ਪਤ੍ਰੀ ਪਿਤ ਕੰਠ ਲਗਾਈ ॥
parr patree pit kantth lagaaee |The father read the letter and put it on (his) neck
ਅਧਿਕ ਪਾਲਕੀ ਤਹਾ ਪਠਾਈ ॥
adhik paalakee tahaa patthaaee |And sent many palanquins there.
ਚੰਪਕਲਾ ਕਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਲੈ ਆਯੋ ॥
chanpakalaa kah grih lai aayo |(He) brought home Champkala.
ਮੂਰਖ ਭੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਨ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੧੨॥
moorakh bhed abhed na paayo |12|The fool could not understand the difference. 12.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਦੋਇ ਸੌ ਅਠਸਠ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੨੬੮॥੫੨੨੯॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥
eit sree charitr pakhayaane triyaa charitre mantree bhoop sanbaade doe sau atthasatth charitr samaapatam sat subham sat |268|5229|afajoon|Here ends the 268th charitra of Mantri Bhup Sambad of Tria Charitra of Sri Charitropakhyan, all is auspicious. 268.5229. goes on

ਗੂਆ ਬੰਦਰ ਇਕ ਰਹਤ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਾ ॥
gooaa bandar ik rahat nripaalaa |king lived in the port of Goa
ਜਾ ਕੋ ਡੰਡ ਭਰਤ ਭੂਆਲਾ ॥
jaa ko ddandd bharat bhooaalaa |To which all kings used to pay the penalty (i.e. accept submission).
ਅਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਮੈ ਧਨ ॥
apramaan taa ke ghar mai dhan |He had immense wealth in his house.
ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਸੂਰ ਕੈ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਦੁਤਿਯ ਜਨੁ ॥੧॥
chandr soor kai indr dutiy jan |1|As if the second is Sun or Moon or Indra. 1.
ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਤੀ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਅਰਧੰਗਾ ॥
mitr matee taa kee aradhangaa |Mitra Mati (name) was his wife
ਪੁੰਨ੍ਰਯਮਾਨ ਦੂਸਰ ਜਨੁ ਗੰਗਾ ॥
punrayamaan doosar jan gangaa |Which is supposed to be the second holy Ganga.
ਮੀਨ ਕੇਤੁ ਰਾਜਾ ਤਹ ਰਾਜੈ ॥
meen ket raajaa tah raajai |There was a king named Pisces Ketu
ਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਮੀਨ ਧੁਜ ਲਾਜੈ ॥੨॥
jaa ko nirakh meen dhuj laajai |2|Seeing whom even Kama Dev used to be ashamed. 2.

sree jhakhaket matee duhitaa tih jaaniyai |He had a daughter named Jhakketu Mati.
ਅਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ਅਬਲਾ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨਿਯੈ ॥
apramaan abalaa kee prabhaa pramaaniyai |That Abla had boundless beauty.
ਜਾ ਸਮ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਕਹੂੰ ਨ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਨਿਯਤ ॥
jaa sam sundar kahoon na jag meh jaaniyat |No one in the world was as beautiful as her.
ਹੋ ਰੂਪਮਾਨ ਉਹਿ ਕੀ ਸੀ ਵਹੀ ਬਖਾਨਿਯਤ ॥੩॥
ho roopamaan uhi kee see vahee bakhaaniyat |3|A form like that was said to be the same. 3.

ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਭਏ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸਭਾ ਲਗਾਈ ॥
praat bhe nrip sabhaa lagaaee |(One day) in the morning the king held a meeting.
ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਸਭ ਲਿਯਾ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥
aooch neech sabh liyaa bulaaee |(In which he) invited all the high and the low.
ਤਹ ਇਕ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਸਾਹੁ ਕੋ ਆਯੋ ॥
tah ik putr saahu ko aayo |A king's son also came there.
