ਬ੍ਯਾਹੀ ਏਕ ਨਰੇਸ ਕੌ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਪੂਤ ਨ ਧਾਮ ॥੧॥
bayaahee ek nares kau jaa te poot na dhaam |1|She was married to a king but she had no son. 1.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਰਾਜਾ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਤ ਬਹੁ ਭਯੋ ॥
raajaa jatan karat bahu bhayo |The king made many efforts
ਪੂਤ ਨ ਧਾਮ ਬਿਧਾਤੈ ਦਯੋ ॥
poot na dhaam bidhaatai dayo |But God did not give him the gift of a son.
ਤਰੁਨ ਅਵਸਥਹਿ ਸਕਲ ਬਿਤਾਯੋ ॥
tarun avasatheh sakal bitaayo |(His) entire youthful state is over
ਬਿਰਧਾਪਨੋ ਅੰਤ ਗਤਿ ਆਯੋ ॥੨॥
biradhaapano ant gat aayo |2|And finally old age came. 2.
ਤਬ ਤਰੁਨੀ ਰਾਨੀ ਸੋ ਭਈ ॥
tab tarunee raanee so bhee |Then the queen became young
ਜਬ ਜ੍ਵਾਨੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੀ ਗਈ ॥
jab jvaanee raajaa kee gee |When the youth of the king passed.
ਤਾ ਸੌ ਭੋਗ ਰਾਵ ਨਹਿ ਕਰਈ ॥
taa sau bhog raav neh karee |The king did not entertain him
ਯਾ ਤੇ ਅਤਿ ਅਬਲਾ ਜਿਯ ਜਰਈ ॥੩॥
yaa te at abalaa jiy jaree |3|Because of which the woman used to burn a lot in her mind (i.e. she used to be sad). 3.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਏਕ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੌ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਰਾਨੀ ਕਰੀ ਬਨਾਇ ॥
ek purakh sau dosatee raanee karee banaae |Rani befriends a man.
ਕਾਮ ਭੋਗ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਕਰੈ ਨਿਤਿਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਧਾਮ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥੪॥
kaam bhog taa sau karai nitiprat dhaam bulaae |4|Every day she called him home and had sex with him. 4.

ਤਾ ਕੌ ਧਰਮ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਠਹਰਾਯੋ ॥
taa kau dharam bhraat tthaharaayo |He was killed by the brother of Dharma
ਸਭ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਡਾਯੋ ॥
sabh jag meh ih bhaat uddaayo |This matter was spread all over the world.
ਭਾਇ ਭਾਇ ਕਹਿ ਰੋਜ ਬੁਲਾਵੈ ॥
bhaae bhaae keh roj bulaavai |She used to call him brother every day
ਕਾਮ ਕੇਲ ਰੁਚਿ ਮਾਨ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥੫॥
kaam kel ruch maan kamaavai |5|And (with him) Ruchi used to play with interest. 5.
ਜੌ ਯਾ ਤੇ ਮੋ ਕੌ ਸੁਤ ਹੋਈ ॥
jau yaa te mo kau sut hoee |(The queen thought that) from this I would have a son,
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੋ ਪੂਤ ਲਖੈ ਸਭ ਕੋਈ ॥
nrip ko poot lakhai sabh koee |Everyone will think of him as the son of a king.
ਦੇਸ ਬਸੈ ਸਭ ਲੋਗ ਰਹੈ ਸੁਖ ॥
des basai sabh log rahai sukh |(With this) the country will continue to live, people will live happily
ਹਮਰੋ ਮਿਟੈ ਚਿਤ ਕੋ ਸਭ ਦੁਖ ॥੬॥
hamaro mittai chit ko sabh dukh |6|And all the sorrow of my heart will be removed. 6.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥

ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਕੇ ਭੋਗ ਕਰਤ ਤਾ ਸੋ ਭਈ ॥
bhaat bhaat ke bhog karat taa so bhee |Many kinds of indulgences started with him.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਸਭੈ ਚਿਤ ਤੇ ਦਈ ॥
nrip kee baat bisaar sabhai chit te dee |(He) forgot all the matter of the king from his mind.
ਲਪਟਿ ਲਪਟਿ ਗਈ ਨੈਨਨ ਨੈਨ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
lapatt lapatt gee nainan nain milaae kai |She used to wrap her eyes like this
ਹੋ ਫਸਤ ਹਿਰਨ ਜ੍ਯੋ ਹਿਰਨਿ ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਬਨਾਇ ਕੈ ॥੭॥
ho fasat hiran jayo hiran bilok banaae kai |7|As the deer gets trapped after seeing the deer.7.
ਇਤਕ ਦਿਨਨ ਰਾਜਾ ਜੂ ਦਿਵ ਕੇ ਲੋਕ ਗੇ ॥
eitak dinan raajaa joo div ke lok ge |In these days, the king went to heaven.
ਨਸਟ ਰਾਜ ਲਖਿ ਲੋਗ ਅਤਿ ਆਕੁਲ ਹੋਤ ਭੈ ॥
nasatt raaj lakh log at aakul hot bhai |Seeing the state being destroyed, the people became distraught.
ਤਬ ਰਾਨੀ ਮਿਤਵਾ ਕੌ ਲਯੋ ਬੁਲਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
tab raanee mitavaa kau layo bulaae kai |Then the queen called Mitra
ਹੋ ਦਯੋ ਰਾਜ ਕੋ ਸਾਜੁ ਜੁ ਛਤ੍ਰੁ ਫਿਰਾਇ ਕੈ ॥੮॥
ho dayo raaj ko saaj ju chhatru firaae kai |8|And made him wear an umbrella and handed over the kingdom. 8.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਪੂਤ ਨ ਧਾਮ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਭਏ ॥
poot na dhaam hamaare bhe |No son was born in our house
ਰਾਜਾ ਦੇਵ ਲੋਕ ਕੌ ਗਏ ॥
raajaa dev lok kau ge |And the king has gone to heaven.
ਰਾਜ ਇਹ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਹਮਾਰੋ ਕਰੋ ॥
raaj ih bhraat hamaaro karo |Now it will rule my brother
ਯਾ ਕੈ ਸੀਸ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਸੁਭ ਢਰੋ ॥੯॥
yaa kai sees chhatr subh dtaro |9|And the sun will hang over his head. 9.
ਮੇਰੋ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਰਾਜ ਇਹ ਕਰੋ ॥
mero bhraat raaj ih karo |(Now) this brother of mine will rule
ਅਤ੍ਰ ਪਤ੍ਰ ਯਾ ਕੇ ਸਿਰ ਢਰੋ ॥
atr patr yaa ke sir dtaro |And the four and the umbrella will hang over his head.
ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਆਗ੍ਯਾ ਸਭ ਕੈ ਹੈ ॥
soorabeer aagayaa sabh kai hai |Will allow all knights.
ਜਹਾ ਪਠੈਯੈ ਤਹ ਤੇ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥੧੦॥
jahaa patthaiyai tah te jai hai |10|Wherever he sends, he will go there. 10.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਰਾਨੀ ਐਸੋ ਬਚਨ ਕਹਿ ਦਯੋ ਜਾਰ ਕੌ ਰਾਜ ॥
raanee aaiso bachan keh dayo jaar kau raaj |Saying thus, the queen gave the kingdom to (her) friend.
ਮਿਤਵਾ ਕੌ ਰਾਜਾ ਕਿਯਾ ਫੇਰਿ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਦੈ ਸਾਜ ॥੧੧॥
mitavaa kau raajaa kiyaa fer chhatr dai saaj |11|Mitra was made king by giving umbrella and royal decoration. 11.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਸਭ ਪਾਇ ਲਗਾਏ ॥
soorabeer sabh paae lagaae |All the warriors were put at (his friend's) feet
ਗਾਉ ਗਾਉ ਚੌਧਰੀ ਬੁਲਾਏ ॥
gaau gaau chauadharee bulaae |And called the Chaudhary of the village.
ਦੈ ਸਿਰਪਾਉ ਬਿਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੇ ॥
dai sirapaau bidaa kar deene |Sent them back with syrup
ਆਪਨ ਭੋਗ ਜਾਰ ਸੌ ਕੀਨੈ ॥੧੨॥
aapan bhog jaar sau keenai |12|And you started having sex with your friend. 12.
ਮੇਰੋ ਰਾਜ ਸੁਫਲ ਸਭ ਭਯੋ ॥
mero raaj sufal sabh bhayo |(Now) my kingdom is successful
ਸਭ ਧਨ ਰਾਜ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੌ ਦਯੋ ॥
sabh dhan raaj mitr kau dayo |(And thus) gave all the wealth and kingdom to Mitra.
ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਅਰੁ ਮੋ ਮੈ ਭੇਦ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
mitr ar mo mai bhed na hoee |(He began to say) There is no difference between me and Mitra.
ਬਾਲ ਬ੍ਰਿਧ ਜਾਨਤ ਸਭ ਕੋਈ ॥੧੩॥
baal bridh jaanat sabh koee |13|(This matter) all children and old people know. 13.
ਸਕਲ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰੈ ॥
sakal prajaa ih bhaat uchaarai |All the people were saying like this
ਬੈਠਿ ਸਦਨ ਮੈ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਬਿਚਾਰੈ ॥
baitth sadan mai mantr bichaarai |And she was thinking sitting in the assembly house
ਨਸਟ ਰਾਜ ਰਾਨੀ ਲਖਿ ਲਯੋ ॥
nasatt raaj raanee lakh layo |That the queen saw the kingdom in ruins,
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਕੋ ਦਯੋ ॥੧੪॥
taa te raaj bhraat ko dayo |14|Therefore, the kingdom was given to his brother. 14.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਕੇਲ ਕਰਤ ਰੀਝੀ ਅਧਿਕ ਹੇਰਿ ਤਰਨਿ ਤਰੁਨੰਗ ॥
kel karat reejhee adhik her taran tarunang |Rani was very happy to see (her friend's) young body playing the game.
ਰਾਜ ਸਾਜ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਦਯੋ ਇਹ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ॥੧੫॥
raaj saaj taa te dayo ih charitr ke sang |15|He played this character and gave him the kingdom. 15.
ਨਸਟ ਹੋਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਰਾਜਿ ਲਖਿ ਕਿਯੋ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਕੌ ਦਾਨ ॥
nasatt hot triy raaj lakh kiyo bhraat kau daan |Foolish people were saying like this that (the queen) gave the kingdom to the brother after seeing it being destroyed.
ਲੋਗ ਮੂੜ ਐਸੇ ਕਹੈ ਸਕੈ ਨ ਭੇਦ ਪਛਾਨ ॥੧੬॥
log moorr aaise kahai sakai na bhed pachhaan |16|But they could not understand the real difference. 16.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਦੋਇ ਸੌ ਆਠਵੋ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੨੦੮॥੩੯੩੪॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥
eit sree charitr pakhayaane triyaa charitre mantree bhoop sanbaade doe sau aatthavo charitr samaapatam sat subham sat |208|3934|afajoon|Here ends the 208th chapter of Mantri Bhup Samvad of Tria Charitra of Sri Charitropakhyan, all is auspicious. 208.3934. goes on

ਧਾਰਾ ਨਗਰੀ ਕੋ ਰਹੈ ਭਰਥਰਿ ਰਾਵ ਸੁਜਾਨ ॥
dhaaraa nagaree ko rahai bharathar raav sujaan |In Dhara Nagar there lived a Sujan king named Bharthari.
ਦੋ ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ ਬਿਦ੍ਯਾ ਨਿਪੁਨ ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਬਲਵਾਨ ॥੧॥
do dvaadas bidayaa nipun soorabeer balavaan |1|He was proficient in fourteen sciences and brave and strong. 1.

ਭਾਨ ਮਤੀ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਬਰ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
bhaan matee taa ke bar naaree |His aunt was a beautiful queen named Mati
ਪਿੰਗੁਲ ਦੇਇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਨਿ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਯਾਰੀ ॥
pingul dee praanan te payaaree |And Pingul Devi was also loved by mortals.
ਅਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ਭਾ ਰਾਨੀ ਸੋਹੈ ॥
apramaan bhaa raanee sohai |Queens were adorned with unparalleled beauty.
ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਸੁਤਾ ਢਿਗ ਕੋ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
dev adev sutaa dtig ko hai |2|What good were the daughters of gods and giants in front of them. 2.

ਭਾਨ ਮਤੀ ਕੀ ਅਧਿਕ ਛਬਿ ਜਲ ਥਲ ਰਹੀ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
bhaan matee kee adhik chhab jal thal rahee samaae |The great beauty of Bhan Mati was absorbed in the water.
