ਮਹਾ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਬੀਰ ਬ੍ਰਿੰਦੰ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥
mahaa kop kai beer brindan sanghaare |

ਬਡੋ ਜੁਧ ਕੈ ਦੇਵ ਲੋਕੰ ਪਧਾਰੇ ॥੩੧॥
baddo judh kai dev lokan padhaare |31|

In great rage, he killed many soldiers and after a great fight departed for the heavenly abode.31.

ਹਠਿਯੋ ਹਿਮਤੰ ਕਿੰਮਤੰ ਲੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨੰ ॥
hatthiyo himatan kinmatan lai kripaanan |

ਲਏ ਗੁਰਜ ਚਲੰ ਸੁ ਜਲਾਲ ਖਾਨੰ ॥
le guraj chalan su jalaal khaanan |

The tenacious Himmat and Kimmat drew out their spears and Jalal Khan joined with a mace.

ਹਠੇ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਮਤ ਜੋਧਾ ਜੁਝਾਰੰ ॥
hatthe sooramaa mat jodhaa jujhaaran |

ਪਰੀ ਕੁਟ ਕੁਟੰ ਉਠੀ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਝਾਰੰ ॥੩੨॥
paree kutt kuttan utthee sasatr jhaaran |32|

The determined warriors fought, seemingly intoxicated. There were blows after blows and the sparks fell, when the weapons struck each other.32.

RASAAVAL STANZA

ਜਸੰਵਾਲ ਧਾਏ ॥
jasanvaal dhaae |

ਤੁਰੰਗੰ ਨਚਾਏ ॥
turangan nachaae |

The Raja of Jaswal rushed forward on the galloping horse.

ਲਯੋ ਘੇਰਿ ਹੁਸੈਨੀ ॥
layo gher husainee |

ਹਨ੍ਯੋ ਸਾਗ ਪੈਨੀ ॥੩੩॥
hanayo saag painee |33|

He surrounded Hussain and struck his sharp lance at him.33.

ਤਿਨੂ ਬਾਣ ਬਾਹੇ ॥
tinoo baan baahe |

ਬਡੇ ਸੈਨ ਗਾਹੇ ॥
badde sain gaahe |

He (Hussaini) discharged arrow and destroyed much of the army.

ਜਿਸੈ ਅੰਗਿ ਲਾਗ੍ਯੋ ॥
jisai ang laagayo |

ਤਿਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਤ੍ਯਾਗ੍ਰਯੋ ॥੩੪॥
tise praan tayaagrayo |34|

He, who is struck by the arrow on his chest, he breathes his last.34.

ਜਬੈ ਘਾਵ ਲਾਗ੍ਯੋ ॥
jabai ghaav laagayo |

ਤਬੈ ਕੋਪ ਜਾਗ੍ਯੋ ॥
tabai kop jaagayo |

Whenever one is wounded, he gets highly infuriated.

ਸੰਭਾਰੀ ਕਮਾਣੰ ॥
sanbhaaree kamaanan |

ਹਣੇ ਬੀਰ ਬਾਣੰ ॥੩੫॥
hane beer baanan |35|

Then, holding his bow, he kills the warriors with arrows. 35.

ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਢੂਕੇ ॥
chahoon or dtooke |

ਮੁਖੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੂਕੇ ॥
mukhan maar kooke |

The warriors advance from all the four sides and shout “kill, kill”.

ਨ੍ਰਿਭੈ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਬਾਹੈ ॥
nribhai sasatr baahai |

ਦੋਊ ਜੀਤ ਚਾਹੈ ॥੩੬॥
doaoo jeet chaahai |36|

They strike their weapons fearlessly, both the sides wish for their victory.36.

ਰਿਸੇ ਖਾਨਜਾਦੇ ॥
rise khaanajaade |

ਮਹਾ ਮਦ ਮਾਦੇ ॥
mahaa mad maade |

The sons of Khans, in great ire and puffed up with great ego,

ਮਹਾ ਬਾਣ ਬਰਖੇ ॥
mahaa baan barakhe |

ਸਭੇ ਸੂਰ ਹਰਖੇ ॥੩੭॥
sabhe soor harakhe |37|

Shower the rain of arrows all the warriors are filled with anger.37.

ਕਰੈ ਬਾਣ ਅਰਚਾ ॥
karai baan arachaa |

ਧਨੁਰ ਬੇਦ ਚਰਚਾ ॥
dhanur bed charachaa |

There is spattering of arrows (in worship) and the bows seem engaged in Vedic discussion.

ਸੁ ਸਾਗੰ ਸਮ੍ਰਹਾਲੰ ॥
su saagan samrahaalan |

ਕਰੈ ਤਉਨ ਠਾਮੰ ॥੩੮॥
karai taun tthaaman |38|

Wherever the warrior wants to strike the blow, he strikes it.38.

ਬਲੀ ਬੀਰ ਰੁਝੇ ॥
balee beer rujhe |

ਸਮੁਹ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਜੁਝੇ ॥
samuh sasatr jujhe |

The brave fighters are busy in this task they are engaged in war with all their wepons.

ਲਗੈ ਧੀਰ ਧਕੈ ॥
lagai dheer dhakai |

ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣੰ ਝਨਕੈ ॥੩੯॥
kripaanan jhanakai |39|

The warriors, with the quality of forbearance, are knocking forcefully and their swords are clattering.39.

ਕੜਕੈ ਕਮਾਣੰ ॥
karrakai kamaanan |

ਝਣਕੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣੰ ॥
jhanakai kripaanan |

The bows crackle and the swords clatter.

ਕੜਕਾਰ ਛੁਟੈ ॥
karrakaar chhuttai |

ਝਣੰਕਾਰ ਉਠੈ ॥੪੦॥
jhanankaar utthai |40|

The arrows, when discharged, produce knocking sound, and the weapons when struck, produce jingling sound.40.

ਹਠੀ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਝਾਰੇ ॥
hatthee sasatr jhaare |

ਨ ਸੰਕਾ ਬਿਚਾਰੇ ॥
n sankaa bichaare |

The warriors are striking their weapons, they do not think of the impending death.

ਕਰੇ ਤੀਰ ਮਾਰੰ ॥
kare teer maaran |

ਫਿਰੈ ਲੋਹ ਧਾਰੰ ॥੪੧॥
firai loh dhaaran |41|

The arrows are being discharged and the swords are being struck. 41.

ਨਦੀ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਪੂਰੰ ॥
nadee sron pooran |

ਫਿਰੈ ਗੈਣਿ ਹੂਰੰ ॥
firai gain hooran |

The stream of bloods is full, the houris (the heavenly damsels) are moving in the sky.

ਉਭੇ ਖੇਤ ਪਾਲੰ ॥
aubhe khet paalan |

ਬਕੇ ਬਿਕਰਾਲੰ ॥੪੨॥
bake bikaraalan |42|

On both sides, the warriors utter dreadful shouts.42.

ਪਾਧੜੀ ਛੰਦ ॥
paadharree chhand |

PAADHARI STANZA

ਤਹ ਹੜ ਹੜਾਇ ਹਸੇ ਮਸਾਣ ॥
tah harr harraae hase masaan |

ਲਿਟੇ ਗਜਿੰਦ੍ਰ ਛੁਟੇ ਕਿਕਰਾਣ ॥
litte gajindr chhutte kikaraan |

The ghosts are laughing loudly in the battlefield, the elephants are soiling in dust and the horses are roaming without riders.

ਜੁਟੇ ਸੁ ਬੀਰ ਤਹ ਕੜਕ ਜੰਗ ॥
jutte su beer tah karrak jang |

ਛੁਟੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣ ਬੁਠੇ ਖਤੰਗ ॥੪੩॥
chhuttee kripaan butthe khatang |43|

The warriors are fighting with one another and their weapons are creating are creating knocking sounds. The swords are being struck and the arrows are being showered.43.

ਡਾਕਨ ਡਹਕਿ ਚਾਵਡ ਚਿਕਾਰ ॥
ddaakan ddahak chaavadd chikaar |

ਕਾਕੰ ਕਹਕਿ ਬਜੈ ਦੁਧਾਰ ॥
kaakan kahak bajai dudhaar |

The vampires are shouting and the hagh are shrieking. The crows are cawing loudly and the double-edged swords are clattering.

ਖੋਲੰ ਖੜਕਿ ਤੁਪਕਿ ਤੜਾਕਿ ॥
kholan kharrak tupak tarraak |

ਸੈਥੰ ਸੜਕ ਧਕੰ ਧਹਾਕਿ ॥੪੪॥
saithan sarrak dhakan dhahaak |44|

The helmets are being knocked at and the guns are booming. The daggers are clattering and there is violent pushing. 44.

ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang prayaat chhand |

BHUJANG STANZA

ਤਹਾ ਆਪ ਕੀਨੋ ਹੁਸੈਨੀ ਉਤਾਰੰ ॥
tahaa aap keeno husainee utaaran |

ਸਭੁ ਹਾਥਿ ਬਾਣੰ ਕਮਾਣੰ ਸੰਭਾਰੰ ॥
sabh haath baanan kamaanan sanbhaaran |

Then Hussain himself entered the fray, all the warriors took up bows and arrows.

ਰੁਪੇ ਖਾਨ ਖੂਨੀ ਕਰੈ ਲਾਗ ਜੁਧੰ ॥
rupe khaan khoonee karai laag judhan |

ਮੁਖੰ ਰਕਤ ਨੈਣੰ ਭਰੇ ਸੂਰ ਕ੍ਰੁਧੰ ॥੪੫॥
mukhan rakat nainan bhare soor krudhan |45|

The bloody Khans stood firmly and began to fight with faces and eyes red with ire.45.

ਜਗਿਯੋ ਜੰਗ ਜਾਲਮ ਸੁ ਜੋਧੰ ਜੁਝਾਰੰ ॥
jagiyo jang jaalam su jodhan jujhaaran |

ਬਹੇ ਬਾਣ ਬਾਕੇ ਬਰਛੀ ਦੁਧਾਰੰ ॥
bahe baan baake barachhee dudhaaran |

The terrible battle of valiant warriors began. The arrows, spears and double-edged swords were used by the heroes.

ਮਿਲੇ ਬੀਰ ਬੀਰੰ ਮਹਾ ਧੀਰ ਬੰਕੇ ॥
mile beer beeran mahaa dheer banke |

ਧਕਾ ਧਕਿ ਸੈਥੰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣੰ ਝਨੰਕੇ ॥੪੬॥
dhakaa dhak saithan kripaanan jhananke |46|

The warriors met being pushed forward and the swords are jingling.46.

ਭਏ ਢੋਲ ਢੰਕਾਰ ਨਦੰ ਨਫੀਰੰ ॥
bhe dtol dtankaar nadan nafeeran |

ਉਠੇ ਬਾਹੁ ਆਘਾਤ ਗਜੈ ਸੁਬੀਰੰ ॥
autthe baahu aaghaat gajai subeeran |

The drums and the fifes are resounding, the arms rise to strike blows and the brave fighters are roaring.

ਨਵੰ ਨਦ ਨੀਸਾਨ ਬਜੇ ਅਪਾਰੰ ॥
navan nad neesaan baje apaaran |

ਰੁਲੇ ਤਛ ਮੁਛੰ ਉਠੀ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਝਾਰੰ ॥੪੭॥
rule tachh muchhan utthee sasatr jhaaran |47|

The new trumpets resound in great numbers. The chopped heroes are rolling in dust and the sparks arise with the collision of weapons.47.

ਟਕਾ ਟੁਕ ਟੋਪੰ ਢਕਾ ਢੁਕ ਢਾਲੰ ॥
ttakaa ttuk ttopan dtakaa dtuk dtaalan |

ਮਹਾ ਬੀਰ ਬਾਨੈਤ ਬਕੈ ਬਿਕ੍ਰਾਲੰ ॥
mahaa beer baanait bakai bikraalan |

The helmets and shield have been broken into bits and the great heroes shooting arrows look terrible and not elegant.

ਨਚੇ ਬੀਰ ਬੈਤਾਲਯੰ ਭੂਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤੰ ॥
nache beer baitaalayan bhoot pretan |
