ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਲੇਖੈਂ ॥
dhan dhan lekhain |And chanting blessings.
ਇਤ ਸਰ ਛੋਰੇ ॥
eit sar chhore |Arrows shoot from here (with which warriors).
ਮਸ ਕਣ ਤੂਟੈਂ ॥੭੫੩॥
mas kan toottain |753|From the other side the gods are seeing the war and the sound of “Bravo, Bravo” is being heard. On this side the arrows are being discharged and bits of flesh are being chopped.753.
ਭਟ ਬਰ ਗਾਜੈਂ ॥
bhatt bar gaajain |The best warriors roar,
ਦੁੰਦਭ ਬਾਜੈਂ ॥
dundabh baajain |roars,
ਸਰਬਰ ਛੋਰੈਂ ॥
sarabar chhorain |Good arrows fly,
ਮੁਖ ਨਹ ਮੋਰੈਂ ॥੭੫੪॥
mukh nah morain |754|The warriors are thundering, the drums are resounding, the arrows are being discharge, but still they are not retreating from the war-arena.754.
ਲਛਮਨ ਬਾਚ ਸਿਸ ਸੋ ॥
lachhaman baach sis so |The speech of Lakshman addressed to the boys :
ਅਣਕਾ ਛੰਦ ॥
anakaa chhand |ANKA STANZA
ਸ੍ਰਿਣ ਸ੍ਰਿਣ ਲਰਕਾ ॥
srin srin larakaa |Listen, listen, boys!
ਜਿਨ ਕਰੁ ਕਰਖਾ ॥
jin kar karakhaa |Do not fight ('Karkha'),
ਦੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਘੋਰਾ ॥
de mil ghoraa |give a horse and meet
ਤੁਹਿ ਬਲ ਥੋਰਾ ॥੭੫੫॥
tuhi bal thoraa |755|“O boys! listen and do not wage the war, meet me while bringing the horse, because you have inadequate strength.755.
ਹਠ ਤਜਿ ਅਈਐ ॥
hatth taj aeeai |Leave stubbornness and come.
ਜਿਨ ਸਮੁਹਈਐ ॥
jin samuheeai |don't resist
ਮਿਲਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੋ ਕੋ ॥
mil mil mo ko |come meet me
ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੋ ਕੋ ॥੭੫੬॥
ddar naheen to ko |756|“Come after forsaking your persistence and do not confront me, have no fear, come and meet me.”756.
ਸਿਸ ਨਹੀ ਮਾਨੀ ॥
sis nahee maanee |(Lachman's words) the children did not believe,
ਅਤਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ॥
at abhimaanee |They are very proud,
ਗਹਿ ਧਨੁ ਗਜਯੋ ॥
geh dhan gajayo |Holding the bow they thunder
ਦੁ ਪਗ ਨ ਭਜਯੋ ॥੭੫੭॥
du pag na bhajayo |757|The boys did not agree because they were proud their strength, they caught hold of their bows and roared and did not retrace even two steps.757.
ਅਜਬਾ ਛੰਦ ॥
ajabaa chhand |AJBA STANZA
ਰੁਧੇ ਰਣ ਭਾਈ ॥
rudhe ran bhaaee |Both brothers are engrossed in the Rann.
ਸਰ ਝੜਿ ਲਾਈ ॥
sar jharr laaee |A flurry of arrows has been laid,
ਬਰਖੇ ਬਾਣੰ ॥
barakhe baanan |They shoot arrows
ਪਰਖੇ ਜੁਆਣੰ ॥੭੫੮॥
parakhe juaanan |758|Both the brother were absorbed in war and showering their arrows, they tested the strength of the soldiers.758.
ਡਿਗੇ ਰਣ ਮਧੰ ॥
ddige ran madhan |(many) have fallen in the field,
ਅਧੋ ਅਧੰ ॥
adho adhan |(many) lying half-cut,
ਕਟੇ ਅੰਗੰ ॥
katte angan |(many) limbs are cut off,
ਰੁਝੈ ਜੰਗੰ ॥੭੫੯॥
rujhai jangan |759|The warriors fell in the battlefield being chopped into bits, and the limbs of the fighting soldiers were cut.759.
ਬਾਣਨ ਝੜ ਲਾਯੋ ॥
baanan jharr laayo |(The warriors have shot a barrage of arrows,
ਸਰਬ ਰਸਾਯੋ ॥
sarab rasaayo |The pools of blood waved with the shower of arrows
ਬਹੁ ਅਰ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
bahu ar maare |(Love) has killed many enemies,
ਡੀਲ ਡਰਾਰੇ ॥੭੬੦॥
ddeel ddaraare |760|Many enemies were killed and many were filled with fear.760.
ਡਿਗੇ ਰਣ ਭੂਮੰ ॥
ddige ran bhooman |(many) have fallen in the field,
ਨਰਬਰ ਘੂਮੰ ॥
narabar ghooman |The superb warriors began to fall in the battlefield while swinging
ਰਜੇ ਰਣ ਘਾਯੰ ॥
raje ran ghaayan |Many are tired of fighting
ਚਕੇ ਚਾਯੰ ॥੭੬੧॥
chake chaayan |761|The wounds on the bodies were inflicted but still there was no dearth of zeal in them.761.

ਗਣੇ ਕੇਤੇ ॥
gane kete |Let's count how many
ਹਣੇ ਜੇਤੇ ॥
hane jete |Those who have been killed
ਕਈ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
kee maare |Many have been killed
ਕਿਤੇ ਹਾਰੇ ॥੭੬੨॥
kite haare |762|The number of died is unaccountable, how many of them were killed and how many of them were defeated.762.
ਸਭੈ ਭਾਜੇ ॥
sabhai bhaaje |all have fled,
ਚਿਤੰ ਲਾਜੇ ॥
chitan laaje |Shameful in heart,
ਭਜੇ ਭੈ ਕੈ ॥
bhaje bhai kai |They have run away in fear
ਜੀਯੰ ਲੈ ਕੈ ॥੭੬੩॥
jeeyan lai kai |763|Feeling ashamed in their mind all ran away and absorbed in fear they went away, saving their lives.763.
ਫਿਰੇ ਜੇਤੇ ॥
fire jete |(As many as to fight) came back
