ਚਾਰ ਅਛੂਹਨਿ ਲੈ ਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਦਲ ਤੋ ਪਰ ਆਏ ਹੈ ਕੋਪ ਬਢਾਏ ॥

chaar achhoohan lai ham hoon dal to par aae hai kop badtaae |

But we have come with the four untouchables of the army and increased our anger on you.

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਲੈ ਹਮਰੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੋ ਤਜਿ ਆਹਵ ਜਾਹੁ ਪਰਾਏ ॥੧੧੮੬॥

taa te kahiyo sun lai hamaro grih ko taj aahav jaahu paraae |1186|

“We have brought four such units in great anger, therefore, you may leave the war-arena and run away to your home.”1186.

ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹਮ ਜੁਧ ਕਰੈਂਗੇ ॥

yau sun kai bateeyaa tih kee har kop kahiyo ham judh karainge |

Hearing their words like this, Sri Krishna got angry and said, We will fight.

ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਗਦਾ ਗਹਿ ਕੈ ਦੋਊ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਸਬੈ ਅਰਿ ਸੈਨ ਹਰੈਂਗੇ ॥

baan kamaan gadaa geh kai doaoo bhraat sabai ar sain harainge |

Hearing these words, Krishna in great ire, challenged them for war and said, “We, both brothers, taking up our bows and arrows, shall destroy all your army

ਸੂਰ ਸਿਵਾਦਿਕ ਤੇ ਨ ਭਜੈ ਹਨਿ ਹੈ ਤੁਮ ਕਉ ਨਹਿ ਜੂਝਿ ਮਰੈਂਗੇ ॥

soor sivaadik te na bhajai han hai tum kau neh joojh marainge |

“We have not been frightened even by Surya and Shive, therefore, we shall kill all of you and sacrifice ourselves

ਮੇਰੁ ਹਲੈ ਸੁਖਿ ਹੈ ਨਿਧਿ ਬਾਰਿ ਤਊ ਰਨ ਕੀ ਛਿਤਿ ਤੇ ਨ ਟਰੈਂਗੇ ॥੧੧੮੭॥

mer halai sukh hai nidh baar taoo ran kee chhit te na ttarainge |1187|

Even if the Sumeru mountain is moved and the water of the ocean is dried up, we shall not leave the battlefield.”1187.

ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਤਿਨ ਸੋ ਕਸਿ ਕੈ ਇਕ ਬਾਨੁ ਸੁ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਚਲਾਯੋ ॥

yau keh kai bateeyaa tin so kas kai ik baan su sayaam chalaayo |

Saying these things to them, Krishna shot an arrow at the enemy.

ਲਾਗਿ ਗਯੋ ਅਜਬੇਸ ਕੇ ਬਛ ਸੁ ਲਾਗਤ ਹੀ ਕਛੁ ਖੇਦੁ ਨ ਪਾਯੋ ॥

laag gayo ajabes ke bachh su laagat hee kachh khed na paayo |

Saying thus, he discharged one arrow towards the enemies with full strength, which hit the waist of Ajaib Singh, but it could not do any harm to him

ਫੇਰਿ ਹਠੀ ਹਠਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਇਮ ਬੈਨ ਮਹਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥

fer hatthee hatth kai har so im bain mahaa kar kop sunaayo |

Then (he) stubbornly and being very angry spoke thus to Sri Krishna,

ਕਾ ਕਹੀਏ ਤਿਹ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਕੋ ਜਿਹ ਤੇ ਧਨੁ ਕੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਤੂੰ ਪੜਿ ਆਯੋ ॥੧੧੮੮॥

kaa kahee tih panddit ko jih te dhan kee bidh toon parr aayo |1188|

That mighty warrior said angrily to Krishna, “O Krishna, who is such a Pundit, from whom you have learnt the art of warfare.1188.

ਕੋਪ ਭਰੀ ਜਦੁਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਿਤਨਾ ਇਤ ਤੇ ਉਮਡੀ ਉਤ ਤੇ ਵਹ ਆਈ ॥

kop bharee jaduvee pritanaa it te umaddee ut te vah aaee |

From here the army of the Yadavas has come in anger and from there they (the army) have come.

ਮਾਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੀਏ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਕਬਿ ਰਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਜੀਯ ਰੋਸ ਬਢਾਈ ॥

maar hee maar kee mukh te kab raam kahai jeey ros badtaaee |

The Yadava army, in great fury, rushed there shouting “Kill, Kill”

ਬਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਗਦਾ ਕੇ ਲਗੇ ਬਹੁ ਜੂਝਿ ਪਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਦੁੰਦ ਲਰਾਈ ॥

baan kripaan gadaa ke lage bahu joojh pare kar dund laraaee |

In that war, a great part of the army fell down on the earth with the blows of arrows, swords and maces in that conflict

ਰੀਝ ਰਹੇ ਸੁਰ ਪੇਖਿ ਸਬੈ ਪੁਹਪਾਵਲਿ ਕੀ ਬਰਖਾ ਬਰਖਾਈ ॥੧੧੮੯॥

reejh rahe sur pekh sabai puhapaaval kee barakhaa barakhaaee |1189|

The gods on seeing this became pleased and showered flowers.1189.

ਇਤ ਤੇ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਰਿਸ ਬੀਰ ਲਰੈ ਨਭਿ ਮੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਦਿ ਸਨਾਦਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੈ ॥

eit te ran mai ris beer larai nabh mai brahamaad sanaad nihaarai |

Here on the plains the warriors fight in anger, (there) in the sky Brahma sees the primitive and the Sankadik.

ਆਗੇ ਨ ਐਸੋ ਭਯੋ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਰਨ ਆਪਸਿ ਮੈ ਇਮ ਬੋਲਿ ਉਚਾਰੈ ॥

aage na aaiso bhayo kabahoon ran aapas mai im bol uchaarai |

On this side, the warriors are fighting in great rage and on the other side, seeing all this, Brahma and other gods are saying amongst themselves in the sky: “There had not been such a dreadful war earlier,”
