ਕਹੂੰ ਨ ਚਰਚਾ ॥੧੬੦॥
kahoon na charachaa |160|

Even after searching in every home, no worship and prayer and no discussion on Vedas will be seen or heard.160.

ਮਧੁਭਾਰ ਛੰਦ ॥
madhubhaar chhand |

MADHUBHAAR STANZA

ਸਬ ਦੇਸ ਢਾਲ ॥
sab des dtaal |

This will be the way of all countries.

ਜਹ ਤਹ ਕੁਚਾਲ ॥
jah tah kuchaal |

Where there will be kuritas.

ਜਹ ਤਹ ਅਨਰਥ ॥
jah tah anarath |

where where the anartha (will be)

ਨਹੀ ਹੋਤ ਅਰਥ ॥੧੬੧॥
nahee hot arath |161|

The vicious conduct will be visible in all the countries and there be meaninglessness instead of meaningfulness everywhere.161.

ਸਬ ਦੇਸ ਰਾਜ ॥
sab des raaj |

The kings of all countries

ਨਿਤਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਕੁਕਾਜ ॥
nitaprat kukaaj |

They will do bad things daily.

ਨਹੀ ਹੋਤ ਨਿਆਇ ॥
nahee hot niaae |

There will be no justice.

ਜਹ ਤਹ ਅਨ੍ਯਾਇ ॥੧੬੨॥
jah tah anayaae |162|

Evil action were committed throughout the country and everywhere there was injustice instead of justice.162.

ਛਿਤ ਭਈ ਸੁਦ੍ਰ ॥
chhit bhee sudr |

Earth will become Shudra (interested).

ਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਰਤ ਛੁਦ੍ਰ ॥
krit karat chhudr |

Will start doing low deeds.

ਤਹ ਬਿਪ੍ਰ ਏਕ ॥
tah bipr ek |

Then a Brahmin (will be)

ਜਿਹ ਗੁਨ ਅਨੇਕ ॥੧੬੩॥
jih gun anek |163|

All the people of the earth became Shudras and all were absorbed in base acts, there was only one Brahmin there who was full of virtues.163.

ਪਾਧਰੀ ਛੰਦ ॥
paadharee chhand |

PAADHARI STANZA

ਨਿਤ ਜਪਤ ਬਿਪ੍ਰ ਦੇਬੀ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ॥
nit japat bipr debee prachandd |

(That) Brahmin would daily chant Prachanda Devi,

ਜਿਹ ਕੀਨ ਧੂਮ੍ਰ ਲੋਚਨ ਦੁਖੰਡ ॥
jih keen dhoomr lochan dukhandd |

Who (the goddess) made two volumes of Dhumralochana,

ਜਿਹ ਕੀਨ ਦੇਵ ਦੇਵਿਸ ਸਹਾਇ ॥
jih keen dev devis sahaae |

Who helped the gods and the deva king (Indra),

ਜਿਹ ਲੀਨ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕਰਿ ਬਚਾਇ ॥੧੬੪॥
jih leen rudr kar bachaae |164|

A Brahmin always worshipped that goddess, who had chopped the demon named Dhumarlochan into two parts, who had helped the gods and even saved Rudra.164.

ਜਿਹ ਹਤੇ ਸੁੰਭ ਨੈਸੁੰਭ ਬੀਰ ॥
jih hate sunbh naisunbh beer |

Who slew the heroes (named) Shumbha and Nishumbha,

ਜਿਨ ਜੀਤ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੀਨੋ ਫਕੀਰ ॥
jin jeet indr keeno fakeer |

Those (demons) who defeated Indra and turned him into a hermit.

ਤਿਨਿ ਗਹੀ ਸਰਨ ਜਗ ਮਾਤ ਜਾਇ ॥
tin gahee saran jag maat jaae |

He (Indra) had taken shelter of Jag Maat (Goddess).

ਤਿਹਿ ਕੀਅਸ ਚੰਡਿਕਾ ਦੇਵਰਾਇ ॥੧੬੫॥
tihi keeas chanddikaa devaraae |165|

That goddess had destroyed Shumbh and Nishumbh, who had even conquered Indra and made him poor, Indra had taken refuge with the mother of the world, who had made him king of the gods again.165.

ਤਿਹਿ ਜਪਤ ਰੈਣ ਦਿਨ ਦਿਜ ਉਦਾਰ ॥
tihi japat rain din dij udaar |

(That) generous Brahmin used to chant to her (the goddess) day and night.

ਜਿਹਿ ਹਣਿਓ ਰੋਸਿ ਰਣਿ ਬਾਸਵਾਰ ॥
jihi hanio ros ran baasavaar |

Who in anger killed Indra's enemy ('Baswar' Mahkhasura) in the battle.

ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਹੁਤੀ ਤਾਸੁ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਕੁਚਾਰ ॥
grih hutee taas isatree kuchaar |

In his (Brahmin's) house was a woman of bad conduct.

ਤਿਹ ਗਹਿਓ ਨਾਹ ਦਿਨ ਇਕ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ॥੧੬੬॥
tih gahio naah din ik nihaar |166|

That Brahmin worshipped that goddess night and day, who in her fury had killed the demons of the nether-world, that Brahmin had a characterless (prostitute) wife in his home, one day she saw her husband performing the worship and offerings.166.

ਤ੍ਰੀਯੋ ਬਾਚ ਪਤਿ ਸੋ ॥
treeyo baach pat so |

Speech of the wife addressed to the husband :

ਕਿਹ ਕਾਜ ਮੂੜ ਸੇਵੰਤ ਦੇਵਿ ॥
kih kaaj moorr sevant dev |

O fool! For what purpose are you worshiping the goddess?

ਕਿਹ ਹੇਤ ਤਾਸੁ ਬੁਲਤ ਅਭੇਵਿ ॥
kih het taas bulat abhev |

Why is he called 'Abhevi' (indiscernible)?

ਕਿਹ ਕਾਰਣ ਵਾਹਿ ਪਗਿਆਨ ਪਰੰਤ ॥
kih kaaran vaeh pagiaan parant |

How do you fall at his feet?

ਕਿਮ ਜਾਨ ਬੂਝ ਦੋਜਖਿ ਗਿਰੰਤ ॥੧੬੭॥
kim jaan boojh dojakh girant |167|

”O fool! why are you worshipping the goddess and for what prupose you are uttering these mysterious mantras? Why are you falling at her feet and deliberately making an effort for going to hell?167.

ਕਿਹ ਕਾਜ ਮੂਰਖ ਤਿਹ ਜਪਤ ਜਾਪ ॥
kih kaaj moorakh tih japat jaap |

O fool! For whom do you chant?

ਨਹੀ ਡਰਤ ਤਉਨ ਕੋ ਥਪਤ ਥਾਪ ॥
nahee ddarat taun ko thapat thaap |

(Thou) fearest not in establishing him.

ਕੈਹੋ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਰਾਜਾ ਸਮੀਪ ॥
kaiho pukaar raajaa sameep |

(I will) go to the king and cry.

ਦੈ ਹੈ ਨਿਕਾਰ ਤੁਹਿ ਬਾਧਿ ਦੀਪ ॥੧੬੮॥
dai hai nikaar tuhi baadh deep |168|

“O fool! for what purpose you are repeating her Name, and do you not have any fear while repeating her Name ? I shall tell the king about your worship and he will exile you after arresting you.”168.

ਨਹੀ ਲਖਾ ਤਾਹਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਕੁਨਾਰਿ ॥
nahee lakhaa taeh brahamaa kunaar |

That poor woman did not understand (the power of) Brahman.

ਧਰਮਾਰਥ ਆਨਿ ਲਿਨੋ ਵਤਾਰ ॥
dharamaarath aan lino vataar |

(Kal Purukh) has come and incarnated for the propagation of religion.

ਸੂਦ੍ਰੰ ਸਮਸਤ ਨਾਸਾਰਥ ਹੇਤੁ ॥
soodran samasat naasaarath het |

For the destruction of all Shudras

ਕਲਕੀ ਵਤਾਰ ਕਰਬੇ ਸਚੇਤ ॥੧੬੯॥
kalakee vataar karabe sachet |169|

That vile woman did not know that the Lord had incarnated Himself for the protection of the people with the wisdom of Shudras and for making the people cautious, the Lord had incarnated Himself as Kalki.169.

ਹਿਤ ਜਾਨਿ ਤਾਸੁ ਹਟਕਿਓ ਕੁਨਾਰਿ ॥
hit jaan taas hattakio kunaar |

Knowing her interest (the Brahmin) restrained the wicked woman.

ਨਹੀ ਲੋਕ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਬੁਲੇ ਭਤਾਰ ॥
nahee lok traas bule bhataar |

But the husband did not speak out of fear of people.

ਤਬ ਕੁੜ੍ਰਹੀ ਨਾਰਿ ਚਿਤ ਰੋਸ ਠਾਨਿ ॥
tab kurrrahee naar chit ros tthaan |

Then she got angry and started beating in Chit

ਸੰਭਲ ਨਰੇਸ ਤਨ ਕਹੀ ਆਨਿ ॥੧੭੦॥
sanbhal nares tan kahee aan |170|

He rebuked his wife, realizing her welfare and because of the fear of public discussion, the husband kept silent, on this, that woman got enraged and going before the king of the town of Sambhal, she related the whole episode.170.

ਪੂਜੰਤ ਦੇਵ ਦੀਨੋ ਦਿਖਾਇ ॥
poojant dev deeno dikhaae |

Appeared (to the king) worshiping the goddess (by the husband).

ਤਿਹ ਗਹਾ ਕੋਪ ਕਰਿ ਸੂਦ੍ਰ ਰਾਇ ॥
tih gahaa kop kar soodr raae |

(Then) the Shudra king got angry and seized him.

ਗਹਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਦੀਨੀ ਸਜਾਇ ॥
geh taeh adhik deenee sajaae |

caught him and punished him greatly (and said)

ਕੈ ਹਨਤ ਤੋਹਿ ਕੈ ਜਪ ਨ ਮਾਇ ॥੧੭੧॥
kai hanat tohi kai jap na maae |171|

She showed the worshipping Brahmin to the king and the Shudra king getting infuriated, arrested him and giving him the hard punishment, the king said, “I shall kill you, or you abandon the worship of the goddess.”171.
