ਯੌ ਬਲਿਭਦ੍ਰ ਹਨਿਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਸਭ ਬਿਪਨ ਕੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੨੪੦੧॥
yau balibhadr haniyo tih ko sabh bipan ko fun kaaj savaariyo |2401|In this way killing him, Balram completed the task assigned to him by the Brahmins.2401.
ਪਉਰਖ ਜੋ ਮੂਸਲੀਧਰਿ ਕੋ ਕਹਿਓ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕਉ ਸੁਕਦੇਵ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥
paurakh jo moosaleedhar ko kahio nrip kau sukadev sunaayo |In this way, Shukdev related the bravery of Balram to the king
ਜਾਹਿ ਕਥਾ ਦਿਜ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਸ੍ਰਉਨ ਸੁਨੀ ਤਿਨ ਹੂ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
jaeh kathaa dij ke mukh te sabh sraun sunee tin hoo sukh paayo |Whosoever has heard this story from the mouth of a Brahmin, he obtained happiness
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕੀਏ ਸਸਿ ਸੂਰ ਨਿਸਾ ਦਿਵ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨੋ ਜੀਅ ਆਯੋ ॥
jaa ke kee sas soor nisaa div taahee kee baat suno jeea aayo |The moon, the sun, the night and the day are made or created by him, to listen to him, came to (his) mind.
ਤਾਹੀ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨਾਉ ਦਿਜੋਤਮ ਬੇਦਨ ਕੈ ਜੋਊ ਭੇਦ ਨ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੨੪੦੨॥
taahee kee baat sunaau dijotam bedan kai joaoo bhed na paayo |2402|“He, whose creation are the sun and moon, and day and night we should listen to his words. O great Brahmin! relate the story of Him, whose secret has not even been comprehended by the Vedas.2402.
ਜਾਹਿ ਖੜਾਨਨ ਸੇ ਸਹਸਾਨਨ ਖੋਜਿ ਰਹੇ ਕਛੁ ਪਾਰ ਨ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
jaeh kharraanan se sahasaanan khoj rahe kachh paar na paayo |“He, whom, Kartikeya and Sheshnaga searched and got tired, but they could not know His end
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਜਿਹ ਕਉ ਚਤੁਰਾਨਨ ਬੇਦਨ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਗਾਯੋ ॥
sayaam bhanai jih kau chaturaanan bedan ke gun bheetar gaayo |He, who has been eulogised by Brahma in the Vedas.
ਖੋਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਿਵ ਸੇ ਜਿਹ ਅੰਤ ਅਨੰਤ ਕਹਿਓ ਥਕਿ ਅੰਤ ਨ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
khoj rahe siv se jih ant anant kahio thak ant na paayo |“He, whom Shiva etc. had been searching, but could not know His Mystery
ਤਾਹੀ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨੋ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਸੁਕਦੇਵ ਇਹੈ ਠਹਰਾਯੋ ॥੨੪੦੩॥
taahee kee baat suno tumare mukh te sukadev ihai tthaharaayo |2403|O Shukdev! relate to me the story of that Lord.”2403.
ਭੂਪਤਿ ਜਉ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੁਕ ਕਉ ਸੁਕ ਹੂ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੁਨਾਈ ॥
bhoopat jau ih bhaat kahiyo suk kau suk hoo ih bhaat sunaaee |When the king said this, then Shukdev replied,
ਦੀਨ ਦਿਆਲ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨਾਵ ਹੋਂ ਤੁਹਿ ਕਉ ਤੁਹਿ ਭੇਦੁ ਛਪਾਈ ॥
deen diaal kee baat sunaav hon tuhi kau tuhi bhed chhapaaee |“I am relating to you the mystery of that Merciful Lord, who is the support of the oppressed
ਬਿਪ੍ਰ ਸੁਦਾਮਾ ਹੁਤੋ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਹਉ ਕਹੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੈਸੇ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥
bipr sudaamaa huto bipataa tih kee hau kaho har jaise mittaaee |“Now I relate this how the Lord removed the suffering of the Brahmin named Sudama
ਸੋ ਹਉ ਸੁਨਾਵਤ ਹਉ ਤੁਹਿ ਕਉ ਸੁਨ ਲੈ ਸੋਊ ਸ੍ਰਉਨਨ ਦੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਰਾਈ ॥੨੪੦੪॥
so hau sunaavat hau tuhi kau sun lai soaoo sraunan de nrip raaee |2404|O king! now I relate that, listen attentively,”2404.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਸਮ ਸਿਕੰਧ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਾਵਤਾਰੇ ਬਲਿਭਦ੍ਰ ਤੀਰਥ ਇਸਨਾਨ ਕਰਿ ਦੈਤ ਬਲਲ ਕੋ ਮਾਰਤ ਭਏ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੋ ਆਵਤ ਭਏ ਧਿਆਇ ਸਮਾਪਤੰ ॥
eit sree dasam sikandh puraane bachitr naattak granthe krisanaavataare balibhadr teerath isanaan kar dait balal ko maarat bhe grih ko aavat bhe dhiaae samaapatan |End of the chapter entitled “Brahma came home after taking bath at pilgrim-stations and killing the demon” in Krishnavatara (Dasham Skandh Purana) in Bachittar Natak.
ਸੁਦਾਮਾ ਬਾਰਤਾ ਕਥਨੰ ॥
sudaamaa baarataa kathanan |Now begins the description of the episode of Sudama

ਏਕੁ ਬਧੂ ਜੁਤ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਨ ਥੋ ਤਿਹ ਯਾ ਜਗੁ ਬੀਚ ਬਡੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
ek badhoo jut braahaman tho tih yaa jag beech baddo dukh paayo |There was a married Brahmin, who had undergone great suffering
ਦੁਖਿਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਇਕ ਦਿਵਸ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ ਮੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜੋ ਜਗ ਗਾਯੋ ॥
dukhit hvai ik divas kahiyo tih mitr hai mo prabh jo jag gaayo |Being greatly afflicted, one day he said (to his wife) that Krishna was his friend
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਜਾਹੁ ਤਹਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਮਾਨਤ ਭਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਮੂੰਡ ਮੁਡਾਯੋ ॥
taa kee treeyaa kahiyo jaahu tahaa sun maanat bhayo tih moondd muddaayo |His wife said, “You go to your friend,” the Brahmin agreed after getting his head shaved,
ਤੰਦੁਲ ਲੈ ਦਿਜ ਦਾਰਦੀ ਹਾਥਿ ਸੁ ਦੁਆਰਵਤੀ ਹੂ ਕੀ ਓਰਿ ਸਿਧਾਯੋ ॥੨੪੦੫॥
tandul lai dij daaradee haath su duaaravatee hoo kee or sidhaayo |2405|That poor man took a small quantity of rice and started towards Dwarka/2405.

ਹਉ ਅਰੁ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਸੰਦੀਪਨ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਬੀਚ ਪੜੇ ਹਿਤ ਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਕਰਿ ॥
hau ar sayaam sandeepan ke greh beech parre hit hai at hee kar |Krishna Sandipan and I were very fond of each other while studying at Guru's house.
ਹਉ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਧਰਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਰਹਿਓ ਰਹੈ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹੈ ਸੁ ਸ੍ਯਾਮਹਿ ਮੋ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਧਰਿ ॥
hau chit mai dhar sayaam rahio rahai hvai hai su sayaameh mo chit mai dhar |I and Krishna have been studying together with out teacher Sandipan, when I remember Krishna, then he may also be remembering me
