ਦੇਹ ਭੂਪ ਕੀ ਠੌਰ ਜਰਾਵਹੁ ॥
deh bhoop kee tthauar jaraavahu |(Now) burn the (old) body of the king here
ਯਾ ਕੇ ਸਿਰ ਪਰ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਫਿਰਾਵਹੁ ॥੧੩॥
yaa ke sir par chhatr firaavahu |13|And swing the royal umbrella over this (man's) head. 13.
ਇਹ ਛਲ ਸਾਥ ਜੋਗਿਯਨ ਘਾਯੋ ॥
eih chhal saath jogiyan ghaayo |With this trick (he) killed the Jogis
ਭੂਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਸੁਰ ਲੋਕ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥
bhoopat ko sur lok patthaayo |and sent the king to heaven.
ਸਕਲ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਕੋ ਲੋਥਿ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥
sakal prajaa ko loth dikhaaee |(The king's) loth was shown to all the people
ਦੇਸ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੀ ਫੇਰਿ ਦੁਹਾਈ ॥੧੪॥
des mitr kee fer duhaaee |14|And the cry of a friend in the country. 14.
ਭੇਵ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਨ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥
bhev prajaa kinahoon na pachhaanaa |The people did not understand the difference in any way
ਕਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਹਨਾ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਰਾਨਾ ॥
kih bidh hanaa hamaaraa raanaa |How is our king killed?
ਕਿਹ ਛਲ ਸੋ ਜੁਗਿਯਨ ਕੋ ਘਾਯੋ ॥
kih chhal so jugiyan ko ghaayo |By what trick have the Jogis been eliminated
ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੀਸ ਪਰ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਫਿਰਾਯੋ ॥੧੫॥
mitr sees par chhatr firaayo |15|And (how) the umbrella is swung over Mitra's head? 15

doharaa |dual:
ਗਰਬੀ ਰਾਇ ਸੁ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੋ ਦਿਯਾ ਆਪਨਾ ਰਾਜ ॥
garabee raae su mitr ko diyaa aapanaa raaj |(He) gave his kingdom to his friend Garbi Rai.
ਜੋਗਨ ਜੁਤ ਰਾਜਾ ਹਨਾ ਕਿਯਾ ਆਪਨਾ ਕਾਜ ॥੧੬॥
jogan jut raajaa hanaa kiyaa aapanaa kaaj |16|He killed the king along with the Jogis and took care of his work. 16.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਤੀਨ ਸੌ ਅਠਾਸੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੩੮੮॥੬੯੩੯॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥

ਭੂਪ ਸੁਬਾਹੁ ਸੈਨ ਇਕ ਸੁਨਾ ॥
bhoop subaahu sain ik sunaa |A king named Subahu Sen used to listen
ਰੂਪਵਾਨ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਬਹੁ ਗੁਨਾ ॥
roopavaan sundar bahu gunaa |Who was very handsome, beautiful and virtuous.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸੁਬਾਹਪੁਰ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਸੋਹੈ ॥
sree subaahapur taa ko sohai |His Subahupur (town) was beautiful
ਜਿਹ ਸਮ ਔਰ ਨਗਰ ਨਹਿ ਕੋ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
jih sam aauar nagar neh ko hai |1|There was no other city like it. 1.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਕਰਧੁਜ ਦੇ ਤਿਹ ਰਾਨੀ ॥
sree makaradhuj de tih raanee |Makardhuj's (goddess) was his queen,
ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਮੌ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
sundar des des mau jaanee |Which was considered beautiful in the countryside.
ਤਿਹ ਸਮਾਨ ਨਾਰੀ ਨਹਿ ਕੋਊ ॥
tih samaan naaree neh koaoo |There was no other woman like her.
ਪਾਛੇ ਭਈ ਨ ਆਗੈ ਹੋਊ ॥੨॥
paachhe bhee na aagai hoaoo |2|It has not happened before and will not happen again. 2.
ਤਿਨ ਦੇਖਾ ਦਿਲੀ ਕੋ ਏਸਾ ॥
tin dekhaa dilee ko esaa |He saw the king of Delhi
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਤੇ ਲਿਖਿ ਪਠਿਯੋ ਸੰਦੇਸਾ ॥
eih bidh te likh patthiyo sandesaa |And thus sent the message in writing.
ਤੁਮ ਇਹ ਠੌਰ ਆਪੁ ਚੜਿ ਆਵਹੁ ॥
tum ih tthauar aap charr aavahu |You climb to this place yourself
ਭੂਪਤਿ ਜੀਤਿ ਮੁਝੈ ਲੈ ਜਾਵਹੁ ॥੩॥
bhoopat jeet mujhai lai jaavahu |3|And win the king and take me. 3.
ਅਕਬਰ ਸੁਨਤ ਬੈਨ ਉਠਿ ਧਯੋ ॥
akabar sunat bain utth dhayo |Akbar (King) got up after hearing this
ਪਵਨ ਹੁਤੇ ਆਗੇ ਬਢਿ ਗਯੋ ॥
pavan hute aage badt gayo |And moved forward with the speed of the wind.
ਸਾਹ ਸੁਨਾ ਆਯੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪੁ ਜਬ ਹੀ ॥
saah sunaa aayo nrip jab hee |When the king heard (of the coming of the king),
ਪਤਿ ਸੌ ਬਚਨ ਬਖਾਨਾ ਤਬ ਹੀ ॥੪॥
pat sau bachan bakhaanaa tab hee |4|Then (the queen) said to her husband. 4.
ਤੁਮ ਹ੍ਯਾਂ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਭਾਜਿ ਨ ਜੈਯਹੁ ॥
tum hayaan te nrip bhaaj na jaiyahu |O Rajan! Don't run away from here.
ਰਨ ਸਾਮੁਹਿ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਜੁਧ ਮਚੈਯਹੁ ॥
ran saamuhi hvai judh machaiyahu |Waging war in front of the battlefield.
ਮੈ ਨ ਤਜੌਗੀ ਤੁਮਰਾ ਸਾਥਾ ॥
mai na tajauagee tumaraa saathaa |I will not leave you.
ਮਰੇ ਜਰੋਗੀ ਤੁਮ ਸੌ ਨਾਥਾ ॥੫॥
mare jarogee tum sau naathaa |5|O Nath! If you die, I will burn with you. 5.
ਇਤ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਕਹ ਧੀਰ ਬੰਧਾਯੋ ॥
eit bhoopat kah dheer bandhaayo |Here the king was patient
ਉਤੈ ਲਿਖਾ ਲਿਖਿ ਤਹਾ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥
autai likhaa likh tahaa patthaayo |And sent the letter ('written') there.
ਆਈ ਸੈਨ ਸਾਹ ਕੀ ਜਬ ਹੀ ॥
aaee sain saah kee jab hee |When the king's army arrived,
ਰਹਾ ਉਪਾਇ ਕਛੂ ਨਹਿ ਤਬ ਹੀ ॥੬॥
rahaa upaae kachhoo neh tab hee |6|Then there is no solution left. 6.
ਰਾਜਾ ਜੂਝਿ ਮਰਤ ਭਯੋ ਜਬੈ ॥
raajaa joojh marat bhayo jabai |When the king died fighting,
ਭਾਜ ਚਲਤ ਭੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਤਬੈ ॥
bhaaj chalat bhee parajaa tabai |Then the people fled.
ਰਾਨੀ ਬਾਧਿ ਤਬੈ ਤਿਨ ਲਈ ॥
raanee baadh tabai tin lee |Then the king tied the queen.
ਇਹ ਛਲ ਧਾਮ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਗਈ ॥੭॥
eih chhal dhaam mitr ke gee |7|With this trick, she went to Mitra's house.7.

baahuleek suniyat raajaa jah |The king who used to listen to the name Bahulik.
ਜਿਹ ਸਮਾਨ ਕੋਈ ਭਯੋ ਦੁਤਿਯ ਨਹ ॥
jih samaan koee bhayo dutiy nah |There was no other like him.
ਧਾਮ ਗੌਹਰਾ ਰਾਇ ਦੁਲਾਰੀ ॥
dhaam gauaharaa raae dulaaree |(His) family had a daughter named Gauhara Rai
