ਸੁਨੋ ਮੀਤ ਤੁਮ ਬਾਤ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥
suno meet tum baat hamaaree |O friend! listen to me. (When you will be introduced to the king)
ਸੋਨਾ ਬੋਵਤ ਮੁਹਿ ਤੁਮ ਕਹਿਯਹੁ ॥
sonaa bovat muhi tum kahiyahu |Say that you are (showing) me by sowing gold.
ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਨੈਨ ਨੀਚ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਿਯਹੁ ॥੯॥
yau keh nain neech kar rahiyahu |9|Saying this, I lowered my head. 9.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਪਹਿ ਬਾਧ ਤਾਹਿ ਲੈ ਗਏ ॥
nrip peh baadh taeh lai ge |He was tied and taken to the king.
ਤੇ ਵੈ ਬੈਨ ਬਖਾਨਤ ਭਏ ॥
te vai bain bakhaanat bhe |He said the same thing there.
ਏਕ ਬਾਤ ਮੈ ਤੁਮੈ ਦਿਖਾਊ ॥
ek baat mai tumai dikhaaoo |If I show you one thing, tell me.
ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਕਹੋ ਕਹਾ ਤਬ ਪਾਊਾਂ ॥੧੦॥
tum te kaho kahaa tab paaooaan |10|What will I get from you? 10.
ਜਾ ਪੈ ਬੈਠੇ ਮੁਹਿ ਗਹਿ ਆਨੋ ॥
jaa pai baitthe muhi geh aano |From where you caught me sitting,
ਉਨ ਮੋ ਸੋ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਖਾਨੋ ॥
aun mo so ih bhaat bakhaano |He told me like this.
ਜੌ ਮੈ ਕੰਚਨ ਬੀਜਿ ਦਿਖਾਊ ॥
jau mai kanchan beej dikhaaoo |If I sow gold and show it,
ਤਬ ਮੈ ਕਹੋ ਕਹਾ ਬਰ ਪਾਊ ॥੧੧॥
tab mai kaho kahaa bar paaoo |11|Tell me, then what will I get. 11.
ਜਦ ਯੌ ਬਚਨ ਰਾਵ ਸੁਨਿ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
jad yau bachan raav sun paayo |When the king heard these words
ਦਰਪ ਕਲਾ ਕੌ ਬੋਲਿ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥
darap kalaa kau bol patthaayo |So called Darap Kala.
ਤਾ ਕੋ ਏਕ ਧਾਮ ਮੈ ਰਾਖਿਯੋ ॥
taa ko ek dhaam mai raakhiyo |He (the person) was kept in a palace
ਕੰਚਨ ਕੇ ਬੀਜਨ ਕਹ ਭਾਖਿਯੋ ॥੧੨॥
kanchan ke beejan kah bhaakhiyo |12|And asked to sow gold. 12.
ਮੋਹਿ ਇਹ ਏਕ ਸਦਨ ਮੈ ਰਾਖੋ ॥
mohi ih ek sadan mai raakho |Keep me and it in one house
ਭਲੀ ਬੁਰੀ ਕਛੁ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਭਾਖੋ ॥
bhalee buree kachh baat na bhaakho |And don't say anything bad or good.
ਜਬ ਮੈ ਮਾਸ ਇਕਾਦਸ ਲਹਿਹੌ ॥
jab mai maas ikaadas lahihau |When eleven months will pass
ਤੁਮ ਸੌ ਆਇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਹਿਹੌ ॥੧੩॥
tum sau aae aap hee kahihau |13|Then I will come and tell you myself. 13.
ਜਬ ਵੈ ਦੋਊ ਏਕ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
jab vai doaoo ek grih raakhai |When both of them were kept in a house
ਤਬ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਯੌ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਬਚ ਭਾਖੈ ॥
tab triy yau taa sau bach bhaakhai |So the woman said to her friend,
ਮੋ ਸੌ ਭੋਗ ਮੀਤ ਅਬ ਕਰਿਯੈ ॥
mo sau bhog meet ab kariyai |O friend! Indulge me now
ਯਾ ਚਿੰਤ ਤੇ ਨੈਕੁ ਨ ਡਰਿਯੈ ॥੧੪॥
yaa chint te naik na ddariyai |14|And do not be afraid of such anxiety. 14.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਪਕਰਿ ਮੀਤ ਕੋ ਆਪਨੇ ਊਪਰ ਲਯੇ ਚਰਾਇ ॥
pakar meet ko aapane aoopar laye charaae |He grabbed his friend and lifted him on top of him.
ਤਾ ਸੌ ਰਤਿ ਮਾਨਤ ਭਈ ਲਪਟਿ ਲਪਟਿ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇ ॥੧੫॥
taa sau rat maanat bhee lapatt lapatt sukh paae |15|She kept playing with him happily. 15.
ਕਾਲਿ ਕਿਨੀ ਜਾਨ੍ਯੋ ਨਹੀ ਆਜੁ ਰਮੌ ਤਵ ਸੰਗ ॥
kaal kinee jaanayo nahee aaj ramau tav sang |No one has known tomorrow, today I will make love with you.
ਲਾਜ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੀ ਕਰੋ ਮੋ ਤਨ ਬਢਿਯੋ ਅਨੰਗ ॥੧੬॥
laaj na kaahoo kee karo mo tan badtiyo anang |16|Don't be ashamed of anyone, the desire in my body has increased a lot. 16.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥

ਦਸ ਮਾਸਨ ਰਤਿ ਕਰੀ ਹਰਖ ਉਪਜਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
das maasan rat karee harakh upajaae kai |He played the sport for ten months with joy
ਆਸਨ ਚੁੰਬਨ ਅਨਿਕ ਕਿਯੇ ਲਪਟਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
aasan chunban anik kiye lapattaae kai |And embraced and made many postures and kisses.
ਜਬ ਗਿਯਾਰਵੋ ਮਾਸ ਪਹੂਚ੍ਯੌ ਆਇ ਕਰਿ ॥
jab giyaaravo maas pahoochayau aae kar |When the eleventh month arrived
ਹੋ ਦਰਪ ਕਲਾ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਸੌ ਜਾਇ ਕਰਿ ॥੧੭॥
ho darap kalaa kahiyo nripat sau jaae kar |17|So Darap Kala went to the king and said. 17.
ਕੰਚਨ ਬੋਵਨ ਸਮੈ ਪਹੂਚ੍ਯੋ ਆਇ ਕੈ ॥
kanchan bovan samai pahoochayo aae kai |The time has come to sow gold.
ਸਭ ਰਾਨੀ ਜੁਤ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੌ ਲਿਯੋ ਬੁਲਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
sabh raanee jut nrip kau liyo bulaae kai |(He) called the king with all the queens.
ਪੁਰ ਬਾਸੀ ਜਨ ਸਭੇ ਤਮਾਸਾ ਕੌ ਗਏ ॥
pur baasee jan sabhe tamaasaa kau ge |All the townspeople also came to see the spectacle
ਹੋ ਜਹ ਅਸਥਿਤ ਵਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਤਹਾ ਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਭੇ ॥੧੮॥
ho jah asathit vah triyaa tahaa hee jaat bhe |18|And they reached where that woman was sitting. 18.
ਜੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਪੁਰਖ ਨ ਬਿਨਸਿਯੋ ਤਾਹਿ ਬੁਲਾਇਯੈ ॥
jo triy purakh na binasiyo taeh bulaaeiyai |Call the woman or man who has not fallen (from religion).
ਵਾ ਕੈ ਕਰ ਦੈ ਹ੍ਯਾਂ ਕਲਧੌਤ ਬਿਜਾਇਯੈ ॥
vaa kai kar dai hayaan kaladhauat bijaaeiyai |Sow gold here from his hand.
ਜੋ ਬਿਨਸਿਯੋ ਨਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਇਹ ਹਾਥ ਛੁਵਾਇ ਹੈ ॥
jo binasiyo nar triy ih haath chhuvaae hai |If any corrupt man or woman shall touch it,
ਹੋ ਉਗੈ ਨ ਕੰਚਨ ਨੈਕ ਦੋਸ ਮੁਹਿ ਆਇ ਹੈ ॥੧੯॥
ho ugai na kanchan naik dos muhi aae hai |19|Then the gold will not be produced at all and I will be blamed. 19.
ਤਬ ਰਾਜੈ ਸਭਹਿਨ ਯੌ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੁਨਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
tab raajai sabhahin yau kahiyo sunaae kai |Then the king told everyone and said,
ਜੋ ਬਿਨਸਿਯੋ ਨਹਿ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਬੀਜਹੁ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
jo binasiyo neh hoe su beejahu jaae kai |He who is not corrupted, let him go and sow gold.
ਸੁਨਤ ਬਚਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਨਰ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਚਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਭਏ ॥
sunat bachan triy nar sabh hee chakrit bhe |All the men and women were surprised to hear the talk
ਹੋ ਸੋਨੋ ਬੀਜਨ ਕਾਜ ਨ ਤਿਤ ਕੌ ਜਾਤ ਭੇ ॥੨੦॥
ho sono beejan kaaj na tith kau jaat bhe |20|And no one went there to sow gold. 20.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਦਰਪ ਕਲਾ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰੀ ॥
darap kalaa ih bhaat uchaaree |Darap Kala said thus
ਜੋ ਰਾਜਾ ਸਭ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਤੁਹਾਰੀ ॥
jo raajaa sabh triyaa tuhaaree |That O king! which are all your wives.
