ਬਹੁਤ ਦਰਬ ਤਾ ਕਹ ਤਿਨ ਦੀਨਾ ॥
bahut darab taa kah tin deenaa |The queen gave him a lot of money
ਤਾ ਕੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਚਿਤ ਕਹ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
taa ke mohi chit kah leenaa |And captivated his mind.
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੌ ਤਿਹ ਭੇਵ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਯੋ ॥
eih bidh sau tih bhev drirraayo |She (the queen) thus confirmed the secret
ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਨ ਕੋ ਤਿਹ ਭੇਸ ਧਰਾਯੋ ॥੬॥
braahaman ko tih bhes dharaayo |6|And disguised him as a Brahmin. 6.
ਆਪ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਸੰਗ ਕੀਯਾ ਗਿਆਨਾ ॥
aap nripat sang keeyaa giaanaa |(He) discussed knowledge with the king himself
ਕਿਯ ਉਪਦੇਸ ਪਤਿਹਿ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਾਨਾ ॥
kiy upades patihi bidh naanaa |And instructed the husband in many ways.
ਜੈਸੋ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾਨ ਜਗ ਦ੍ਰਯਾਵੈ ॥
jaiso purakh daan jag drayaavai |The kind of charity that a man gives in the world,
ਤੈਸੋ ਹੀ ਆਗੇ ਬਰੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੭॥
taiso hee aage bar paavai |7|In the same way, he gets further boon. 7.
ਮੈ ਤੁਹਿ ਬਾਰ ਦਾਨ ਬਹੁ ਕੀਨਾ ॥
mai tuhi baar daan bahu keenaa |I had donated many times for you,
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਪਤਿ ਤੋ ਸੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
taa te pat to so nrip leenaa |Only then has a king like you been obtained as a husband.
ਤੁਮਹੌ ਪੁੰਨਿ ਬਾਰ ਬਹੁ ਕੀਨੀ ॥
tumahau pun baar bahu keenee |You too had done a lot of good deeds,
ਤਬ ਮੋ ਸੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਤਿਯ ਲੀਨੀ ॥੮॥
tab mo see sundar tiy leenee |8|Only then have you got a beautiful woman like me.8.
ਅਬ ਜੌ ਪੁੰਨ੍ਯ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਕਰਿ ਹੋ ॥
ab jau punay bahur muhi kar ho |Now if you will donate to me,
ਮੋ ਸੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਆਗੇ ਪੁਨਿ ਬਰਿ ਹੋ ॥
mo see triy aage pun bar ho |So go ahead and get a woman like me.
ਧਰਮ ਕਰਤ ਕਛੁ ਢੀਲ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
dharam karat kachh dteel na keejai |One should not slack off in doing religious work
ਦਿਜ ਕੌ ਦੈ ਜਗ ਮੌ ਜਸੁ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੯॥
dij kau dai jag mau jas leejai |9|And one should take Jas in the world by donating to the Brahman. 9.
ਇਹ ਸੁਨਿਯੌ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਆਈ ॥
eih suniyau nrip ke man aaee |Hearing this, the king told the woman
ਪੁੰਨ੍ਯ ਕਰਨ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਠਹਰਾਈ ॥
punay karan isatree tthaharaaee |Made up my mind to donate.
ਜੋ ਰਾਨੀ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਭਾਯੋ ॥
jo raanee ke man meh bhaayo |What was good in the mind of the queen,
ਵਹੈ ਜਾਨਿ ਦਿਜ ਬੋਲਿ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥੧੦॥
vahai jaan dij bol patthaayo |10|Knowing the same, (the king) called the Brahmin. 10.
ਤਾ ਕਹ ਨਾਰਿ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ॥
taa kah naar daan kar deenee |Gave him a wife
ਮੂੜ ਭੇਦ ਕੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਨ ਚੀਨੀ ॥
moorr bhed kee kriyaa na cheenee |And the fool did not understand the act of bhed.
ਸੋ ਲੈ ਜਾਤ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਕਹ ਭਯੋ ॥
so lai jaat tarun kah bhayo |He (the Brahmin) went away with the woman
ਮੂੰਡਿ ਮੂੰਡਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਕੋ ਗਯੋ ॥੧੧॥
moondd moondd moorakh ko gayo |11|And the head of the fool (king) was shaved well, i.e. it was shaved off. 11.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਦੋਇ ਸੌ ਬਹਤਰਿ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੨੭੨॥੫੨੭੯॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥
eit sree charitr pakhayaano triyaa charitre mantree bhoop sanbaade doe sau bahatar charitr samaapatam sat subham sat |272|5279|afajoon|Here ends the 272nd charitra of Mantri Bhup Sambad of Tria Charitra of Sri Charitropakhyan, all is auspicious. 272.5279. goes on

ਸੁਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਸੈਨ ਇਕ ਸੁਨਾ ਨਰੇਸਾ ॥
sukrit sain ik sunaa naresaa |A king named Sukrit Sen had heard,
ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਡੰਡ ਭਰਤ ਸਭ ਦੇਸਾ ॥
jih ko ddandd bharat sabh desaa |For which all the countries used to pay the penalty (meaning accept submission).
ਸੁਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਮੰਜਰੀ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਦਾਰਾ ॥
sukrit manjaree tih kee daaraa |Sukrit Manjari was his wife.
ਜਾ ਸਮ ਦੇਵ ਨ ਦੇਵ ਕੁਮਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
jaa sam dev na dev kumaaraa |1|There was neither a god-woman nor a goddess like her. 1.
ਅਤਿਭੁਤ ਸੈਨ ਸਾਹੁ ਸੁਤ ਇਕ ਤਹ ॥
atibhut sain saahu sut ik tah |There was a king's son named Atibhut Sen
ਜਾ ਸਮ ਦੁਤਿਯ ਨ ਉਪਜ੍ਯੋ ਮਹਿ ਮਹ ॥
jaa sam dutiy na upajayo meh mah |No one else like him was born on earth.
ਜਗਮਗਾਤ ਤਿਹ ਰੂਪ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
jagamagaat tih roop apaaraa |His immense form was very bright.
ਜਿਹ ਸਮ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਨ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੁਮਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
jih sam indr na chandr kumaaraa |2|There was neither Indra nor Chandra like that Kumar. 2.
ਰਾਨੀ ਅਟਕਿ ਤਵਨ ਪਰ ਗਈ ॥
raanee attak tavan par gee |The queen became enamored of him (seeing his beauty).
ਤਿਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਜਾਤਿ ਆਪਿ ਚਲਿ ਭਈ ॥
tih grih jaat aap chal bhee |And went to his house herself.
ਤਾ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਪਟ ਤਜਿ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
taa so preet kapatt taj laagee |He fell in love with her.
ਛੂਟੋ ਕਹਾ ਅਨੋਖੀ ਜਾਗੀ ॥੩॥
chhootto kahaa anokhee jaagee |3|Where did (that) unique (preet) move when awake. 3.
ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਤਿਨ ਸੰਗ ਭੋਗ ਕਮਾਨਾ ॥
bahu bidh tin sang bhog kamaanaa |He (the queen) was very friendly.
ਕੇਲ ਕਰਤ ਬਹੁ ਕਾਲ ਬਿਹਾਨਾ ॥
kel karat bahu kaal bihaanaa |A lot of time has passed since we worked together.
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਔਰ ਤਹਾ ਇਕ ਆਯੋ ॥
sundar aauar tahaa ik aayo |Another handsome person came there.
ਵਹੈ ਪੁਰਖ ਰਾਨੀ ਕਹਲਾਯੋ ॥੪॥
vahai purakh raanee kahalaayo |4|The queen also invited that man. 4.
ਵਹੈ ਪੁਰਖ ਰਾਨੀ ਕਹ ਭਾਇਸਿ ॥
vahai purakh raanee kah bhaaeis |Rani also liked that man.
ਕਾਮ ਕੇਲ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਬੋਲਿ ਕਮਾਇਸਿ ॥
kaam kel grih bol kamaaeis |Called her home and had sexual intercourse.
ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਤਿਹ ਠਾ ਤਬ ਆਯੋ ॥
pratham mitr tih tthaa tab aayo |Then the first friend also came to that place.
ਰਮਤ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਰਾਨੀ ਕੁਰਰਾਯੋ ॥੫॥
ramat nirakh raanee kuraraayo |5|Seeing the queen enjoying (with him), he grumbled with anger.5.
ਅਧਿਕ ਕੋਪ ਕਰਿ ਖੜਗੁ ਨਿਕਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
adhik kop kar kharrag nikaariyo |Being very angry, he drew his sword
ਰਾਨੀ ਰਾਖਿ ਜਾਰ ਕਹ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
raanee raakh jaar kah maariyo |And saved the queen and killed the fellow.
