ਯੌ ਖੜਗੇਸ ਰਹਿਓ ਥਿਰੁ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਜਿਮ ਪਉਨ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਹਲੇ ਕਨਕਾਚਲੁ ॥
yau kharrages rahio thir hvai jim paun lagai na hale kanakaachal |Kharag Singh remained stable like the Sumeru mountain hit by the blows of wind
ਤਾ ਪੈ ਬਸਾਵਤੁ ਹੈ ਨ ਕਛੁ ਸਬ ਹੀ ਜਦੁ ਬੀਰਨ ਕੋ ਘਟਿ ਗਯੋ ਬਲੁ ॥੧੪੨੨॥
taa pai basaavat hai na kachh sab hee jad beeran ko ghatt gayo bal |1422|There was no impact on him, but the strength of Yadavas began to decrease.1422.
ਕੋਪ ਕੀਯੋ ਧਨੁ ਲੈ ਕਰ ਮੈ ਜੁਗ ਭੂਪਨ ਕੀ ਬਹੁ ਸੈਨ ਹਨੀ ਹੈ ॥
kop keeyo dhan lai kar mai jug bhoopan kee bahu sain hanee hai |In his fury, Kharag Singh destroyed a good deal of army of both the kings
ਬਾਜ ਘਨੇ ਰਥਪਤਿ ਕਰੀ ਅਨੀ ਜੋ ਬਿਧਿ ਤੇ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਗਨੀ ਹੈ ॥
baaj ghane rathapat karee anee jo bidh te nahee jaat ganee hai |He destroyed many horses, chariots etc.
ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਲਖ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਭਨੀ ਹੈ ॥
taa chhab kee upamaa man mai lakh ke mukh te kab sayaam bhanee hai |Poet Shyam has said (like this) from the face after thinking about the simile of that image.
ਜੁਧ ਕੀ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਮਨੋ ਰਸ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਖੇਲ ਕੋ ਠਉਰ ਬਨੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੪੨੩॥
judh kee tthaur na hoe mano ras rudr ke khel ko tthaur banee hai |1423|The poet says that battlefield instead of looking like a field of battle, seemed like a place of the sport of Rudra (Shiva).1423.
ਲੈ ਧਨੁ ਬਾਨ ਧਸਿਓ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਕੋਪ ਬਢਿਓ ॥
lai dhan baan dhasio ran mai tih ke man mai at kop badtio |(Kharag Singh) has plunged into the battlefield with a bow and arrow and his anger has increased greatly.
ਜੁ ਹੁਤੋ ਦਲ ਬੈਰਨ ਕੋ ਸਬ ਹੀ ਰਿਸ ਤੇਜ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਛ ਡਢਿਓ ॥
ju huto dal bairan ko sab hee ris tej ke sang pratachh ddadtio |Getting enraged in his mind, he penetrated into the army of the enemy and from the other side the enemy’s army became very violent
ਅਰਿ ਸੈਨ ਕੋ ਨਾਸ ਕੀਓ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਜਸੁ ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਪਢਿਓ ॥
ar sain ko naas keeo chhin mai jas taa chhab ko kab sayaam padtio |(He) has destroyed the enemy's army in a single stroke. That image has been read by the poet Shyam (Eng.),
ਤਮ ਜਿਉ ਡਰ ਕੇ ਅਰਿ ਭਾਜਿ ਗਏ ਇਹ ਸੂਰ ਨਹੀ ਮਾਨੋ ਸੂਰ ਚਢਿਓ ॥੧੪੨੪॥
tam jiau ddar ke ar bhaaj ge ih soor nahee maano soor chadtio |1424|Kharag Singh destroyed the enemy’s army which fled away just as the darkness flies away fearing the sun.1424.
ਕੋਪਿ ਝਝਾਝੜ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਬੈ ਅਸਿ ਤੀਛਨ ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਓ ॥
kop jhajhaajharr singh tabai as teechhan lai kar taeh prahaario |Then Jharajhar Singh got angry and attacked him (Kharag Singh) with a sharp sword in his hand.
ਭੂਪ ਛਿਨਾਇ ਲੀਯੋ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਬਰ ਕੈ ਅਰਿ ਕੇ ਤਨ ਊਪਰਿ ਝਾਰਿਓ ॥
bhoop chhinaae leeyo kar te bar kai ar ke tan aoopar jhaario |Then Jharajhar Singh, getting infuriated, taking his sword in his hand struck a blow on Kharag Singh, which was snatched away from his hand
ਲਾਗਤ ਹੀ ਕਟਿ ਮੂੰਡ ਗਿਰਿਓ ਧਰਿ ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੋ ਕਬਿ ਭਾਉ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਓ ॥
laagat hee katt moondd girio dhar taa chhab ko kab bhaau nihaario |He struck the same sword on the enemy’s body, by which his trunk was cut down and it fell on the earth
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਈਸ੍ਵਰ ਕੋਪ ਭਯੋ ਸਿਰ ਪੂਤ ਕੋ ਕਾਟਿ ਜੁਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਡਾਰਿਓ ॥੧੪੨੫॥
maanahu eesvar kop bhayo sir poot ko kaatt judaa kar ddaario |1425|According toe the poet it appeared that Shiva in great anger had cut down and thrown the head of Ganesha.1425.
ਬੀਰ ਹਨਿਓ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਤਬ ਦੂਸਰ ਕੇ ਮਨਿ ਕੋਪ ਛਯੋ ॥
beer hanio jab hee ran mai tab doosar ke man kop chhayo |When this warrior was killed, then the second (Jujhan Singh) got infuriated in his mind
ਸੁ ਧਵਾਇ ਕੈ ਸ੍ਯੰਦਨ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੀ ਓਰ ਗਯੋ ਅਸਿ ਤੀਛਨ ਪਾਨਿ ਲਯੋ ॥
su dhavaae kai sayandan taahee kee or gayo as teechhan paan layo |He caused his chariot to be driven and immediately taking his sword in his hand, went towards him (Kharag Singh)
ਤਬ ਭੂਪ ਸਰਾਸਨੁ ਬਾਨ ਲਯੋ ਅਰਿ ਕੋ ਅਸਿ ਮੂਠ ਤੇ ਕਾਟਿ ਦਯੋ ॥
tab bhoop saraasan baan layo ar ko as mootth te kaatt dayo |Then the king (Kharag Singh) took the bow and arrow (in hand) and cut off the enemy's sword from the hilt,
ਮਾਨੋ ਜੀਹ ਨਿਕਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਧਾਇਓ ਹੁਤੋ ਜਮੁ ਜੀਭ ਕਟੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਆਸ ਭਯੋ ॥੧੪੨੬॥
maano jeeh nikaar kai dhaaeio huto jam jeebh kattee bin aas bhayo |1426|Then the king also chopped off his head with his bow and arrows and he appeared like the one going forward greedily moving his tongue, but on account of the cutting away of his tongue, his hopes of getting relish had ended.1426.

ਜਬ ਹੀ ਕਰਿ ਕੋ ਅਸਿ ਕਾਟਿ ਦਯੋ ਭਟ ਜੇਊ ਭਜੇ ਹੁਤੇ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਧਾਏ ॥
jab hee kar ko as kaatt dayo bhatt jeaoo bhaje hute te sabh dhaae |When he chopped the warrior huge like elephant with his sword, then all other warriors who were there, fell upon him
ਆਯੁਧ ਲੈ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਚਿਤ ਬਿਖੈ ਅਤਿ ਕੋਪੁ ਬਢਾਏ ॥
aayudh lai apune apune kar chit bikhai at kop badtaae |They had got enraged taking their weapons in their hands
ਬੀਰ ਬਨੈਤ ਬਨੇ ਸਿਗਰੇ ਤਿਮ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਬੀਸਰ ਗਾਏ ॥
beer banait bane sigare tim ke gun sayaam kabeesar gaae |Poet Shyam sings the praises of all those soldiers standing (with arms) like this,
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਭੂਪ ਸੁਅੰਬਰ ਜੁਧੁ ਰਚਿਓ ਭਟ ਏਨ ਬਡੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਆਏ ॥੧੪੨੭॥
maanahu bhoop suanbar judh rachio bhatt en badde nrip aae |1427|They were the praiseworthy warriors and appeared to have gathered as other kings gathered in the ceremony of swayamvara performed by a king.1427.
