ਚੜੇ ਤੇਜ ਮਾਣੰ ॥
charre tej maanan |Holding the Shakti (his power) in his hands the supremely glorious Shiva,
ਗਣੰ ਗਾੜ ਗਾਜੇ ॥
ganan gaarr gaaje |(In the battlefield) the hail was thundering
ਰਣੰ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਰਾਜੇ ॥੨੮॥
ranan rudr raaje |28|Thundering dreadfully, is absorbed in war, and is looking impressive.28.
ਭਭੰਕੰਤ ਘਾਯੰ ॥
bhabhankant ghaayan |(Blood was gushing from (their) wounds
ਲਰੇ ਚਉਪ ਚਾਯੰ ॥
lare chaup chaayan |The blood is oozing out of the wounds and all the fighters are fighting with enthusiasm.
ਡਕੀ ਡਾਕਣੀਯੰ ॥
ddakee ddaakaneeyan |The postmen were belching (drinking blood).
ਰੜੈ ਕਾਕਣੀਯੰ ॥੨੯॥
rarrai kaakaneeyan |29|The vampires are pleased and the horses etc, are rolling in dust.29.
ਭਯੰ ਰੋਸ ਰੁਦ੍ਰੰ ॥
bhayan ros rudran |Rudra got angry and
ਹਣੈ ਦੈਤ ਛੁਦ੍ਰੰ ॥
hanai dait chhudran |Rudra, in great fury, hath destroyed the demons,
ਕਟੇ ਅਧੁ ਅਧੰ ॥
katte adh adhan |(They were cut in half by Rudra).
ਭਈ ਸੈਣ ਬਧੰ ॥੩੦॥
bhee sain badhan |30|And hath chopped their bodies into bits and killed the army.30.
ਰਿਸਿਯੋ ਸੂਲ ਪਾਣੰ ॥
risiyo sool paanan |Shiva got very angry
ਹਣੈ ਦੈਤ ਭਾਣੰ ॥
hanai dait bhaanan |Shiva, the holder of the trident, is in extreme anger and he hath destroyed the demons.
ਸਰੰ ਓਘ ਛੁਟੇ ॥
saran ogh chhutte |The arrows were (thus) fired
ਘਣੰ ਜੇਮ ਟੁਟੇ ॥੩੧॥
ghanan jem ttutte |31|The arrows are being showered like the raining clouds.31.
ਰਣੰ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਗਜੇ ॥
ranan rudr gaje |(When) Rudra roared in the wilderness
ਤਬੈ ਦੈਤ ਭਜੇ ॥
tabai dait bhaje |When Rudra thundered in the battlefield, then all the demons ran away.
ਤਜੈ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਰਬੰ ॥
tajai sasatr saraban |All (the giants) gave up their armor
ਮਿਟਿਓ ਦੇਹ ਗਰਬੰ ॥੩੨॥
mittio deh garaban |32|All of them abandoned their weapons and the pride of all was shattered.32.

ਧਾਯੋ ਤਬੈ ਅੰਧਕ ਬਲਵਾਨਾ ॥
dhaayo tabai andhak balavaanaa |Then taking with him various types of giant army
ਸੰਗ ਲੈ ਸੈਨ ਦਾਨਵੀ ਨਾਨਾ ॥
sang lai sain daanavee naanaa |At that time, the mighty Andhakasura, alongwith the army of demons sped towards the fornt.
ਅਮਿਤ ਬਾਣ ਨੰਦੀ ਕਹੁ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
amit baan nandee kahu maare |(He) shot innumerable arrows at the bull Nandi, the rider of Shiva
ਬੇਧਿ ਅੰਗ ਕਹ ਪਾਰ ਪਧਾਰੇ ॥੩੩॥
bedh ang kah paar padhaare |33|He discharged many arrows on Nandi, which penetrated through his limbs.33.
ਜਬ ਹੀ ਬਾਣ ਲਗੇ ਬਾਹਣ ਤਨਿ ॥
jab hee baan lage baahan tan |When Nandi pierced the bull's body with arrows,
ਰੋਸ ਜਗਿਯੋ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਸਿਵ ਕੇ ਮਨਿ ॥
ros jagiyo tab hee siv ke man |When the god Shiva saw the infliction of the arrows on his vehicle, then he became violently furious.
ਅਧਿਕ ਰੋਸ ਕਰਿ ਬਿਸਖ ਚਲਾਏ ॥
adhik ros kar bisakh chalaae |(He) got very angry and shot arrows
ਭੂਮਿ ਅਕਾਸਿ ਛਿਨਕ ਮਹਿ ਛਾਏ ॥੩੪॥
bhoom akaas chhinak meh chhaae |34|With great ire, he discharge his poisonous arrows, which spread over the earth and sky in an instant.34.
ਬਾਣਾਵਲੀ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਜਬ ਸਾਜੀ ॥
baanaavalee rudr jab saajee |When Shiva unleashed a flurry of arrows,
ਤਬ ਹੀ ਸੈਣ ਦਾਨਵੀ ਭਾਜੀ ॥
tab hee sain daanavee bhaajee |When Rudra shot his arrows, the army of demons sped away.
ਤਬ ਅੰਧਕ ਸਿਵ ਸਾਮੁਹੁ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
tab andhak siv saamuhu dhaayo |Then the blind demon (came) in front of Shiva
ਦੁੰਦ ਜੁਧੁ ਰਣ ਮਧਿ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥੩੫॥
dund judh ran madh machaayo |35|Then Andhakasura came in front of Shiva, a dreadful war ensured.35.

ਬੀਸ ਬਾਣ ਤਿਨ ਸਿਵਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ਕੋਪ ਕਰਿ ॥
bees baan tin siveh prahaare kop kar |He got angry and shot 20 arrows at Shiva.
ਲਗੇ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਗਾਤ ਗਏ ਓਹ ਘਾਨਿ ਕਰ ॥
lage rudr ke gaat ge oh ghaan kar |The demons, highly infuriated, discharged twenty arrows on Shiva, which struck the body of Shiva and wounded it.
ਗਹਿ ਪਿਨਾਕ ਕਹ ਪਾਣਿ ਪਿਨਾਕੀ ਧਾਇਓ ॥
geh pinaak kah paan pinaakee dhaaeio |(Go out to the other side) Shiva rushed (immediately) with Pinak Dhanush in hand
ਹੋ ਤੁਮੁਲ ਜੁਧੁ ਦੁਹੂੰਅਨ ਰਣ ਮਧਿ ਮਚਾਇਓ ॥੩੬॥
ho tumul judh duhoonan ran madh machaaeio |36|Shiva also ran forward, holding his bow in his hand and a fearful war began between them.36.
ਤਾੜਿ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਕਹ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਪਿਨਾਕੀ ਕੋਪੁ ਹੁਐ ॥
taarr satru kah bahur pinaakee kop huaai |Shiva got angry and reprimanded the enemy
ਹਣੈ ਦੁਸਟ ਕਹੁ ਬਾਣ ਨਿਖੰਗ ਤੇ ਕਾਢ ਦੁਐ ॥
hanai dusatt kahu baan nikhang te kaadt duaai |Then Shiva took out tow arrow from his quiver, and aiming them at the tyrant, he discharged them in great anger.
ਗਿਰਿਯੋ ਭੂਮਿ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
giriyo bhoom bheetar sir satru prahaariyo |The arrows struck the head of the enemy and he fell down on the earth
ਹੋ ਜਨਕੁ ਗਾਜ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਬੁਰਜ ਕਹੁ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੩੭॥
ho janak gaaj kar kop buraj kahu maariyo |37|He fell like a column falling flat on the ground having been hit by lightning.37.
ਤੋਟਕ ਛੰਦ ॥

ਘਟਿ ਏਕ ਬਿਖੈ ਰਿਪੁ ਚੇਤ ਭਯੋ ॥
ghatt ek bikhai rip chet bhayo |The blind giant became conscious in an instant
ਧਨੁ ਬਾਣ ਬਲੀ ਪੁਨਿ ਪਾਣਿ ਲਯੋ ॥
dhan baan balee pun paan layo |After one ghari (about 24 mintues), the enemy (Andhakasura) regained his senses and that mighty warrior again took bow and arrows in his hands.
ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਕਵੰਡ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਖ੍ਰਯੰ ॥
kar kop kavandd kare karakhrayan |Being angry (he) drew the bow with his hand
ਸਰ ਧਾਰ ਬਲੀ ਘਨ ਜਿਯੋ ਬਰਖ੍ਰਯੋ ॥੩੮॥
sar dhaar balee ghan jiyo barakhrayo |38|The bow was pulled in his hands in great anger and a volley of arrows was showered like rain.38.
ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਬਲੀ ਬਰਖ੍ਰਯੋ ਬਿਸਖੰ ॥
kar kop balee barakhrayo bisakhan |Enraged, the mighty demon started shooting arrows.
ਇਹ ਓਰ ਲਗੈ ਨਿਸਰੇ ਦੁਸਰੰ ॥
eih or lagai nisare dusaran |In great ire, that mighty warrior began to discharge and shower his distinctively powerful arrows, which struck on one side came out from the other side.
