And struck (Lachman) in the forehead
And (that) immediately
Lava, stretching his bow, discharge and arrow toward the enemy, which struck Lakshman on the forehead and he fell like a tree.770.
End of the chapter entitled ‘Killing of Lakshman’ in Ramvtar in BACHITTAR NATAK.
Now the narrative of Bharata's war
AROOHAA STANZA
The army fled in fear-
Making a sacrifice of Lakshman in the war, his army, being frightened fled away
Where Ram Chandra stood,
Te warriors reached the place where Ram was standing.771.
When he went and told them about the battle of Lachman
When all the events were related to him, he was in great anguish
Hearing (their) words, Sri Ram (thus) remained silent
Hearing their word the mighty sovereign remained silent like a portrait, becoming like a stone-slab.772.
(Sri Ram) then sat and pondered and said-
Then sitting down, he held consultations and addressing Bharat, he asked him to go, saying,
But not to kill those two wise children,
“Do not kill the boys of the sages, but bring them and show them to me.”773.
After equipping the army, Bharat went there
Bharat decorating his army marched to the place where the boys were standing ready (for war)
(They) used to kill the warriors in many ways
They were ready to kill the warriors by striking blows with many types of arrows.774.
(India) Sugriva, Vibhishana,
Alongwith Sugriva, Vibhishan, Hanuman, Angad, Jambvant,
By adding many types of army
And with their various types of forces, Bharat went forward towards the brave boys.775.
When Bharata went to the battlefield
When Bharat reached the battlefield, he saw both the boys of sages
???
Both boys looked impressive and both the gods and demons were allured on seeing them.776.
Speech of Bharat addressed to Lava :
AKRAA STANZA
O wise children! Leave the grub
“O boys of the sages! forsake your pride, come and meet me
(I will take you) to Ram Chandra,
“I shall dress you and take you to (Raghava) Ram.”777.
Hearing (Bharat's statement) the children were filled with pride
Hearing these words the boys were filled with pride and being enraged they pulled their bows
Arrows left in many ways,
They discharged many arrows like the clouds of the month of Sawan.778.
(Whose) body was pierced by arrows
Those, whom those arrows struck, fell down and overturned
Somewhere, the limbs of heroes are cut off,
Somewhere those arrows chopped the limbs and somewhere they penetrated through the fly-whisk and armour.779.
Somewhere beautifully carved bows (fallen),
Somewhere they created portraits on coming out of the beautiful bows and somewhere they pierced the limbs of the warriors
(Blood is gushing out from the cracks in the limbs).
Somewhere the wound of the limbs burst open and somewhere the stream of blood overflowed.780.
