ਨਚੀ ਡਾਕਿਣੀ ਜੋਗਨੀ ਉਰਧ ਹੇਤੰ ॥੪੮॥
nachee ddaakinee joganee uradh hetan |48|

The heroic sprits, ghosts, fiends and goblins are dancing. The vampires, female demons and Shiva also are dancing.48.

ਛੁਟੀ ਜੋਗਤਾਰੀ ਮਹਾ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਜਾਗੇ ॥
chhuttee jogataaree mahaa rudr jaage |

With the dissolution of the yoga-samadhi of Maha Rudra (Shiva) (due to the terrible war) (he) has awakened;

ਡਗਿਯੋ ਧਿਆਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰ ਸਭੈ ਸਿਧ ਭਾਗੇ ॥
ddagiyo dhiaan brahaman sabhai sidh bhaage |

The Supreme Rudra hath awakened on coming out of the Yogic contemplation. The meditation of Brahma hath been interrupted and all the Siddhas (adepts) in great fear have run away from their abodes.

ਹਸੇ ਕਿੰਨਰੰ ਜਛ ਬਿਦਿਆਧਰੇਯੰ ॥
hase kinaran jachh bidiaadhareyan |

Kinnars, Yakshas, Vidyadhars (other gods) are laughing

ਨਚੀ ਅਛਰਾ ਪਛਰਾ ਚਾਰਣੇਯੰ ॥੪੯॥
nachee achharaa pachharaa chaaraneyan |49|

The Kinnaers, Yakshas and Vidyadhars are laughing and the wives of bards are dancing.49.

ਪਰਿਯੋ ਘੋਰ ਜੁਧੰ ਸੁ ਸੈਨਾ ਪਰਾਨੀ ॥
pariyo ghor judhan su sainaa paraanee |

Due to fierce war, the army started fleeing.

ਤਹਾ ਖਾ ਹੁਸੈਨੀ ਮੰਡਿਓ ਬੀਰ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
tahaa khaa husainee manddio beer baanee |

The fight was most terrible and the army fled away. The great hero Hussain stood firmly in the fled away. The great hero Hussain stood firmly in the field.

ਉਤੈ ਬੀਰ ਧਾਏ ਸੁ ਬੀਰੰ ਜਸ੍ਵਾਰੰ ॥
autai beer dhaae su beeran jasvaaran |

The brave Jaswaris rushed there.

ਸਬੈ ਬਿਉਤ ਡਾਰੇ ਬਗਾ ਸੇ ਅਸ੍ਵਾਰੰ ॥੫੦॥
sabai biaut ddaare bagaa se asvaaran |50|

The heroes of Jaswal ran towards him. The horsemen were cut in the manner the cloth is cut (by the tailor).50.

ਤਹਾ ਖਾ ਹੁਸੈਨੀ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਏਕ ਠਾਢੰ ॥
tahaa khaa husainee rahiyo ek tthaadtan |

Only Hussaini Khan stood there.

ਮਨੋ ਜੁਧ ਖੰਭੰ ਰਣਭੂਮ ਗਾਡੰ ॥
mano judh khanbhan ranabhoom gaaddan |

There Hussain stood quite alone like the pole of a flagg fixed in the ground.

ਜਿਸੈ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਹਠੀ ਬਾਣਿ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
jisai kop kai kai hatthee baan maariyo |

(He) the stubborn warrior, being angry, whom the arrow strikes,

ਤਿਸੈ ਛੇਦ ਕੈ ਪੈਲ ਪਾਰੇ ਪਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੫੧॥
tisai chhed kai pail paare padhaariyo |51|

Wherever that tenacious warrior shot his arrow, it pierced though the body and went out. 51.

ਸਹੇ ਬਾਣ ਸੂਰੰ ਸਭੈ ਆਣ ਢੂਕੈ ॥
sahe baan sooran sabhai aan dtookai |

(That) warrior bore (all) the arrows on him. (Then) all approached (him).

ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਤੈ ਮਾਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੂਕੈ ॥
chahoon or tai maar hee maar kookai |

The warriors who were struck by arrows came together against him. From all the four sides, they shouted “kill, kill”.

ਭਲੀ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੋ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਉ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਝਾਰੇ ॥
bhalee bhaat so asatr aau sasatr jhaare |

(Husaini) wielded weapons and armor well,

ਗਿਰੇ ਭਿਸਤ ਕੋ ਖਾ ਹੁਸੈਨੀ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥੫੨॥
gire bhisat ko khaa husainee sidhaare |52|

They carried and struck their weapons very ably. At last Hussain fell down and left for heaven.52.

DOHRA

ਜਬੈ ਹੁਸੈਨੀ ਜੁਝਿਯੋ ਭਯੋ ਸੂਰ ਮਨ ਰੋਸੁ ॥
jabai husainee jujhiyo bhayo soor man ros |

When Hussain was killed, the warriors were in great fury.

ਭਾਜਿ ਚਲੇ ਅਵਰੈ ਸਬੈ ਉਠਿਯੋ ਕਟੋਚਨ ਜੋਸ ॥੫੩॥
bhaaj chale avarai sabai utthiyo kattochan jos |53|

All the other fled, but the forces of Katoch felt excited. 53.

CHAUPAI

ਕੋਪਿ ਕਟੋਚਿ ਸਬੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਧਾਏ ॥
kop kattoch sabai mil dhaae |

All the Katochis stormed out in anger.

ਹਿੰਮਤਿ ਕਿੰਮਤਿ ਸਹਿਤ ਰਿਸਾਏ ॥
hinmat kinmat sahit risaae |

All the soldiers of Katoch with great anger together with Himmat and Kimmat.

ਹਰੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਬ ਕੀਯਾ ਉਠਾਨਾ ॥
haree singh tab keeyaa utthaanaa |

Then Hari Singh attacked

ਚੁਨਿ ਚੁਨਿ ਹਨੇ ਪਖਰੀਯਾ ਜੁਆਨਾ ॥੫੪॥
chun chun hane pakhareeyaa juaanaa |54|

Then Hari Singh, who came forward, killed many brave horsemen.54

ਨਰਾਜ ਛੰਦ ॥
naraaj chhand |

NARAAJ STANZA

ਤਬੈ ਕਟੋਚ ਕੋਪੀਯੰ ॥
tabai kattoch kopeeyan |

Then the Katochs got angry

ਸੰਭਾਰ ਪਾਵ ਰੋਪੀਯੰ ॥
sanbhaar paav ropeeyan |

Then the Raja of Katoch became furious and stood firmly in the field.

ਸਰਕ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਝਾਰ ਹੀ ॥
sarak sasatr jhaar hee |

They used to move arms around

ਸੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਉਚਾਰ ਹੀ ॥੫੫॥
su maar maar uchaar hee |55|

He used his weapons unerringly shouting death (for the enemy).55.

ਚੰਦੇਲ ਚੌਪੀਯੰ ਤਬੈ ॥
chandel chauapeeyan tabai |

Then the Chandel Rajputs (who came to Husaini's aid) became (also wary).

ਰਿਸਾਤ ਧਾਤ ਭੇ ਸਬੈ ॥
risaat dhaat bhe sabai |

(From the other side) the Raja of Chandel got enraged and attacked all in a body with indignation.

ਜਿਤੇ ਗਏ ਸੁ ਮਾਰੀਯੰ ॥
jite ge su maareeyan |

As many (opponents came forward) were killed.

ਬਚੇ ਤਿਤੇ ਸਿਧਾਰੀਯੰ ॥੫੬॥
bache tite sidhaareeyan |56|

Those who faced him were killed and those who remained behind, ran away.56.

ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

DOHRA

ਸਾਤ ਸਵਾਰਨ ਕੈ ਸਹਿਤ ਜੂਝੇ ਸੰਗਤ ਰਾਇ ॥
saat savaaran kai sahit joojhe sangat raae |

(Sangita Singh) died with his seven companions.

ਦਰਸੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਜੁਝੈ ਤਿਨੈ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਜੁਝਤ ਭਯੋ ਆਇ ॥੫੭॥
daraso sun jujhai tinai bahur jujhat bhayo aae |57|

When Darsho came to know of it, he also came in the field and died. 57.

ਹਿੰਮਤ ਹੂੰ ਉਤਰਿਯੋ ਤਹਾ ਬੀਰ ਖੇਤ ਮਝਾਰ ॥
hinmat hoon utariyo tahaa beer khet majhaar |

Then Himmat came in the battlefield.

ਕੇਤਨ ਕੇ ਤਨਿ ਘਾਇ ਸਹਿ ਕੇਤਨਿ ਕੇ ਤਨਿ ਝਾਰਿ ॥੫੮॥
ketan ke tan ghaae seh ketan ke tan jhaar |58|

He received several wounds and struck his weapons on several others.58.

ਬਾਜ ਤਹਾ ਜੂਝਤ ਭਯੋ ਹਿੰਮਤ ਗਯੋ ਪਰਾਇ ॥
baaj tahaa joojhat bhayo hinmat gayo paraae |

His horse was killed there, but Himmat fled.

ਲੋਥ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਹਿ ਕੀ ਨਮਿਤ ਕੋਪਿ ਪਰੇ ਅਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥੫੯॥
loth kripaaleh kee namit kop pare ar raae |59|

The warriors of Katoch came with great rage in order ot take away the dead body of their Raja Kirpal.59.

ਰਸਾਵਲ ਛੰਦ ॥
rasaaval chhand |

RASAAVAL STANZA

ਬਲੀ ਬੈਰ ਰੁਝੈ ॥
balee bair rujhai |

The warriors engaged in battle

ਸਮੁਹਿ ਸਾਰ ਜੁਝੈ ॥
samuhi saar jujhai |

The warriors are busy in wreaking vengeance, they become martyrs facing the sword.

ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਰਾਮ ਗਾਜੀ ॥
kripaa raam gaajee |

Kripa Ram Surma fought (as such).

ਲਰਿਯੋ ਸੈਨ ਭਾਜੀ ॥੬੦॥
lariyo sain bhaajee |60|

The warrior Kirpa Ram fought so severely that all the army seems running away. 60.

ਮਹਾ ਸੈਨ ਗਾਹੈ ॥
mahaa sain gaahai |

(He) tramples a great army

ਨ੍ਰਿਭੈ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਬਾਹੈ ॥
nribhai sasatr baahai |

He tramples the big army and strikes his weapon fearlessly.
