ਹਰਿ ਧਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਚਿੰਤ ਵਿਸਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਧਨਿ ਲਾਹਿਆ ਧੋਖਾ ॥
har dhan meree chint visaaree har dhan laahiaa dhokhaa |

Through the wealth of the Lord, I have forgotten my anxiety; through the wealth of the Lord, my doubt has been dispelled.

ਹਰਿ ਧਨ ਤੇ ਮੈ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ਹਾਥਿ ਚਰਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਥੋਕਾ ॥੩॥
har dhan te mai nav nidh paaee haath chario har thokaa |3|

From the wealth of the Lord, I have obtained the nine treasures; the true essence of the Lord has come into my hands. ||3||

ਖਾਵਹੁ ਖਰਚਹੁ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਲਤ ਪਲਤ ਕੈ ਸੰਗੇ ॥
khaavahu kharachahu tott na aavai halat palat kai sange |

No matter how much I eat and expend this wealth, it is not exhausted; here and hereafter, it remains with me.

ਲਾਦਿ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਦੀਆ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰੰਗੇ ॥੪॥੨॥੩॥
laad khajaanaa gur naanak kau deea ihu man har rang range |4|2|3|

Loading the treasure, Guru Nanak has given it, and this mind is imbued with the Lord's Love. ||4||2||3||

ਗੂਜਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
goojaree mahalaa 5 |

Goojaree, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਨਾਸਹਿ ਪਿਤਰੀ ਹੋਇ ਉਧਾਰੋ ॥
jis simarat sabh kilavikh naaseh pitaree hoe udhaaro |

Remembering Him, all sins are erased, and ones generations are saved.

ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੁਮੑ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਜਾਪਹੁ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰੋ ॥੧॥
so har har tuma sad hee jaapahu jaa kaa ant na paaro |1|

So meditate continually on the Lord, Har, Har; He has no end or limitation. ||1||

ਪੂਤਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਕੀ ਆਸੀਸ ॥
pootaa maataa kee aasees |

O son, this is your mother's hope and prayer,

ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਬਿਸਰਉ ਤੁਮੑ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਭਜਹੁ ਜਗਦੀਸ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
nimakh na bisrau tuma kau har har sadaa bhajahu jagadees |1| rahaau |

that you may never forget the Lord, Har, Har, even for an instant. May you ever vibrate upon the Lord of the Universe. ||1||Pause||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤੁਮੑ ਕਉ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
satigur tuma kau hoe deaalaa santasang teree preet |

May the True Guru be kind to you, and may you love the Society of the Saints.

ਕਾਪੜੁ ਪਤਿ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਰਾਖੀ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਨੀਤਿ ॥੨॥
kaaparr pat paramesar raakhee bhojan keeratan neet |2|

May the preservation of your honor by the Transcendent Lord be your clothes, and may the singing of His Praises be your food. ||2||

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਚਿਰੁ ਜੀਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਅਨਦ ਅਨੰਤਾ ॥
amrit peevahu sadaa chir jeevahu har simarat anad anantaa |

So drink in forever the Ambrosial Nectar; may you live long, and may the meditative remembrance of the Lord give you infinite delight.

ਰੰਗ ਤਮਾਸਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ਕਬਹਿ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ॥੩॥
rang tamaasaa pooran aasaa kabeh na biaapai chintaa |3|

May joy and pleasure be yours; may your hopes be fulfilled, and may you never be troubled by worries. ||3||

ਭਵਰੁ ਤੁਮੑਾਰਾ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਹੋਵਉ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣਾ ਹੋਹੁ ਕਉਲਾ ॥
bhavar tumaaraa ihu man hovau har charanaa hohu kaulaa |

Let this mind of yours be the bumble bee, and let the Lord's feet be the lotus flower.

ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਉਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਪਟਾਇਓ ਜਿਉ ਬੂੰਦਹਿ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕੁ ਮਉਲਾ ॥੪॥੩॥੪॥
naanak daas un sang lapattaaeio jiau boondeh chaatrik maulaa |4|3|4|

Says servant Nanak, attach your mind to them, and blossom forth like the song-bird, upon finding the rain-drop. ||4||3||4||

ਗੂਜਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
goojaree mahalaa 5 |

Goojaree, Fifth Mehl:

ਮਤਾ ਕਰੈ ਪਛਮ ਕੈ ਤਾਈ ਪੂਰਬ ਹੀ ਲੈ ਜਾਤ ॥
mataa karai pachham kai taaee poorab hee lai jaat |

He decides to go to the west, but the Lord leads him away to the east.

ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਨਹਾਰਾ ਆਪਨ ਹਾਥਿ ਮਤਾਤ ॥੧॥
khin meh thaap uthaapanahaaraa aapan haath mataat |1|

In an instant, He establishes and disestablishes; He holds all matters in His hands. ||1||

ਸਿਆਨਪ ਕਾਹੂ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਤ ॥
siaanap kaahoo kaam na aat |

Cleverness is of no use at all.

ਜੋ ਅਨਰੂਪਿਓ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਹੋਇ ਰਹੀ ਉਹ ਬਾਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo anaroopio tthaakur merai hoe rahee uh baat |1| rahaau |

Whatever my Lord and Master deems to be right - that alone comes to pass. ||1||Pause||

ਦੇਸੁ ਕਮਾਵਨ ਧਨ ਜੋਰਨ ਕੀ ਮਨਸਾ ਬੀਚੇ ਨਿਕਸੇ ਸਾਸ ॥
des kamaavan dhan joran kee manasaa beeche nikase saas |

In his desire to acquire land and accumulate wealth, one's breath escapes him.

ਲਸਕਰ ਨੇਬ ਖਵਾਸ ਸਭ ਤਿਆਗੇ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਸ ॥੨॥
lasakar neb khavaas sabh tiaage jam pur aootth sidhaas |2|

He must leave all his armies, assistants and servants; rising up, he departs to the City of Death. ||2||

ਹੋਇ ਅਨੰਨਿ ਮਨਹਠ ਕੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਤਾ ਆਪਸ ਕਉ ਜਾਨਾਤ ॥
hoe anan manahatth kee drirrataa aapas kau jaanaat |

Believing himself to be unique, he clings to his stubborn mind, and shows himself off.

ਜੋ ਅਨਿੰਦੁ ਨਿੰਦੁ ਕਰਿ ਛੋਡਿਓ ਸੋਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਖਾਤ ॥੩॥
jo anind nind kar chhoddio soee fir fir khaat |3|

That food, which the blameless people have condemned and discarded, he eats again and again. ||3||

ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਭਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਕਾਟੀ ਫਾਸ ॥
sahaj subhaae bhe kirapaalaa tis jan kee kaattee faas |

One, unto whom the Lord shows His natural mercy, has the noose of Death cut away from him.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਗਿਰਸਤ ਉਦਾਸ ॥੪॥੪॥੫॥
kahu naanak gur pooraa bhettiaa paravaan girasat udaas |4|4|5|

Says Nanak, one who meets the Perfect Guru, is celebrated as a householder as well as a renunciate. ||4||4||5||

ਗੂਜਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Goojaree, Fifth Mehl:

ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਨਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟੇ ॥
naam nidhaan jin jan japio tin ke bandhan kaatte |

Those humble beings who chant the treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, have their bonds broken.

ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮਾਇਆ ਬਿਖੁ ਮਮਤਾ ਇਹ ਬਿਆਧਿ ਤੇ ਹਾਟੇ ॥੧॥
kaam krodh maaeaa bikh mamataa ih biaadh te haatte |1|

Sexual desirer, anger, the poison of Maya and egotism - they are rid of these afflictions. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਗਾਇਓ ॥
har jas saadhasang mil gaaeio |

One who joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and chants the Praises of the Lord,

ਗੁਰਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਭਇਓ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਅਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
guraparasaad bheio man niramal sarab sukhaa sukh paaeaau |1| rahaau |

has his mind purified, by Guru's Grace, and he obtains the joy of all joys. ||1||Pause||

ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਓ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮਾਨੈ ਐਸੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਮਾਨੀ ॥
jo kichh keeo soee bhal maanai aaisee bhagat kamaanee |

Whatever the Lord does, he sees that as good; such is the devotional service he performs.

ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਸਭ ਏਕ ਸਮਾਨੇ ਜੋਗ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਨੀਸਾਨੀ ॥੨॥
mitr satru sabh ek samaane jog jugat neesaanee |2|

He sees friends and enemies as all the same; this is the sign of the Way of Yoga. ||2||

ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਥਾਈ ਆਨ ਨ ਕਤਹੂੰ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
pooran poor rahio srab thaaee aan na katahoon jaataa |

The all-pervading Lord is fully filling all places; why should I go anywhere else?

ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਵਿਓ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੩॥
ghatt ghatt antar sarab nirantar rang ravio rang raataa |3|

He is permeating and pervading within each and every heart; I am immersed in His Love, dyed in the color of His Love. ||3||

ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੁਪਾਲਾ ਤਾ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
bhe kripaal deaal gupaalaa taa nirabhai kai ghar aaeaa |

When the Lord of the Universe becomes kind and compassionate, then one enters the home of the Fearless Lord.
