ਜਨ ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਰਖਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥
jan traeh traeh saranaagatee meree jindurree gur naanak har rakhavaale raam |3|The Lord's humble servants beseech and implore Him, and enter His Sanctuary, O my soul; Guru Nanak becomes their Divine Protector. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਉਬਰੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਧੁਰਿ ਭਾਗ ਵਡੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
har jan har liv ubare meree jindurree dhur bhaag vadde har paaeaa raam |The Lord's humble servants are saved, through the Love of the Lord, O my soul; by their pre-ordained good destiny, they obtain the Lord.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੋਤੁ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਗੁਰ ਖੇਵਟ ਸਬਦਿ ਤਰਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
har har naam pot hai meree jindurree gur khevatt sabad taraaeaa raam |The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is the ship, O my soul, and the Guru is the helmsman. Through the Word of the Shabad, He ferries us across.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੀਠ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
har har purakh deaal hai meree jindurree gur satigur meetth lagaaeaa raam |The Lord, Har, Har, is all-powerful and very kind, O my soul; through the Guru, the True Guru, He seems so sweet.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸੁਣਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੨॥
kar kirapaa sun benatee har har jan naanak naam dhiaaeaa raam |4|2|Shower Your Mercy upon me, and hear my prayer, O Lord, Har, Har; please, let servant Nanak meditate on Your Name. ||4||2||
ਬਿਹਾਗੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥
bihaagarraa mahalaa 4 |Bihaagraa, Fourth Mehl:
ਜਗਿ ਸੁਕ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਧਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
jag sukrit keerat naam hai meree jindurree har keerat har man dhaare raam |In this world, the best occupation is to sing the Praises of the Naam, O my soul. Singing the Praises of the Lord, the Lord is enshrined in the mind.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਧਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
har har naam pavit hai meree jindurree jap har har naam udhaare raam |The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is immaculate and pure, O my soul. Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, one is saved.
ਸਭ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਪਾਪ ਦੁਖ ਕਟਿਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਮਲੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਉਤਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
sabh kilavikh paap dukh kattiaa meree jindurree mal guramukh naam utaare raam |All sins and errors are erased, O my soul; with the Naam, the Gurmukh washes off this filth.
ਵਡ ਪੁੰਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਧ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥
vadd punee har dhiaaeaa jan naanak ham moorakh mugadh nisataare raam |1|By great good fortune, servant Nanak meditates on the Lord; even fools and idiots like me have been saved. ||1||
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਤਿਨਾ ਪੰਚੇ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਆਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
jo har naam dhiaaeide meree jindurree tinaa panche vasagat aae raam |Those who meditate on the Lord's Name, O my soul, overpower the five passions.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
antar nav nidh naam hai meree jindurree gur satigur alakh lakhaae raam |The nine treasures of the Naam are within, O my soul; the Great Guru has made me see the unseen Lord.
ਗੁਰਿ ਆਸਾ ਮਨਸਾ ਪੂਰੀਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਭੁਖ ਸਭ ਜਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
gur aasaa manasaa pooreea meree jindurree har miliaa bhukh sabh jaae raam |The Guru has fulfilled my hopes and desires, O my soul; meeting the Lord, all my hunger is satisfied.
ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥
dhur masatak har prabh likhiaa meree jindurree jan naanak har gun gaae raam |2|O servant Nanak, he alone sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, O my soul, upon whose forehead God has inscribed such pre-ordained destiny. ||2||
ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਬਲਵੰਚੀਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਪਰਦ੍ਰੋਹੀ ਠਗ ਮਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
ham paapee balavancheea meree jindurree paradrohee tthag maaeaa raam |I am a deceitful sinner, O my soul, a cheat, and a robber of others' wealth.
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
vaddabhaagee gur paaeaa meree jindurree gur poorai gat mit paaeaa raam |But, by great good fortune, I have found the Guru, O my soul; through the Perfect Guru, I have found the way to salvation.
ਗੁਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਚੋਇਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਰਦਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਜੀਵਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
gur amrit har mukh choeaa meree jindurree fir maradaa bahurr jeevaaeaa raam |The Guru has poured the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord's Name into my mouth, O my soul, and now, my dead soul has come to life again.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੋ ਮਿਲੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਦੁਖ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥
jan naanak satigur jo mile meree jindurree tin ke sabh dukh gavaaeaa raam |3|O servant Nanak: those who meet the True Guru, O my soul, have all of their pains taken away. ||3||
ਅਤਿ ਊਤਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਜਿਤੁ ਜਪਿਐ ਪਾਪ ਗਵਾਤੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
at aootam har naam hai meree jindurree jit japiaai paap gavaate raam |The Name of the Lord is sublime, O my soul; chanting it, one's sins are washed away.
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਚਹੁ ਕੁੰਡੀ ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗਿ ਜਾਤੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
patit pavitr gur har kee meree jindurree chahu kunddee chahu jug jaate raam |The Guru, the Lord, has purified even the sinners, O my soul; now, they are famous and respected in the four directions and throughout the four ages.
ਹਉਮੈ ਮੈਲੁ ਸਭ ਉਤਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਿ ਨਾਤੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
haumai mail sabh utaree meree jindurree har amrit har sar naate raam |The filth of egotism is totally wiped away, O my soul, by bathing in the Ambrosial Pool of the Lord's Name.
ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਪਾਪੀ ਉਧਰੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਖਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੩॥
aparaadhee paapee udhare meree jindurree jan naanak khin har raate raam |4|3|Even sinners are carried across, O my soul, if they are imbued with the Lord's Name, even for an instant, O servant Nanak. ||4||3||
ਬਿਹਾਗੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਨੑ ਕਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਜਿਨੑ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੋ ਰਾਮ ॥
hau balihaaree tina kau meree jindurree jina har har naam adhaaro raam |I am a sacrifice, O my soul, to those who take the Support of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਗੁਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਬਿਖੁ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਾਰਣਹਾਰੋ ਰਾਮ ॥
gur satigur naam drirraaeaa meree jindurree bikh bhaujal taaranahaaro raam |The Guru, the True Guru, implanted the Name within me, O my soul, and He has carried me across the terrifying world-ocean of poison.
ਜਿਨ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਤਿਨ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਜੈਕਾਰੋ ਰਾਮ ॥
jin ik man har dhiaaeaa meree jindurree tin sant janaa jaikaaro raam |Those who have meditated one-pointedly on the Lord, O my soul - I proclaim the Victory of those saintly beings.
