ਜਾ ਆਏ ਤਾ ਤਿਨਹਿ ਪਠਾਏ ਚਾਲੇ ਤਿਨੈ ਬੁਲਾਇ ਲਇਆ ॥
jaa aae taa tineh patthaae chaale tinai bulaae leaa |

He comes when the Lord sends him; when the Lord calls him back, he goes.

ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਣਾ ਸੋ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਬਖਸਣਹਾਰੈ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਇਆ ॥੧੦॥
jo kichh karanaa so kar rahiaa bakhasanahaarai bakhas leaa |10|

Whatever he does, the Lord is doing. The Forgiving Lord forgives him. ||10||

ਜਿਨਿ ਏਹੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਖੋਜੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
jin ehu chaakhiaa raam rasaaein tin kee sangat khoj bheaa |

I seek to be with those who have tasted this sublime essence of the Lord.

ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੧੧॥
ridh sidh budh giaan guroo te paaeaa mukat padaarath saran peaa |11|

Wealth, miraculous spiritual powers, wisdom and spiritual knowledge, are obtained from the Guru. The treasure of liberation is obtained in His Sanctuary. ||11||

ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਮ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਣਾ ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਤੇ ਬਿਰਕਤੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
dukh sukh guramukh sam kar jaanaa harakh sog te birakat bheaa |

The Gurmukh looks upon pain and pleasure as one and the same; he remains untouched by joy and sorrow.

ਆਪੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਏ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇ ਲਇਆ ॥੧੨॥੭॥
aap maar guramukh har paae naanak sahaj samaae leaa |12|7|

Conquering his self-conceit, the Gurmukh finds the Lord; O Nanak, he intuitively merges into the Lord. ||12||7||

ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਦਖਣੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥
raamakalee dakhanee mahalaa 1 |

Raamkalee, Dakhanee, First Mehl:

ਜਤੁ ਸਤੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਸਿ ਲੀਣਾ ॥੧॥
jat sat sanjam saach drirraaeaa saach sabad ras leenaa |1|

Abstinence, chastity, self-control and truthfulness have been implanted within me; I am imbued with the sublime essence of the True Word of the Shabad. ||1||

ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਲੀਣਾ ॥
meraa gur deaal sadaa rang leenaa |

My Merciful Guru remains forever imbued with the Lord's Love.

ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਰਹੈ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਸਾਚੇ ਦੇਖਿ ਪਤੀਣਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ahinis rahai ek liv laagee saache dekh pateenaa |1| rahaau |

Day and night, He remains lovingly focused on the One Lord; gazing upon the True Lord, He is pleased. ||1||Pause||

ਰਹੈ ਗਗਨ ਪੁਰਿ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਮੈਸਰਿ ਅਨਹਤ ਸਬਦਿ ਰੰਗੀਣਾ ॥੨॥
rahai gagan pur drisatt samaisar anahat sabad rangeenaa |2|

He abides in the Tenth Gate, and looks equally upon all; He is imbued with the unstruck sound current of the Shabad. ||2||

ਸਤੁ ਬੰਧਿ ਕੁਪੀਨ ਭਰਿਪੁਰਿ ਲੀਣਾ ਜਿਹਵਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਸੀਣਾ ॥੩॥
sat bandh kupeen bharipur leenaa jihavaa rang raseenaa |3|

Wearing the loin-cloth of chastity, He remains absorbed in the all-pervading Lord; His tongue enjoys the taste of God's Love. ||3||

ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਚੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਚੁ ਰਾਚੇ ਕਿਰਤੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ਪਤੀਣਾ ॥੪॥
milai gur saache jin rach raache kirat veechaar pateenaa |4|

The One who created the creation has met the True Guru; contemplating the Guru's lifestyle, He is pleased. ||4||

ਏਕ ਮਹਿ ਸਰਬ ਸਰਬ ਮਹਿ ਏਕਾ ਏਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥੫॥
ek meh sarab sarab meh ekaa eh satigur dekh dikhaaee |5|

All are in the One, and the One is in all. This is what the True Guru has shown me. ||5||

ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਏ ਖੰਡ ਮੰਡਲ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡਾ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਖਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੬॥
jin kee khandd manddal brahamanddaa so prabh lakhan na jaaee |6|

He who created the worlds, solar systems and galaxies - that God cannot be known. ||6||

ਦੀਪਕ ਤੇ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਜੋਤਿ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥੭॥
deepak te deepak paragaasiaa tribhavan jot dikhaaee |7|

From the lamp of God, the lamp within is lit; the Divine Light illuminates the three worlds. ||7||

ਸਚੈ ਤਖਤਿ ਸਚ ਮਹਲੀ ਬੈਠੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਈ ॥੮॥
sachai takhat sach mahalee baitthe nirbhau taarree laaee |8|

The Guru sits on the true throne in the true mansion; He is attuned, absorbed in the Fearless Lord. ||8||

ਮੋਹਿ ਗਇਆ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਜੋਗੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਵਾਈ ॥੯॥
mohi geaa bairaagee jogee ghatt ghatt kinguree vaaee |9|

The Guru, the detached Yogi, has enticed the hearts of all; He plays His harp in each and every heart. ||9||

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੀ ਛੂਟੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਚੁ ਸਖਾਈ ॥੧੦॥੮॥
naanak saran prabhoo kee chhootte satigur sach sakhaaee |10|8|

O Nanak, in God's Sanctuary, one is emancipated; the True Guru becomes our true help and support. ||10||8||

ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥
raamakalee mahalaa 1 |

Raamkalee, First Mehl:

ਅਉਹਠਿ ਹਸਤ ਮੜੀ ਘਰੁ ਛਾਇਆ ਧਰਣਿ ਗਗਨ ਕਲ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
aauhatth hasat marree ghar chhaaeaa dharan gagan kal dhaaree |1|

He has made His home in the monastery of the heart; He has infused His power into the earth and the sky. ||1||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੇਤੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਉਧਾਰੀ ਸੰਤਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
guramukh ketee sabad udhaaree santahu |1| rahaau |

Through the Word of the Shabad, the Gurmukhs have saved so very many, O Saints. ||1||Pause||

ਮਮਤਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਸੋਖੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
mamataa maar haumai sokhai tribhavan jot tumaaree |2|

He conquers attachment, and eradicates egotism, and sees Your Divine Light pervading the three worlds, Lord. ||2||

ਮਨਸਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਨੈ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
manasaa maar manai meh raakhai satigur sabad veechaaree |3|

He conquers desire, and enshrines the Lord within his mind; he contemplates the Word of the True Guru's Shabad. ||3||

ਸਿੰਙੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਅਨਾਹਦਿ ਵਾਜੈ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
singee surat anaahad vaajai ghatt ghatt jot tumaaree |4|

The horn of consciousness vibrates the unstruck sound current; Your Light illuminates each and every heart, Lord. ||4||

ਪਰਪੰਚ ਬੇਣੁ ਤਹੀ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਅਗਨਿ ਪਰਜਾਰੀ ॥੫॥
parapanch ben tahee man raakhiaa braham agan parajaaree |5|

He plays the flute of the universe in his mind, and lights the fire of God. ||5||

ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜੋਤਿ ਅਪਾਰੀ ॥੬॥
panch tat mil ahinis deepak niramal jot apaaree |6|

Bringing together the five elements, day and night, the Lord's lamp shines with the Immaculate Light of the Infinite. ||6||

ਰਵਿ ਸਸਿ ਲਉਕੇ ਇਹੁ ਤਨੁ ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਵਾਜੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਨਿਰਾਰੀ ॥੭॥
rav sas lauke ihu tan kinguree vaajai sabad niraaree |7|

The right and left nostrils, the sun and the moon channels, are the strings of the body-harp; they vibrate the wondrous melody of the Shabad. ||7||

ਸਿਵ ਨਗਰੀ ਮਹਿ ਆਸਣੁ ਅਉਧੂ ਅਲਖੁ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੀ ॥੮॥
siv nagaree meh aasan aaudhoo alakh agam apaaree |8|

The true hermit obtains a seat in the City of God, the invisible, inaccessible, infinite. ||8||

ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰੀ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਜਾ ਪੰਚ ਵਸਹਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੯॥
kaaeaa nagaree ihu man raajaa panch vaseh veechaaree |9|

The mind is the king of the city of the body; the five sources of knowledge dwell within it. ||9||

ਸਬਦਿ ਰਵੈ ਆਸਣਿ ਘਰਿ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਦਲੁ ਕਰੇ ਗੁਣਕਾਰੀ ॥੧੦॥
sabad ravai aasan ghar raajaa adal kare gunakaaree |10|

Seated in his home, this king chants the Shabad; he administers justice and virtue. ||10||

ਕਾਲੁ ਬਿਕਾਲੁ ਕਹੇ ਕਹਿ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਜੀਵਤ ਮੂਆ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੧੧॥
kaal bikaal kahe keh bapure jeevat mooaa man maaree |11|

What can poor death or birth say to him? Conquering his mind, he remains dead while yet alive. ||11||
