ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਜਾਇਦਾ ॥੬॥
aap tarai sagale kul taare har daragah pat siau jaaeidaa |6|

You shall save yourself, and save all your generations as well. You shall go to the Court of the Lord with honor. ||6||

ਖੰਡ ਪਤਾਲ ਦੀਪ ਸਭਿ ਲੋਆ ॥
khandd pataal deep sabh loaa |

All the continents, nether worlds, islands and worlds

ਸਭਿ ਕਾਲੈ ਵਸਿ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਆ ॥
sabh kaalai vas aap prabh keea |

God Himself has made them all subject to death.

ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਏਕੁ ਆਪਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਸੋ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਜੋ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ॥੭॥
nihachal ek aap abinaasee so nihachal jo tiseh dhiaaeidaa |7|

The One Imperishable Lord Himself is unmoving and unchanging. Meditating on Him, one becomes unchanging. ||7||

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੇਹਾ ॥
har kaa sevak so har jehaa |

The Lord's servant becomes like the Lord.

ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਮਾਣਸ ਦੇਹਾ ॥
bhed na jaanahu maanas dehaa |

Do not think that, because of his human body, he is different.

ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਤਰੰਗ ਉਠਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਸਲਲੈ ਸਲਲ ਸਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੮॥
jiau jal tarang uttheh bahu bhaatee fir salalai salal samaaeidaa |8|

The waves of the water rise up in various ways, and then the water merges again in water. ||8||

ਇਕੁ ਜਾਚਿਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੁਆਰੈ ॥
eik jaachik mangai daan duaarai |

A beggar begs for charity at His Door.

ਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੈ ॥
jaa prabh bhaavai taa kirapaa dhaarai |

When God pleases, He takes pity on him.

ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਮਨੁ ਠਹਰਾਇਦਾ ॥੯॥
dehu daras jit man tripataasai har keeratan man tthaharaaeidaa |9|

Please bless me with the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, to satisfy my mind, O Lord. Through the Kirtan of Your Praises, my mind is held steady. ||9||

ਰੂੜੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕਿਤੈ ਵਸਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
roorro tthaakur kitai vas na aavai |

The Beauteous Lord and Master is not controlled in any way.

ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਆ ਸੰਤਾ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
har so kichh kare ji har kiaa santaa bhaavai |

The Lord does that which pleases the Saints of the Lord.

ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜਨਿ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਾਇਨਿ ਦਰਿ ਫੇਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੦॥
keetaa lorran soee karaaein dar fer na koee paaeidaa |10|

He does whatever they wish to be done; nothing blocks their way at His Door. ||10||

ਜਿਥੈ ਅਉਘਟੁ ਆਇ ਬਨਤੁ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥
jithai aaughatt aae banat hai praanee |

Wherever the mortal is confronted with difficulty,

ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਣੀ ॥
tithai har dhiaaeeai saaringapaanee |

there he should meditate on the Lord of the Universe.

ਜਿਥੈ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੁ ਕਲਤ੍ਰੁ ਨ ਬੇਲੀ ਕੋਈ ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਛਡਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੧॥
jithai putru kalatru na belee koee tithai har aap chhaddaaeidaa |11|

Where there are no children, spouse or friends, there the Lord Himself comes to the rescue. ||11||

ਵਡਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹਾ ॥
vaddaa saahib agam athaahaa |

The Great Lord and Master is inaccessible and unfathomable.

ਕਿਉ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹਾ ॥
kiau mileeai prabh veparavaahaa |

How can anyone meet with God, the self-suficient One?

ਕਾਟਿ ਸਿਲਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਏ ਸੋ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੨॥
kaatt silak jis maarag paae so vich sangat vaasaa paaeidaa |12|

Those who have had the noose cut away from around their necks, whom God has set back upon the Path, obtain a place in the Sangat, the Congregation. ||12||

ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਕਹੀਐ ॥
hukam boojhai so sevak kaheeai |

One who realizes the Hukam of the Lord's Command is said to be His servant.

ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਦੁਇ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਸਹੀਐ ॥
buraa bhalaa due samasar saheeai |

He endures both bad and good equally.

ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ ਤ ਏਕੋ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੩॥
haumai jaae ta eko boojhai so guramukh sahaj samaaeidaa |13|

When egotism is silenced, then one comes to know the One Lord. Such a Gurmukh intuitively merges in the Lord. ||13||

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਵਾਸੀ ॥
har ke bhagat sadaa sukhavaasee |

The devotees of the Lord dwell forever in peace.

ਬਾਲ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਅਤੀਤ ਉਦਾਸੀ ॥
baal subhaae ateet udaasee |

With a child-like, innocent nature, they remain detached, turning away from the world.

ਅਨਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਕਰਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਜਿਉ ਪਿਤਾ ਪੂਤੁ ਲਾਡਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੪॥
anik rang kareh bahu bhaatee jiau pitaa poot laaddaaeidaa |14|

They enjoy various pleasures in many ways; God caresses them, like a father caressing his son. ||14||

ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ ॥
agam agochar keemat nahee paaee |

He is inaccessible and unfathomable; His value cannot be estimated.

ਤਾ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਜਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
taa mileeai jaa le milaaee |

We meet Him, only when He causes us to meet.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਭਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਜਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਲਿਖਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੫॥
guramukh pragatt bheaa tin jan kau jin dhur masatak lekh likhaaeidaa |15|

The Lord is revealed to those humble Gurmukhs, who have such pre-ordained destiny inscribed upon their foreheads. ||15||

ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਣਾ ॥
too aape karataa kaaran karanaa |

You Yourself are the Creator Lord, the Cause of causes.

ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਧਰੀ ਸਭ ਧਰਣਾ ॥
srisatt upaae dharee sabh dharanaa |

You created the Universe, and You support the whole earth.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਲਾਜ ਰਖਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੬॥੧॥੫॥
jan naanak saran peaa har duaarai har bhaavai laaj rakhaaeidaa |16|1|5|

Servant Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of Your Door, O Lord; if it is Your Will, please preserve his honor. ||16||1||5||

ਮਾਰੂ ਸੋਲਹੇ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
maaroo solahe mahalaa 5 |

Maaroo, Solahas, Fifth Mehl:

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik oankaar satigur prasaad |

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਏਕੋ ਤੂਹੈ ॥
jo deesai so eko toohai |

Whatever is seen is You, O One Lord.

ਬਾਣੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਵਣਿ ਸੁਣੀਐ ॥
baanee teree sravan suneeai |

What the ears hear is the Word of Your Bani.

ਦੂਜੀ ਅਵਰ ਨ ਜਾਪਸਿ ਕਾਈ ਸਗਲ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਧਾਰਣਾ ॥੧॥
doojee avar na jaapas kaaee sagal tumaaree dhaaranaa |1|

There is nothing else to be seen at all. You give support to all. ||1||

ਆਪਿ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਆ ॥
aap chitaare apanaa keea |

You Yourself are conscious of Your Creation.

ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਥੀਆ ॥
aape aap aap prabh theea |

You Yourself established Yourself, O God.

ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਰਚਿਓਨੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਾਰਣਾ ॥੨॥
aap upaae rachion pasaaraa aape ghatt ghatt saaranaa |2|

Creating Yourself, You formed the expanse of the Universe; You Yourself cherish and sustain each and every heart. ||2||

ਇਕਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਵਡ ਦਰਵਾਰੀ ॥
eik upaae vadd daravaaree |

You created some to hold great and royal courts.

ਇਕਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਇਕਿ ਘਰ ਬਾਰੀ ॥
eik udaasee ik ghar baaree |

Some turn away from the world in renunciation, and some maintain their households.
