ਬੀਜ ਬੋਇ ਕਾਲਰ ਮੈ ਨਿਪਜੈ ਨ ਧਾਨ ਪਾਨ ਮੂਲ ਖੋਇ ਰੋਵੈ ਪੁਨ ਰਾਜੁ ਡੰਡ ਲਾਗਈ ।

beej boe kaalar mai nipajai na dhaan paan mool khoe rovai pun raaj ddandd laagee |

Just as a seed sown in saline and barren land yields not even a leaf, one loses the capital (seed) and cries at the waste beside forced to pay revenue.

ਸਲਿਲ ਬਿਲੋਏ ਜੈਸੇ ਨਿਕਸਤ ਨਾਹਿ ਘ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਮਟੁਕੀ ਮਥਨੀਆ ਹੂ ਫੇਰਿ ਤੋਰਿ ਭਾਗਈ ।
