ਜੈਸੇ ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਦਿਪਤ ਦੀਪਕ ਦੇਖ ਅਨਿਕ ਪਤੰਗ ਓਤ ਪੋਤ ਹੁਇ ਗੁੰਜਾਰ ਹੀ ।

jaise andhakaar bikhai dipat deepak dekh anik patang ot pot hue gunjaar hee |

Just as seeing a lamp lit in the dark, several moths start rumbling around it like warp and weft.

ਜੈਸੇ ਮਿਸਟਾਂਨ ਪਾਨ ਜਾਨ ਕਾਨ ਭਾਂਜਨ ਮੈ ਰਾਖਤ ਹੀ ਚੀਟੀ ਲੋਭ ਲੁਭਤ ਅਪਾਰ ਹੀ ।

jaise misattaan paan jaan kaan bhaanjan mai raakhat hee cheettee lobh lubhat apaar hee |

Just as sweetmeats kept in best possible way to protect them from encroachers, yet avarice bewitched ants reach it from all sides.

ਜੈਸੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਦ ਸੌਰਭ ਕਮਲ ਓਰ ਧਾਇ ਜਾਇ ਮਧੁਪ ਸਮੂਹ ਸੁਭ ਸਬਦ ਉਚਾਰਹੀ ।

jaise mrid sauarabh kamal or dhaae jaae madhup samooh subh sabad uchaarahee |

Just as attracted by the fragrance, a bunch of bumble bees invade lotus flowers resoundingly.

ਤੈਸੇ ਹੀ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਗੁਰ ਗ੍ਯਾਨ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਜਾ ਮੈ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤਾ ਚਰਨ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਹੀ ।੬੦੬।

taise hee nidhaan gur gayaan paravaan jaa mai sagal sansaar taa charan namasakaar hee |606|

Similarly, an obedient Sikh who is accepted (by the Guru) and in whose mind the words and knowledge of the True Guru the supreme treasure, gets lodged, that Sikh's feet are bowed at by the whole world. (606)
